I've consistently had great experiences with this place. 1) I call and request a pickup but am only free between 5pm - 5:30pm. No problem! Driver arrives at 5:05pm. Sometimes I'm not home till late. No problem! Driver arrives right on time. The woman on the line is super nice! 2) I put my nice shirts in a little bag with a note safety pinned on that says, NO DRY. No problem! Shirts come back on hangers having been hung dry. So convenient! 3) laundry is always impeccable folded and sorted/organized by type. This is my favorite part. So I've been on a bit of a hunt for a decent laundromat in the area that has that perfect balance for laundry service. It's only been once, but I think I may have found it. So far all pros and no-cons and that's the way it should be for a first time experience. After all, first impressions are everything right? A quick call the laundromat gave me all the quick answers I needed. $0.75/lb long hours for pickup / delivery (the lady told me sometime in the morning, I think 8am to 11pm) which is awesome, especially for weekdays when you're coming home late from work and most of the time same day wash and fold. Sounded perfect for me so I went ahead and asked for a pickup. They were at my front door within 20 minutes which was exactly when they said I could expect them and off they went with my laundry in the late afternoon of a Saturday. The driver asked me when I wanted it back to which I asked for later that day if possible. He said to call after 7 to check. When I called back it wasn't quite done yet, but they said it would be soon and to expect it at my door shortly after 8pm. That's exactly when it arrived back. Shortly after 8. Things I love about them? They keep you informed. They told me it wasn't done yet and when I could expect it, which is what they delivered on. My biggest peeve with other laundry places is the false promises of "we'll be there in 5 minutes" and the constant calling back and forth. Both drivers I dealt with were friendly and along with the lady working at the laundromat who answered my call spoke perfect English so there wasn't any chance of miscommunicating. Do not waste your time on this place. At first you will think that they do an alright job, not perfect... but who is? But slowly as you use them, the service will only get worse and worse. Let me use my latest, and last experience with them as an example. My roommate and I were skeptical about using them again as we had several mishaps with them in the past. Pick up went smoothly but when I called at 2pm to schedule a drop off, the earliest drop off they had was at 9. I told them that I would not be home until 10pm, and asked if that would be too late. so far so good. We have a slight issue about price (as they billed mine and my roommates orders together) but it was quickly remedied. 'Crisis averted' I thought. if only..... The delivery boy showed with our clothes a half hour early (I was lucky my roommate was home at all, as I told them before I would not be home until 10pm). When I did get home (at 9:30) I noticed half my clothes (all of the clothes I asked them to not put in a dryer) was not delivered. I immediately called, in the hopes that things could be quickly remedied. After having to argue with the guy (I guess some people just call to see where the other half of their clothes is for shits and giggles?) he finds the rest of my clothes and tells me they can get them to be before 11pm. Vague.. but ok.. sure..Around 10:15 I call to ask if he will be here soon, as I am sitting waiting for him in my gym clothes, and would very much like to take a shower. He tells me the delivery guy is on his way, and to just wait.. it wont be long. Cut to 11:20pm: I have now been calling for about 15 minutes, and no one will answer the phone and I am still waiting for my clothes to be delivered. Cut to 11:30 pm: A delivery boy (I say boy, as this kid could not have been over 18.. and I only assume that as its the legal driving age in new york) rings my door bell. When I answer, no apology.. no excuse... he just says "You look mad" ..... really? Please.. just dont waste your time... as that is all you will be doing. A side note.... when my roommate and I originally started using them, we found them on yelp and there were a mixed collection of reviews. Now there are none? This place is great. I have been doing my laundry with them since I moved to Astoria in January and won't be switching any time soon. They're extremely friendly, they pick up when they tell you they will, and they drop off at your convenience. Also, at $.79 a pound for pick up/drop off wash and fold, it's extremely affordable- and worth it. Best of all, they give you back your laundry smelling delicious (and not like dirty water) which is more than I can say for most pickup/drop of services that I've tried. Occassionally, when I'm feeling extra-productive I even bring my laundry in to do myself- the machines are always in working order, the space is huge so you don't feel cluttered while you're waiting for your clothes to wash, and as an added bonus they have free wifi. One gripe I have with this place is that I wished they accepted credit card, but then again, no one accepts credit cards in Astoria. read more

