Garrett Brown.... All I gotta say. Call ahead and make an appointment. We arrived at AT&T and I was already annoyed, knowing that a new phone would take 2 hours out of my Saturday. Ugh. We grabbed a latte at Starbucks and 10 minutes later Garrett was ready waiting for us. Stoked. He took us outside and handled the whole transaction sitting in the Sam Diego sun. What a relief. Not stuffed in some loud uncomfortable obnoxious store with so many iPhone covers you're forced to buy a hello kitty case for your niece. Or better yet, sit there for 30 minutes and you'll end up buying an indestructible case that costs you more than the phone itself. So, arriving to AT&T was an escape. Drank my latte on the patio while Garrett handled replacing my phone, switching plans, and saving me $$$. For once an awesome cell phone experience. Thought I'd never say that. Belssy was excellent in helping me buy a new phone and provided quality customer service. She did a great job double tasking when she needed to while also being personable and knowledgeable. She was fantastic when having to handle difficult customers and was very patient and understanding while also being assertive and can-do. What a joke! We went in and tried to ask a simple question, the sales rep ( clown with the glasses on) told me he couldn't help me until someone covered for him at the front. We waited about 10 minutes , watching him play on his computer right in front of us. Only two other people in the store and they were being assisted by other employees. I tried. Really. But this ATT wireless location is at best "meh". Let me explain. There are jems like Rainey who really knows her stuff. But jems can't do it alone. Without a somewhat enlightened management team, great people like Rainey move to greener pastures. And I guess that's the moral here. Unless everyone is committed to great customer service, the customer service will always be a crap shoot. Good sometimes, awful a lot of the time. Look at the reviews. My advice? Updating my review after a really freaking unpleasant experience. Remember how in my first review (below) I said how great Amir was and how much we appreciated him giving us a direct line? Well I'm sure no one will be surprised to hear that Amir's number doesn't go through. And those wonderful promises he made us about extending our uverse and internet package with a quick easy phone call? My husband just spend 75 minutes on the phone, was transferred 6 times until finally reaching the retention department who told us that what we had been promised was not possible. Suffice it to say I take back all the nice things I said before and am in the process of deciding which company will get my three cell lines, land line and cable business from here on out. My husband and I had been dreading this visit to the ATT store but I have to say... and this is weird... I actually had fun! We were greeted at the door and then handed off to Amir who spent a long and patient hour or more with us. We were there a long time and talked about a lot of things so I won't go into detail, but I will say that I was really, truly and pleasantly surprised by the customer service we were given. Amir patiently answered all of our questions and explained everything in detail. He explained our options without pressuring us to choose which way to go. Yes, he is a sales person and he's good at his job. We ended up signing up for U-verse, which is not why we were there, but I was happy with the deal we were offered and have been considering the move for a long time anyway. I really appreciate that he offered up his direct line and instructed us to call him if we needed anything fixed, changed, upgraded, downgraded instead of waiting on perma-hold with ATT. I will definitely contact him if and when we need service of any kind and hopefully we'll get the same attention. Only time will tell, but for now I'm a fan. read more

Checking in, to spend over $300 to upgrade to the iPhone 4, I was told it would be about 10 minutes. Employee after employee finished up, and I thought, "OK, I'm next!" only to have said employees disappear into some back break room or something. Lame. The guy who finally helped me was awesome, bearing with me and my little girl pulling every accessory off the displays and singing and twirling around. Make sure your phone is actually *activated* by personnel before walking out of the store. When I asked Kaitlyn if my SIM card needed to be transferred to my new iPhone or anything else needed to be done she responded that I was good to go, just needed to update my new phone by signing into my iCloud account . When I got home I realized my new phone had not been activated and had no LTE service. Had to call AT&T customer service the next day to get it handled which took far more time than it would have if the person helping us hadn't spaced out. AT&T service is so-so, don't get service in many parts of where I live and combined with the cost of paying off an expensive iPhone, I'm really considering switching service providers. read more

Taking a looot longer to get customer service at most AT&T stores. Bottom line is, They should have more people working at the store! Most of them are chit chatting and at the counter for more than half hour! Waited over 40 mins just to return a product. Pick a time when it's not busy... Good luck! Very disappointed in my whole experience. I went in on Saturday 10/31. Needed to do one upgraded and wanted to check on a possible second upgrade. Spent about an hour going over what I needed only to be told they didn't have one of the phones I wanted but the representative kept trying to push their newest model which is not what I wanted. I ended up only doing one of the upgrades as I had already spent an hour there. The representative talked to me about insurance which I declined and he offered me his card in case I changed my mind. Which I said thank you and if I did I would let him know. I was aware it was the last day of the month and I'm sure they needed sales. Come to my surprise two days later I get an email confirming my insurance enrollment. To what I had said NO!! Very upsetting that now I have to make more time to call att to cancel as they don't take care of it in store. What's more upsetting is that when I called the representative told me they have been getting a lot of calls to cancel this service because it goes unnoticed until we receive and email or check your bill. I understand it's a tough time and I'm sure quotas need to be met, but not that way. Very unprofessional. read more

Don't bother here. If you make an appointment for 3 o clock. But 5 people show up right be for your appointment they get priority. So you have wait in line. I complained that isn't fair and isn't the definition of appointment. They are the only business that does this. They said everyone does that. A flat out lie! Do business elsewhere! read more

