When I got there, I met Carlos and Melanie, who were very warm and friendly. We chatted while I waited for my pizza to finish and he said it would be the best pizza I've had. I took it home & got my movie on, maybe 25 mins go by before I eat it so it's cooled down a good bit. It was warm. The sauce was soooooo good, perfect amount of cheese, topping, flavor. Very small place that is serving some great pizza by a friendly owner named Carlos. We tried the regular cheese 18" pie and asked for it to be well done. Carlos did not let us down, as every bite was crispy. I would suggest doing take out as the inside is very small with just one table to sit at. The other thing to note about Astra Pizza is that it also makes a traditional square pan pizza " Sicilian" style. I've had both the traditional New York round and the Sicilian and both are awesome! I grade pizza on the dough, sauce, cheese and toppings. 1-10 with 1 being terrible and 10 perfect. Dough - 6 cooked thru but could use a brush of garlic butter to give it some taste on the crust. Sauce - 8 really tasty not too sweet which is how I like it. Cheese - 7 got extra cheese so can't rate how it is regular but the cheese was ok not high end mozzarella but still ok. Toppings - 7 fresh veggies could of used a little more coverage but overall good. So rating comes to a 7. Would I order again? 5* pizza, 3* wings. After seeing the Yelp reviews for the meat lover's pizza we knew we needed to try it. In a word: perfect. If you like thin crust pizza and miss the taste of New York, you need this in your life. Unfortunately, the wings did not dazzle the way the pizza did. While passable, I doubt we will order them again. They are too dry and they are just tossed in sauce after they are cooked, which means the flavor--while tasty--is fairly weak.
