With my TMobile contract ending, it was time to upgrade to AT&T's iPhone. Upone entering the store my dad and I were well-recieved by Amir who happened to assist us with our questions. Amir was diligent and patient with all of our questions; explaining the steps he was taking to check the family's call/data history was helpful and eliminated any awkward silences. Another AT&T rep (possible a manager) came over to introduce himself and ensure that Amir was answering all of our questions. Amir dedicated about 45 uninterrupted minutes of service. We were told everyone in that store was new, all employees were having conversations with each other in the store made it really difficult to hear the guy helping us. Me and my mom went to activate just me and my mom's new phones. My sister has a new phone too but she is in LA at work doing Wine sales at the time and needs her old phone to contact clients so we first made sure her phone would not be affected by activating ours. Minutes later My sister texted me asking what's going on with her phone and why can't she call any of her clients she's scheduled with and she is in tears. I now have to meet my sister half way to LA with her new phone because they screwed up and started transferring her phone and can't undo the process. To top it off they were trying to deny it and blame it on my mom saying this started when she ordered the new phones but they knew they screwed up they kept frantically going in the back room telling us they are sorting it out. read more

I just purchased a phone the day before at the AT&T and in trying to set it up, I inadvertently locked my phone and couldn't open it. I was going from an iPhone to an android. I Went back to the store for help and Kameron told me there was no way to fix it. Therefore I had to buy a new phone!!!! I am a senior and needed help in opening it. I had put in the right password, but didn't know the check mark at the bottom of the page meant ok. Nor did he show me. I can't believe their service. Rude. My husband & I went here tonight to upgrade our phones. We had previously gone to an AT&T store up in SLO & it was the worst experience however. When we got here we were put on the list that everyone talks about. We waited about 5 min & were greeted by a sales rep named Dave. We already knew what phones we wanted & told him & much to our surprise he wasn't the typical "pushy salesman" trying to upgrade to a "better" phone or one that costs more money. She gave me some advice on saving data, and was also just very human and down to earth while discussing my plan/bill. This store has changed for the worse. When we first moved here the staff was friendly and helpful. Now they are rude, threatening (yes in the way you think), and deceitful. Been in twice in the last month. The first time they completely got it wrong after spending at 30mins hearing BS. So I went to Apple and 5 mins later I had my phone connected and ready to go. Today they threatened to kick me out of the store because they thought I had said something rude to them. One finger pointing, 3 back to the culprit thing. Excellent service! Recently I made the switch from an iPhone to a Galaxy. I am not tech savvy and needed help to do the switch. Rainie took care of the switch from beginning to end making sure that all of my contacts, calender, notes, photos and videos were transferred. Because I first arrived at AT&T around 6pm this turned into a two day process. Even before I arrived for day two, Rainie called me to touch base and coordinate our schedules so that she could be available to help me. Went in to buy a new iPhone 6. Phone would not turn on in the store. After they plugged it in, it shut itself off twice during setup. They downplayed it because it was the last one in stock while aggressively trying to upsell me on cases, screen protectors, home phone and cable service, insurance, and an installment plan I didn't need. Then tried to get me to downgrade my unlimited data plan. The phone lasted less than twelve hours with red flickering screens and power failures. Took it to the Apple Store for service and they found extensive water damage. Charged me $300 for a new phone and told me AT&T must have resold me a broken returned phone. Went back to this AT&T store and asked to speak to a manager after being told no one could see me for 1-2 hours because they were understaffed. Manager essentially refused to believe me, said it was my fault, and offered nothing in return despite my photo evidence from Apple representatives. Beyond upset. In 10+ years of being a customer, AT&T has never once helped me with any customer service issue. Likely selling this replacement phone and changing to a competitor. read more

About a month ago, I stopped in this store and wanted to create an account for two iPads I picked up at Apple for the company I work for. The consultant wasn't exactly sure how to go about it, spoke with the business to business manager, and was able to get both squared out. So, my initial experience was cool. However, this weekend I get a notice by mail that I'm 'at risk for immediate suspension' of the two lines. Huh? I didn't receive an initial bill. Ok, so perhaps the first consultant had selected paperless billing. I wasn't asked for my e-mail address, so didn't figure this was the case and reasonably expected I'd receive a bill. So, I stopped back at the store to get a copy of the bill I hadn't received and make the payment. I was quite surprised that they wouldn't print a statement AND wouldn't take the payment without charging an additional $5!!! When I arrived, I stated the issue, was asked for my name, my address, my entire SSN#, and driver's license. Since the devices are iPads in use at the company and not in my possession, I didn't know the phone numbers. The consultant provided them to me from the account information he had on-screen. Despite having given all that information, and even been told what the numbers are, he stated that due to security concerns, their policy is not to print a statement for the customer. I couldn't believe it. They want me to pay a mystery amount and will not provide a statement. He stated, I can go on-line, create an account, add the lines to the account and see my statement - would take 5-10 minutes. Btw, just tried this, and they have to snail-mail me an ID code, so I STILL can't see my statement! So much for 5-10 minutes. Ok, well, I don't want the lines suspended, so kinda stuck, gotta pay. I pull out my credit card to pay and he says, if I pay here, he has to charge me an additional $5. I look at him, even more bewildered than not being able to get a statement. Unbelievable! Why frustrate customers for reasonable business needs as obtaining statements and making payments? With the statements, clearly it's not a security concern since I provided all information required to identify myself. The bill has less information than I provided them! (It obviously doesn't have the SSN#) So, either they don't want to expend the paper or feel it takes less time to tell a customer they don't print statements versus actually printing one. Guaranteed it took longer to tell me he couldn't print a statement than to just print it. And $5 surcharge to pay there? New customer buying a new device, no charge. Current customer, want to pay a bill, $5. So, I summarize my first experience with AT&T wireless as, didn't know who they were as I had no devices/plans with them, easily got the SIM cards, followed by unreasonable business practices that frustrate the customer. My current wireless provider's contract is up this December; based on the experiences at this store, won't be switching to AT&T. Dan read more

