I searched for a dermatologist in my area that is as knowledgeable and inexpensive as Kellie but procedures where I live are unreasonably expensive. I went to her for skin treatment a few years ago when I still lived in Cali and she was very caring and thorough. She noticed I had some scaring (my body scars very easily) from the last time I visited her so she fixed those areas and made sure I wouldn't scar this time around. Came in & got a mole procedure done. My main concern was a mole behind my neck that I mentioned to her & she said it would be a simple removal. 2 weeks later during healing process, I noticed part of the mole is still there. I contact the Dr. & she says it's a different mole that she can fix. (The small mole that is still there is grazing the mole procedure area where she worked on). I asked if her will I be charged full price again in which she said yes. I'm thinking why couldn't she mention to me that there is actually 2 moles behind my neck area during the consultation. I had a total of 3 moles removed because that is her deal; 3 for $200. If I had known the mole behind my neck was actually 2 different moles, I would've just told her just to use 2 of the 3 mole removals for back there instead. Just felt like I didn't get exactly what I wanted because this left over mole was considered an entirely different one, even though it was close enough to be grazing from the original mole area , but not close enough to her to be considered as one. Regardless, just wished the Dr. took bit more time to mention there was actually two moles there and that she would let me know she would be removing only one part of it. read more

Today my husband went to Kelli at Astra laser to get 12 moles removed. He originally was going to do five but an initial visit is $200 for five moles and $20 each thereafter, therefore better to just get as many done as possible at once. She numbed the moles and then basically cauterized them , I.e. burned them off. My husband was in there about 30 minutes and it cost us $340 in total. She seemed to put him at ease and really explained the procedure and outcomes. My husband's happy as is my checkbook that we didn't have to spend $$$$ at a plastic surgeons office. So after reading all the good Yelp reviews I though I'd give Kellie a try for hair removal and I'm glad I did. She is very straight forward and knowledgeable. She does not pressure you and gives you all the information you need to make an informed decision. She does to oversell anything although she does offer specials. I signed up for a six pack of hair removal treatments plus a few others. First treatment result: results vary by person but I was amazed after my first treatment. I usually get stubble after 24 hours and growth starts after 72 hours. After the first treatment it took almost three weeks to see hair growth. As Kellie will explain, results depend on skin color and hair color. Works best on light skin and dark hair. It will NOTwork on natural blonds or dark skinned people. I'm Asian so medium skin tone with black hair. Looking forward to my second treatment tomorrow. Oh last thing, Kellie is not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. I came to Kellie after reading reviews on here and because I live in the area. I wanted to see what she could do about a keloid scar I have on my arm. I knew I could trust Kellie because she is a PA! When I got to my appointment Kellie greeted me and had me fill out some typical forms. When she looked at my scar she let me know there are no guarantees and everyone's skin is different. She explained the procedure thoroughly and treated my scar. I showed her my toe that I had problems with for forever and she told me she could treat it as well. Since turning forty last year, a few things have become apparent: I can no longer stay up until the early morning and wake up early expecting to be my bright and chipper self; it takes a LOT longer to recover from hikes and other strenuous forms of exercise; and that the wear and tear of life is definitely taking a toll on my skin. Until quite recently, I took it for granted that men actually DO have to take care of their skin lest they run the risk of looking like a saddle bag by their sixtieth birthdays. With that thought in mind, I visited Kellie Williams at Astra Skin and Laser Solutions in Orange to talk about a bunch of skin tags that I wanted removed (and thus avoiding the well meaning but ill conceived advice of a friend who told me to use nail clippers to remove them). From the moment I arrived, Kellie treated me as if I were an old friend coming over for coffee. She put me immediately at ease and showed a genuine interest in getting to know me. As it happens, I am a pre-PA student and actually chose Kellie because I thought it was only right to support a physician assistant trying to make a living. For the cost of removing five rather annoying skin tags, I also received an excellent education in the PA profession with some really great advice to boot. With respect to my procedure, Kellie did an outstanding job of explaining what she was doing, step-by-step, and even had the foresight to hand me a soft cushioned ball for my hand when she had to inject lidocaine to numb my skin (which hurts a little bit when it enters the injection site). She was thorough, gentle, and extraordinarily professional in every respect. The last time I had a similar procedure done at the dermatologist, she didn't explain anything about the procedure, proceeded to blame me for getting the skin tags (if you weren't so chubby, you wouldn't have gotten these in the first place), and mad the experience a humiliating one. Kellie, on the other hand, treated me like a rock star from beginning to end, even giving me some cold water while we chatted after the procedure. As a man, I'm not terribly comfortable talking about skin care, but she offered some great suggestions on ways I could continue to improve the longevity of my skin. In all honesty, I am looking forward to my next visit, just so I can catch up with Kellie! She's great at what she does and she's a class act. Too bad she can't be my primary care doctor. read more
