During our stay, cockroaches kept coming out of the room and kitchen and this gave the kids we were with a hard time and ruined our trip.

Jason was absolutely amazing with making sure we could still have our reservation to attend a wedding after the Maui wildfires. The resort was everything we imagined but even better. The view you get in #109 is literally a million-dollar view. Our condo was very clean, and you could tell they take care of their property. This is a very rare opportunity to stay that close to the ocean, as now most properties are required to build further away. I honestly don't know why others are putting bad reviews about maintenance issues or not staying in an updated condo. The pictures you look at before you book the condo is what you get, but it was awesome being there physically. Jason went above and beyond to make sure this trip happened, that we were happy, and I would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a quiet, clean, and lovely place to stay in Maui. We will be back!

Aston Paki is a beautiful property, however, reading and accepting a review is not consistent with every unit, as every condo is owed and maintained by a different owner. One condo could be exceptionally maintained, updated and beautifully furnished, and the next door neighbor could be the total opposite. The one consistent in the complex, is that it is a "Air Conditioner Free" complex, so many of the units without a good breeze available will likely be really hot. The majority of the complaints you will find are about hot hot the units are. Because of the, I would not stay here again, as our unit was an inside unit not facing the beach, and had little breeze, and was terrible hot and uncomfortable. Many of units with unblocked beach facing units would be much more acceptable. Our unit was nice, clean, updated and offered everything we needed for relaxing beach visits, including beach chairs, and extra large towels. The kitchen was recently remodeled and had all the comforts of your home kitchen. Excellent location, nice pool and beach relaxation area. Beautiful sunrises. So the heat inside the unit snd no air conditioning was really my only complaint, and cause for not returning to this property.

We loved the view we happened to get with our time share exchange room. Only reason I gave a 4 star instead of 5 was because of maintenance issues. There was bulbs out, a fan that didn't work and lumpy pullout bed. But I added some photos of what the 1 bedroom came with. I would definitely stay here again. This is a 2 min walk to the water and it was fun to snorkel right outside our hotel whenever we felt like it. There is a pool, a hot tub and also an area near the pool to use the bbq.

This is NO Ritz-Carlton, but it is the MOST affordable ocean view room you will find in Maui. I booked this hotel under a package that included a rental car, so the price per night for a week was approx. $140/night. With research, this was the best hotel condo I could book for these reasons: -free parking -free internet (free wireless interenet found in most rooms, depending on how close you are to the wireless router. Or you can use their cable internet) -cable TV -Close proximity to Front St, Kaanapali Beach, Zensations Spa =) -Daily maid service -grass lawn with seating to enjoy ocean view We stayed in a 1-bedroom, 1-bath condo that had the most amazing view from our lanai. We didn't even bother sleeping in the bedroom that faced the garden, and slept on the pull-out bed (from living room sofa) so we could fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean waves crashing. We were lucky and got a nicely updated condo - tile floors & updated kitchen appliances. Aston Paki Maui is an older complex, and I've seen some rooms that do need some updating. But you can't beat the free parking & free internet. There is NO A/C, which is common for older hotels that are very close to the ocean. So book that ocean view room to get those cool ocean breezes!

View is amazing 5 Stars, 1 Star fo room. 424 is still in the 80's Looks like no one cares and it has had little or no upkeep. Sink in bathroom is sinking with broken tiles, half paint jobs all over, dirty curtins, broken chairs x2, leaky kitchen sink, dirty curtins, cabinet will not close... I can go on and on but you get my point... will not return . Ready to go home already.. not worth the money. Aston might want to consider removing this condo from its availability list until changed are made if they want to keep a positive reputation. Needs alot of TLC! Oh and no vacation rental needs a bamboo sex mirror over the master bed. Or the used items in the bedside table.

