First of all we used to LOVE ATT till they fucked us over. They said to send in a Samsung phone to get the Samsung z flip. So we did. No discount was given( phone was supposed to be free sending in a older phone) fast forward a few months later and they are still charging us for the phone, said they didn't have on record of the phone we sent them, good thing I take pictures and still had a picture of the box and tracking number, so we call and ask and they said they got the phone but it was broken. We had taken pictures of the phone before putting it into the box they provided. Now they are refusing to give us the phone as they prpmised cause it was damaged inside the box we put it in. No call to let us know what happened so now we are paying for a phone that was supposed to be FREE. As soon as we pay off our phones, we are leaving ATT. Utility monopolies suck. Imagine if your water or electricity just stopped working randomly. That's AT&T but for Internet. Absolutely terrible Internet service. It is never up to the quoted speed. When I called to upgrade because my Internet signal kept dropping (and I live in a townhouse so signal strength shouldn't be an issue), they upgraded me to 100MBps. No fiber in my area. Unfortunately, they forgot to mention that my modem couldn't handle the speeds, so my internet went down, they sent a new modem that was defective, and then scheduled a repair technician to come out with a 4 hour time window. I work from home so all this translates to an inability to do my healthcare job, hundreds if not thousands of dollars of lost revenue, all because of faulty Internet. Edit: My Internet got fixed so that's not terrible. It's still not clear to me why it was down, but it seems like an error on AT&T's part since the fix was outside the house. AT&T is horrible. Can't even watch a preview. they keep raising my rates and i have to threaten to stop my service to get them to keep their agreement. Every time they raise my rate, they lie and tell me that they will honor my agreement and then I get a bill that says they are raising my rate again. Very sneaky and dishonest! AT&T wrongfully turned off our internet a week ago. We scheduled a technician to come out, but it the appointment was cancelled without our consent. After we waited during the entire 4 hour window and no one showed up, we called and rescheduled. Our rescheduled appointment was supposed to be from 8-12 today. Again, no one showed up. Every person I talk to has a different story and says we need to do a different thing. There is no constancy. There is no way to get help. They do not hold their selves accountable for their mistakes. Use another provider, or you will regret it. This is just one of many terrible experiences I've experienced with AT&T. read more

I just spent 5 hours on the phone with AT&T trying to cancel a cellular line and 2 land lines. After being on hold for anywhere from 20-40 minutes, 3 different times, because I kept getting disconnected, I was finally able to speak with a human. This human could only help me with the cell number cancellation - which took 45 minutes! Deplorable would be a compliment. I was told I needed to speak with a different department to cancel the land lines. I was transferred and told the wait time was 10-13 minutes. 56 minutes later I heard a human voice. It took this person 3 hours and 16 minutes to cancel "2" accounts. Never, will I ever use AT&T for ANYTHING! This company has terrible service. A tech "set up my broadband today" but I went to plug in my modem and just as expected. No signal. Call the tech support, stayed on the phone for over an hour to find out that a tech has to come out again on Friday.... it's not like I have to work at all. Would not recommend. They do not have the staff to support installs. It took a month to get internet once it was installed due toa connection issue at the main terminal in my neighbors yard. Now it has been over a month and the cable has not been buried in the yard. I keep getting texts regarding service yet no one shows up. I will start with if you do business with these people, get emails of everything you were promised and screenshot all the transactions you can. After a "month" of having the service, I have only had two bright spots. And I will begin with those. First, was the technician James that did the installation. He did a fast neat job and everything worked as it was supposed to. He even took the time to correct an issue with the work order that was put in incorrectly. Before and after that it has been a battle. They had no issues putting me on the phone with a "manager" to get me a great deal of (free equipment, free installation, and 100 mb fiber for $50/mo) to get me to sign up. before the first installation, they called the day before and said they were cancelling it and needed to reschedule me. On the rescheduled day, they just plan didn't call or show up for the appointment and said that they did. I was offered another discount for their misses. Both times customer service was very rude and was suggesting that it was my fault. Then I get my first bill which should be $45, it was $171. The monthly was higher than the original price and there was an installation fee still on there. I called customer service 6 times to get this resolved and each time they said they would remove the installation charge, but no one ever even made an attempt to do so. And no one would help me with the monthly fee, when I asked to speak with a manager this time they wouldn't let me. Some said I would get a call back and never did. I finally had to go into a store to get my issues resolved after 3 weeks, 6 calls, and hours on the phone. Juan at the store in the Heights helped get me the issue resolved in 30 min (that was the other bright spot if you were wondering, or even read this far down lol). I have never had such a horrible initial experience with a company. Even Xfinity was better than this. read more

