Never ate here, just stopped in to grab a drink. I really loved the lighting this place has! It's very warm and welcoming. It's located right in the Hard Rock Casino, just look for the big ASYLUM sign. I wanted a frozen cocktail ( as always ) but was told they didn't have a blender. My husband jokingly asked, if he could bring his own for next time ! I decided on a cider, they only had Strongbow. I only like Strongbow if it's on tap - which it was so we both got a pint of it. I think it came to around 18$ for the two drinks. Oddly, this one drink really gave me a buzz, which doesn't happen very often ( I don't drink enough to get one ) it was a fun surprise : )

We attended the Asylum Lounge this evening as a large party of 25. Considering the size of our party the service was good, friendly and helpful staff. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. The menu was not super varied, although that did work for our party.

I used to live in this neighbourhood so I was a frequent guest and I remember the food being really good back in the day. My friend and I decided to have a quick bite before seeing a movie and the John B was on the way to the theatre, so we stopped in for a quick meal. My friend had a beef dip with a side of "I Can't Believe They're Not Potato Skins" and I had an order of salt and pepper chicken wings. We both had a beer with our food and I was pleased to see they have quite a great beer selection. The patio is enclosed but felt very open and relaxing. Service was a little slow but they were pretty busy when we got there. Very friendly servers, too. Always nice to feel welcome when dining out.

The seating area is actually not as large as it looks from the outside. Fortunately there is a covered (but not enclosed or heated) N facing patio, protected from the street by a pile of shrubbery. Staff are friendly and cheerful. No complaints. The beer pricing is in line with other similar establishments. Somewhat decent selection as well. I didn't try the food this time, but it looked pretty decent as well. Will try next time.

There's free parking outside, just register your license plate when you enter the building. I went with 2 other friends on a Saturday night. The place was pretty full but we got lucky and only had wait a few minutes for a table. It was decently loud inside but it was still easy to have a conversation. The waitress we got was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items. I'm also super envious of her memory because there's no way I can remember who had which drink without writing it down for so many tables throughout the night!!! My friend also asked for a drink recommendation for the last round and she gave a great one. There's a lot of selection for drinks, as well as food. I really like their shared plates of finger food like tater tots and onion rings. My fish and chips were also very good. The table beside us ordered nachos and it looked huge and very delicious.

Aside from the time warp location, the food is easily 4*s, and honestly, I'd say it's better than White Spot as a comparable. The clubhouse sandwich contained actual turkey breast, not the deli turkey breast slices a lot of places use. That's an easy win right there. Very reasonable pricing to boot! It's basically a sports bar/pub grub menu set up. Pool tables as well. Lighting is on the darker side, with friendly and courteous service. They chat with you since they're curious as to how you know about the place. It's definitely not on too many peoples' radar for sure. They seem to like their hockey, as there are a couple of jerseys hanging. Guy Lafleur, Paul Henderson's autographed jersey from the Summit Series 1972, and a couple of others. Located in the basement of the Lougheed Village Mall, which is literally the Land that Time Forgot. I'm not exaggerating. Come and have a look for yourself. Free validated parking if you eat here. Recommend that you go for a stroll in the upper and lower levels and the courtyard whilst you're here. Maybe come in the evening during Halloween. You won't need to spook yourself out at a graveyard. This mall will suffice you plenty.

Wings are $2 more ($12.99) - I should have taken a pic or two of the menu to get all of the differences. Obviously, you're supplementing cost with your DD fees when you order delivery. The fellow behind the bar was super-friendly. He was working solo (dropped in there about 1:30pm on a Wed - not exactly "happy hour") :). I ordered two pints of their near-hazy pale ale, wings and potato skins and it came to $45. Not horrible, but the wings were the smallest size that Sysco sells (think pigeon) and the potato skins were tiny as well. Shrunken that the fillings didn't fill the skin. Repeat? Nope. Though, hate to say that as I found the bartender quite personable. There were a few regulars at the bar when I dropped in. Hoping this place sees a lot more activity on regular pub nights. Suggestions: get the medium-sized chicken wings (not the ginormous "turkey-sized wings"!) and make certain that the potato skins at least get alll of the potato back into them before you add the topings. :)