My boyfriend and I went on our very first vacation to Maui and I searched all over for the best deal on expedia with our flight and hotel booked together - this hotel blew us away... Just an amazing experience overall. The name is sort of confusing since it used to be an Aston hotel but after renovating the Paki Maui is now a part of Castle Resorts & Hotels. We didn't get a room with the shore view which I didn't mind at all since the hotel is right on the beach anyway! Our room was extremely comfortable, and I love, love, LOVED the full kitchen. We saved a lot of money throughout the week by being able to cook our own meals! We visited the front desk often for help, questions about activities and personal requests and the girls were more than accomodating. They were just so helpful! Check in and check out was a breeze. The only upsetting part of our stay was that they couldn't make change for a large bill so that I could put coins into the laundry machine (but that's okay, we went across the street to one of the shops and they were kind enough to exchange us with quarters). The area along the Kaanapali coast was very relaxing and I'm glad that we chose to stay here for our very first get-away together.

In Maui with my husband. Left the kids at home for the first time in almost twenty years of vacationing. Smart finally! Staying in a condo that my parents bought in a prime location in west Maui. Double smart!! The maid service is minimal but it's quiet at night. Beautiful view of Molokai, lovely garden, clean pool, snorkeling right out the back patio...love.

But it does have a lot of other things going for it. Our favorite is the location to the boardwalk and the super easy access to the most beautiful beach. Perfect for morning walks. Snorkeling is incredible there. Also turtles, sometimes dolphins, monk seals and tons of whales during whale season. You have to pay $90 for two beach chairs and an umbrella. $36 for just an umbrella. Parking is $35 a night. It all adds up quickly. If you want a lounge chair at the pool, you have to get up by 5 AM to get the one you want. They have activities all day and live music most nights- really enjoyable to sit by the fit pit, watch the sunset and live. The rooms are hit and miss. Sometimes we get an ocean view where you can see a sliver of water. Another time we were next to their laundry units, which were loud. Other times we were ocean front and it was incredible to watch the whales. The little kitchenette is perfect. They are well stocked. And I love that you can do laundry. They clean the rooms every two days but you can ask for supplies if you need anything.

Couldn't really open up the curtains due to privacy. When discussed with the staff, they said if there is any sight of the ocean, it is deemed an ocean view. Most hotels call it a "partial view" so that would be a more fair description. Make sure that you get your ocean view and not the first floor. Otherwise, the pools were nice and access to the beach was good. The ability to cook in the kitchen was very nice as well Out of all the properties in Ka'anapali, this may have been our least favorite.

The free valet was fantastic, and the room was spacious, clean, and had a gorgeous ocean view. We had an issue with our mattress and it was never comfortable. That was the big bummer of the stay. They replaced our mattress after we said something but it didn't fix the issue. When we laid down, we always felt like where laying way back like toward the headboard, feet higher than our head. The staff have spoiled us with some sweet congrats cookies that we really enjoyed. This property also has a Dukes on site which is super convenient. They do get busy though so we've just ordered to-go and enjoyed our food on the balcony. One thing I wish this hotel did have would be a cafe, or some kind of coffee on site. There's a market in the other tower, but the building we stayed in has one under construction. I'm hoping they put a coffee spot because it would be perfect! We love the location and feel when we come here and the included parking is a HUGE plus! I couldn't recommend the Honua Kai more and we look forward to more visits here in the future.

