I dined at the St. Regis over the summer and had an amazing experience, so when I returned for breakfast/brunch at Astor Court, my expectations were high--and they did not disappoint! First Impressions: Let's be honest: luxury hotels don't always maintain their reputation for exceptional service, but St. Regis proves that quality customer service is alive and well. From the moment we walked in, everything felt warm, elegant, and inviting. Service: Major shoutout to Jia, our server on day one--she was an absolute light! On day two, we had Mirica, who was equally lovely. Both ladies were warm, kind, patient, and super helpful in guiding us through the menu. And then there's Richardson, who deserves his own paragraph for crafting THEE best hot chocolate I've ever had. Rich, velvety, and downright dreamy. He was so sweet and made the experience even more special. What We Ordered Day One: * St. Regis Southern Omelet - Packed with thick, smoky bacon pieces that made every bite a delight. * AC Breakfast Sandwich - A classic done right. * Eggs Benedict - Perfectly executed, from the hollandaise to the poached eggs. Day Two: * Wellness Omelet with smoked turkey - Light yet flavorful. * AC Breakfast Sandwich (yes, again--it's that good!). * Two Egg Entrée with bacon - Simple, but cooked to perfection. * Bonus Treat: A single pancake for a touch of sweetness. Fluffy with crispy edges--chef's kiss! Final Thoughts: Every dish was cooked to the T--flavorful, filling, and beautifully presented. Wanted to love this place. We were staying at the hotel and wanted to have a tea service with family last minute. They were very accommodating and gave us a table towards the end of their seatings. The tea options were really nice. The server was friendly and very knowledgeable. The atmosphere was comfortable, colorful, and cozy. Also very nice. Despite all of that, unfortunately there were some downsides to our experience that will cause us not to return here for afternoon tea. The tea was good and while they explained that they would refill our water and how to let them know when to do that, the fact that we could only try one tea flavor per person is a big downside. Most afternoon teas allow you to try as many flavors as you want. I typically go through multiple teas in a tea service and leave well hydrated. Here, we could only select one. The server's suggestion was to share teapots among the party members to try different teas. That turned out to be an awkward proposition when we were blocked by towers of snacks, distracted by conversation, and thought it better to give the strainers with the pots to avoid cross contamination of flavors. Overall a bit clunky to expect guests to share teapots, and especially a faux pas at this price point. Next, the food. It wasn't really remarkable. I think my favorites were smoked salmon, cucumber 'sandwich' and the apple puff. My view on tea service food is either do the staples really well or do something unique to your establishment but also have it taste great. Here, nothing was particularly unique. There was a Turkey sandwich on a potato bun which felt out of place. The timing of the service was off as well. Since we were a day-of addition, there must have been some miscommunication and we had to wait a very long time before getting served or attended to. The scones came out before we received any tea. Overall it felt like we were an afterthought and contrary to hospitality expectations at a place like the St Regis. Considering all of that and how we ended up spending well over 100 per person all said and done, it really was not a great value. We were not very impressed. read more

My experiences at Astor Court have always been wonderful. I had breakfast there in May 2009 just after the St. Regis had opened in April. The menu then had Nutella churro waffles with berries & crème and applewood smoked bacon. We also had an omelette, fresh squeezed orange juice, and French pressed coffee. I had the waffles on my second visit. By my third visit, they had been taken off the menu. Even so, the chef made them for me anyway. And each time I've been back over the years, I've ordered them. At some point after my first few visits, the new hotel owner changed the color palette for Astor Court and the hotel overall from a light aqua to a persimmon orange. I was not a fan of the color scheme at the time. It has continued to change over the years. The ambiance was nice and calming back in the day. It shifted to more stiff and not as comfortable with the orange hues. Now the colors are fuchsia and gold. Just too much in my opinion. Anyway, that was a bit much from me. I love the service. I love the breakfast. Never had the afternoon tea. Usually spend my afternoons at the pool deck. read more

