We moved to the West Bloomfield area about three years ago from the Dearborn area. We have been looking for a good mid-eastern spot ever since. Because we have been spoiled with the best...our standards were pretty high. Well, White Palace hits the mark! You can always tell a good mid-eastern restraunt by the bread, garlic and fatoosh (that's just my standard). The bread is AWESOME..fresh baked in a stone oven..but, I have to say, it's the little things that makes the White Palace special..the little extras...such as the two sauces they offer to put on your safron rice...golden raisens on your rice...and great service. My husband and I frequent the White Palace at least once a week, and we've never been disappointed. Went there a few weeks ago for dinner, took 2 friends one being a vegetarian. She ordered a fattoush salad, we was surprised when it arrived because it was enough to feed all 3 of us. My buddy and me both ordered the Chicken Cream Chop, just like the salad 1 dish could've fed both of us. The portions are very generous, and the service we received was spot on. The Chicken was so tender, I was pretty hungry upon our arrival but could barely walk out. It came highly recommended by my barber so I had to try it out, can't wait to go back. read more

I love Middle Eastern food, and I was really excited to try this place out. It was completely empty when my fiancé and I went in, and for the duration of our meal it was a ghost town. His napkin and silverware were dirty and had hair on them. Our white bean stew was lukewarm, and our chicken shawarma lunch pate was sub par (none of the food was hot). The chicken Kafta will absolutely blow your mind, but all the meats are done very well. The bean soup is good. Potatoes soup is spicy (but good too). It's safe to say this was probably the worst restaurant I've ever ordered carry out from. First of all if you don't speak English you shouldn't be taking orders. All we wanted were 3 chicken sandwiches and they didn't even do that right. When someone says no garlic it doesn't mean add on extra garlic. Will never order from here ever again. And for those of you who don't speak Arabic I'd recommend you don't either cause they will get your order wrong. As for the employees there..try Rosetta Stone I've heard it does wonders. read more

White Palace is a very good restaurant. Very nice atmosphere, which you may not expect in a strip mall location. We had the Chicken Shawarma and Dolmas. Both were very authentic and delicious. Excellent service. Would recommend to anyone who likes Mediterranean food and they also have more generic food items such as Chicken Cordon Bleu and Chicken Picata Interesting Live Buffalo Fish item on menu...they have a fish tank in the front of the restaurant and you pick the fish you would like for dinner. Another table ordered this while we were there and it looked huge and delicious, but not something I would order. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant. read more

Blahhh, literally nothing to race to experience or write home about. The food was on "ok" at best, tried the buffet and was not impressed at all. ALOT of chicken dishes, one fish and one beef stir fry type dish. Service was good, it was 82 degrees outside and air conditioning hadn't kicked in because it was stuffy in there. read more

Very nice decor, however the service wasn't the best. I felt like the wait staff just wanted us to hurry up and get out of there. Our waitress simply did her job and had no personality what so ever. The bartender poored a good sized glass of wine, which I liked. Howvever the food was just ok. Not terrible, but my chicken was kind of rubbery. The food is hideous and very bad! I mean really crap. I had the beef Shawarma. It was below par. The environment and the decoration are so bizzare which is typical Chaldean style. I think the name of the restaurant should be Abandoned Palace instead. I noticed they have a fish bath, but when I looked there for few minutes, not even one fish moved a hair. Are they dead and going rotten in the water? And one more thing, why are you claiming that Shawarma, and Tandoori are Chaldean Foods? Why do you lie and fool people? How sad is that. I believe if Chef Gordon Ramsey of Kitchen Nightmares visits your restaurant, he will have a heart attack. Call 911 please. read more