The rooms were old and outdated. And we were not impressed with the rooms, only the pools. Fast forward to just recently we came with our toddler son. The rooms are nicer now, it looks like the renovated. Like the bathroom looks renovated and the toilet isn't the slow flushing toilets. Rooms aren't too bad. Carpet wasn't dirty as I remembered it. Beds are lumpy though and it's also the worst made bed ever. They should learn from Mexico, their beds made are perfect. Westins bed is non fitted sheets with a undersize mattress cover, every thing moves around when you move around. So by the time you wake up, half of the mattress is exposed bc all the sheets are small. Or the sheets are all messed up beyond recognition! Lol. I had to constantly make the bed myself because any small movement moves everything out of place. Pools- we were only on the kids side. The one with the slide is a pretty small pool, but the one next to it is big (not kids specific). Good pool area for kids. We liked it. Not too many chairs but enough for the day. They need more small tables for drinks. It was very limited. The pool water was also extremely cold. We came in May and the water was like ice water. Probably good on a hot day but it was windy and cold. What is odd is the pool next to the kids pool was not ice cold. It felt just right. We had to move over there. But one day it was not ice water, so it's a hit or miss with water temp. Best thing was their arcade. I don't recall they had this 5 years ago. It was awesome!! My toddler loved this. What a great way to entertain them. Also has a bar there for the adults and bowling alley. Not real bowling but close enough. It was cool. Arcade bartender made a really good lychee martini, best one I've tried. The arcade is the BEST part of staying here with a toddler. They also got a new restaurant- Ulu, which we came for breakfast everyday. It was good. Enjoyed their pool bar too. Every one was really friendly too. Overall, it's a good resort. Westin has the best resort pool and now arcade. Also close to Whalers Village. We would come back again.

I'd say that it checked the boxes in…read moreevery regard that was important to me - convenience, great location, updated facilities, and family friendly. I came here late April 2026. When you first arrive and walk into the lobby, it is quite stunning. I don't know when their latest renovation was, but it feels updated within the past 7-8 years, modern but also keeping that nice Hawaiian touch. You're welcomed by several live plants and flowers covering the walls in the breezeway when you walk towards the front desk, and can spot a waterfall and koi pond. Rooms - As Marriott Bonvoy members, we luckily got upgraded to the room with view of ocean and expansive pool area - literally looks like the picture featured on this Yelp review. It's a stunning view. The room itself was also nicely updated! It felt modern, yet still cozy and inviting. We got 2 queens, and it seems that every room comes with a balcony. We all loved the balcony - great way to be outside and enjoy the weather, live music, and dry your swimsuits. Anyway, the room itself was very comfortable, and it's hard to find updated rooms in Maui for a somewhat decent price. I think my only complaint is that it was a bit small - it was ok for the 3 of us (2 adults + 1 toddler), but I can't imagine coming here as a family of 4 with teenagers, and have to squeeze into the small room. Swimming pools - there were several to choose from, including a designated kid's pool, regular pool, and adult only pools. They were each nicely designed and landscaped with the trees - there were several slides for each pool, and designed in such a way where you couldn't even notice them. Also, the adult pool was hidden, so little ones aren't tempted to access the adult only pool, and I'm sure it worked well the other way by not being able to hear the kids! The towel process was a little annoying. We were given several towel cards good for each towel. But the annoying thing was that we had to carry separate towel cards separate from our room key, that was a wristband. Might as well just combine the two to make it more convenient for guests? Not that it was a huge hinderance - just a suggestion. Beach access - you are basically right there, on a public beach. It was extremely convenient to be right there, grabbing our towels from the hotel and using them for the beach. If you want lounge chairs, umbrellas, etc. though, you will have to pay a fee to rent them. Obviously it's not as nice as other hotels that have that all set up for you, like we've experienced in other countries, but hey, it's just the Westin. Restaurants - There aren't too many restaurants to choose from here - but we did really enjoy the Hale Moʻolelo Restaurant/Bar. We didn't actually eat here at all, but enjoyed cocktails here every night. They have live music DAILY each evening, and welcome all ages, including our toddler. I was getting tired of the Hawaiian tiki drinks, started ordering regular cocktails, which were decent. The live music alone was wonderful each evening. There was also the Ulu Kitchen by Merriman's, which we were somewhat interested in trying, but never got around to it. Marriott Bonvoy members also get free breakfast with their stay. They did not have a designated breakfast restaurant, unfortunately, but rather they gave us credit for the convenience store that served hot food and other beverages. They had options such as Loco Moco, scrambled eggs and potatoes, acai bowls, spam masubi. Honestly it was all very disappointing food - my daughter really only liked the spam masubi that didn't seem worth it for one entree item. We did utilize the free beverage for bottled water each day though, which was convenient. Location - was wonderful too. It was located right next to Whaler's Village, which is a shopping center with lots of restaurants, coffee, an ABC store, etc. It's a short walk, and we walked here each morning to get coffee, have my toddler run around, and also walk around with her in the stroller during her naps. The hotel is also located with just a few minutes drive to Lahaina, where more restaurants were. Amenities - they have random pet parrots that come out during the daytime, which my daughter loved seeing each day. Fun to see the fish in the koi pond. Also, they have random vendors/activities in their breezeway where the shops are, including pineapple tasting, hat making, etc. which can be fun for the little ones. The arcade was also pretty amazing. Some of the games have this "play until you win" feature, which was really nice for all kids playing to win something. My daughter was hooked. Elevators can be slow. We found that the ones located on the side closest to the front desk were faster than the ones closer to the Arcade! Just realize that this place seemed like it was intended for families, but it was executed quite nicely. Would highly recommend.