We had one of the earlier times for tea which I would highly recommend Just for more attentive service. The tea service by staff was amazing and we had younger guests in our party and the staff was very accommodating making it a very fun and engaging experience for them. The teas and bites were exquisite. As we were celebrating a birthday the staff prepared a special treat for our birthday guest which was yummy as well. Great price point for the experience. I went there for the afternoon tea service for my birthday a month ago. The location and setting are elegant. Our staff member was friendly, and actually pretty funny once he loosened up and realized we weren't the snobby type. The tea options were plentiful, and I enjoyed my pick. However, the food options were a bit lacking. When you only get a certain number of pieces, they all need to be at least OK, and a few need to stand out. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. There were a few pieces that were just bad, and most were OK to good at best. I've had tea at the Waldorf, which was better. And neither compare to the ones I've had internationally. Would definitely opt for a difference place in Atlanta area if you want great food options as part of your tea experience. But if you're just there for vibes and pics, this would be fine. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here. The tea selection was great and you could tell the options were all high quality. The pastries were very delicious and creative. Service was professional and well-timed. Areas for improvement (in my opinion) include providing or offering hot water refills for the tea. The teapots are tiny and only have enough for maybe 3 cups of tea. I had the chance to check out The Queen of Hearts tea during Valentine's Day weekend. It was absolutely amazing. The decor and ambiance was very inviting and felt very luxurious. They offered valet parking for $7, but I was later told there is also free parking in the parking deck on Sundays. When I first arrived I was greeted by a singer and saxophonist in the hotel lobby. Throughout tea they would come upstairs and interact with the guests providing us with live entertainment. Downstairs there was also a nice step and repeat made of real roses for a nice photo op. Overall Experience: 10/10 I thoroughly enjoyed myself! I loved the strawberry scones that they brought out to the table. I just wish they had of been warmed. I tried 2 teas which were the Mountain Berry & The Iron goddess of Mercy. They were both very good. The mountain Berry had a nice hibiscus flavor and the iron goddess was very light and airy like a jasmine tea. My favorite bites on the tea tower were the red velvet cake, apple tart, and the mini black forest ham biscuit. Ambiance, tea, and service was great but the savory and sweet high tea bites were horrid. Reviews have always been not so great that it took a really long time to make the visit but unfortunately the reviews are dead on. I had ordered the off menu tea that was sugar plum and loved how it had just the perfect amount of sweetness without any bad after taste. Aesthetically, the small bites were beautiful and was perfectly arranged on the platter. However, all the breading was cold and stale. It was like someone went through the fridge and used cookie cutter to make food out of the leftovers. It was edible and I was hungry so that was that. For dessert, the carrot cake and the initial scones with the lemon tart spread was the highlight. The rest were too sweet or tasteless that we each took one bite of each item. If i would say it's sweet, something is definitely wrong. Overall, I got it out of my system to try this place but definitely not worth the the cost. I must admit...I came away pleasantly surprised to the upside, particularly after noticing a number of subpar reviews. We only came for weekday breakfast, so I can't speak to the afternoon tea or brunch. Breakfast started out strong. There is a panoply of high quality tea and coffee options for self service...all included as part of the meal. We treated ourselves accordingly. As for the food: We ordered an avocado toast with salmon as well as the wellness omelette. Both were quite excellent and hearty. We even asked for a number of modifications, and they gladly obliged without any issues (and in our case, without even any surcharges). I was, at first, slightly skeptical upon seeing my wellness omelette because it looked like they put the vegetables on the outside only. But upon digging in, I saw that there was quite a bit of greens embedded. All in all, we were happy with this spot and would return. Really a terrible experience. I never ever leave reviews, but this was that bad that I feel like I should share. This is a St. Regis restaurant and with that status comes sky high prices...so standards should be set high too. My family was there for the College Football Playoff National Championship and decided to stay at the St. Regis for a treat. Dining at Astor Court was a complete and total let down. Service was awful. Our waitress only came over once to take our order and then we never saw her again. Half of our entrees didn't even come out. And when they eventually did after complaining to the manager, the pancakes came out raw and the rest of the food was cold. When we requested a drink refill or an addition to our order, we had to flag down other staff members--who eventually never brought the items we requested...Like a side