I would give them a negative number if I could. My father and sister use their internet and television service I never would change and glad I did not. My 76 year old father has used them for over 13 years. Well recently his fence had to be repaired. They had the cable buried near the old fence when it had to be dug up the cable was accidentally cut . When we called them to repair the cable they charged 99.00 dollars. That is crazy. I have Xfinity and over the years have had to have mine replaced. They never charged me. I spent half the day speaking to different people and they would not adjust my fathers bill. I have used various ATT services over the years. A month ago, I signed up for "high speed internet". I complained because I was used to 300 MBPS from another provider and it wasn't available in this location. The sales reps told me that ATT's 75 MBPS was just as fast because it was a dedicated line and that it wasn't shared with others so it was faster. After I committed, the service rep installed it and it only did about 20-25 MBPS, 3 times slower than they committed. I waited for 5 hours today for their rep to show up. ATT's service unfortunately has gotten worse over the years. I'm going to research to see if there are other providers in this area because ATT doesn't deliver the speed that they sell and charge for. ATT used to be the gold standard for technology. Like many of the others who have commented...beware of the price increase after year 1! I have had AT&T UVerse in 3 different states over 8 years and I always received an AMAZING promotional rate and then had to call back after the first year to lower the bill, but they always provided discount options that were not as great as the first year but still not too much of an increase. This time around they are trying to increase my bill by $70 a month and claim they have no discounts or promotions to offer (I called twice and spoke to their customer service retention department). They are not interested in retaining customers so you are better off taking the great year 1 rate and moving on to another company with a better offer after that. read more

It took six years ... but AT&T finally broke this camel's back. The last straw involved three tech visits in three days, totaling seven hours. To summarize what I endured since 2009 (and it's only the Cliff Notes version) ... 1. Ten (count 'em, 10) modems ... turns out that only four were bad (as if that weren't enough); the other six were changed because the techs couldn't figure out what was actually wrong. Of course, we had to reset the password on all our devices (4 TV's, 3 computers, 2 tablets, 2 phones, the network printer, and even the thermostat) each time. 2. Four DVR's ... all were defective. We lost hundreds of recordings. 3. Three years of continual freezing and pixelating. After visits by numerous techs (one of whom managed to disable all functions for three days), it was finally determined that the original installer failed to change out the main co-ax cable, which was nicked. This five-minute solution took that long to discover. We should have bailed out then! 4. Breakdown of other equipment ... all of our set-top boxes were replaced at least twice, and two remotes stopped working. 5. The beginning of the end ... One TV kept losing its signal. When rebooted, it functioned for a while ... anywhere from a couple of hours to a day. Three different techs diagnosed three different causes, none of which solved the problem. It took a fourth visit, and a supervisor, to fix the issue ... plug the power cord into a different outlet. Unbelievable! 6. What finally did it ... Our brand new 65" Smart TV wouldn't pick up the signal, even though it was a simple HDMI connection. The first tech spent approximately four hours tracking down the problem, only to have the other three TV's stop working. After another hour, all was fine. The following morning, the big new TV crapped out again ... another tech visit, which revealed that the DVR (installed the previous day) was bad. With a new box, we were good to go. Next morning ... nothing! Here comes yet another tech ... diagnosis: defective power cord. OK ... we're up and running, but only after countless hours babysitting these guys. That clinched it ... we were done! Enough was enough. We figured that we must have had at least fifty service calls over the six years, and could no longer waste our time, hoping that all the issues would be resolved, and that we'd never see an AT&T technician again. Paying over $200/month for inferior service didn't sit well with us either. Sure, our account was credited here and there, but we would rather have had that reliable service that AT&T touts in its ads. In all the time we were with them, they never came close. When we originally considered cable, we conjectured that it likely wasn't any better ... we've since concluded that it couldn't be any worse. DirecTV was out of the question, since it's now a part of the AT&T conglomerate. When I called to cancel U-Verse, the "retention specialist" looked at our service history ... first response: "Oh my." She conceded that we've had "excessive" issues. I asked her, "If you were me, would you keep you?" To her credit, she replied, "No," and even waived the $99 early termination fee. Our new Xfinity service was installed promptly, neatly and efficiently, and we've been pleased with the results. I couldn't wait to get the AT&T equipment to the nearest UPS store. We now have closure ... and everything's working just fine. read more

