I have had service since July! I have had service guys come out 11 or 13 times. I have had the wireless receiver replaced, the modem, the jack, and don't forget the WAP as well as a cord. Digital Bundling is never a good idea in this neighborhood. I'm ready to buy some rabbit ears and give them a phone call (if the phone works) and bag it all. I have netflix and amazon prime. I signed up for internet when we arrived since two people in the house who work from home. They were here at the appointment time and the best was they put booties on to walk in the house. I decided to add TV and what I love is when we added everything together its cheaper to have TV then not. The installer was great and found a problem with the line outside. He did a short term repair and someone else is coming to bury it. Then they will be back to recheck to make sure everything is running and working perfectly. Either AT&T has the worst routers in the business or they are deliberately nerfing my router to try and sell me mesh network hardware. I suspect it is the latter. My house is not that large, but when I measure my Wi-Fi signal 60 feet (through 1 wall) from the router, I get "Excellent" signal strength but the device drops signal at least once every hour. This happens with multiple devices. I will be changing ISPs in the near future. read more

Worst I can ever imagine. Moved to Austin from Houston in February. I guess we were spoiled by Xfinity in Houston. Just an amazing, first-class internet and cable provider. We have to reboot our system multiple times daily. They didn't have NBC for a couple of months and said nothing about it when it happened or when it just came back. Continuously disappointing. I'm a professional who understands quality. The fact that they're not reading all of these reviews and doing something about their terrible service says their heading towards the company dive-bombing into not being viable. AT&T - If you want to succeed, go look over the shoulder of someone doing it right. XFINITY is the only cable/internet provider I've ever experienced. My neighbor was getting new internet and at&t came out and dug their line. While doing that they cut 4 neighbors fiber wires ours included. We called when they left with out fixing it. We called everyday for a week and a half. With no luck. We work from home so we were out of work for that whole time. During this time they were sure to talk the monthly payment. No reimbursement no prorated fees taken off. We were told on multiple occasions we were gonna be given money off our bill plus gift cards for their repeated mess ups. We received nothing. One of the neighbors changed his internet provider because of this. That company came and dug his new lines the day he called. I guess I'm gonna have to switch too. I have had consistently bad experiences with AT&T customer service. I left their wireless because of how they treated me. None of their systems seem to be connected, they put me on hold and transfered me several times having to repeat my issues multiple times without anyone actually helping. A year ago, they made me wait 3 HOURS multiple times and no one was able to give me the discount they PROMISED me when I signed up for their services. Today was my internet, the technicians literally made everything worst! My internet was slow but working when I called, after they helped me I had no internet! My main network was changed and all my devices were disconnected as well. I have to re-connected all my devices again, this was not even a problem before I called. Not just that, the technicians are not helpful, one of them literally told me that they ran out of things to do and that I have to pay 10 dollars to get some new connections? I told them no, that I need to speak to someone else and after speaking to 2 other people the last person was helpful and seemed to know what she was doing. This took 3 HOURS of my time today and they still were not able to finish helping me. STAY AWAY, even spectrum is better than this honestly! read more

Upon posting the negative review on here, AT&T reached out to me, discussed the incident, and corrected the record. They instructed the collection agency to cease and desist their funding of me and twice monthly negative reporting to the credit bureaus. It took a couple of weeks but everything is now corrected. I have had this internet for over 5 years. In June lost the internet due to their wiring 2 weeks later finally got service back. Now it has been 10 days. They can't tell me when I will get it back on. It's in the central office waiting for a ticket to be worked. I do my business from my home. My husband and I both previously had Spectrum internet in our respective apartments. When we moved to a house in the Austin area we began looking into Fiber networks available in our area. AT&T advertised Fiber connectivity for $60/mo. When I called to inquire the sales representative told me that indeed Fiber was available in our area and she could offer us 18 Mbps for $50/mo. I was shocked at such low speed but she assured me that anything higher than 20 Mbps on a Fiber network was typically used for businesses or much larger households. Since I knew next to nothing about Fiber connectivity I trusted her recommendation. After having the service for a week I can tell you definitively that 18 Mbps is not sufficient for anyone. Our streaming was significantly slow and poor quality. Uploading or downloading files took forever. Internet pages and messaging was unbelievably slow. I called Spectrum and they were able to offer us 200 Mbps for $45/mo in our area. I immediately called AT&T to cancel the service. Although I understand that Fiber is still limited in certain areas and AT&T would have never been able to offer us the speed we needed, I feel as though I was deliberately mislead by the sales representative. Transparency is an invaluable quality in a company. I am so disappointed in AT&T customer relations that they feel the need to lie to customers in order to obtain their business. We will NEVER be using AT&T for internet services again and after this experience I am debating future use of their wireless services as well. Also must note that upon calling to cancel the gentleman in "customer loyalty" who was handling the account assured me that the service would not be shut of until Saturday. I even asked if two services could be run simultaneously in the same household since we were switching to Spectrum on Thursday and he assured me there would be no lapse in service. Well, the internet was shut off today (Monday) and we won't have internet until Thursday. Really disappointing AT&T. read more