of butter or ketchup. Our food was eventually brought out by another individual who was not our server and so they had no idea what we were talking about when we asked where the rest of the order was. An unexpected experience from a 5-star hotel dining establishment. This review is only for Teatime only. Valet and the ambiance are top notch. That's where it ended for us. Was in town and came here for teatime. Our first serving was the scones. My wife was trying to cut a scone into halves and the scone scattered into several pieces. Meaning it wasn't made properly as a good quality scone wouldn't be do crumbly. Then came the pastries, see the pictures. For a top notch establishment, there gotta be someone who knows how to place the pastries right. First course should be savoury food and it should be on the bottom, not the middle. Then scorns and on top the sweets. The tea was very strong, seems like they need to be educated on how much tea leaves to put. Ordered second around and told them to be light on tea leaves. This review is for the Astor and not the Astor Court, both in the St. Regis Shockingly high prices for fine dining in Atlanta, food and service are fine. For example, $90 for Dover Sole deboned at my table side is highway robbery. Skin was crisp, fish was moist, but the most mild flavor ever, even with the caper brown butter sauce. I preferred the Halibut for $50. Most savory items need a bit more salt for my taste. Best thing we had (flavor wise) was the truffle ravioli, but would have enjoyed a few shaved truffles on top. The price ($40/person) was more reasonable compared to Four Seasons and a friend that's been before also had good things to say about her experience at Astor Court. I tried to call (404.563.7799) but was directed via their voicemail to make my reservation online at https://www.opentable.com/astor-court-atlanta I made sure to book my reservation about 3 weeks out from the actual date to ensure a spot. I needed to make changes to my online reservation but did not want to loose my spot due the size of my party (8 people for the original reservation) so I called and left a voicemail instead to add a person. I was also impressed the week of Astor Court had someone call and confirm my reservation and asking if there were any special requests/allergies besides the 1 gluten-free guest I had included with my online reservation. There was no additional charge for the gluten-free option which I was very happy with. I had a friend who is allergic to mangos so that was good to mention to Astor Court. Couple girlfriends and I arrived a few minutes earlier to check out the hotel and take pictures on the pretty stairs as girls like to do. Once it was time of the reservation (2:30pm), I checked in with the hostess which was located on the second floor from the main lobby. They took us to our seats right away. We waited a few minutes for the rest of the party to arrive and our server and his assistance started telling us a bit of history regarding the afternoon tea tradition and what teas they had to offer. We sniffed each and every single option and at the end picked what we wanted. There was also a good selection of caffeine-free teas to choose from as well. Everyone gets one personal pot with one choice of tea but unlimited hot water refills. After we picked our teas, they brought us each our individual pots. We were served scones first. My gluten-free option had coconut and chocolate chips which was different from the regular fruit scones. Scones are always heavy but while they're hot and fresh, I couldn't resist and ate both of mine. While we were still enjoying our scones, they brought out the trays with all the goodies. I got my individual tray as mine was gluten-free. The rest of the trays had 3 people's portions on them. Overall I would say I had a great time enjoying my first afternoon tea at Astor Court. The service was great and the treats were delicious. My friends and I were also able to enjoy a relaxing afternoon eating, drinking, and chatting. $40/person might be a bit over priced but I think it's the fancy set up and the great service that is part of the St. Regis name. A group of 8 of us came here for high tea on a Saturday. With our reservations, our table was ready, a large table in the corner of the area with views of the staircase going down to the lobby. As expected, we were seated on plush, comfortable chairs, with beautifully arranged, fancy tea settings. The regular Caroline Astor Afternoon Tea menu is $40, but every patron in our group opted for the $48 menu, which includes a glass of Nicolas Feuillate Brut Champagne. For my tea selection, I picked the Mad Hatter, a blend of fruits that is quite possibly one of the best teas I've ever had. I still dream about this tea! Our tastings included: Tea Sandwiches: -Chicken salad sandwich with apples and cashews -Smoked salmon on pumpernickel with chive and crème fraiche -Cucumber, tomato, and watercress sandwich with lemon aioli -Pimento cheese sandwich, lemon aioli, -Egg salad in filo with quail egg and espilette Pastries: -Chocolate caramel truffle -Cherry frangipane