Do not believe what the AT & T salesperson tells you about the "great deals" they offer for U VERSE. We never had the service be installed and yet they keep billing us for services. We are getting collection calls....each person we dealt with has given us assurances that the "system" shows it was never installed and the next billing cycle will end with a zero balance. We will NEVER try to use their services again. We have had phone service with them for over 10 years and this is what they try to do for us. No breaks. U VERSE IS A RIP OFF and they don't resolve anything. Over four hours of our lives spent on senseless calls that we can't get back. For some reason the current representative, who is the third one we have spoken with since the initial day of installation can't understand why we can't accept her assurance that it is really handled now and the phone calls will stop. read more

I wish I would have read the Yelp reviews more closely before going to this store. This truly is "Upsell City". After the passing of my father we asked for help in lowering our monthly family plan to something more conservative and as cheap as possible. We went from paying $125 for 3 phones to $175 for 2 phones... even after Rob promised us this was the best deal we would get anywhere. Not only do the sales people mislead you and flat out lie, but they won't even provide you with any information until "after the first billing cycle". Needless to say I will be switching to another carrier TODAY, as I strongly encourage every other mislead ATT customer to do so also. read more

Absolutely horrible. This is the second time I'm told something by the staff at the Encinitas ATT and then when I make an appointment to get the service needed I am told the opposite of what I was told earlier that day. Today I was finally able to get my iPhone at the Apple Store but when it got activated my internet changed from unlimited to 3gb for $30. When I was clearly was told by the ATT staff multiple times that the Internet on my previous phone (unlimited for $15) was going to transfer to my new phone. So I went to ATT to clear things up and was told that they were sorry and they were going to put back my unlimited internet to my new phone but to make an appointment so I could go with my dad since he is the primary owner on the account. I made an appointment for tonight so when I finally went, the lady who helped me out called customer service to get things fixed and then minutes later was told that I couldn't get my unlimited internet back due to the phones being different. I told her that this was frustrating because I was told multiples times and reassured by the staff at at Encinitas ATT that my internet data was going to be unlimited on my new phone and now I'm being told something different once again!!!!!! I stood up and just left. The staff seriously needs to get their facts straight. They waisted my time once again. read more

I have had nothing but bad experiences at this AT&T store. Long waits, poor service. Almost rude behavior. I have been with this carrier since 1997 and have carried up to 5 lines with them at a time (currently have 3). I had 2 lines eligible to upgrade and wanted to check out phones. The rep in the store that helped me first time (after waiting 20 minutes) was a female and know quite a bit about the phones, but since I needed to wait for my daughter I did not upgrade at that time.I went back later in the evening with my daughter and got a rep that knew almost nothing about the android phones. He also was rather rude when I ask about waving activation fees, etc. Since I have been with this carrier so long I expected some loyality to me but that was not the attitude at this store. They seemed more interested in trying to sell me things I did not want or need. I ended up ordering my phones by calling 611 from my phone and got a better deal, more support and a very pleasant rep. I suggest to do your research online as it is a crapshoot as to whether you will get a good rep or a bad rep. Most at this store seem to know little about the phones. Such as operating system version, camera capabilities, etc. For another example after getting my new phone and having an issue I called the store - The rep at this store on the phone (I will leave out names) knew nothing about LG and told me, to take the back off my new phone (I had it for 5 days and had just finish loading all my apps, and manually loading contacts since I would not go back to this location) to reseat the battery because my new Optimus kept shutting down. This caused the back of my phone to shatter since you cannot get into an Optimus to reseat anything. From this point it just gets worse before better, but I do not want to write a book about poor customer service. I can only say I have spent more than 5 hours with various reps at AT&T support. read more

Awful!Awful Place! Not only do they never answer the damn phone when someone calls (tried for 2 days straight every 30 minutes or so) . I was able to make it in person , but to my surprise not able to even get past the door! All i needed was a replacement router from them, since theirs gave out. It was for my store, so my credit card machine, and phones were out due to this issue. I had already talked to the tech support , and they told me I would be able to just pick up a new one at any of their locations since i needed one today. The guy at the door said that they did have some in the back but could not even help, and just kept saying it was going to be a long wait and yada yada put me on the list. I saw employees just standing around doing nothing too. I already knew what i had to buy, yet they failed to provide real customer service to help me out with my urgent situation.