Dump your own trash, etc. So for this type of rental, it's top notch. Here's why: The location is perfect. 5 min walk to Whaler's Village. Only 20 min walk all the way to Black Rock, the furthest beach away in the cove. Quick drive out to Highway 30. Easy, and I mean easy access to Lahaina (south) and Honolua or Kampala Bays (north). Choose if you want to shop grocery at Times or Safeway, same distance. Really perfect location. Our apartment was incredible. It didn't face the ocean but that's ok. They have some that do, or the pool. It was huge. Nicely decorated and clean. Lots of space. Two bedrooms and sofa bed. Foosball table. Beach stuff to borrow and even a wagon to haul stuff. Parking garage right there. Always found an open space. Bell hops were helpful and friendly. They got nice gym, clay tennis courts, swimming pool, hot tub, and BBQ grills. All well kept. I could go on but why? It was great condo to stay.

Not only was our condo comfortable, convenient and gorgeous with stunning views, but the staff was helpful, friendly and went above and beyond to make us comfortable and to make sure we were enjoying our stay. Breakfast service was noticeably slower, and some of the thoughtful touches we appreciated before -- like the kids club activities and special gestures -- are no longer available. The live music at the pool is also gone, which definitely changes the atmosphere. Pool service was inconsistent as well; we had to flag someone down just to order drinks, and even then the wait was quite long. On the positive side, it was great to see familiar faces still here. Eric is still around the pool and remains as welcoming as ever. The woman who served us at breakfast was lovely and had a wonderful smile, and Jenny at the spa is still here too -- she continues to be fantastic. We'll see how the full transition unfolds over the next 15-18 months.

We often sip n sunset at this outdoor bar beside the Montage pool so we can watch whales frolicking in winter. Service is always excellent and friendly, and tonight wasn't any different. Our waitress did make a mistake on the order but instantly put it right so nicely we couldn't fault her, plus we were left with an extra free drink so what was there to complain about! As it is a pool bar there is a very relaxed vibe so we can visit after snorkeling and feel perfectly dressed :) There is often a musician playing live music too. It is soooo nice to just hang out here at sunset, I suggest you do too!

They had two different pool locations. A good size. The views of the ocean was so beautiful and the weather was just perfection. Never got never cold. We had a queen size bed and pull out couch also the size of a queen. A dining table, full size refrigerator, sink, cooking appliance, and dinner ware. The restroom was nice. It had the shower and tub in one room and the other part of the restroom had a normal sized mirrored closet, in addition to the drawers for our clothes in the main room. I wish they had an ice machine but they had ice cube trays in the freezer. WIFI WAS GREAT. The TV aid a bit old school lol. We didn't need to reach out to the workers often but if needed we could just text them which was fantastic. Plenty of parking and I loved that this was not super crowded when we went to the pool. Prob because everyone is out and about. It's walking distance to the beach of course and a 10 minute walk for us to Whalers village. I wouldn't mind staying here again but most likely I'd try a different location just for new experiences.