tart -Mint macaron -Lemon meringue -Peach financier -Blueberry scone -Almond scone -English Double Devonshire Cream, Lemon Curd and Seasonal Jams My favorites were the mint macaron and the scones with their cream and lemon curd--these were heavenly! This place was the "It" spot for a while but now it's wound down, which is good. I like to stop by for a chill out spot, which means I don't want big crowds all hoping to see someone famous in town for a movie. Sadly, perhaps the reason this place has room to spare is because the service is dreadfully slow and the drinks aren't great. We had two drinks, and walked out at around $70. These are Manhatten prices. I had a rye old fashioned and it came out with lots of little ice cubes that had melted so much that the drink was nearly see through (no, this was not from so much alcohol.) Moreover, the bitters were subpar -- probably just out of a jar -- and there was no muddling. This is the St. Regis. I expect more out of the place. read more

We came here with some good friends for New Year's Day brunch. The food was tasty, but the service was seriously lacking. I've had amazing experiences at St. Regis properties and events in the Pacific and in Europe. I've been conditioned to expect a very high level of service. I've had better service at Cracker Barrel than at the St. Regis Atlanta. That's a problem. I made our reservation through the St. Regis "holiday butler" office, which was very prompt in responding to my phone message and e-mails completing the reservation. They even asked if we needed high chairs or booster seats, which we did, and added the request to our reservation. I'll add here that our requested high-chair and booster seats were not passed on to the restaurant. Why did the butler even ask if the restaurant is just going to ask again? They need better communication. Surprisingly for the reputation this apparently has as one of the best brunch spots in Atlanta, it wasn't very crowded. We were promptly seated and our waiter, a friendly middle-aged Asian man, introduced himself and brought us some drinks. However, that was our last interaction with him. It's not quite clear what happened, but I think one of the bussers decided to take it upon herself to be our server. Many thanks to her for doing so, though her lack of experience and training was showed, and she was very shy, she eventually relaxed a little bit. It's not fair of our original waiter to abandon us and put the responsibility on her, for the St. Regis for perhaps understaffing brunch, or for not fully training its staff. As for the food, the New Year's Day brunch, featuring a buffet focused on southern New Year's Day good luck foods like black-eyed peas, was decent. The black-eyed peas were perhaps the best I've ever had. They also offered shrimp and grits, sawmill gravy and biscuits, and other southern classics. The shrimp and grits was lacking in flavor and southern 'kick' compared to what I've had elsewhere in the South. My wife said the Hoppin' John was also a bit bland. The gravy was excellent, though! The brunch price included an open bar of Bloody Marys and champagne/mimosas, which made the whole thing a pretty decent value. I took my best friend here for the afternoon tea service on Saturday. We arrived a little early so we explored the St. Regis a little before our reservation and were glad to see how clean the place was. Valet parking is only $2 instead of $20 if you get your parking validated by Astor Court so be sure to do so! We were quickly seated and our waiter came by to show us a box of teas we could sniff and decide which we would like. You can only have one out of tea at a time so choose carefully. In my opinion, each pot is roughly 5-5.5 cups of tea so if you are not a big tea drinker, do not bother getting another pot. I am a huge fan of tea, as is my best friend, so we ended up trying three types. We drank the St. Regis ceylon blend, the Mad Hatter's blend, and the vanilla rooibos blend. The St. Regis is a very neutral type tea, perfect to start off with. The Mad Hatters is very fruity, perfect to pair with the desserts. The vanilla rooibos was a very subtle sweet, perfect to end with. They also offer milk and sugar if you are so inclined. The tower itself was nicely balanced, a good mixture of different types of flavors and textures. If I had one complaint, it would be that some pieces of bread were dry and tasted a bit stale. Nothing too extreme. I enjoyed the salmon croissant the most. Another nit picky complaint would be that often times our water would go by our table without asking if we needed more tea and thus we had to awkwardly reach out to other waiters. They do serve a bittersweet dark chocolate cake for birthday patrons and it was very well balanced. Overall, it was a bit pricey at $55/per person but a nice place to visit for a special occasion. It's in the Regis hotel on the 4th floor, but you can pull up front and valet will take your car for you (whoopsie, heh). The restaurant will validate your parking, and it should go without saying to take the money you would've use to pay and tip O.o