In A Nutshell: -The Aspire Lounge in Heathrow was adequate. -It's part of the Priority Pass network, show your card & enter. -Very packed each time I went there (3x). -The layout is poor since it's very narrow throughout. -There is a bottleneck where you grab food. -It's also pretty warm in the lounge b/c it isn't enclosed. -The wine was very good. -There are also two (one is big enough if you need to wash your kids) hidden showers near the front counter. -Not many people know about the showers which is good, but since there's only two I can imagine it be hard to use. -I used both showers, they are very clean, plenty of clean towels too also there are toilets in them. -The lounge itself doesn't have dedicated restrooms, so you have to exit the terminal, but now that you know there's toilets in the showers, I would check those first. Overall, it's okay lounge, just very crowded & very warm. Otherwise, it still beats the airport terminal! read more

Aspire Lounge at T5 had been a haven for me for the many layovers I've had at LHR during my most recent European trip. I've been here a handful of times since it always happened to be the closest airport lounge to the gates I was flying out of. For admission to this lounge, I used my Priority Pass membership. I came here during lunch and morning hours--both of which had hot food offerings. For the time I was there during lunchtime, I had a slice of spinach quiche, spicy penne pasta and a cup of mushroom soup. The penne pasta was tasty (I like spicy) and the mushroom was flavorful and robust. For the time I was there during breakfast, I had scrambled eggs, a mini lox bagel, sausage, bacon and fruit. Typical hot &cold hearty breakfast food options to fill my hungry early morning tummy. Of note, I didn't utilize the spa facilities as it was not included with normal/Priority Pass admission. I also didn't drink any alcohol, although they have a few beers on tap and other alcohols for traveler consumption! While my layovers in LHR were short, I was satisfied with my stays at the Aspire Lounge. I usually judge a lounge by its food offerings, and the food I had here definitely did the job as there were both cold and hot food options that were tasty and hit the spot. If I am ever in T5 again, I will definitely be back here! read more

Two stars is a generous review. The Aspire lounge has a great deal to aspire to. We went to this lounge as a benefit of Priority Pass. While things such as showers are shown as an amenity, it will cost you £20 for 30 minutes. The seating is limited, dirty and cold. They do not clear dirty plates often. The area is open air to the rest of the airport, so quite loud and cold. The floors are sticky and there aren't great smells in the lounge area. The food was a bit dismal. Before 11 AM we expected to get breakfast. We tired to take some breakfast as there was plenty left, but the staff wanted to clear it and literally took it away as we were trying to serve ourselves. The bar situation is unclear. You can find juices and water for self service as well as coffee and tea. Drinks, I suspect will have a price, but it was quite unclear and not worth bothering. Do not pay to go to the lounge. You are better off paying for a nicer lounge if you have to pay. Only come here if it is free and you have nothing better to do. read more

The lounge is small. If there are delays and cancellations (like there are today), expect to be placed on a waitlist to enter. There are no restrooms and no showers inside the lounge (effective beginning of March). The WiFi is slow (downright unusable when max capacity) so dont expect to do much aside from emails. (Even as Im typing this review, my connection is unstable.) There are refreshments that you can help yourself to during your visit. There's a coffee machine where you can choose various types of coffee. Or if you dont want to be caffeinated, there are juices and sodas available as well. And if you want some liquid courage to conquer your fear of flying (or simply to forget how long your delay is), there is a full bar. Hot food (such as soup and pasta for lunch or scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast ) and cold food (salad / yogurt) are both readily available. The taste of food/drinks are decent so no conplaints there. If you have a Priority Pass, this is your lounge. Overall, alright but small and the connection is a bummer. I understand why so many people rate this place so low - if you either a) paid cash for your visit, or b) tried to use your Priority Pass, and were rebuffed because it was full, then your visit is going to suck. We have a Chase Sapphire Preffered card, which is supposed to enable you to visit a list of lounges, this one included. But they didn't tell me that you need the *physical Priority Pass card* to get in, which I didn't have because we had left for our trip before I could order it. Chase will reimburse you for your lounge visits for *one trip* to compensate you for this mix up. So we got the best of both worlds - a paid-for reservation - complete with velvet rope and private VIP area! - but we didn't have to *actually* pay for it because we got reimbursed. If we didn't have this perfect storm of good fortune, I am sure I'd be on the two-star train. I really love this lounge. It's super spacious, has a BLISS SPA!!, and always has some good variety. The bummer is that they charge for their alcohol. But they do sell you premium bottles of bubbly! They also charge 20£ for 30 minute access to the showers. It's conveniently located in T5 at Heathrow right next to gate A18. So it's a quick pop in trip to shower, get a massage, grab a quick bite and then pop over to your gate. They have a great selection of food for breakfast. Traditional British breakfast, cereal, yogurt, it's great! They also have a few espresso machines that makes really good hot chocolate. Biggest perk, it's including with your Priority Pass! Lots of power stations to charge up! They have EU and UK power ports and USB for those that don't have a converter. The woman who was here at the front desk on June 9th 2018 at opening time is awful. But the other staff is great. She was very condescending and was trying to charge people when you get a free guest entry with Priority pass. read more