I have had nightmare issues with AT&T (when my wife got here phone earlier this year they shut mine off while I was traveling etc) but my last two trips have been awesome. First time was a DOA iPhone 11 for my daughters birthday and the second time was because I put the screen protector on upside down (my 1 star review for myself is forthcoming). Ruben was awesome, gave us a discount on the new screen protector and removed and replaced like a pro. Store was clean with prevention measures in place. An oasis in a sea of AT&T hell. read more

This review is specifically for the Sales Rep Nicholas. I came into ATT to help my autistic brother upgrade his phone. Often when I help my brother with these things, sales people get very frustrated and visibly annoyed because it just takes more patience and time to get him what he needs. I don't know if Nicholas was annoyed when helping us, but he never once showed it. He was incredibly patient and kind and somehow instinctively knew what my brother needed. I don't know how long we were sitting there with him, but Nicholas walked us through getting my brother's new phone, and also walked us through step by step re-activating his Apple account. We were in there over a week ago and I am now writing this review because it really stuck with me how great Nicholas was. It's sad, but a lot of sales people feel they can take advantage of my autistic brother, or just don't give him the respect he deserves because he doesn't act "normal". Nicholas did none of this. He was FANTASTIC and I can't say enough good things about him and the service he provided us. Thank you again, Nicholas! I appreciate the respect and kindness you showed my brother and me. read more

Brought in my flip phone on 1/18/2021 to have it checked as the phone died and the chargers didn't work. Edgar was my guy to help. He was so very patient and considerate. He checked the phone battery and the chargers, and nothing. He used an AT&T charger and it took 40 minutes to charge up to 5%. It then worked. I found the store manager James McMullen to be extremely unhelpful and dismissive during my visit to the AT&T store today. I just purchased a new iPhone X and switched the our home Internet and cable service over to DirecTV at AT&Ts suggestion. Took the phone home updated the software and immediately the Facial recognition software and camera was not functioning. I returned the phone to AT&T where it was purchased less than 12 hours ago and they informed me that this was no longer their concern as they did not make the phone and it was My responsibility to now go repair the defective phone. They told me that I could spend my holiday weekend in line at the Apple store to have the problem diagnosed,or pay them $45 for a restocking fee for a phone that never should've been sold. James McMullen was the store manager who offered these very unhelpful suggestions and acted extremely disrespectful to a customer for over 10 years. Be careful, if you purchase a defective item from AT&T it is now your responsibility to fix it. Way to stand behind your products. read more

Criminals work here. Told I had to change my beloved data plan in order to upgrade phone. Called AT&T after and was told that I was mislead by my salesman most likely for a commission. Do yourself a favor and don't shop there, if you have to - verify any changes you are told you have to make. No company can force you to change voice or data plans when upgrading - lesson learned. I hope I can say zero stars, but if not it should be (can't - 1 is required at a minimum on Yelp, which they don't even deserve that, they deserve negative stars.) Worst store ever. Inept staff (Leonardo and "manager" James)... the only tools they have is saying, "I'm sorry" over and over. As a Qualcomm employee that owns a plethora of devices and typically go to the Vista Way store or the San Marcos store (top notch if you request the expert on what you want if the person helping you isn't cutting it.) - I'm used to being treated very well at these stores. It was my daughters birthday and she wanted an iPhone 5c - Pink, 32gb... AT&T online showed it being only available at the Leucadia store... which most rating sites showed about a 2 star rating... I thought it can't be that bad. Went in, they took my name, kept asking me if I was Richard then other names, the realized they wrote my name down wrong. I showed them an online price, they argued this as being legitimate, then said that was online only but if I could order and do in store pickup then would be ok... then proceeded to work with me to order online as it showed "Find in Store"... ordered "it" under the wrong account and line, the wrong phone... the list goes on, then proceeded to tell me they couldn't do anything from that point I would have to wait several weeks for it to arrive... my daughter wasn't happy, I wasn't happy they just kept saying, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry" Seriously... useless... no thoughts at all to fix the situation, no real communication... dumb. I went up to the Vista way store where they fixed all my problems and I got the phone I wanted. They handled cancellation of the order and also offered a trade in on my daughter's old 3gs which I took. NONE of this was even mentioned at the Leucadia store, just, "I'm sorry." They might be a good sales engineer at Leucadia I dunno, I got Leo and James - HORRID, stupid, bad customer service. I have had ATT since I was 12, I am now 23 and have become apalled at the customer service not only in store but on the phone. I was told by a phone representative that I could take the modem for my U-verse to any ATT or UPS store and have it shipped back to ATT main offices. When I went to the ATT store in Encinitas I was told that information was incorrect, upon asking why a phone represenative would tell me otherwise I was told to "F*** Off" by the store representative, a scrawny young man with brown curly hair and hipster glasses. I have never been spoken to that way by someone serving in a customer service role. I am now switching to Verizon. read more

I walked in the doors at 8:56pm thinking my phone fix issue would b fast. Of course it wasn't and they were supposed to close at 9 but James stayed after to help me try to solve the problem. Visited today to discuss service issues and new phone purchase I6. As we have a family plan 6 phones and wanted to discuss rates and possibility of changing service plan, sales person comment you currently have the Mercedes plan if you would like the Yugo plan see what he could do. Believe he thought he was being funny but bottom line he was a condecending little S!!!!!!! As he was unable to fix a technical glitz with our phone or apparently did not want to deal with the issue. We then proceeded to replace an older phone with new I6 , completed the process after 15 minutes then told us they were out of phones and may be several days. Asked why he did not tell us this from the start hmmm no response. We are now in the process of becoming Verizon customers.