I have two experiences with this amazing place: before and after I started using the wash & fold service. I've always done my own laundry, and since moving to Astoria from Manhattan, I haven't had my own washer/dryer. Thus, the search was on. When I found Astoria Laundry, the biggest feature for me was the wireless internet. I've always preferred to have my own machines because I don't like the idea of walking back and forth between a laundry place to kill time. However, this place offers wireless internet, so I can watch youtube videos and generally kill time while my stuff is in the machines. That was worth 5 stars in and of itself. Then I took up my second job, causing me to freak a little about how I was going to get laundry done (in addition to how I was going to cook, etc, luckily it all worked out). I was expecting to pay boatloads to have my laundry done, but I was surprised at how cheap the wash & fold service was. I was even more surprised when everything came back extremely neat and extremely clean. After many, many loads, I still have yet to have a lost or messed up item. Their dry cleaning is very quick and reliable too. I've had a few suits done there and they've always delivered on time. I've never had to worry about the delivery showing up when I'm not at home to receive it. Overall, I'm really impressed with this place and they will continue to have my business for as long as I have dirty laundry. (Which I don't ever expect to stop happening, haha). read more

The best! The people know me by face/name. I can drop off my laundry,and they are completely understanding about time constraints for delivery (free delivery!!!) and always on time, or EARLY. Super friendly and super reliable, and really a neighborhood business. I can't tell you how awesome it feels to drop off my laundry and have the woman print out a receipt (because she knows my face/name/address, etc), and ask me when I'd like it to be delivered. Rude. Unprofessional. Ruined my whites on a couple different occasions and I had no choice but to keep using this place as it was the only place that picked up and delivered my laundry back to my 3 story walk up in queens (I'm 5'3" & 100lbs - I def can't lug my 2-3 HUGE bags of laundry up & down stairs by myself). After 2 years of dealing with them not remembering my address, and not sticking to the schedule of when they'd claim to deliver my laundry back to me (causing me major issues when needing clothes for work during the week), all of a sudden one day they tell me they "don't pick up or deliver to my area anymore because it's too far" .... Really? After 2 years of me being a loyal customer, even as they were rude and unprofessional over the phone and ALSO unreliable when it came to delivering my clothes back on several occasions...? WOW.... PLEASE DO NOT USE ASTORIA LAUNDRY. Use a more professional laundry pickup/delivery service in Queens called Express1 Laundromat (718-786-3667)!!! Astoria Laundry can learn a thing or two from Express1 - Express1 stores your phone number, so when I call they greet me by my first name, my clothes come back brighter and more vibrant than they ever did before, and they def DON'T ruin my whites, they always return them whiter and brighter! They're kind and accommodating and PROFESSIONAL. Something Astoria Laundry should try working on & teaching the people who answer their phones as well. Easy in easy out. Place is clean. Staff is friendly. Three TVs to pass the time if you stay. Nice clean bathroom as well. I haven't used the pickup service but I have left my clothes for cleaning and always able to come back same day to pick them up. Everything is neatly folded-- they even add extra dryer sheets between-- and I haven't lost an item. Bonus: I thought my favorite shirt was ruined by a lovely oily dish I enjoyed. With a wash and fold price at 79¢ a pound at the time of this writing, I had to give this place a try. Well, that was several months ago and I have been dropping my laundry and getting it delivered pretty consistently since (discounting the days where I was a smelly lout, which cannot be entirely blamed on them). There is the usual sock or two missing over time, but I have had that experience with every drop off wash and fold I have ever used. I have been using Astoria Laundry since September 2011. This company is understanding with time pick ups and drop offs, and staying true to their promise on when laundry will be done. The ladies who answer the phone are very straight to the point and are professionally friendly. The men who pick up and drop off the laundry are also very professional and caring. This company has proved to be efficient, effective and outstanding-- until recently. About a month and a half ago I sent in for my laundry to be done. When received back, I noticed that all my whites in my laundry had a peach stain tint. I called the company back and they said they were so sorry and that they would fix it for free. 3 days later they said everything was fixed, and that it was ready for drop off. I was excited because the items were brand new towels, and new shirt and 2 shirts of mine. I was upset to see that there had been no change to the discoloration of my items. I then went down personally to the building and showed them the items compared to my other white items. The man working behind the counter was trying to hard to be friendly, explaining that he was a student hoping to go to law school, anything