We came here on a Sunday. The place was busy. The service was underwhelming. It took 10 minutes to order and another 30 minutes to get our food. The Server check on us once and ignored us every time we tried to flag her down. The food was okay. The steak and egg was overcooked. The French toast was very small in portions. Favorite bar to get a drink. They must have a really good connection with the breweries because they have the best rotating drafts. I'll be drinking trillium to vitamin sea one week to Widowmaker and kcbc the next. It's always great. Food here is amazing as well. I have not been disappointed over the past gazillion times I've been here to eat dinner. Service is always on point as well. When it comes to burgers, I suspect a lot of places are afraid when someone asks for it cooked medium. They worry Gordon Ramsay is going to burst in, and start screaming left and right. Stopped in here during my lunch hour. When I was indecisive between the Buffalo chicken wrap and burger, server recommended the latter. Fries were quite good. They were fresh out of the fryer (not heat lamp), and were seasoned nicely. The burger however was a let down. After the first little bit of juice came out, the remainder of the patty was quite dry. I suspect it wasn't just accidentally cooked well done, but overcooked. Furthermore, I would have liked a little more seasoning. The veggies on the burger were A-OK. I liked that the lettuce was actually crunchy, and that they did not skimp on the bacon! I wouldn't go as far as to say it was overlooked, but close to it. Bread was unremarkable. I will give them props for it not falling apart, but with an overlooked, dry patty, almost any bread will hold up. The location was clean, and the service was nice and fairly fast. read more

Love this place!! I have ordered salads and sandwiches and the drinks are always great. I especially like the waitstaff and bartenders each time I have visited. My latest favorite are the crispy chicken tacos with fries or rice. The chipotle dressing is addictive and so delicious The restaurant is beautiful and I like to visit as often as I can. Stylish Restaurant with good food and welcoming staff. Went here for dinner on a Monday evening, place was pretty empty. Assembly has some of the best food on Hancock St. Great salads and burgers. Unfortunately, I have about a 50% success rate in receiving my correct takeout/delivery order in the four years I've been eating here. It's not little things like adding or subtracting an ingredient from a certain dish, but just flat out wrong orders. It is so often that I almost expect it to be wrong. My advice is always check your order before leaving and never order from Door Dash, Uber Eats, etc because you will not be able to receive a new and correct order. Assembly is my go to, When I want something I know will always be decent I go there. Past few times the wait has been crazy while seated, the waitresses are clearly busy and covering large sections, but still a long wait. Recently went in and sat at the bar while "waiting for a table" the hostess never took our name, so we decided to eat at the bar. Got an app at the bar, wanted to order food, finished our drinks. The bartender did not make eye contact with us once, stood at the end talking, and never asked if we wanted food or another drink. We ended up asking for the bill and going to eat somewhere else. BUT in the meantime the poor girl next to me hated her margarita and told the bartender she didn't like it and the bartender said "well I can't return it but I can give you something to add" and handed her a side of OJ.. poor girl told me it still sucked. read more

Drink was good. Food was not. Calamari wasn't seasoned and was bland. Mentioned it to the bartender. Ordered the rack of lamb med rare and got a well done one instead. Wrote a review about Assembly in March 2021. We continue to return here and it is a South Shore favorite. Fun, lively atmosphere. Nicely decorated, pub-like feel. I like all the energy there. I love getting the haddock scallopini. I always ask to have it over roasted vegetables vs. rice and pasta, which they always accommodate. The roasted veg are crazy, yummy. Simple review: It's the best flatbread I've ever had in my entire life. I was completely floored. I was a pizza chef for 2 years. Flatbreads are typically janky, cheap excuses for pizza. However, This is veggies out of a bag... I have them in my freezer right now they cost under a dollar. Also, randomly some honey mustard in the bottom of the bag. This was the most expensive meal we ordered, the tacos and chicken Parm were fine... but the meal above is a joke that ended up being $21 with fees. $60 total. Disappointed to say the least... also Husband just finished his meal and i noticed my "red wine" braised short rib is actually covered in what looks and tastes like the same red sauce he has left in bottom of his container from the Chicken Parm, DOES NOT TASTE GOOD WITH SHORTRIBS... my entire meal is inedible. read more

My family and I have been regular customers for years. The waitstaff, hostess & bartenders are always GREAT! No complaints there at all. Normally I would give the Assembly a 5 star rating. Lately I feel that that food has gone down hill especially the salmon salad that I order at least once a week. The dressing has changed for the worse & there is no longer the sweet glaze that was on the salmon. The portions have also gotten smaller. The waitress we had last night I have to say went above & beyond trying to find me the old kens dressing unfortunately you no longer order it. I'm not sure why unless it's the cost. If thats the case I would be happy to pay the up charge. I'm hoping the new owners are working out the kinks & I can give the Assembly a 5 STAR review. I just came back to this place after about two years and was super excited as I remembered the food was great. However this time I have nothing but bad things to say unfortunately. Our waitress took over 15 min to come and greet us and another 10 min to bring over water. She seemed to have a bad attitude and seemed to not care. She messed up my food order and the food was mediocre at best. I asked the food runner that dropped off our food to fix my order. She turned and walked away. We had brunch here today for the first time and it was so good! Siobhan was our server and she was very attentive. She greeted us right away and quickly served our drinks. She checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed throughout the dining experience. She had a wonderful demeanor she was very nice. The bartender also seemed to be very skilled as we observed everyone at the bar was enjoying their drinks and food and the servers didn't seem to have to wait to long for their drinks. The food was delicious! I enjoyed the tomato soup and the macaroni and cheese and my husband had the Birds Nest. The food came out hot and very timely with a great presentation.
