    Aston Martin DB11 Volante - Incredible stable comfort with a power to throw around

    Looking for exotic cars should be fun. I visited 5 new dealers & 2 used dealers around Newport over a month's time. I visited Aston Martin of Newport Beach just before & after Christmas. I'm pleased to be writing a positive review of our experience. My Aston Martin consultant Joey, was exceptional in a lot of ways... No sales pressure, not fake, no uncomfortable comments and completely knowledgeable of all the vehicles in their inventory... Both new & used. Our Aston Martin consultant was much more like a thoughtful adviser who had my best interest in mind, than someone pushing to get a quick sale. The cars they offer are exquisite and the people they have representing the company are of the highest caliber. I would recommend Aston Martin of Newport Beach & our adviser Joey to anyone looking for an enjoyable & comfortable car shopping experience. Side Note: Having Javier's right next to it doesn't hurt either!

    As a long time BMW M3/M4 owner (7 of them), I decided to make a change. I researched other automobiles and decided to purchase an Aston Martin. My friend had several Aston Martins over the years, and he is very happy with the brand. The dealership has new management team, which is undoubtedly a huge improvement (older Yelp reviews indicate a much less hospitable environment). Now the team is run by general manager, Jeff West, and they are customer service oriented. When you walk into the dealership you are greeted by friendly faces and treated as a VIP. The 2019 Vantage best suited my needs, so I asked to take it for a spin. Tim Shelton took me for a test drive. He was extremely knowledgable about all the Aston Martin models, and showed me the cool features. Tim was helpful and never pushy. We tested a few Vantage 2019s and also some DB11s. I liked the Vantage because it was more nimble (in my opinion); however the DB11 may be more suitable as a touring vehicle. The leather interior of the Vantage is unusually high quality, and smells amazing. Once seated in the comfortable seats you really won't want to get out of the car. I was surprised at the more roomy trunk space in the Vantage as compared to the other Aston Martin models. Next, I started the engine and enjoyed the roar of the Vantage's twin Turbo V8. We drove the Vantage around Newport Beach and I fell in love with the car. It handles extremely well, and sounds amazing. My must have recommendations for the Vantage 2019 are the following: 1. Quad exhaust (sounds amazing!) 2. Premium Sound (must have) 3. Comfort Collection 4. Tech Collection After contemplating my vehicle options (which included another M4, Tesla and others), I realized that I really wanted an Aston Martin. I dropped by on my lunch hour and spoke with Jeff West (the new General Manager). He was extremely personable and honest. Without any haggling, Jeff gave me an awesome deal and I told him to get the paperwork together. I returned after work and the deal was complete in less than 15 minutes. It's important to note that Aston Martin is offering ridiculous low interest rates when you lease a Vantage, thus the monthly payment on the car is a lot less than expected for a car in that price range. If you are considering a new luxury sports car, you should seriously consider visiting Aston Martin of Newport Beach.