to take the focus off the main reason why I was there. He tried to tell me that they weren't responsible to make the shirts and towels look brand new but to make them look like they did before they got ruin, I said I understand however, 3 of the items were brand new before being ruined. He explained that the items would take about a week and a half to fix and if I was okay with that and I said yes. I struck gold when I called back a week later and they said the items were fixed. And meaning I struck gold was when I saw that my towels were fixed yet the shirts were still ruined. I decided to let it go because I knew they tried their best. Just now I called to order a pick up, and the same gentleman who spoke to me on person questioned about the white laundry. I told him I was grateful that the towels were fixed but still very upset that the shirts were still ruined, and he said "well at least they are not name brand clothing, you know they are just plain old tshirts you know" and I proceeded to say "regardless of the fact if they are name brand or not, they are still shirts that I spent money on" then he continued to say "just because they may not have monetary value, doesn't mean it doesn't have sentimental value", well yes incase you were wondering, the two shirts besides the 1 brand new shirt does have sentimental value. I am just upset at how this man is reasoning that I should be lucky about my ruined cloths. I will be heading down to the office tomorrow to speak to his manager. I am still giving this laundry company 3 stars because every other time I have used them they have proved to be excellent, they folding is magnificent as well as how good smelling the cloths are. I will continue to use this company but will steer clear of this one worker. ***UPDATE: 05/25/12*** Wow! I am so pleased with the customer service of this company. The day after I wrote my review, I went directly to the company and spoke to the woman who was working (I went during the daytime cause I know the young man doesn't work during the day). Upon telling her the little incident, she apologized over and over again and said she would speak to the manager. I said that's more than fine, I just wanted someone to know. Later that afternoon, I got a phone call from the young man apologizing for the way he spoke to me and that the current laundry I had at the store would be free of charge. He once again danced around the issue trying to put it on me saying that he hopes theres no hard feelings and what not, making it more of a 'personal' issue rather than a 'professional' issue. Nonetheless, I was very pleased with the action the company took to approach this. All was said and done, and then I received another phone call today from the company, Jerry, who I believe is the owner. He called to get my side of the story and apologized profusely. He continued to focus on the main issue which was the damaged whites. He said that they would like to take another stab at cleaning the items (free of charge) and that regardless if the stains came out, I would received a $35 (the amount of all 3 t-shirts together) credit towards future loads. As I stated in the previous post, and on the phone with Jerry, I will continue to use the company because of how well the service is. Yes, the whites were still stained, but in the previous post you can see how I was please that the towels were fixed because it could obviously be shown they were trying to fix the stains on the items. After this incident, I will continue to recommend Astoria Laundry because of how professional, efficient and reliable the service is. I will also recommend to just steer clear o that one employee. Stay away from as far as possible! The people here are horrible workers. I am just going to go with my laundromat across the street. I've tried these people at least 3 times. Three strikes and you are out. They are really poor at communicating and PLEASE hire someone that speaks better english. If you are going to be working around different people you need to be able to communicate. First of all no one gave me any inclination that I had to schedule a time for it to be delivered back. Second of all, I get my clothes back and half of it smells like smoke! I almost want to wash my laundry again and feel like I wasted my money. Get better employees and better customer service. Then the driver got mad I didn't tip him after receiving sub par service. He drove away and called me to say he "knocked" on my door but no one answered. Any common sense would tell you if I don't answer the door to call me. I live in a single apartment building with stairs so how the hell would I hear that? I do not have a doorbell. I've had them pick up my laundry before, and found the price to be ... questionable. I'd rather drop it off and be able to see what it weighs myself. Other than that, they tacked on a charge for hangers for my "do not dry" items. It was same day; I would have been fine with them in a bag. As far as the drop-off/delivery goes, I've had relatively good experiences. They're a bit disorganized (i.e., "We'll have them by tomorrow morning" might not be exactly accurate) but the clothes are neatly folded. They also put several dryer sheets in each bag of clothes - boyfriend loves it; I do not. The do-it-yourself service is good. Decent prices, but it gets very crowded as of late - they've gotten popular, and the employees take up a lot of machines and space. read more