When we inquired about our room and if it was correct, we were told it was and that some owners of the condos renovate the condos and they may not match the online postings exactly. We were very displeased with this and this is clearly false advertising. If I wanted a studio, I would have booked and paid for a studio. As a family, we had no privacy because of this and made the sleeping situation undesirable. We could also hear the people above us every night. At around 3am they would be up stomping around and you could hear everything. The rooms are supposed to be updated but I would not consider our room updated. There was no housekeeping. I had to call and request it but our room was only serviced once. Luckily we weren't charged, unlike other reviews I have seen. The larger pool was fine; definitely not resort style. But it could use some maintenance each day because the pool seemed dirty and not cleaned from the various people frequenting it each day. I would have given this place a one star but I gave it two stars due to: 1) the front desk staff we interacted with was very kind and helpful; truly so nice. 2) our kids enjoyed the morning hot cocoa 3) the location to the beach is nice and the beach was enjoyable 4) the walking path and proximity to local spots and hotels was convenient. But again, we were disappointed and would not stay here

The breakfast is packed with great, fresh food. On our last day (Christmas) the staff got together and made it to all parts of the hotel to sing Christmas carols to us guests. They were so kind and genuine. Then they showed Home Alone on Christmas night with a big projector, for all guests. The one complaint I have is actually just a design flaw. The pool (& feet) showers are PAST the pool, when guests return from the beach, which is a problem because guests that want to wash the beach sand off their feet, can often be seen dipping their dirty feet in the pool, on the way back to the hotel. This constant flow of unshowered feet causes the pool to get quite nasty, especially at the tail (pool is shaped like a cartoon whale) end. Even the best pool filter system (which they may even have) wouldn't be able to keep up with the volume of guests walking to/from the beach, so if possible, please install multiple showers BETWEEN the beach and the hotel pool.

We arrived at the Outrigger on February 10 after a long flight, tired and hungry. Most of the…read moreisland had been without power due to high winds, which we did not know until we checked in. When the lobby erupted in applause, the desk clerk explained that the power had just come back on. So far, so good. Before arriving, I had upgraded to a remodeled ocean view room for a small fee. Unfortunately, the resort's definition of "ocean view" and mine were not the same. Our room was on an upper floor, but the view was almost completely blocked by large courtyard trees. If you leaned and looked hard enough, you could see a tiny sliver of ocean off to the right. Not what I expected for an upgrade. Be very cognizant of what style of room you are choosing. Oceanfront is their best category and those rooms are very limited in number. Ocean view is a complete gamble in terms of what kind of view you will actually receive, and partial ocean view will likely mean you are looking at the backside of the hotel with a limited or possibly nonexistent view. Things got worse when we went to eat. The Maui Beach Club, the only on property restaurant, was closed for a private event. After a long travel day and a power outage, it was surprising and disappointing that the resort would close the only dining option to paying guests. I went to the front desk to express my frustration about both the room and the restaurant closure. They offered to show me my original room, but that "ocean view" required leaning over the railing and looking sideways to find a glimpse of water. I declined and stayed with the upgraded room. To their credit, they did give us a one hundred dollar resort credit for the inconvenience. For the rest of the stay, the Maui Beach Club meals were good and the staff was generally pleasant. We found even better dining options at Whalers Village, which is conveniently close. The pool, however, is nothing to write home about. It is very small, has no shade, and has no umbrellas. Guests were dragging chairs all over the property trying to find relief from the sun. It looked more like a crowded summer festival than a resort pool area. One last surprise: this is the only place in all my Caribbean and beach travels where I have had to rent beach chairs and an umbrella. Two small folding chairs and one umbrella cost eighty five dollars per day, and only until four thirty. Multiply that by a week and it adds up fast. I spoke with another couple who simply went to Costco, bought an umbrella for forty five dollars and two chairs for ninety nine dollars, and planned to pass them along to another guest when they left. Honestly, that is the smarter move. Overall, the location is great and some staff members were wonderful, but the arrival experience, misleading room categories, lack of dining access, underwhelming pool, and high beach rental fees made this stay far less enjoyable than it should have been.