I am reluctant to give ATT such a bad rating because I get good phone service and the customer service on the phone is usually good. My complaint is with the Cedar Park location at 1335 Whitestone Blvd. and particularly with the manager Mina Monir. He was rude, arrogant and unresponsive to my complaint. I bought an iPhone screen protector. The agent said I could get replacements for a year at a price of $48.21. The sales agent neglected to tell me that each replacement would cost $8.66. I asked for a refund bc the original sale had not been clearly explained ( they must have sales quotas to meet). Mr Monir loudly repeated the policy and refused to hear that it had been initially misrepresented. He spoke over me and raised his voice so I couldn't be heard in a bullish way. Basically it's a scam bc you can get protectors elsewhere for much less. They are not a quality product either. They call it a warranty but when you have to rebuy it each time after paying $48 up front , it is hardly a warranty. Don't trust Att customer service at Cedar Park. They will screw you. read more

..... Update 5/25/2022: My fiber service stopped and was back up in less 24 hrs, plus I upgraded from 100mbps to 500 while I waited. My monthly bill dropped from $75 to $70 and my YELP rating here rose from 3 stars to 5. Details: The outage started on a Mon evening and 5am Tues I set up a service call for 12-4pm the next day. Kenneth and Alex arrived at 4 and restored service by 10pm. They were pleasant, diligent, and willing to explain everything (5 star service). Turns out they had to run over 500' of new fiber from the neighborhood hub across 7 poles to my closest utility pole, then to my exterior wall fiber box (this thing seems to have no name beyond "fiber entry point to the house"-wtf). Neither that box, nor the interior wall box (aka ONT), nor the free-standing black box (modem or Wi-Fi Gateway) had to be replaced. They had to schlep by hand a big-a$$ pole ladder through overgrown brush a block away from their van, so extra credit. I'm their only customer on this 7-pole fiber line, and it's had to be replaced twice in 5 years mostly due to damage by the elements. read more