It is now Thursday night and I AM STILL WITHOUT MY LAUNDRY. I have called them twice to arrange delivery times and it has not shown up yet. I really appreciate Astoria Laundry. Jerry, Telly, and Katherine are pleasant and do their best to provide good service. Jerry is very friendly and always remembers me. I do wish they accepted credit cards, however; it would be more convenient for me than going to a cash machine. Recently, when I picked up laundry, Katherine remembered I had shirts to be picked up which had been there for 5 months. My voicemail hadn't been working, so she was unable to inform me by phone. Also, yesterday, I needed safety pins, but couldn't find any for sale in the neighborhood shops. As I passed AL, I remembered they use pins to attach receipts to bags; Katherine was kind enough to supply me a few at a low price. I appreciate these customer service touches. They also pickup and deliver; other places nearby advertise this on their signs, but don't actually do it. You can even request pickups via their Web site! They sometimes call if they're out on a delivery on a Saturday to see if you have laundry for pickup. Unheard of anywhere else, but when you think of it, it's very smart. And if something is wrong, they find a way to make it right. AL is open 365 days a year and has free Wi-Fi. I never do my laundry myself; I use the fluff and fold, but if I ever do, I'll be bringing my computer with me. I was so glad when AL opened in the neighborhood. Astoria needs to shed more of its dumpy establishments and attract classy businesses like this. read more

I have lived in Astoria for 3 years and have gone to a few laundromats trying to find a good one. Astoria Laundry is the last stop. The owners and very personable and just great guys all around. I somehow always manage to have a few laughs with the owner Jerry when I am there :) The women who work there are friendly and fold my clothes better than I do! I can't find a single good delivery laundromat in Astoria still. So in a pinch, I used this place again for pickup/ drop off. I was told my laundry would be dropped off between seven and nine and it came at 11:30 they stopped answering their phones and were super rude again This place is total garbage...never again. read more

Pretty disappointed with this place. After moving to Astoria and trying to find a good laundry place, Astoria Laundry came highly recommended. I loved that they picked up and delivered. I also had a few special requests that they were able to accommodate. When my laundry was returned I realized that they didn't return my original laundry bag, I was missing a large item (bathroom rug), and they had washed a white All Saints tank top ($60) with a load of black clothes. I called them and they found and returned my rug, told me that they gave me the bag I gave them (mine had a big skull on it.... Hard to misplace), and said they separate all loads and there is no way the shirt could have been ruined (maybe they use black dye with every load?) I'm very disappointed and will not be returning here, nor would I recommend it. read more