I just want others to know what they might be walking into. This dragged on for nearly two months start to finish. On April 26, 2026, I bought a used 2021 BMW from Fletcher Jones Mercedes for my wife, who was 8 months pregnant, through a salesman named Omar Youssef. We liked the car, test drove it, and finalized everything without a hitch. Smooth sale, friendly people, no complaints up to that point. Then we left. And that's where the story really begins. About 10 minutes down the road, I'm driving in front of my wife and notice half her headlight assembly is dead and the DRL is completely out. You could see it the second we hit the freeway. We'd already burned hours at the dealership and my wife was exhausted, so instead of turning around we figured we'd just call and sort it out. I called Omar within 10 minutes. No answer. Called back three times before I got him. His response? He'd never seen anything like this and would have to talk to the used car manager, Kevin, when he's back from vacation. Never seen a headlight go out? You sell cars for a living. That's like a barista saying they've never seen a cup of coffee. But okay, fine. What followed was a masterclass in getting ghosted. The next day, Omar became nearly impossible to reach. Eventually I get a message that Kevin is still on vacation and unavailable. Fletcher Jones is one of the largest luxury dealerships in the country, and a same day delivery issue can't be handled because one manager is out? There are entire departments and a dozen managers who could step in. That excuse turned out to be complete fiction. Then on May 1, after days of silence, I get a text from Omar saying the dealership can't help because the car is pre-owned and the issue is "not a safety concern." The text is attached here. Not a safety concern. A dead headlight and DRL. That's one of the most basic safety systems on any vehicle, seeing the road and being seen on it. And this existed at delivery. It should have been caught and disclosed before the sale, or fixed before the car ever left the lot. All I wanted was a reasonable, good faith repair. That's it. I requested callbacks. Nothing. I called for a manager multiple times. Reception said no managers were available, which was hard to believe considering I'd shaken hands with several of them days earlier who were just standing in the lobby chatting. I hounded them for days and got nowhere. Later that week I reached sales lead Justin Smyres, who was professional and seemed to want to help. He said he'd follow up once they sourced the part. Then days went by with no update. Here's where it gets good. I eventually got Kevin on the phone. The same Kevin who was supposedly on vacation. Turns out he was never on vacation. He'd been at work the whole time. I found out because I asked and he sounded confused and said no. He also said he never told anyone the dealership would refuse to help. So everything Omar told me for nearly a week was made up. At that point this stopped being about a headlight. It was about the dishonesty and the total breakdown the second the sale was done. To their credit, once Kevin got involved things moved. I live an hour and a half away, so they picked the car up, did the work, and dropped it back. Kevin even sent a photo of the replaced module lighting up properly. In that same photo he pointed out the other headlight was failing too, yellow and faded. He flagged it himself and said he'd take care of it. The car comes back. I check the other headlight. They did absolutely nothing. I'm grateful one got fixed. But if you tell me you'll handle the second and then don't, that needs addressing. Beyond the mismatched look, it's a safety and compliance issue. I had a car with two different colored headlights, looking ridiculous. I had to chase Kevin down again, over and over. Lots of sighing from him, and at one point he said, "well, it's a six year old car, what do you expect." Good German headlights last well over a decade. After more back and forth, we agreed to bring it in one last time. Kevin said he'd call when the part arrived. No call. I checked in daily just for a crumb of information. He even pushed me twice to take the car back entirely and refund me every penny, just to avoid dealing with a headlight. Kind of dramatic. I jumped through the hoops one last time, dropped it off, got it fixed, and we're finally good. Credit where due: the service team was solid, and Thomas Joyce was solid. So how does it end? Nearly two months later, I finally got everything resolved. But I had to go to war for it, all while my wife hit 9 months pregnant scrambling before the baby came.

I was nervous as I arrived alone and every past experience with dealerships has been abrupt & rude and had felt like I got had at some level. The day before, I had consulted with Carmax who offered $1,900 less than the online Kelley Blue Book offer. The week before that, a friend offered to help me sell my Jeep but he tried to get me to sign my title without a date saying that's what all sellers do in advance of selling cars. (Never sign the title until the money has been surrendered to you and the buyer is standing in front of you. I felt betrayed and disappointed by the so-called "friend". I had already contacted a shop owner & friends who only purchase Jeeps. They all wanted to buy my Jeep but times are tough lately & no one was liquid to purchase. I'm telling you all this to let you know how discouraged and roughed up I was feeling by the time I arranged my appoint my for Phillips Auto to see my Jeep. I am spreading the word now that your experience with Phillips will also feel great. You will be greeted in a friendly, professional casual manner. I finally met the affable Andreas (who had been communicating with me about my Jeep I was thinking of selling) and the impressive Bianca who feels like a friend from the start. She is in charge and you feel comfortable and charmed and informed. Both are kind and efficient while appraising my vehicle. Bianca's experienced eye and candor helps the checklist go fast. Their offer price was transparent and fair; very close to my Kelley Blue Book estimate. Bianca is prepared and lets you k is what she is thinking & openly helps you along with understanding the process. I chose to finalize selling my Jeep to Phillips because they gave me a fair offer and did not waste my time. Also, there was no pressure; they gave me the time I needed to call a couple friends' approval to hear their thumb's up. I got free water & a peaceful environment despite other customers & representatives doing business. The showroom is busy but not loud or bustly. Yes, I could have gone privately to sell my Jeep. But I had to get real with myself; I have never sold a vehicle privately before & my Jeep was older & would need time & investment of staging it well to sell it in my own. I did not have the knowledge to do all the trudge work necessary & not the time to meet & haggle with prospective buyers when Phillips has the staff & equipment to pass the Wrangler along to someone who would be just as happy with it as I have been driving it. The paperwork was quick. Phillips will do everything needed. All I did was sign & cancel my car insurance--and that process was not as nice as selling the car, wouldn't you know?! (I certainly felt taken advantage of by my car insurance later that day. That is a different and not as cheerful of a Yelp review & I have been with the same insurance company for 40 years.) Phillips treated me better on our first transaction than my long term insurance agent. Phillips Auto even provided me a complimentary Uber ride home. The wonderful element about Phillips is integrity & decency at this family-owned dealership. My car insurance franchise is also family-owned. Mind boggling with how wonderful I regard Phillips Auto. I'm going to keep referring all whom I care about to do business with Phillips Auto. Bianca is stellar. Please tell her you read this review. She is great people!!

