The worst phone buying experience of my life. We bought not one but two phones here. The headphones that we bought do not work for telephone calls. When I tried to return them, I was told that because it was 17 days after purchase and the warranty is only for 14 days they would not exchange them. I literally just spent thousands of dollars on phones. This is the first time I ever went anywhere other than the Apple Store and I will never do it again and I would never go to the store again to buy anything and you shouldn't either. read more

I've been an AT&T mobile customer for 17 years, and I'm now leaving in part because of how terrible the service was at this location. Guy sitting at the desk at the back of the room did not even disconnect from the call he was on to speak with me, and I was the only customer there. I had a pretty basic question, and he could not hide his irritation at having to speak to me. I went into the store because my iPhone 8 home button malfunctioned. I found out that Ari, the previous owner, is no longer there. The person I spoke to tried to get me to change my data plan to unlimited. He stated that I'd save $25 per month and I can get an iPhone 11 and only pay $10 by trading in my iPhone 8. I stated that I just wanted my iPhone 8 and didn't want to make any changes. As I was leaving, I noticed that the other worker in the store was there without a mask on. I left and the next day I checked my data to find that the employee had gone ahead and changed our data plan against my wishes. It was actually $15 more per month than the plan that we had. AT&T support reinstated our old plan. They stated that the store employee had changed the plan as we would be unable to purchase a new phone with our old data plan. So the unethical employee did the following: 1) Unauthorized change of my plan 2) Never told me that my insurance plan was still active and I was able to get a replacement iPhone 8 (which I ended up doing). 3) Did not help me to set up the broken home button work around by using the Assistive Touch feature 4) Was only interested in selling me a new phone. I'll never go into this store again. The employee carelessly not wearing a mask is the icing on the cake. Do not use this business. read more

Do not come here. I came to this store to pre-order the new iPhone. I spent one hour here. The man who helped me gave me the wrong information and messed up my AT&T account that I spend three hours on the phone with AT&T trying to fix. First, he told me I would get (not possibly get, would) a $700 trade in value for my iPhone X. He read it in his system. If you call AT&T they told me stores are giving customers the wrong info about trade in costs. My phone is valued at $350 for trade in. I gave him the delivery address five times and he submitted the wrong delivery address. AT&T confirmed it on the phone. I did not ask for my plan to be changed. Somehow they changed my plan. AT&T could not fix my plan over the phone. They had to call the store directly to try to fix the mistake and it couldn't be done. I have to wait five days for their system to update. I had to cancel the preorder for the phone and put a claim in with AT&T to fix my account. I have to wait five days now to fix my account and reorder the iPhone 14. I am a teacher and some how the store removed my teacher discount so now I have to reapply for it again. I spent about four hours so far dealing with this mess. This is ridiculous. Call the company directly for help. The representative on the phone said it's best not to go to the stores. They also said when you trade in your phone mail it in directly. Going to a telecom store is usually a trial. Waits, unhelpful customer service, upselling... Malik at this store has completely changed my perception of what customer service can be. He helped me problem-solve something I need done involving international service and getting a SIM card to someone overseas. He was pleasant, creative, thoughtful. It's worth mentioning that an AT&T dealer up the street at 242 7th Ave. tried to scam me with a "one-time, $50 activation fee - cash only" on a pre-paid sim card purchase. I ventured up the street and found Ari's storefront. I mentioned this $50 fee to Ari who was taken aback and agreed it was clearly an employee looking to scam me and pocket the cash. I've gotten two phones from here and the guy who runs this shop is incredibly knowledgeable, easy to ask questions with, and no pressure. I upgraded from a simple RAZR years ago to a early gen smartphone, not an iPhone, and he set it up and answered a bunch of questions I had about the features. I just bought a Lumia 900 here and he did the same thing, answered questions when I stopped in to browse, and when I wanted to buy it, he set it up and didn't waste my time with sales stuff. Basically, excellent customer service. This is an AT&T store, near the intersection of 7th Ave. and Union Street. I highly recommend using this place as your in-store dealer. read more