Caveat Emptor! Let me preface this by saying that I use Astoria Laundry on a weekly basis, I typically call for a pickup on Saturday and call for delivery on Sunday. Bottom line, they are extremely inconsistent. The inconsistency extends to their customer service (or lack there of). Inconsistency and poor service seems to be amplified when you are looking for 24 hour turn around on laundry (my experience I would recommend planning on a 48 hour minimum turn around to mitigate hassles). Pick Up - They are typically pretty on point with pick ups and will arrive within the specified window. Although I have had occasion where they arrive and pickup my laundry and then 3 hours later another person showed up with a ticket asking for the laundry that I had already given hours earlier. Delivery They consistently tell you a delivery time and not arrive within the delivery window (i.e. "before 9pm"). They will tell me to expect a delivery before 9pm and then when I call at 11pm asking where the delivery is they give me attitude like I am the jerk-off for calling! (Also I live literally 10 blocks away from the 31st street location and about 20 blocks from the location on 24th ave. It should not be hard to estimate delivery within that proximity) Astoria Laundry also seems to lack a consistent "process" for scheduling deliveries/pickups and generally dealing with administration of deliveries/pickups. - I will call and schedule a pick up and they will tell me to call back the next day to schedule the delivery. - I will call and schedule a pick up and they will ask when I want a delivery and schedule that right then and there. - I will call and schedule a pick up and they will tell me to call back the next day to schedule a delivery, and then when the pickup person arrives they will ask me when I want it delivered! - I will call and they will ask for my phone number to look up my account half the time and the other half ask for a name. Positives (as I mentioned I do use they weekly): - Laundry is done well - Laundry is folded well - Laundry smells good! Tips: - If you plan for a pickup and delivery window of 48hours + there is a dramatic decrease in attitude and horrible delivery time estimate misses. Full Disclosure - I have suffered in silence week after week. Today after I called (before noon) to request a delivery for this evening, and was told me they would deliver after 5 pm, and just now at 7:45pm got a call from Astoria Laundry and was told that there was a mix up and my laundry was not ready and they would not be able to deliver till tomorrow morning after 9am. This consistently poor execution & horrendous communication motivated me to share my experiences on YELP. I will continue to use Astoria Laundry but moving forward will never attempt to use them for 24 hour turn around. read more

I was in NY for a business trip last week and needed a suit and shirt cleaned and pressed over the weekend for a Monday morning meeting. I spent the whole saturday morning looking for a dry cleaner that would have my things ready before 9am monday morning. Astoria Laundry was the only dry cleaner I found that had my clothes cleaned, pressed and ready for me at 8 oclock monday morning so that I can look sharp for my meeting. These guys are great and pricing thats just as good if not better than the rest. If you're in a squeeze for dry cleaning, give them a shot. If I could give them 10 stars, I would in an instant. I plan on getting my regular laundry there next time I'm in town. read more

