So the worst thing imaginable happened Saturday night, my phone died. I mean like wouldn't hold a charge past 60% died. I realized my battery health was at 50% so as much as I was reluctant to go buy a new phone, I knew it was time. It was time to lay my iPhone XR to rest. I realized this information around like 7PM and was in Maryland visiting a friend so I found the closest AT&T (Ritchie Station) which closed at 8PM. I arrived around 7:30 and pretty much knew my options. Go with an insurance claim or get a new phone. The service was terrible so I left and decided to go home and order online. I get online look at my options as i was ordering it asked me if I wanted to pick up in store near me, it was open until 9PM. It was 8:12PM I rushed over and got to this store with 15 minutes to spare. As I used to work in retail, i quickly apologized for coming right before close. I had the best customer service! I really appreciate Rick who was working that evening. Not only did he not rush me, but he went out of his way to explain several different options I had not considered. I walked out of there happy and with as new phone. Neither employee seemed upset I was there late, unlike Ritchie Station location. Thank you! read more

This used to be a solid AT&T Corporate store but my last couple of experiences have been lackluster. Between having zero phones on display, even the most basic transaction taking at least 30-45 mins even when the store is empty and fraudulently adding their "insurance" product to my bill without my knowledge or consent I'm probably going to stop using AT&T altogether. I moved all my cell lines to T-Mobile last year and it's been fantastic but I kept my tablets on AT&T so I had guaranteed signal (a two carrier approach is good for travelers). Seriously tho, if you need to go to this store (if they have inventory which is generally spotty) you absolutely have to check your account immediately afterward as they will enroll any device on your account in their insurance plan (even if you return a device). This isn't the only AT&T store that's done this over the years, but it's the last. read more

I had the best experience with Shemara this evening. I dropped my phone in water and needed an update anyways so I went in after work at 8:35pm. I was afraid I'd be turned away coming so late to closing but Shemara helped me the whole way through. Even stayed 25 min after closing to make sure my new phone was up and running. Lets start off by saying I was hung up on 3 times by a female which prompted me to have to drive to the store physically. I was placed on hold by a male and never picked up the phone again. Upon arrival wasn't greeted by any one. As all 3 associates looked me directly in my face and continued in conversations. I then walked around and stood at the front of the store for another 10 minutes while an associate finished his upgrade conversation and finally asked me if he could check in. I explained I was the customer who had just called and he rushed through convo I have never been to such an unprofessional at&t store where associates hang up the phone consecutively then don't answer and then pay absolutely no regard to a customers presence to check in or be helped. The staff members need adequate customer service training and more staff. Don't come here. Not worth the time. Missed out on a corporate referral for service for 30 employees with AT&T. Gladly heading to another location as we speak. read more

Went to the store to purchase an iPhone, however I'm unable to make a decision on which one because their display models were stolen? That's horrible business practices, either have them secured like other retailers or use dummy phones for display purposes. The time spent to stop in the store was a waste of time. read more

Amazing experience at this store! I made an appointment and was greeted immediately upon arrival. I wanted to upgrade my iPhone and knew exactly which model I wanted. I was in the store for 50 minutes and walked out with my new phone fully set up. The store manager, Wasif, was incredibly helpful to me and signed in every guest who entered the store almost immediately. I ordered a new iPhone through the AT&T mobile app to be picked up in this store. Prior to driving to the location to pick it up, I jumped on google to get the phone number to call and ensure it was ready to be picked up. The reviews were so low that I just prepared myself for what would be a complete shit show. To my surprise when I walked in, I was immediately greeted and my name was taken and added to the list. Danielle was able to come over and assist me in less than 5 minutes and helped set up my new phone. She was respectful of my limited amount of time and offered to continue setting up the phone while I ran to the grocery store in the same shopping center (the setup didn't take long so I declined the offer). There was no pressure to get something I didn't want or order... and I had paid the taxes through the app so as soon as she set the phone up she sent me on my way to the store and back to work. read more

Very unwelcoming and pretty rude. I would put the name of the person who assisted us but he was not wearing a name tag. This store basically doesn't do anything and is rude about the lack of help they offer. The only reason that they got any stars is that it is so empty we got our rude service immediately. read more

This AT&T store is fantastic, so long as what you're looking for is to be ignored for a while, then reluctantly acknowledged, given incorrect information, be made to call AT&T's customer service just to have the representative on the phone ask to speak with the store manager so he or she can be told off for being incompetent, and THEN (over an hour later) finally get what you came for. However, if you go to this store expecting courteous, competent, or efficient service, you are screwed. This store has THE WORST customer service of ANY store I've ever been to, AT&T or otherwise. read more

She helped me upgrade my phone, changed my plan and made sure I was getting all the discounts I was qualified for. My phone was delivered by AT&T Right to You and that was excellent as well. I just tried to help my father upgrade to an iPhone 5. After being informed by the sales staff that today was the last day of a sale, he found that it actually ended yesterday. The manager refused to honor his employees commitment and told us to go away. I will never come back here and am probably going to cancel my contract when I renew in a few weeks. read more