Kind of a sucky lounge, as others have described. Got here in the morning and it was PACKED. I don't know why they don't regulate attendees like so many other lounges do...because they should. It was sort of hard looking for seats, but noticed that if you are patient, there is enough movement that you will find a spot. The food isn't stellar, but it is varied and abundant and the staff do a great job of replenishing it and clearing plates. It rarely got low and despite the relatively small size of the bar to the guest size, it was always in good supply. read more

Expensive showers, slow WiFi, no bathroom and PEPSI! I visited the Aspire lounge in terminal 5 on an early and long layover. Entry on the priority pass wasn't an issue. Breakfast was going with scrambled eggs, bacon, baked beans, bread and cereal with coffee machines, post mix soft drink, juices and lemon bitters. Lunch came around with pastas, cheeses, quiche and a rice/pork dish. Overall the food was pretty good. There is a lot of seating with a bit of variety but it is also a very busy lounge with an odd L- shaped layout. It was also surprisingly warm throughout our visit which was a bit uncomfortable. Overall food was good, staff friendly but the lack of a bathroom and a couple other things make this lounge not up to scratch. read more

This lounge is okay, it's not much better than sitting in Heathrow Terminal 5 unless you want a free bag of chips, some tea/coffee, some water or some snacks. If you have access to here for free, then it's fine (via Priority Pass, etc), but I certainly wouldn't spend my own money to come here. If you come for breakfast, they will have some croissants, cereal, eggs, some bread, yogurt - very basic items and nothing to really write home about. It's been a while since I've been there in the afternoon but I remember they had some cheese and crackers, fruit, and chips. The food selection is quite limited, so don't expect to come here and fill up for lunch and/or dinner - you're best getting something else in the terminal. The seats are also very limited and you'll find yourself scavenging for a seat, and likely very close to the people next to you. They don't have a ton of power outlets either. All in all, it's fine if you want to spend 30-45 min in here grabbing a drink or a snack, but to be honest, Terminal 5 is nice and this lounge is only slightly better than being outside in the Terminal. read more

Beware. We paid 80 euro ($97) to spend 3 hours here on a layover. After paying we were told that the lounge was full but we could sit in another waiting area. The other area was a tiny room with 3 tables and 6 chairs, no food or beverages. We were told we could go into the main room to get food but would have to take it back to our small room. It was crowded and some of the people in there had been waiting 2 of their 3 hours hoping to get into the large lounge area. It was claustrophobic. Meanwhile the desk was letting some people into the main room (possibly club members, I'm not sure.) I asked if we were in the queue to move to the main area, and was told IF space opened up they MIGHT let us move in there. When we went to get some beverages, we saw that there were dozens of empty tables and seats in the large lounge. So we just grabbed our bags and moved, and no one said anything. If we had stayed in the tiny room it wouldn't have been worth a dollar. Very misleading. Once we were in the main room, there was a nice buffet and complementary beverages including beer and wine. The wait staff was very nice. There are bathrooms (clean) and a shower (which we did not check out.). When we first arrived we were instructed to scan a code to go on a 40 minute waiting list, but we got called in about 25 minutes. They kept our boarding passes to make sure we didn't overstay without paying for another 3 hours. read more

