Bay Pointe removes both claws from the lobster which I appreciate and puts the whole claw meat under the stuffing mix. On this particular day only 1 claw was found. When I inquired about the missing claw I was told it was cut up in the stuffing mix. First of all, I have been to this restaurant many times ordering this same dish. So, tell me why 1 claw meat would be cut up and not the other one. Once the explanation was given it was utterly bull. I've never had the claw meat cut up and mixed in with the stuffing and as far as I'm concerned it should never be an option to do that. If so, I probably would not order this dish anymore. I want to see my claws in it's entirety and not cut up. Bottom line lobsters have 2 claws not 1. Both should have been in the dish and basically it wasn't. This will not deter me from coming to this establishment, but please think about your response before providing an answer that doesn't make any sense. I can't wait for the patio to open so I can enjoy the outdoor rays.

After putting our names on the waitlist for an outdoor table, we hoped to wait near the outdoor bar in case seats opened up. We were told by the veteran short brown-haired bartender to move elsewhere, which we did. Later, when I returned to close our tab, I noticed several other guests standing in the exact same area where we had been told we could not wait. What bothered us most was not the wait, but the inconsistent treatment and dismissive attitude we encountered. When I mentioned the situation to the hostess as we were leaving, she immediately seemed to know which bartender I was referring to and apologized for our experience. We understand busy restaurants have policies to manage crowds, but after years of enjoying Bay Point, this interaction left us feeling unwelcome. Unfortunately, we do not plan to return.

Dotty's is delightful!…read more Everything you want from a restaurant Dotty's has. Formerly known as The Townshend, this Quincy local restaurant is the best place for exceptional service, fantastic food, creative cocktails and am Ambiance that will sure impress any date. This might be my 3rd or 5th review because why not! When you find a place that you love you brag about it. For starters we shared their fried pickles with their homemade ranch dressing. We also love their stuffed dates. For entrees, I had their Salmon which is always cooked to perfection. My husband's had their Steak Frites which he enjoyed very much. Dessert is always a tough choice since all of them are excellent but this time we went with their brownie sundae. After plenty of glasses of wine and some dirty martinis let's just say we didn't want to leave but it was getting late. If you have never been to Dotty's or their other restaurants I highly recommend checking them out! Cheers

Met up with some good friends in Quincy and we're looking for a place to eat. Conveniently located by the Quincy Center stop, this place was great! We were seated quickly without a reservation (though clearly it can get popular, we showed up at 5:30 and by 6 the place was full of reserved parties!) and our server was very helpful. We got the fried calamari and the steak tartare as starters. While the calamari itself was crunchy and nicely lightly battered and fried, I would guesstimate that about 50% of the dish was actually calamari. The rest of the fried bits were carrot coins, lemon slices (with the seeds still in...) and what I think were pieces of poblano peppers. This honestly felt disappointing as the portion was quite small to start, and then for half of it to be miscellaneous fried veggies felt like it wasn't a great deal. The steak tartare was also an extremely tiny portion, with the plate heavily populated by arugula leaves and six tiny toasts. Not the most generous portions here unfortunately. I got the steak frites as my main. The steak itself was presently beautifully with a peppercorn sauce poured over it. However, I was looking for the salt shaker because the steak was quite underseasoned. While it looked like a good medium rare cook (how I ordered it) with a great looking sear, I had quite a bit of chew work to do getting through the gristly bits. The fatty side cap was a bit chewy and could have used some direct searing. The oysters were delicious! Not even a little bit of grit, with a very onion-heavy mignonette as an accompaniment. We didn't order much from the raw bar due to my friends' tastes but I feel like this would probably be the reason I come back another time with different people! I could have definitely been happier with the food here. But again don't sleep on the raw bar and if you're looking for a nice place to hang for an evening, overall great vibes here!

Our tasty travels continue... We walked in to this well…read moredecorated seafood house and could already tell it's a popular local spot. Our waitress Jess had our drinks going in no time and as some of you know dining with kids can be challenging and sometimes getting food in front them asap is important. She had her order in and moving asap and that chicken tender meal out asap. Little yelper said they were the "best ever"... we questioned that and I tried a small piece and yep they were fresh and some of the best we can recall in recent dining experiences. There were several bowls of the clam chowder around the table and everyone was in full agreement that it was fantastic. Rich flavor and a healthy amount of clam and potatoes in the each spoonful. The fish and chips, it was a healthy portion of fish, fries and the coleslaw. Well done fish and the tartar sauce was fantastic. The chicken dinner was a heaping mound of chicken bacon and mashed potatoes with a side of corn. It tasted as great as it looked. A fish Reuben? Yep. Again another treat for the tastebuds just like the shrimp tacos. I don't do 5 often but this place definitely deserves it. Freshness, flavor and service all were spot on. Highly recommend visiting off the hook.

A hidden gem. Live music, good food, easy parking. We will be back for sure. The decor was fun too.read more

I've tried a number of seafood boils around MA and Cap't Loui is definitely one of the better ones…read more We had shrimp and mussels with medium Cap't Loui sauce and lemon pepper and added garlic noodles and sausage. They sell by the half pound or pound with their prices listed on the walls in the restaurant based on their current market prices. The portions felt like a lot for what we ordered as we split about three pounds of seafood between three people and were all stuffed. The mussels were big and shrimp were very fresh and clean. The medium sauce was not too spicy and it also came with a potato and small corn on the cob. I thought their garlic noodles were not as good as I've had at other seafood boils, but they do not skimp on the garlic! The restaurant has a spacious front dining area where you enter from the mall with tables for larger parties and the back area where there are a lot of tables for smaller groups. All tables are lined with paper as you'd expect from a seafood boil restaurant and they use all plastic ware and cups. The service was relatively quick and attentive and they also give you gloves, bib, and a bucket for the shells as you eat. I recommend ordering combos as a group if you are hungry as you get free sides depending on how many pounds you order.

The boil bags came out hot, saucy, and loaded with flavor, and the cajun sauce was the backbone of the whole experience. I started with the shrimp, mussel, and sausage combination, a strong starting point for a first bag. The corn and potatoes that came along for the ride soaked up the sauce well and were worth finishing before I moved on. I added the garlic noodles to my order, and they held up as a side that actually contributed to the meal rather than just filling space on the table. The lemon pepper fries were another solid addition, well seasoned and crispy in a way that made them easy to keep picking at throughout the meal. Snow crab and lobster are on the menu for when you want to push the order into higher territory, and the king crab legs are a standout if you are willing to spend for them. Service was attentive and the staff were patient about walking me through the menu and the process, which made the experience comfortable even though it was my first time doing a seafood boil. A fun, satisfying meal that earns its following.

My dinner companion had eyes on the fried shrimp and I on the fish and chips so we were eager to go back for another try. Our server remembered us from our previous/failed visit. He was extremely nice, knowledgeable of the menu, and quite helpful as we contemplated our predetermined selections: fried shrimp and fish & chips! The restaurant was somewhat empty which made for a comfortable and quiet dining experience. Our beers were delivered cold and quickly. And our meal came out rather quickly as well. My fish was breaded nicely and had a good crisp to it. The fish tasted fresh and was flakey just as it should be. My companion's shrimp were excellent. They were huge, fresh, sweet, and juicy with a crisp breading. The shrimp dish is actually big enough to share. The fries were good but not the best on the island.