after reading the good reviews here, i was very excited to have found this place - they picked up & delivered in hours that were conducive to my schedule (apparently not easy to find in astoria). the first time i used them, they were great - on time and couldn't be nicer. After using them once i received a call from (i think?) the manager asking how my experience was. i thought this was a very nice gesture - told him everything was great and i was planning to use them again. then he told me he had a great deal for me and asked if i was on yelp. now i'm skeptical, but told him yes i was on yelp... and the "great" deal he offered me was half off the next time i do my laundry... in exchange for a 5-star yelp review. i was taken aback and immediately wondered if this was why they had such a high rating on yelp. being someone who can't be bribed (and who usually likes to go to a place more than once before writing a review) i told him i wasn't interested in the deal. he said he'd give it to me anyway, which he did. and while i was uncomfortable with this proposition, i continued to use them because they did a pretty good job with my laundry. after this experience though, the customer service began to decline steadily. laundry promised to be delivered at a certain time was over an hour late. laundry promised to be picked up at a certain time was not, causing me to be late to work. i got some of my laundry air-dried and once the laundry got delivered but the air-dry portion was missing. i asked the kid (maybe 19 or 20?) who delivered it where the other half was and he acted like he could give a shit - just said he didn't know and that if i wanted to, i could call them. umm shouldn't HE have offered to do that? so he smugly stood against his van as i called them and sure enough, the rest of my laundry was there so the kid had to go back . it got to the point where i dreaded having to call them and knew i needed to look for a new place, but i was lazy. then one morning i called asking for a pick up later that morning and was told that time wasn't available. so i asked when i could get a pick up and was told not til after 5pm because someone was out sick that day. i hung up and called back asking if i could request an early pickup the next day and was told "i don't know." umm okay, so i asked if there was someone i could speak to, i.e. a manager, who would know. i was simply told "no." ok. "well, when will someone be in who i can talk to who might know?" i was told "i'm not sure, maybe in a couple of hours." i called back in a couple of hours. still no manager. this time i was told he would not be in. when i said i called earlier and was told he'd be in around now i was told, "oh, he should be here in about an hour." so i called back in a hour. still no manager. i called back again later, still no manager. never once did this person offer to have the manager call me when he gets in. finally i asked for this to happen. the manager called me and acted like he was bothered to have had to call me but did say i could get an early pick up the next morning. he said to call at 8am for a 9am pickup. (not sure why i couldn't just schedule the pickup at that time for 9am but whatever). i call the next morning at 8am and requested a 9am pickup. the voice on the other end was the manager i spoke to the day before and he asks "was this scheduled or are you asking for a pickup?" what?! i proceed to explain again to him the details of the day before and he said no problem, someone will pickup from me at 9am. 9am comes and goes. around 9:20am i call him back and he rushes me off the phone saying "they're on their way!" and hangs up. knowing i will again be late to work because of this place, i go down to wait on my stoop. finally around 9:40am, i see a girl with an empty cart slowly walking down my street and she comes to pick up laundry. i know that she wasn't on her way when i called at 9:20am, that's when she was sent - SO annoying. and the delivery later that night wasn't without issue either. this last experience with them was by far the worst and indeed the last time i plan to ever use them. i have found another place in astoria who's hours aren't AS conducive to my schedule, however, i'd rather work around that than deal with this place again. i'm really curious if any of the 5-star reviews here were posted without being bribed with half off laundry - i doubt it. read more

Found it via Yelp, and it is as good as everybody says. When I asked for less detergent smell in my laundry, it was done by the next order. When there was another problem, they immediately mobilized to make things right, calling me back within an hour. And after that, no problems. The delivery and pick up service comes when promised (a big one for me) and their pricing is good. Could use some more seating and a better atmosphere for those staying to wash, but there are TVs and free Wifi. Frequent discounts offered on @astorialaundry. read more

I moved to Astoria about a year ago and have been going to this place for fold and wash ever since. When I lived in the UWS I always had problems with the detergent not being washed out of the clothing which bothered my skin. This place gets my laundry done faster than I actually need it done which is more than a plus. The alteration jobs there are incredible as well and much cheaper than expected. They have mended some of my favorite jeans I thought might be ready to retire. Could not recommend this place anymore. read more

Their prices are great, and the facility is well-kept. The service is personable and they deliver it to your door for free! After the absolute nightmare of C&M laundry a few blocks north, it was like night and day coming to this place. The staff spoke English as a fluent language, instead of archaic greek garbles. They didn't give me the evil eye for coming in for a wash at 9pm (or complain I was going to hold up closing the place). Let's talk about the positive, newest, nicest machines of any laundromat in the 11105 area. Nice stone tile flooring, no major issues with machines, although you have to hit them if you put quarters in too fast, but you don't lose quarters at least. Nice new dryers that did the job even when I threw several towels and a bathrobe in there for 30 min. Basically, everything you could ever want from a laundromat! read more

This place was recommended by a friend so I gave them a call and spoke to a very nice woman. What was great was that I called late Sunday afternoon and they still picked up my laundry. I scheduled a pick-up for when I got home from work on Monday. The laundry was perfectly folded and smelled like heaven! My issue is with the price. I guess laundry is more expensive in Astoria because most everyone has their own washers, but $28 for one week for my husband and I is too expensive. They're the ok of the worst. I dropped off dry cleaning here on a Saturday morning and made it clear that I absolutely needed it by Wednesday morning. The lady reassured me that it would be ready. It didn't come in until Wednesday night-- after I called them multiple times. I say they are ok because the dry cleaning job was fine, things were pressed, and the lady was very nice and gave me a discount. At other cleaners in the area *cough G&M* my clothes have been late, ruined, no discount, no apology AND they are rude. Prices are about average. read more