When I called them, they acted like it wasn't their problem at all, even though their own worker was doing side work on their property. Zero accountability. Just excuses. I even told them I was going to take this to court, and their response? "Yeah, we'll see about that." That right there tells you everything you need to know about how they treat customers. I've leased multiple Land Rovers over the years -- from Mission Viejo, San Diego, and eventually Newport Beach when John Pham and Robb Bennett completely changed my mind back in 2019 on my white Velar. That experience was incredible. But then came the service nightmare in 2021 that had me swearing I'd never come back. I was done. I was actively shopping a Porsche Cayenne and was literally on my way to the Porsche dealership when Jason's email came through with a full lease breakdown -- drive-off options, term lengths, money factor, everything laid out transparently. I turned my car around. That is not an exaggeration. His pricing and total honesty stopped me mid-drive and put me back at square one deciding between two cars. That's the kind of impact a truly great salesperson has -- not by pushing, but by earning trust. Jason has been hands down the most responsive and helpful sales professional I've worked with across every Range Rover dealership in Southern California -- and I've talked to many. He follows up without being overbearing, respects your timeline, and never once made me feel pressured. When I told him I was headed to Mammoth for a ski weekend and needed time to think, he didn't push. He gave me space while still being available when I had questions. That balance is so rare. What I love most about Jason is his transparency. He proactively sent over the full deal structure with multiple options so I could compare and make an educated decision on what was best for me. No games, no hidden fees popping up later, no "let me go talk to my manager" back-and-forth. Just straight-up honesty. Our transmission is suffering from a commonly issue that everyone is talking about on forums and even AI suggest the same problem. When I asked Luis that I want my TCU transmission control module to be reprogrammed or relearned, his reply was we don't just use pocket size scanners but we use sophisticated tools and run different diagnosis to read error codes. I was kind of offended. I did tell him that I too have checked the car and he will not find no error codes. The way he acted was like he's talking to some stupid person who knows nothing about cars.the only reason I took the car to them was that the scanner I have would not do the relearning but it is not. Pocket size not a 50 dollars scanner. What I was asking him was what I wanted him to do to my car but instead he took our money and came to the same conclusion that there is no error codes and could not duplicate the problem. I'd like to post what needed to be done to my car but I don't know how to copy and paste the screen shots I took to teach this kid not to make fun of other people. I come from a very well known luxury exotic store that I closed and retired from and ran two new car stores myself and always depended on CSI. What occurred today was nothing but a kid with no experience nor wanting to actually listen to what I had to say but only cared to fish me in for couple of hours of labor rather than help fixing my issue and make us want to come back again. Not an easy feat these days. I was adamant on using a big dealer, i hate these little dinky dealers most of them are janky. I was using the app, car gurus, and this sweet little Mazda three sport popped up so I inquired. 15 minutes after my inquiry I received a call from Riley and he asked if I was wanting to come in to test drive the car. So my son and I headed straight down to San Juan Capistrano from Irvine. Come to find out the car was exactly what we were looking for, plus it had an exhaust and some modifications to it. To be honest with you, they could definitely have sold it for more money. The buying experience was wonderful. We did all the paperwork over about a two hour period in the office and got the loan done. It's a family, business, husband, wife, and son Riley. We had a great time chatting it up. We all had the same values and it was a pleasure working with them. I would highly recommend this family business to anyone and will definitely using them again.
