This SmartPhone Medic location got recommended to me so I went in for a quote. A price of $350 was given to me as the price of part and labor. I figured I would go with it. I dropped off the laptop and they told me it would be about a week. After a week, I got a call, picked up the computer and everything seems good so far. If the part ends up not working, I will definitely make an update but hopefully that does not happen.

He said that if I wouldn't provide my number I would not be waited on and turned and walked away. He told my husband they would get the trades processed. 6 iPhones have disappeared and they refuse to give us our credits. I thought at first it was an honest mistake and they were just misplaced in the back. When we first noticed we didn't have our credits we were told to give it 3 billing cycles. After 3 billing cycles and still not seeing the credit we were told to email a list of the devices we traded to Robert. We did this and still didn't see our credits. Then Robert said they had to look at security footage, then told us it wouldn't go that far back; so they'd have to go through loss prevention. This all started back in November of 2020. AT&T reached out to the store. All the store has to do is something called a "benefit of the doubt" and AT&T will honor our credits. Robert wouldn't even do that. He told AT&T he could neither confirm nor deny our devices were brought to the store. I asked to speak to the owner to which Robert told me he could get his DM Amanda Carlson to call me. That was 8/18/21 and I haven't received a call yet.

A few days later, my admin password stopped working and unfortunately FileVault was on! I stood to lose 4 years worth of files. I spent a long time with Apple support on the phone, online. Both times, their final recommendation was to just wipe out everything and start over. Fortunately, Experimax was able to rescue me. I had a password for the hard drive itself and Eric was able to boot the computer using another device, which allowed me to get access to the hard drive. He patiently let me hang out at the store uploading files into iCloud. Afterwards, I had the hard drive wiped out and installed Catalina. The cost was ~$87. Many thanks!
