The McDonald's of dermatology offices. If all you need is a quick appointment, this place will probably fit the bill. If you want a thorough skin exam and a doctor who actually takes the time to evaluate you, look elsewhere. This was my first visit, and it felt completely rushed. The doctor was in the room for maybe 5-7 minutes total, with only a few minutes spent actually looking at my skin. I left wondering how anyone could perform a meaningful skin exam that quickly. They removed a chunk of skin from my back and then sent me on my way with no aftercare instructions. No guidance on wound care, what to watch for, or when to be concerned. That's basic patient care. Getting my biopsy results was another headache. I had to jump through hoops just to gain access to their patient portal, only to find the results weren't even in the "Results" section--they were buried in my inbox as a message. Seriously... WTF? The only positive thing I can say is that the people I spoke with on the phone were friendly, and they had an appointment available quickly. Now I understand why. They proudly advertise 30 years of experience, but my visit felt more like an assembly line than personalized medical care. I won't be back, and I definitely wouldn't recommend this office to anyone looking for quality dermatologic care. I have the most horrible experience I've ever had in my life the nurse practitioner Kim was very abrasive and a bit of rudeness. They did not call me or upon me checking in review cost although they my insurance prior to me seeing the doctor so at the they for an amount of money that seemed unfair for the 60 secondsthat I spoke to her. Saw Dr Annette Murphy who referred me to the surgical team who gave me an appointment for 6 weeks out. Tried calling Dr Murphy to let her know I shouldn't wait that long for lesion removal as it was growing in size. I left 3 messages for but nobody returned the calls so I guess nobody cared. DO NOT RECOMMEND! Don't even TRY! Extremely unprofessional STAFF. Altamonte Location First visit we got an biopsy, after three weekS we went to see results, we were told we needed surgery. We were told that the surgery team was going to give us a call back, if not then we needed to call to schedule a surgery. We called back in 5 days, left messages several times, never received a call back. We went in person to the Altamonte office to ask about the surgery appointment and the reception lady (a blond heavy girl) told us that our health insurance does not cover our surgery but it does cover the appointments. So we asked her what we should do. She said that we need to wait for next appointment to ask the DOCTOR. Same day in the afternoon we receive a call for a surgery appointment. We notify the lady over the phone what the receptionist told us earlier that day, that our health insurance does not cover surgery. She said that she shouldn't told us that at all. She called the Altamonte Office but nobody answered, she was going to call us the next day to follow up and never call us back. SURGERY was never scheduled. Today we got our appointment, we explained what happened to us to the DOCTORS assistance, she communicated to the DOCTOR what happened. When she came back she gave us another phone number to make a surgery appointment since it is really hard to get hold on to the surgery staff and that she Was NOT sure if what we told her was TRUE OR FALCE, she literally told me " I am not sure who is telling the true". Since I told her that the FRONT lady told me that they don't take the health insurance and apparently they do. VERY unprofessional, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, POOR communication skills, NEVER COMING BACK! read more

I saw Dr. Annette Murphy back in November and she was really great! The office was conveniently located, the staff was friendly and helpful and I was seen right away. She answered all of my questions and I was happy with my visit. The reason for this somewhat negative review is what I experienced when I began the process of having a small cyst removed from my head via this medical group. I asked Dr. Murphy and the office staff how much a procedure like this would cost. I realize it can be difficult to gauge the cost of medical procedures due to differences in insurance companies and policies as well as unforeseen medical complications however I feel as though I was either taken advantage of or marginalized in this situation. I was assured it would only cost $50 but in the end I paid $50 for the initial cost of the procedure, $50 to a pathologist in Gainesville and they tried to charge me another $50 to return and have my stitches removed (I had a nurse friend remove them instead for free)! That's triple what I was originally told. On top of this I was scheduled for an appointment at noon in their Lake Underhill office, I waited over an hour to be seen. They didn't begin my appointment until I approached the receptionist to request a refund and that my appointment be cancelled. I had prepaid, arrived early and pre-filled all of my forms on their patient portal. I really only had an hour long lunch break but that should have been plenty of time to have this 15-20 procedure completed. I had to take an hour of PTO in order to cover the length of time they made me sit in the waiting room. After I was taken back to have my procedure I was told that they had limited space on Fridays and that time was always tight. That is in no way an excuse. If they didn't have time for me they should not have scheduled me. This was a controllable situation and they choose to waste my time as if it was worth less than theirs. I'll reiterate that the physicians and staff were knowledgeable, kind and helped me when I voiced my concerns but there are a lot of Dermatologists in Orlando and price transparency and scheduling are important to me. This may be the medical field but I am still a consumer and I deserve to be treated better from the beginning, not just after I complain. In the future I will vote with my dollars and spend my money with another medical group. read more

My husband is a double above the knee amputee diabetic on dialysis. He has 2 skin cancers that need to be removed. It took many weeks to get an apt. For biopsy and i had to call after 3 weeks because they didnt call with results as promised. They did completly opposite of everything we agreed on.The first Basel cell on arm. We were told it would be mohs. And it was instead a 15 min. Surgery where they cut out 3 inches of skin, left a 4 inch incision that had to be immediatly opened back up because they cut an artery. I was apalled at the extreme lack of septic technique. No masks no gowns, propped on used pillow slight dabbing of alcohol next to wound to prepare skin. I am afraid my husband might lose a third limb to infection because of their carelessness. Awful place and hate that we have to go back to get stitches removed if he's by God's grace doesnt get an infection.i was even told to put vaseline on the wound if i had some around the house. read more

My experience at the Altamonte Springs office has been nothing a success! After years of trying different dermatologists, Annette and Sandra have been such a pleasure to deal with. Annette is especially attentive to me as a patient and is always willing to take the time to listen, which is unusual when going to visit any doctor these days; most just want to get you in and out in a flash. Annette takes care to find the best solution for my skin which had always been severely acne prone. But now, my skin is getting so much better! Thank you Annette and team, you guys rock!! read more

I recently saw Annette Murphy at the Altamonte office for a skin screening. I was greeted by Carol, who was very pleasant and upbeat. She made me feel at ease from the moment I walked in and explained the paperwork and co pay questions I had. My appointment was at 9.30 and Sandra, Annette's nurse called me back at 9.35. I was pleasantly surprised that my appointment was on time. Not that I would have minded waiting, since that is normally how that goes at a doctors office. Sandra was very professional, explained procedures and answered any questions I had with knowledge. Annette is a very smart and detail oriented person, she was very pleasant to talk to and answered my questions and concerns. She gave me information brochures, samples of creams and i left with a good peace of min. I felt that all of my concerns were addressed and Sandra and Annette listened to all of my concerns.