If I could give AT and T a -1 score I would. The call center staff that I spoke with are unaware of the company policy and the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing . After calling to make payment arrangements on one bill, I later found out that contrary to what the rep told me I couldn't make arrangements because the payment came out already. The representative did either not care or not understand what he was reading because I told him that I had arrangements set up. I called back a second time and spoke with someone else who assured me that it was their fault and they would cover it. I called back to get it covered and was told that the payment was set to come out. I understand that, but what is not ok is that there are such gross inconsistencies in whomever I spoke with. Absolutely terrible service. They rip you off, don't do it. I was initially offered a deal for 99 dollars for cable + internet. We even explained that after taxes it would roughly be 120 something dollars because their were no taxes on the cable. The next month, I wasn't informed about a 249 dollar fee that snuck up on me. I called and spoke to an outsource department, they told me that their was nothing that they could do about it but told me after the month is over that the payment would drop down to the 120 something dollar payment. The next month, the payment bumped up to 143 dollars. Now I'm on the phone explaining to them nicely that I was misinformed and ripped off but everyone is pretending like they don't know. I am not sure what is going on with their inverse internet service, but it seems like they are purposely making it to where it goes out for no reason. Now I have been a customer for years. It was probably three years before I started having issues. Once the technician came and replaced my box (and not telling me that it would be $7/month), seems like I've been cursed ever since. My internet literally goes out every month. Since April or May, I'm on my third box. The one the technician installed went out three weeks later. I had to get a new one shipped to me and that one did last either. Now I'm on my third box. I am currently writing this review because my internet went out AGAIN yesterday and is still not working. I dread calling them because it takes forever to get the problem resolved. I'm sure they will be shipping me another box. So basically, in 2016, this company can not tell me they have tampered with their services. It doesn't make any sense. How can I go three years with no interruptions, then BOOM, all of a sudden I'm having problems literally every single month?! And I was forced to do a bundle for the so called cheaper rate. This company really does suck, they have become the low class and low quality company for me. I got rid of my cell phone service years ago due to the same issues. One Monday morning of second week Mar., I called to order Internet for my home. Just like a thunder, the lady picked up the phone right away and after about 45 min the deal is made. The deal was $37.99 no installation fee, no equipment rent/month. The tech will come on Tues. Fine. After the tech has done the job, I asked to change user ID and password the way i want, she has done , good. 5 days later, the pre-bill came with about $65.19. Wow that just kicked me down. They double billed me every month for the first 6 months... And the following months weren't much better. If I didn't call about the issue "x" amount of days prior to due date (this x number changed each phone call), I was forced to pay the bill and promised a credit for the following month. They were good about giving the credit about half the time, but the amount was usually off. Customer service phone calls usually took about an of my day.... They are a completely disorganized, dishonest company. They raise your fees and make changes to your service without notifying you, they promise a certain rate over the phone, then on your first bill the amount is usually at least twice as much as what they promised, they charged me a cancellation fee for transferring my service to my new location, and then they continued to charge me for service to my old location! How can you charge a cancellation fee, and forget to discontinue the old service!? They are terrible, I hope the company ceases to exist. read more

Normally I don't write reviews, and if I do I've at least given the product a chance, but apparently an 8 - 12 window to get your internet hooked up means that you're still waiting at 4:15, not knowing when or IF anyone is going to show up and all AT&T can tell you is that "there is a technician already dispatched to you, you should be receiving a call from them shortly". Worst internet service ever. I pay for 18mbps and get 3 on a bad day. 5 on a good day. And 10 on a great day (which is rare). Add in that I can't even connect more than one device & have it load properly. Why do I even pay for this service? I called ATT to have them move my modem from one room to another in order to hardline into the modem with certain devices thus allowing a better maintained connection. My 87 year old mother's ATT internet, phone, and cable is out AGAIN! She arranged to have uverse service on November 2. She has had a cumulative 1 week of service since then. They come out for installation, but cannot get into the the yards to lay the line because of dogs...and expect her to arrange with people she doesn't know to arrange access. The third time she stayed home all day to meet the installer. they hooked it up. BUT they didn't arrange to bury the cable, so dogs chewed through it in no time. No service again. Another series of service calls to 'diagnose' the problem, arrange access, replace the lines. STILL didn't bury them, do she called repeatedly to ask for that to happen. Even had a service call to verify 'that this is our ATT line unburied.' STILL never buried it.... so service is out again. Another useless service call yesterday to 'diagnose' that it is a line problem and not in her house...and when she and my sis went by to request the folks with dogs and locked gate allow access for the technician tomorrow....my sis was bitten by one of the dogs. And ATT says they cannot come until tomorrow at the earliest. read more

I made an appointment for June 8th. I took time off from work to ensure I was home when a technician arrived during my scheduled time. I called twice when they missed my schedule time and was ensured someone who would arrive at the end of the day. I called to follow up and they told me someone would show June 14th! Why would any customer stick with a company who offers no services for over two weeks? They just string you along to keep your money. They have terrible customer service!