I was here as a member of the Priority Pass with a 3 hour layover at Heathrow. Reception was very welcoming. We came in just after the breakfast and lunch was beginning. Nice to start with a glass of Prosecco. Service was good and lots of outlets for work and charging. Spa and showers were available but I did not use them. The lounge can get crowded but there are always people leaving to catch flights. I am going to stop by on my return trip in a few weeks. read more

Well, this one has the basics. There is seating along with complimentary drinks and food. However, the seating can be limited due to this being a small lounge in a busy airport, and the hot food is just okay. There are no bathrooms, but there are showers available for a charge. Also, the Bliss Spa is permanently closed, but a spa is not necessary in a lounge. I was able to get in here on a morning before my flight, and the lounge was busy. Despite that, I managed to find a seat. The food is buffet-style and plentiful: eggs, bacon, ham, cereal, etc. Non-alcoholic drinks are self-serve, and alcohol is served at the bar. Overall, this lounge is not glamorous or anything, but it gives you the basics if you can get a seat and some hot food. If you have Priority Pass or any other membership, great. We came to London from California after a 11 hour flight and a 5 hour layover. We were exhausted and they let after 3 tries and it was underwhelming at best. The food was meh as well. Aspire Lounge is quiet and comfortable. Head and shoulders above the mayhem of the terminal. Food is fine - limit selection but fresh. If you are not a picky eater or have food allergies you should be fine. Coffee is good - from those machines that make decent espresso. Drink selection extremely limited. There are lots of electrical outlets and USB plugins but many of the USBs didn't work. Seats are reasonably comfortable. It was pretty crowded the morning I was there but still felt calm. Service is very pleasant and it is clean. BBBUUUTTTT... there are no toilets in the lounge. You have to exit the lounge and use the restrooms I'm the terminal. Seriously. And then you have to interact with the front desk again to re-enter. read more

We had the opportunity to visit the Aspire Lounge in Ottawa last Friday, October 22, 2021. Of all the priority pass lounges we've visited this was the worst. Never again. To think they would have charged $50, and I used 2 passes, blows my mind. I get that we're in the midst of a global pandemic, and the buffet was closed, but that's no excuse for serving really bad food. Canned tomato soup, water, not milk. The chicken wrap was a 6" tortilla, flaccid iceberg lettuce, not too much, pink tomatoes, and those chicken strips (2) that Costco sells, with the fake char marks. They were barely defrosted, and looked like a three year old had wrapped them. Now the drinks - we were warned that there was a three drink limit. Apparently a glass of wine is only 3 ounces now. When it arrived it looked like what I typically send to the kitchen at the end of the meal. As I said before. I get that we're in the middle of a pandemic, but this lounge is setting itself up for failure once it's over. Don't do it. read more

Meh. I've definitely experienced better airport lounges with the Priority Pass. When we visited, the lounge seemed overly filled and we could barely find seats at all. My wife and I were traveling from Inverness to Boston, and we took a regional flight to Heathrow. We were able to relax in the T5 Aspire lounge using my Priority Pass. The lounge was very crowded and somewhat loud, but the free amenities made it worth while. I was able to grab some food, beer, and Scotch over the hour or so that we were in there. The food was serviceable, the drink was good, and the bartender was helpful. We were in the lounge around 9AM and it was crowded, so I am sure that it is even busier during peak hours. Your mileage may vary, but I would definitely return to this lounge again if we had another layover at Heathrow. read more

