The load of laundry was about half the minimum amount, which I was willing to pay because I'm aware it's difficult. But now you turn me away? I agree with the previous reviewer here - this review is difficult to write, because Helen is friendly and I wish nothing but success for small businesses. However, both the wash & fold service and dry cleaning here has ruined clothing of mine on several occasions. Clothes are washed and dried on VERY high heat, and it causes them to come back scratchy and, in some case, literally falling apart. Anything with decorative lace is destroyed. What's more is that the items do not come back smelling or feeling especially clean and fresh. My towels are less absorbent after bringing them here. One dress I brought in for dry cleaning came back with a grommet completely melted and torn out of the dress - and it was not brought to my attention when picking up, I only discovered it when I got home. I had only worn this dress once and it's now unwearable. As convenient as this location is for me, it is not worth risking every piece of clothing I own being ruined. read more

Terrible. At $6+ a shirt to dry clean each they don't even bag them individually or button up the shirts. I didn't pay for a wash and fold or a wash and press. Shirts smell bad and not fresh. Most of the laundry/dry cleaning services in the area are complete rackets with KM being the one exception. Wash and fold is $1/lb and dry cleaning is also super reasonable. The turnaround is quick; I usually drop off my laundry in the afternoon and pick up the next day around the same time and for dry cleaning I've never waited more than 2 days. I've been using their services for exactly one year now and they have yet to lose anything of mine. Everyone here is friendly and it feels great to support their small business. I will admit that I agree with one of the previous Yelpers who mentioned that everything is washed and dried on hot. So if I have to clean anything that's more delicate I'll choose to hand-wash it myself or dry clean and I only bring things in for wash and fold that I don't mind being washed with hot water. read more

I came here for the first time because a friend recommended this place. The prices were reasonable and the service was good. Everyone working there was friendly and knew what they were doing. The laundry is only $1 per pound and the service is quick. Definitely coming back here again. read more

If you are chemically sensitive or have allergies, don't consider using this place. When I dropped off my laundry I provided fragrance free laundry detergent and was reassured by Helen that my laundry would be fragrance free. Unfortunately, that was not the case when I got it back. To make matters worse, when I went to talk to Helen about it, she told me that she didn't smell anything and there was nothing she could do. I even offered to provide a bottle of vinegar or Charlie's spray to remove any detergent residue from previous loads. She refused to try this, saying that it would "ruin her machine," which I know for a fact is not true. These are safe, effective solutions for removing detergent residue from laundry machine drums. I was shocked by Helen's response because she said valued customer care when I first went to see her. She told me to let her know if I wasn't happy with anything. Apparently she really doesn't want to know. Helen may be "sweet," as other reviewers have said, but only if you don't complain about any issues with your laundry. read more

I enjoy coming to this place. I had my pants that needed dry cleaning. It was dirty and smelled bad. When I discovered this place, the prices were reasonable and service was good. I told them I had a few pants to give them. When I came back, they removed all the stains and looked new. The price was $6 per pants, which is great. This will be my place to go. Service is not as good as you think. I've used this place a few times before without issues. But the ONE time I found two stains on my suit pants (they came back with two oil stains), the place refused to re-clean the pants. Henry has gotten things re-cleaned for my roommate many times before, but he refuses to do the same for me the ONE time that I found a stain. So essentially, I sent my pants to them only to get even dirtier. This place needs to use new vendors who can actually clean your clothes better. The owner, Henry, was also rude and abrupt as well. I asked him nicely about the pants and he just refused to even entertain the idea to get the pants re-cleaned. It's not about the money - I want my pants to come back clean, not dirty. I got my first dry cleaning in NY done here. At first I was a little shocked by the price, $65. But then I thought about it and I got 2 pairs of pants, one suit jacket, a dress, and 2 shirts cleaned. That not too bad of a deal. I was also impressed with how crisp my clothes turned out and how clean they were. My suit pants had that nice clean line down the middle of them and They even stuffed the shoulders of my suit jacket on the hanger to keep it crisp. Sadly, I am changing jobs and won't be near the area anymore. But they are so great that I will still consider becoming a regular here! read more

I struggled with this review because Helen really is a very nice person and the price is better than almost anywhere in the neighborhood. But there is a reason the cost is so low, and sooner or later, it shows. I mostly went to Helen for wash and fold and shirt laundering services. She uses high heat washers and driers and the combination of equipment and temperature prematurely wore down my clothes. I had ripped sheets, burnt fleeces, and scratchy clothes. But these things happen when you use a commercial laundromat. The bigger problem was the lack of responsibility when problems occurred. When my sheets ripped, it was because they were old. When buttons broke, it was because they were flimsy. When every single piece of fleece (including a blanket, a jacket, and a hat) in a load was burnt, it was because they were poor quality and old. Even getting them to replace broken buttons when laundering shirts -- a standard service -- was a struggle. Look, I get that it's a one-woman shop and she doesn't have the resources to personally fix every small problem that occurs. But I can't keep going back to a place that consistently breaks down my clothes and tells me that it is my fault. Sutton Cleaners nearby is more expensive. But they do a better job day to day and fix problems gracefully when they occur. To me that is the better buy. read more

We love Helen!!! She is the owner. She has the best prices and is very quick. Laundry smelled good and was all clean when we got it back. Only negative is that this little place is cash only- but who cares when the prices are so good!! We only go to her for dry cleaning and laundry! read more