I made an appt on 1/2 to have my fiber installed and the tech had to leave because the fiber had not been laid for him to connect it to my house. I have called multiple times asking when it will be laid so I can have it installed and no one can give me a straight answer. I work from home so I can't work without internet. They are the exclusive provider to my new residence so they know they don't have to worry about me finding someone else, but if you have a choice, choose someone else because they do not care. The absolute worst. They came on my property, dug up my Spectrum line, didn't rebury it and severed the control wire for my irrigation system. I'm not done accessing the damage, unfortunately. I have been mocked and lied to by a buried lines representative on Wednesday. At the end of the call I was told a manager in Austin, TX would be contacting me within 48 hours. 48 hours pass and guess what, no contact. I verified that no record existed so a manager will not contact me. I was then given further run around contacts I could make to waste even more of my time. I would like to start by saying that I have had AT&T service for about 19 years. Their customer service has always been severely lacking and I am DONE... this post is a LONG rant. If you do not want to feel sympathy-pains, please stop here. April 19, my cell phone stopped working: no internet, no calling (even AT&T). My phone was "blocked from the network". I called AT&T on my Justin's phone. Spent 2 hours on the phone getting it "resolved". There was an insurance claim on my phone. Since I did not even HAVE insurance, they determined that the insurance company typed the phone number in wrong on another claim. Insurance company was closed. AT&T unblocked my phone and put in a request to reverse the claim. I would be contacted the next day. April 20, never heard a word from insurance. My phone was blocked AGAIN. Went into the store. They unblock my phone again and say it "may" shut off again before the insurance claim is reversed. We decide to get new phones and join plans to save money... Justin and I each owed less than $100 on our installment plans. We paid them both off, so we could "own" our phones. Sell his phone back. Use the "credit" to pay off his last bill. Go to sell mine, they cannot buy it back because it's been blocked AGAIN (they offered to buy it for nearly $400). Once insurance claim is reversed, you can come back in and sell it. After 2.5 hours, we both walk out with new iPhone X and combined plan. Nothing of original issue was ever resolved. April 27, still no word from insurance reversal. Go into store. They 'do their research". At this point, the cell phone has now been reported as "lost or stolen" and is blacklisted from the network. Great... that's one very expensive paperweight. First bill - y'all. It was more than my Jeep payment!! Justin's installment discount was not applied and there were double charges all over the place that were not discussed upon agreement. Call AT&T. Another hour-long convo to be told "it'll all clear up on your next bill..." Second bill - Still not lower. We were told it would be $350 for ALL services. This was just shy of $500. June 1, call AT&T to discuss bill (AGAIN). They explain that our two-year price guarantee expired. I was aware at the beginning of April that it would expire May 17th, so I had enrolled in another promotions (for the same discount) when I was in the store on April 20th. They say "sorry ma'am, I'm not seeing any promotions". After 1 hour and 40 minutes I cancel my cable. Keep 2 cell phones and internet. June 11, we get a "past due" bill for my fiance's old account. Remember - we used the credit from selling his phone back to cover the final bill on this account. Call AT&T again. Transferred about three times and having to explain EVERY time. I end up in the "retention" department. Sweet... this seems like where I need to be. Over 2 hours later, I'm told I need to go back into the store because "they" are the ones that did not apply the credit correctly. THEY? Aren't "they" AT&T, just like you??! Apparently not because, at that point, this lady turned into the "cancellation" department. WTF??! I thought you were the "retention" department?!? "Ma'am we are the same department" *Mind. Blown* So, here we are. Two months later. Countless hours of customer "service". Outrageous bills. Cancelled cable. "No notes" on our account outlining any of it. And now WE are supposed to go back to the store to settle it. The only reason I'm going into another store is to cancel every. Fucking. Service. Thanks for nothing AT&T. In the aftermath of an ice storm in Austin, my electricity returned but AT&T never restored my internet service. 5 days after power was restored the only message I get from AT&T is "local outage", and you'll receive a text when it's fixed. No text yet! I'll be contacting another ISP tomorrow and find one who's capable of providing reliable internet when that is an essential service. I have been ATT U-verse customer for a long time. Overall, I just been very disappointed. Whenever, I call to adjust my TV service, my bill never reflects what they promised. Don't get the AT&T/Direct TV bundle. It's a scam. This is the first negative review I feel called to write, I am both an electrical engineer and a media producer. I was deceived. This is a toxic company. Do not do business with them. I signed up with AT&T internet (Uverse) and Direct TV Bundle because they sold me on the fact that if I got the bundle, I would have unlimited data. Being an avid phone user, I thought that was great! Even though I don't watch TV, I thought $89.00 for unlimited internet and phone data would be amazing. They MEANT data on the internet, like, your computer. NOT your phone. Even though I have an AT&T phone, and asked (Oh, this will get me unlimited phone data?) So, I signed a 1 year contract with AT&T. Early termination fee is over $300. It started with discovering that, in fact, my phone did not get unlimited data. They would actually charge you if you went over a gigabyte limit ON YOUR COMPUTER unless you had "unlimited data". Ok, that sucked, now paying more for DirectTV, which I don't want or care about, in order to not get charged for uploading and downloading a bunch of videos and media. Unlimited phone data is an option ONLY if you have the direct TV bundle with internet, but it's an extra $60.00/month. No thank you. That was not made clear. After hours of phone calls, trying to cancel the service without the fee because I was mislead, being redirected to the Philippines, India, Mexico, being hung up on, someone finally found a way to get my phone to just become slower when I went over the 3GB limit. But essentially, unlimited data. At least that's something. Now, the combined billing. AT&T bought Direct TV. But they still act like 2 different companies. Their systems are not combined, and they do not play well together. They glitch constantly. Trying to log into direct tv redirects me to AT&T. AT&T can't see the Direct TV side, and Direct TV can't see AT&Ts side. They are basically still separate companies that pretend like they are one company in order to mislead you into buying bundles. If you ever have a technical issue, be rest assured that you will probably always have to talk to both sides, wait on hold twice, tell your story twice, and pay twice. This means you cannot see your Direct TV bill online. And it is a separate bill, with a separate account number, associated with Direct TV. What's worse, you don't think you owe anything. Until they send you a bill in the mail and tell you that are overdue, and owe late fees. Try to log in online to view and pay, and again, you get sent to AT&T, where direct TV charges do not show up. They said it would take 2 - 3 cycles before the bill was combined. 5 months later, it never happened. Today, I log onto AT&T to look at the bill, and notice my internet for my computer is no longer unlimited. What? I have done everything right. I call my husband to ask if he unbundled us. He says no. I call AT&T. They ask me "When did you decide to unbundle?" Never. I never did that. So, I say this is the last straw. If I can't have unlimited internet with you all, and your systems glitch in this way, I no longer trust your systems. I cancel. They try to hit me with an early termination fee. I have to talk to 3 people in three different countries before they assure me that they will suspend my account and my service until my contract expires, for $0./month. I just have to remember to call in December to terminate. This is similar to when they made me have to remember to cancel the HBO channels I did not need or want that they gave 3 months free, and then charge when you forget. I couldn't even cancel those channels early. I said, "Hey, I won't remember to call because LIFE. Can I just cancel now? They say NO, you have to wait 90 days, and cancel on day 91, else you will be charged $50 for those channels. WOW. So I did cancel them, but I think I was a few days late. Now, AT&T says "even though we don't see direct TV on your account because you were unbundled for a mysterious reason, you should call make make sure they are no longer giving you service." Ok, so now I call Direct TV. They tell me that they don't know why it was unbundled, and that they were never given the opportunity to fix the problem before I canceled with AT&T, therefore their "agreement" with me was still valid for a year, subject to a $360 early termination fee. What? Send the contract, I don't remember signing a contract with Direct TV, only AT&T who OWNS Direct TV. She sends me an invoice for the services installed. No signature. It says terms and conditions. I tell her this is not a contract, and she says by allowing us to install you agree to our terms. Also, they had no record of me setting up combined billing, at all, which I definitely did. And confirmed. Twice. In the end, the Direct TV lady lowered the fee to $150. Plus remaining bill that I couldn't view. I took it, grudgingly. read more