After this huge fiasco this past week regarding my AT&T service and phone, this location provided me with the best customer service and employees that actually know their shit. I was assigned a new number upon a new contract. The past owner of the number I was assigned apparently owns some serious money to collection agencies, since I was literally getting 10 calls a day. Phone support, Kingstowne location, and two D.C. locations wanted to charge me 37 dollars to change my number citing that even if I did my change my number, it possibly couldn't change anything. Several harassing calls a day from a collection agency that isn't looking for me? Couldn't be worse. The employee who helped me got on it, told me how to get it done for free, and then proceeded to change my number right then and there. Thank God. He then proceeded to answer the questions I had when three other retail locations and phone support had no idea what the answers were. AT&T customer service generally blows though. If you buy your phone online, you'll be basically treated like a second class citizen if you try to get support through a retail center. But kudos to this location, looks like I'll have to be driving out of my way from D.C. to Potomac Yard just to get my phone serviced. Ergh. read more

Came here yesterday on a whim to see if there were any of the new iphone 5s left. I was lucky enough that they had the 32g white which is exactly what I wanted. Tylson was super helpful, he answered all of my questions, put the screen protector and case on my new iphone and best of all he had me out of there within 10 minutes. The salesmen were nice but tried to be sneaky about costs. I was interested in an iPhone X upgrade and asked to be provided all the additional costs I would have to pay today. The first guy insisted it would only be the trade-in amount listed on myAT&T app($124.99) and the difference between the installment, which was only $8. I calculated the costs and it was reasonable. I asked again just to make sure, and he said that was it. As I am about to select confirm in the purchase, the sales guy casually mentioned a $60 additional charge for taxes for today. I was like "wait, what?!!" I get that there are taxes but I don't like how that was not mentioned during any of the initial conversations. It makes me feel like you were just trying to make a sale rather than keep a customer. I've been an AT&T customer my entire life but it's stuff like this that makes me seek other providers. A sixty dollar tax charge, being that it's almost 50% more than the original amount I was prepared to put down, was too big of a difference to keep under wraps for me. I decided not to upgrade with AT&T today. Please be transparent with customers. I would have greatly appreciated it. read more

I have been going to the AT&T store at Potomac Yard for 10 years -- basically because it's near my house. It is typically crowded and confusing. I dread going there. Today I had to go in quickly because I lost the home charger to the cell phone that I bought less than a year ago. I was told by the sales associate that they no longer carried the phone and I was out of luck (when I bought the phone the sales associate totally sold me on the phone and how great it was -- it's pretty horrible). He did offer to check the storage room -- but no charger. I asked him for a suggestion he simply shrugged his shoulders and said I could buy a new phone. When I said I didn't need a new phone he motioned me and said -- try best buy. which I did. The women at best buy were VERY helpful and I was able to buy a universal charger. lesson learned. AT&T is about sales -- not assistance. read more

Got an iPhone with upgraded AT&T plan, took awhile due to tech stuff that was no one's fault but the service personnel were very patient and knowledgable. Stick to Best Buy!! read more

This place is sub par at best. The staff is a bunch of 20 yr old something guys that just mill about the store and chit chat with each other and whatever buddy decides to drop by for a visit. They prefer to play with their cell phone or PDA and don't pay much attention to the average customer looking at different phone models. The phone models are either broken or don't have every feature enabled, which is what I have come to expect from phones at a cell phone store but then again its just another reason to avoid this place even if you just want to play with a phone to try it out and not have to talk to anyone. Finally after walking back and forth for 10 minutes one of the oh so attentitve employees asked me hey man you got any questions? I then asked if they had any brand deals at the moment such as 100 bucks off all samsung phones or something, and he just bluntly said oh nope. Then was like oh uh yeah we do ur uh have deals but what you see on each price tag is what the current deal is for each phone. At this point he is looking around not making eye contact or showing me any kind of body language that says I want to sell you a new cell phone. So I say thanks and leave. Several months prior my girlfriend went to the same store to get an iphone or find out what to do about getting one (this is after the initial rush for them had subsided ie the stock in stores was enough to handle demand) and the guy just bluntly said oh there is no way you can get an iphone with your current plan, phone number and in general. my girlfriend then said well im not attached to my current plan and would be willing to change and its been 2-3 months since the new iphones came out you dont have any in stock? the moron could have just said i am not sure if you can get one on your current plan but you should probably go to the apple store since we here this AT&T store dont know anything about phones and customer service. she then went over to the apple store that same day and before 3pm she was home with her new iphone. read more

This AT&T is awfully empty. The husband and I came here to check out the new Moto X, as our service deathtrap I mean contract with Sprint is thankfully coming to a close, and we're not sure if we want to get the new iphones or not. At almost any cell phone store (or at least the many I've been to up and down the east coast in my day) upon walking in there are cell phones lining the walls on either side of the store, or the phones are in the center of the store in rows. Not the case here! We walked in, and were curiously wondering, "where the heck are the phones?!?!" They have a *very small* selection of phones in the back of the small store. Er, okay. In the center of the store are small hightops for the customer and associate to sit at. I'm sure it's meant to be intimate, but I think they should just ditch those 6-7 phones, start serving up some lattes, and putt out the lattes bestseller and discuss. It would make way more sense than trying to call this a respectable mobile store! 2.5 stars, but rounded up for the prompt greeting and offer to assist. read more

Super long waits because it takes 3-4 associates to help one customer (yeah right).
