I normally get it for my menorrhagia which affects me physically & mentally. I have anxiety & depression so when it comes monthly it's even worse for me. Dr. Martin T Sechrist literally tells me to get on birth control to control it, I tell him it doesn't help. I've done pills, patches & the nuva ring. I've had this problem since I was 13! I know it doesn't help! I don't even want to get on birth control. HE WOULDN'T ACCEPT NO, Instead he continues to say I haven't tried the right one. I've never felt so pressured in my life by any doctor to do something I don't want to do, I tell him he's making me emotional. I start feeling stressed, frustrated, ignored, literally everything! I begin to cry because he's not listening to me & continues to pressure me into seeing my obgyn to try all sorts of birth controls because apparently I haven't had the right one. Why isn't he listening to me!?! He then tells me he can't help me since I don't want birth control! He walks out with my paperwork. A girl comes in a bit after & gives me a follow up appointment.....for what!? I tell her he has my paperwork, I want my paperwork back. He comes back in, gives me my paperwork & says he didn't mean to make me emotional. If you didn't, then you wouldn't have been repeating over & over I need birth control. Instead you ignore your patient! I begin walking out saying that's a lie, you're trying to force me to go on birth control when I keep saying I don't want it. As I'm walking out saying he's a liar, HE LAUGHS!!! YUP HE LAUGHS!!! AS IF EVERYTHING THAT JUST HAPPENED WAS A DAMN JOKE TO HIM! I know for sure next few days this is going to be bothering me, I've been crying in my car since I left! I don't feel safe going back here for myself or for my child!

They gave me paperwork to go have my bloodwork done at Unilab, which is now Quest. There's a large group of interns at this practice that work under Dr. Seachrist and Dr. Schneider. The intern that gave me my paperwork apparently coded the bloodwork to be done with the wrong codes. It was billed as routine. Medicare denied the claim as did my secondary insurance. Early February 2024 I received a bill for close to $500 from the lab for my bloodwork. I called the Quest billing department, they stated that it was coded wrong and that was the reason Medicare denied my claim. The lab billing department gave me 45 days to clear it up with the doctors office. I took my paperwork (medicare billing summary and a copy of the lab bill) in to the doctors office had the front office staff person make copies, told them what the issue was, and asked them if they would help to take care of/resubmit with proper codes, etc. I left my phone number and all my information. This was the end of February 2024. I have heard nothing.. so I called two weeks later. No one was available to take my call and my wait time was going to be 79 minutes. I left another message. No return call. I decided to write a letter, directly to Dr. Sechrist...maybe that would get better attention and get the ball rolling in the right direction. No response, no phone call, nothing. I don't have that kind of money. I've never had my bloodwork denied by my insurance before. I never received my results from the doctors office. They told me if I heard from them there was an issue, and if I didn't hear anything that was good news. This is not a good way to run a medical practice. I do not recommend this medical group.

I was told on Wednesday that the doctor's note was going to be ready on the portal or at the office to be picked up to give to work because it's 2 weeks. It was not ready. I left 3 message on the portal and 1 at the office yesterday and today 1 in the portal and 1 in the front desk saying it was urgent. I didn't get a call back so I just called the nurses line and I told her the situation and she said I had to wait until Tuesday when she is back in the office! I asked if there is any other way because I've been waiting since yesterday morning and I really need it for work since it's 2 weeks. I need to send it today by 5 or my 3 days off from work will not be approved. I asked her if there was anything else that can be done and she didn't answer me until I just said I guess I'm going to have to wait til Tuesday in a sad voice. She said "right" and then "have a good day". No this is not a good day. Now I have to wait until Tuesday! That is 1 week without giving my work proof I am being seen by a doctor and need 2 weeks off! There is always water, fruit juice, mints, and WiFi password available to you. The reading selection is mostly self-help materials. However, I am in love with the neutral colors of the architecture in here. I was amazed at the level of service by the staff, Angie, the phlebotomist, Julia, and certainly not but least, the person that found my life threatening problem, Dr. Jenny Kim. Angie will always greet me with a smile. Positive and bubbly, she is an effervescent character. Julia has a great disposition as a phlebotomist. Listening to my stories but also, being one of the few that can draw my blood as my veins tend to be shy and "hide." It takes a skilled phlebotomist to do that. That certainly is a reflection of her skill. She can also take your EKG with no problem. She has a docile and amicable personality. Dr. Jenny Kim has to be the most knowledgeable physician I have ever met. She is a big proponent of a healthy lifestyle with lots of water intake. As I am familiar with medical background, I appreciate the high level of medical discussion upon my medical health. I never felt once that she was condescending to me at all, but instead, treated me as one of those who understands his health the best. After all, I know my anatomical, physiological body well. She will listen to your conversations, while putting a treatment plan and diagnosis at the end. Even virtual visits feel like she ask how you are and remember your last conversation. After which, she goes straight into your medical problem. In fact, she was the one that ordered a diagnostic MRI that saved my life! I would not have been functioning in a month without that diagnosis and emergent surgical intervention. I also remembered the time Dr. Jenny checked up on a choking patient outside the office. It was cool seeing her put her medical knowledge to use before the firefighters and ambulance came 10 minutes later. All-in-all, I am sad to hear the news that she will be leaving One Medical Bella Terra but appreciate all the years she has medically assessed me. She brought my weight, cholesterol, and blood pressure down with a gentle titration that was highly effective. Most of it was just patient education but it was helpful. No sugars, fats, or processed food with lots of water intake. I will miss her!

When I moved down here I realized it was not the same One Medical. I have been to two different offices and had virtual visits. The truth is, it is convenient to have the one medical app and communicate with someone at almost any time. I give "one medical" that. Today I had a virtual visit with Dr. Kim. She was very short and almost dismissive. The visit must have lasted 5 minutes because of how quickly she shut me down. Almost talking down to me, as if I was some sort of drug seeker. I didn't even have a chance to explain my situation. I honestly don't usually post bad reviews... you can visit my profile and see... I'm usually a 5 start kinda girl. But today, I left the visit feeling awful about myself, like I had done something wrong. I'm absolutely sure... even if she couldn't help me, there was a better way to handle the situation, so I didn't come out of it feeling so awful. As a patient, we are very vulnerable when we open up about our medical problems, especially mental health ones. I think Dr. Kim forgets that, or maybe today was just a bad day. I don't know if visits are recorded, but if they are, I hope they go through mine and break it down. I will never book a visit again with Dr. Kim. If you or your medical condition make you feel vulnerable, I'd think twice about seeing her. Choose someone else, don't risk it. And to your Dr. Kim, I'm sure you'll read this message, you'll know who I am. I hope you reflect on how our visit went and learn from it. His main focus of the assessment was not for my needs but discussing why I was 'estranged' from my religious faith. He told me that I should have not married my husband who is from a different faith, and was questioning why my children are not baptized. This was my first ever encounter with this physician. When completing a depression screening and asking about my libido, he stated that I was waiting for my husband to divorce me. He stated that I needed to stop breast feeding so he could prescribe me a different antidepressant that would increase my libido and that my "husband would thank me." Had I been in a different field myself and be very impressionable by medical staff, this appointment could have truly caused damage to my personal life.