My Chase credit cards have this perk called the Priority Pass that gives you access to "more than 900 lounges worldwide." Sounds awesome in theory, but after about 3 years I hadn't been able to enjoy this perk. The airports Priority Pass has lounges in are few and far between on US soil. Imagine my excitement when a recent layover at London Heathrow afforded me the opportunity to finally cash in on some free nibbles and drinks while charging my phone. Well, unfortunately I was pretty darn underwhelmed during my visit here. Maybe being pumped up on how amazing the Centurion Lounge is had an effect on my experience? Perhaps because it was tough to find a dish that wasn't dirty or food that was above high school cafeteria quality, or even a charger that actually worked, but over all I agree with most of the other reviewers. This lounge should pay attention to their title and Aspire to be a little better. At the end of the day, I did get a few free beers so it wasn't all bad, but I'm sure if I would have had to pay out of pocket for this experience I would have been pissed. read more

It's okay, but really leaves a lot to be desired. It's very small and has an awkward wraparound layout which made it a sojourn to find seating all the way in the back. It was quite crowded, even at 7:00, and when we checked in our boarding pass was held at the desk--which made me feel very uncomfortable and isn't an experience I've had in previous lounges. I had no complaints with the breakfast served--sausage (and vegetarian sausage!), eggs and bacon, porridge and cereal. The croissants were absolutely delicious and came out warm. The bar however was totally deserted for all three hours I was there; not sure what was going on but I left without the drink I'd been hoping for. Perhaps because it was so crowded, it felt like the staff was having trouble keeping up with the empty plates and cups. I'd skip it, if you have another option for lounge access. read more

This place is truly awful. It is advertised as a "spa" but the spa is closed down. The outlets do not work and there is little to no room to sit comfortably. This places blows. You might as well just try to find a spot to lie down in the terminal. A complete scam to trick weary travelers into thinking it's a "plush spa and lounge" but it's literally just some semi-decent chairs to sit in a packed space, along with some mediocre food. The "spa" is just a random tiny room with one of those kneel-down massage chairs you see at the mall, with nobody in there to massage you anyway! No bathroom, no places to lay down, tons of people, expensive, and pointless. I'd literally only come here again if it was free- just so I could grab a quick alcoholic beverage and drown my disappointment in mankind for making such a shit lounge. I paid 60 pounds to get in here because of a 7 hour layover! I would've been better off looking for a conveyor belt to lie down on. London's premiere scam. read more

Well, it's a place to sit away from the crowds and it does have a small selection of complimentary food and drinks. There is also free wi-fi, but you get that in the airport anyway. Seating is limited, and it always seems that many of the seats are reserved. Speaking of the seats, none of them are comfortable, not even the lounge chairs. Looking for a place to charge your electronics? Good luck! They have lots of plug ins and USB ports. The problem is that 80% of them do not work. All in all, if you can get in here for free because you already have a membership that gets you in, it's better than sitting out in the airport. I wouldn't pay to get in here though. read more

Two weeks later I stopped at Aspire Lounge again because I had a 3 hour layover at Heathrow. It was great at 630am. Traditional English breakfast was out along with a large assortment of other foods. Of all the lounges around the world I have visited, I am ashamed as a British citizen that LHR has such a shockingly awful lounge. Let's start at the beginning; a 45 minute wait (that ended up becoming over an hour), a staff member -Raff Chi was his name - who decided manners were beneath him and not only offended me and numerous other passengers, but then came out and started hurling abuse across the terminal. Yeh, really. Followed by an overcrowd lounge (it's LONDON! Why did they make the lounge so small?!?), and one poor guy left to serve drinks AND clear tables?? It was a disaster. I ended up speaking to the manager - who was called Carlos - about Raff's behavior. He seemed genuinely concerned about what had happened and said he would speak with him, but of the 7 reviews here on Yelp, at least half mirror my sentiment, which is a worrying trend. If you have the ability to go to the BA lounge, or anywhere else in the airport, go. This place is a shit show with rude employees, an overcrowded lounge and a long wait at the bar. Staff were busy but not clearing tables despite several people asking them to & some even aknowledging that the tables needs cleared & cleaned. Bar intermittently staffed despite the crowds.