To update my review (which got filtered for some reason). 2 months ago i realized about half a bag of clothes were missing and kept calling the store. The woman was just getting mad at me for calling so much and, naturally, never called back. It's 2 months later and one of the managers called my fiance and I got to talk to him. He seems like a nice enough guy, offered us $100 in credit and said he'd look into finding our clothes. As I told him, if our clothes are found, they will get bumped up to 3 stars. read more

I needed my clothes washed on Halloween and Millie had them ready in a couple of hours. Always folded nice and smelling pretty!

So, it's coming up on 72 hours for getting my laundry done. They've missed the two hour window and now won't pick up the phone. I've called eight times. Wondering if I'll ever see my clothing again. And I'm already late to work because now I have to sit and wait two hours past the delivery window, with the slim hope that they will actually show up with the clothes I need to GO TO MY JOB! I thought by dropping off my clothing on Saturday that I could reasonably expect to have laundered clothes by Tuesday. Apparently not. read more

The quality of service at this Laundromat has deteriorated significantly over the past several months. I used to be a regular at this Laundromat but I will no longer bring any of my business here. Previously they would service all "wash and press" dress shirts on site. They have now outsourced this somewhere. Ever since then the prices have only increased and the service quality deteriorated: - No longer can you count on your shirts arriving on time. The ticket may say Monday if you drop it off on Friday but come Monday night, it is still not there. - I have found mysterious stains on my dress shirts when I get home. They have ranged from white chalk-like stains to black scrapes across the shirt sleeve. Some of these stains have *not come out* and the shirts are permanently ruined. *I have never had this problem when they did it on site.* These shirts came back stained because all I do is bring it home in the wrapping and hang it up individually wrapped until I wear it next. - When you have a shirt cleaned they will place a plastic clip thing to hold the two shirt sleeves together. This clip has changed since they outsourced and now it is very difficult to take it off and has slightly torn one of my shirt sleeves! - Dry cleaning a suit is an entirely new story. At any cleaners I have been to, when you dry clean a suit they will place the coat on a wire hanger with some cardboard support on the collar region. This will prevent it from creasing or getting damaged... I dry clean a $700 suit and it comes back on a metal hanger without any support. I notice this when I get home and see that it's as if it's never been ironed and looks like garbage. I ironed it myself in the end but come on... I highly recommend you to reconsider bringing any business here! read more