I went into the store to upgrade my iphone 8 to a 13 mini. I got great customer service and assistance. They even give me an orientation on how to use the new phone and answered all of my questions. Really nice to be able to do this in my own neighborhood as opposed to on-line. I traded in my old phone to get a rebate. Will I go back again? Sure. read more

Ari is really the best. If it weren't for him, I would have switched to T-mobile when their new plans came out. But customer service wins hands down. AT&T should know the only reason we stick with them is because of Ari. I would say 5 stars, but often, the shop is so crowded with his devoted followers, that you have to spend quite a bit of time there just waiting your turn. Went there yesterday because my iPhone is not connecting to the AT&T network. They couldn't fix it, but the guy there was very helpful in trying a number of things. I appreciated that he was willing to acknowledge me while another customer was waiting on a phone. He did the same with a third customer while my phone was rebooting. So, although he couldn't fix it, I was treated well while I was there and that is worth a lot to me. read more

I wouldn't recommend visiting this store during the World Cup. I needed to add my daughter to my plan and the owner had one eye on the tv during the entire time. He went through the transactions quickly and gave me a new total. When I got my first bill the total was much higher than what he said and he told me that I would still get my city discount which was incorrect. The manager? (Ari) is very nice and personable but I was disappointed with my overall experience. I regret that I didn't simply purchase online, instead. I went to this shop to get a newly released Samsung phone, but they didn't have it in stock. Ari offered to order it for me, just as if I was to purchase online. I thought, OK, why not, since I'm here, right? He promised "express delivery" to arrive on the following Monday. When I looked at the UPS tracking information, it was listed as "Economy ground" or something like that, to arrive on Wed. I was a bit annoyed since either 1. he didn't know what he was capable of delivering or 2. he flat out lied to me to get the sale. Either way, it is disappointing. When the phone arrived, Ari had also mistakenly assigned it to the wrong number in my family plan. So I had to go to another ATT store to get it fixed. That meant going again and waiting in line to get it done. I guess these mistakes happen, but I could have avoided headahces and I would have gotten my phone much faster if I had just ordered online. read more

We had a terrible experience with the AT&T store at 6th Ave and 54th St in Manhattan. We called ahead to make sure they had the phones we wanted since we were coming from Brooklyn. My husband spoke to the mgr. Alex. When we arrived Alex turned us over to an employee named Omagate. He was nice but told us that Alex said we wanted the installment plan called Next. We told him that we wanted to stay on our current plan. He started trying to sell us on why we wanted this new plan. We were firm about staying with our plan so he said ok I need some numbers for that and went in the back. When he came back Alex was with him. He began to really pressure us to go with the new plan. We were firm and he still kept trying to force us. Finally we left the store. When we returned home I did some research on stores in Brooklyn. I settled on Ari's store at 99 7th Ave. in Park Slope ( between Union and President Sts., there are others stores on 7th Ave so make sure you go to this one). We walked up there and saw that Ari was not there but another employee named John helped us. We told him exactly what we wanted and we got no argument, except he said he had to order the phones we wanted and they would be in Monday or Tuesday (we came in on Sunday). Also the price we paid was less than what the Manhattan store had quoted. John said he would call me as soon as they arrived. So if there is a problem when I come back I will do another review but everything looks and sounds good!! Much better than our experience in Manhattan. The other folks are jerks!! read more

My son in Minnesota sent me a new iPhone 10XR (I know -- BEST son ever!) When I brought it to the AT&T at 99 7th Ave. in Brooklyn, John transferred all of my apps and pictures, etc. to my new phone then wiped the old phone in a matter of minutes. It is nice to deal with competent people. I was also amazed that I received such expert and friendly service especially considering I did not purchase the phone there. Just had a great experience, really could not recommend this store more. For anyone feeling lost by the number of AT&T Wireless locations in NYC, look no further as this is the one you want to go to. I came in to port a phone over to ATT from a prepaid operator. The prepaid operator made the process agonizing but Ari was helpful, calm, and patient. He offered good advice, spent over a hour on hold with both operators, and had the port completed by the end of the day. He also offered a refurbished iPhone in great condition for a very fair price which was happily purchased. Every experience I have had at this shop has been like this. It's really a pleasure to deal with honest, fair people that sell quality products. Unlike almost everywhere else, even their iPhone cables are authentic. Although places like this clearly thrive on repeat business, they are just as helpful for a one-off request. read more