I believe they have a deal for actual afternoon tea, where you pay a one time fee of $35 for tea selections and mini cakes and sandwiches, but you'd have to check though. Top notch! I took my niece for afternoon tea in celebration of her 8th birthday. The staff was fantastic! Everyone wished her happy birthday and complimented her dress. Masks required until seated. Staff wears masks and gloves when serving. They explained everything. The scones were heavenly and the fresh lemon cream butter was the perfect touch. Everyone received individual tea pots filled with their selection. Mountain Berry is the best tea I've ever tried! They brought out the three tier platter and my niece received her very own since she was the birthday girl. The variety was perfect and everything tasted amazing! Came here with a group for a friend's birthday. I had high expectations considering how expensive the high tea is priced. We were seated upstairs in astor court, the venue is very pretty. We had 2 servers. They explained how the menu works and I asked what the diffeeence between $55/$65 was, to which the server told us that you get a glass of champagne, any of the 3 listed on the bottom left of the menu. Everyone out in their orders, and then the servers came back and said that that price only includes the Prosecco( the cheapest option). The scones came first with the tea. However, I thought it was strange that no milk was served along with it as it's a traditional part of high tea. The food towers arrived next, aesthetically pleasing, however, extremely disappointing in taste. I've never been to a high tea where Nobody enjoyed a single thing on the menu. Not only did the waiter have a very snooty attitude, but he was ridiculously slow with everything. But let me describe the full picture. - UNEXPECTEDLY SLOW SERVICE. Enough said already. - CAROLINA SANDWICH is very good, and the portion is massive. It is priced astonishingly high, but hey, you are eating at the St Regis after all. - GORGEOUS AMBIANCE. The chandelier itself deserves a good amount of appreciation for its beauty and elegance. - LITTLE FANCY TOUCHES. I brought my mom here for Mother's Day. She went to university in London, plus our family lived in southwest England for a time, so she loves and misses the traditional afternoon teas that are so commonplace over there. I had researched my options in Atlanta. While there were not many, I thought Astor Court offered a higher-end experience for a not-too-crazy price tag. Plus, I didn't want to go all the way downtown for the Four Seasons. I, too, initially called the reservation number and received an automated message stating that I could make a reservation on OpenTable. I did, and a few days later someone from Astor Court called to confirm and ask if anyone in our party had special dietary restrictions. I told him no. A few days later, I ended up calling them because I wanted to notify them that I was pregnant, and therefore probably couldn't eat anything with smoked salmon or runny eggs or the like. I also said my mom would have the same food preference (as a matter of taste, not because she is also pregnant). I guess they typically do have someone manning the phone, because I called the same number as I had before when I received the automated message. Anyway, the day came and I drove us over. Parking was confusing... I did not want to valet (if only I had read the reviews here first! Did not realize valet was validated or that it was a cheaper option than the parking deck). I ended up parking in the deck behind the hotel. It appeared to be a general parking deck and not the one for the hotel. The one for the hotel looked to be valet-only. We walked over and made it just in time for our reservation. Service was indeed slowwww. We were greeted right away and told that someone would be there to start the service, but it took forever for that person to get there! We were offered our scones first before the teas even arrived. I opted for the Mad Hatter's Tea Party and my mom chose the St. Regis Peach Blend. Initially, they did not leave the pots with us so we had to wait for them to come back to refill our cups -- that was a pain. Thankfully, after the first refill they left our pots behind (I would have asked them to, anyway). The tea I chose was delicious. Scones were also delicious, particularly the vanilla strawberry flavor. Very much enjoyed them with the clotted cream and lemon curd. Eventually, they brought out the tower of sandwiches and desserts. My eyes fell upon the layer of sandwiches and I asked the gentleman holding the tower if smoked salmon was among the sandwiches. He confirmed yes, and I explained to him that I had called Astor Court to tell them I specifically could not eat smoked salmon due to my pregnancy. He stammered out an apology, mentioned that he had seen in the reservation that I was pregnant but it did not mention anything about smoked salmon. Ugh. He asked what extra sandwiches I would like to replace the smoked salmon. I opted for an extra egg salad and an extra turkey & gouda. My mom stage-whispered to me that the gentleman