Ok Yelp. I just left a review, signed in, and now it's gone. 1 star. As far as U-verse goes, my debit card was used fraudulently so I requested a new one from my bank and in the meantime, auto-pay for my U-verse account hit and was rejected. As soon as I got my new card, I updated my account and assumed (stupidly obviously) that my payment would be drafted. Wrong. My account was suspended and now I have been hit with late fees and reinstatement fees. Called and spoke to two "customer service" agents who arrogantly lectured me on their auto-pay policies and that even though the website does not say that you have to make an additional payment, you do and they don't draft again until the next due date. This is just 12 days after the first attempt of theirs to draft the account and they turned off service. My bill isn't small, so I didn't want to run the risk of them doubling my payment. So, congratulations U-verse. My contract is up July 18th and Spectrum will gain a new customer. read more

I have been waiting for ATT fiber to get installed for 3 plus weeks thus far and called at least twice a day since then, still nothing. They have been "escalating" my case with their contractors and I have heard nothing from the contractor after 3 whole weeks. I am not sure if this is an ATT issue or just an Austin area contractor issue but the entire situation has been extremely unpleasant and has made it literally impossible to work from home. Two sales ladies came to my door offering services. They quoted me a price that was lower then I am currently paying. We discussed hardware and if I could utilize my current modem/router. I was assured ATT would provide the required hardware at no additional cost. I agreed to proceed with the order. We set up the delivery date and time before they left. Because I was only ordering Internet I was told there would be no credit check. I received results of a credit check that was done with the wrong spelling of my name in the mail that indicates there may be additional costs. After reviewing the paperwork I had it said I would be receiving a confirmation email within 24 hours. I never received an email perhaps because of the misspelled name or the fact that they didn't enter my email address on the order. So I made a call to the number on the paper. After a 5 minute hold I was able to check status of the installation. The time was not the same as we had agreed to. I worked my way thru the phone tree to a specialist (all of the people I worked with were professional and pleasant) who went over the order with me. We discovered the price was now higher then I am currently paying, my name got correctly spelled and email added and the tech had already been dispatched to my house, 4 hours prior to the agreed time. In addition as we all know nothing is free and there would be a fee for the modem. At this point I asked to cancel everything. I was transfered to Customer Retention. Once again we discussed everything that was wrong and she was determined to ensure customer satisfaction. She agreed that she too would not have confidence in a service that had such a mess up front but could give me numbers to call for any new issues that may come up. My phone began to receive a call. Guess who, it was the tech saying he was here for the install. I finally was able to convince them I did not want the install due to all the red flags and cancelled the install.