I had a very unusual experience at this phone store. I had a good time shopping for & buying a cell phone. Having had a cell phone since 97 or 98, usually having two numbers and two phones,& having bought many phones, I can honestly say that prior to last week, I never had a good time in a phone store. More often than not, the experience is mildly or seriously annoying. After 17 or 18 years with Sprint, and after destroying my last flip phone, I began to look for a new flip phone(all i want). Sprint managed to lose my business, and the other carriers all had flip phones and plans for far less money than Sprint. I was about to go with Verizon. I had already been to one AT & T store, on Kings Highway, and the deal did not impress me, and i could not see the phone out of the box. But i was walking down 7 th ave one day, passed a big A T & T store on the North side f the street, and a couple blocks later, noticed this tiny shotgun A T & T store as i passing it on the South side of 7th Ave. I said what the hell, might as well go in. The store was busy. Two staffers, and about 5 customers. Johnny, the young sales guy pleasantly asked me if he could help me. I asked him what flip phones he had. He went to the back, came back with a box, took out a phone,handed it to me. I asked him what the price of the phone and the monthly plan for my requirements was. Again, pleasantly, He answered me. No qualifying questions, no closes, no b.s. Their opening expense was 60 bucks less than the AT & T store on Kings Highway. Same phone. Of course the plan price was the same. He did ask if i'd be transferring a #. I said yes, and he said he'd need my account # & passcode. I replied that I did like the phone and the deal, i would come back cause I had that info at home. Johnny let me go, no pressure to get a deal on paper & leave a deposit, nothing... The first chance i had a few days later, i returned. But it was more like going to the neighborhood bar than to a phone store. Johnny was busy, Ari, the owner took caare of me, & he is as laid back, conversational & friendly as can be. A neighborhood woman, old customer was hanging out, talking about getting a new phone, but hanging out. Turned out we had other cities in common, and we had a twenty minute conversation, Ari, participated too, while he was getting me set up and dealing with the # transfer. Another couple was buying a phone, and another neighborhood woman, also a customer, stopped in to charge her phone rather than go all the way home to do it. We all had fun conversations & really, it was just a neighborhood hang and people got phones at the same time. I don't live in the neighborhood, but what I got from this transaction and interaction is that Ari is a valued member of the community, and his phone store is an asset in the neighborhood. read more

I arrived just as he was closing for the day, but he re-opened so that I could replace my on-its-last-legs iPhone, and he went above and beyond to make sure that all my data was transferred and that I was getting the best deal on my calling plan. It is ALWAYS a torturesome process....."would you like a screen protector, we have a sale on cases, you should buy insurance, how about really good headphones- the ones it comes with are crap" and on and on. Not Ari. You tell him what you want, you pay, he gives it to you and you are like What, no upsell? And there is no question about this stuff that he cant answer, or find an answer. There are several AT&T stores on 7 Ave in Park Slope but I walk passed 3 of them on my way from my house to Ari's. He is intelligent and honest, which is rare in the cell phone business. I learned this when my phone would not charge and the workers in the first 3 stores said i needed a new phone and that they couldn't retrieve some photos and other data I had stored on my phone. I just kept walking from store to store until I found Ari. He said give a few hours and I'll have a technician fix your port. 3 hours and $50 later, my new iPhone 5 was fully fixed and it hasn't had problems since (over a year). read more

I cannot recommend Ari and this store enough. He stayed with me twenty minutes past closing, transferring my stuff from one phone to another. And I didn't even buy anything. He basically spent 45 minutes helping me, at zero cost. He also--for the second time--found a way to lower my monthly bill. If you're anywhere near this location, and are an AT&T person, you'd be a fool not to go see him for all your phone-based needs. I could imagine some taking his lack of enthusiasm as coldness, but really he just comes off as a genuine and helpful human. Just a generally sexy guy. My full endorsement. read more