appeared annoyed and pissed that he had to go back into the kitchen to replace the sandwiches, but I didn't really notice. Once we got our replacement tower, I tried just about every one of the sandwiches except the tomato-basil. My favorite by far was the egg salad, and I thought the turkey & gouda was pretty good, except the wheat bread was a bit stale. As for desserts, I only had enough room to try the orange & honey torte -- I was not a fan. Too sweet and dry. My mom commented that it was outrageously expensive for what we ate, but she was soon mollified when her sister in Australia told her that full afternoon teas such as the one at Astor Court are priced like that normally, and were like that in Australia as well. Overall, slow service aside, my mom and I had a great time just chatting and spending time together. I don't regret visiting Astor Court, but I probably won't be back. FYI - Parking ended up being $10 which was not horrible considering we were there an hour and a half. read more

"Meh" describes it just about as well as anything else I could say, except maybe that I won't be back! My aunt had a suite at the St Regis on a Saturday night, with which breakfast at Astor Court was included. At check-in, the concierge assured us it was a $60 meal per person, so a great deal to have it thrown in. (Yeah, right.) We walked in on Sunday morning around 10:30am and were seated immediately. The restaurant was fairly quiet. There was steady turnover but it definitely did not appear to be hectic or rushed... which became even more obvious when it took them over an hour to bring our food to the table. So, for backstory, we were in the midst of a Whole30 and both eating paleo-style. There wasn't a whole lot on the menu that we could choose from (which is totally OK; I don't expect restaurants to conform to every fad diet!). We tried to rely on the server to help us eat well but still within the bounds of our diet. I decided to go for the Burnt Ends Brisket Hash ($25; brisket burnt ends, potatoes, peppers, onions, pepper jack cheese, two eggs any style), just without the cheese; the server assured me it was doable. My aunt kept it pretty simple and had just a side of bacon and green juice. After 45 minutes or more, the manager stopped by to apologize but didn't give an explanation for what was taking so long. He offered some bread service on the house - which... OK, but we weren't paying AND weren't eating grains so the "free" bread was more thoughtful than helpful. We turned it down. A few minutes later, the server came by with a bread basket anyway. Whatever. Finally, after the one hour mark, our tiny breakfast came out - a small hash about six inches in diameter, a side of scrambled eggs, a side of bacon and a juice. I took one bite of the hash (which looked and smelled oh-so-yummy) and immediately got a mouthful of cheese. What a disappointment. After everything else, they couldn't leave out the one food I couldn't eat! The manager comped a few items off the bill - which, again, we didn't have to pay. If we had, I would have asked him to comp the whole check. An hour for a tiny breakfast of eggs and bacon for two people is completely unacceptable, especially at such a high-end establishment. I recently went to Astor Court for tea with my mom to celebrate my birthday. When I got there they informed me my reservation was for brunch not tea. My mom called two months prior to reserve tea for this date so I know that was a mess up on their end. They also told the ladies behind me that their reservation had been canceled, so obviously something on their end messed up since everyones reservations were wrong. After waiting 45 minutes for them to correct our reservation we were finally seated. Tea was great. Food was delicious! Our waitress then brings our bill. The manager takes our card and then brings it back. We fill out the receipt and then head to the bathroom before we leave. As we are in the bathroom we get a phone call that we didn't pay our bill. So we go back to the front desk show them our receipt, they get the waitress who insists we didn't pay. We show her proof and she said "oh I didn't know" and walks away. It was a very embarrassing ordeal. Unfortunately I'm not sure if we will be back or not. The tea was good, but the service was terrible. read more

High tea - setting was lovely and scones were delicious, but it took almost 90 minutes to get food, which was, for $65 a pop, a huge disappointment. Sandwiches looked like they could have been miniature versions of what you'd get at Jason's deli, and the pastries were highly underwhelming. A mini macaron made of beets and a very dry and tasteless chocolate cake thing left a lot to be desired. The Turkey sandwich looked like it was at best boats head on a frozen mini biscuit, and the cucumber sandwich was basically on wonder bread. For that much money per person at such a fine hotel, I'd expect everything to be handmade. We asked the waitress if iced tea was available, to which the server asked "I'm not sure I understand what you're asking." Again, something that took us by surprise. read more