Unless you'd also like to submit a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and start a small claims case, stay away. I took 2 dresses to Astoria Laundry one month ago. I returned and paid for them to be laundered on July 20th. The next morning when I was getting ready for work, I realized that I was not able to wear one of my dresses because the breast cups had been destroyed, twisted, and were shrunk. The second dress did not have a problem, so I was able to wear it to work. That night when I came home, I took the dress over to Astoria Laundry and explained to the employee and the manager that the dress was damaged and I could no longer wear it. I asked how they would like to proceed with repairing or refunding me for the dress (I spoke to the employer, Jerry, and the employee, Victor), and they had apologized and offered to take it to their tailor, free of charge, to fix. At this point, additionally, I had not yet requested a refund of cost of having the dress dry cleaned. Four days later, I returned for the dress. I was told that their tailor had told them he didn't know what to do, and the dress was not repaired. I informed them I could not wear the dress, and asked how we should proceed. The owner, Jerry, had asked for more time to take the dress to a tailor. I agreed, and was thanked for my patience. 5 days later I returned for the dress, which was rolled up into a ball in the corner of the store. The cups were no longer twisted, but they were flattened out, had no form, had completely shrunk, and destroyed the integrity of the dress, a $118 blue and white polka dot Betsey Johnson dress with a sweetheart top. At this point, 2 weeks after I had brought the dress to the dry cleaners, I asked how they would like to proceed, and that I found it very disheartening that my dress was rolled up in a ball and thrown in the corner of the room like trash. The manager, Jerry, both agreed that I would rather have that one fixed that deal with having to have it replaced. I was asked for one more (a third) chance to fix the dress, which would be brought to another tailor, and Jerry verbally promised to replace the dress if it could not be repaired. This was on Thursday, he said he would have it back by Monday. I told him I would return Tuesday and give him an extra day to make sure the tailor didn't feel rushed. When I came back for the dress that Tuesday, the employee, Victor, was there. The dress was on the rack. The cups had been replaced. They unfortunately were replaced with an extremely poor quality, uncomfortable material, which was 4 times thicker than the original breast cups. Jerry was not here this time, just the employee, Victor. I told him the cups were ruined, and when I looked at the was the dress was opened, it was stitched extremely poorly (to the point where it would have been entirely undone at the next dry cleaning. I had told Victor that this can't be worn, he had replied that he doesn't see what was wrong with it. I told him at this point I need a replacement by Saturday, the 10th and the dress could be thrown out. He asked for one more chance to fix it. I responded politely, at this point, that I don't know how many other customers would give a dry cleaner 3 weeks and 3 chances to take a dress to 2 different tailors to fix. I reminded him his employer's guarantee to replace the dress, could it not be fixed, and went one step further to search on my phone for a link for the dress to email it to them. The link for the replacement sold the Betsey Johnson dress through another retailer, and I told him at the top of the page was a coupon for 15% off, so in total he could replace the dress for half the cost of what it sold for. He again asked for one more change, and I told him no more and that I will be back Saturday, 8/10. I returned 8/10. The dress was on a hanger, but it was the original one. I asked where the new one was, Victor said that he called his boss and his boss over the phone had told him the dress was fine and it would not be replaced. At this point I asked for a refund for the cost to have the dress dry cleaned, and asked for him to call his boss. He told me his boss was on vacation, and when I asked him for the store information and his boss's name (so I could have his surname), he told me he wasn't allowed to say. He was laughing, extremely rude, told my (verbatim), 'Destroyed stitching is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. The dress is fine." And the agreed upon resolution, my ruined dress, and my being upset were neither his responsibility or fault, since he only works there. And after I had asked if he needed to take pictures for his records, he told me to stop talking. Just do yourself a favor and avoid this place. read more

I picked this laundromat based on Yelp reviews. Never using them again! I scheduled a Saturday 2pm pickup, no show. Called to reschedule a pick up for 6pm, no show. Both times, they didn't call me to inform me that the driver didn't show up. So I wasted hours that day waiting. Finally managed to get my laundry picked up the next day, and dropped off the following evening, only to discover that they lost FOUR socks. Also, I was not informed that there was a $25.00 minimum for pick up service, even though the website says "free pick up and delivery". NO THANK YOU! read more

As convenient as their pick up and delivery service seems to be, I have spent more time waiting for them or calling to see where they were than anything else. Tonight is the 4th time in a row that they gave me a 2 hour window for pick up and an hour after the window I call and am told that I was never put on the list. I understand that the times can be slightly off, thus I waited a full hour each time. But this time I've had enough, there are plenty of other places in the area that offer the same services that have better customer service. If you don't mind waiting around for an entire day and calling multiple times, they do a nice job with the actual wash. read more

Excellent pick up laundry service in Astoria. Sometimes late, but always come through and speak English. Yes, this is where we do our laundry and dry cleaning once a week. I like the way all our clothes are folded and sorted. read more

I do my dry cleaning here at Astoria Laundry. The prices are good and the people are friendly. You can clean dress shirts for under $2 and a mens suits for about $9. Cathy was very kind here but now Milly always greets me with a smile. I recommend this laundry to my friends. read more
