After promising me a phone to be delivered in two days (even when I was going to go with a suitable model in store) I show up only to be told that my phone may be, MAY BE shipped in 2 weeks. The manager Erick then tried to act tough in front of the female staff, because I was not delighted to agree with the bait and switch they tried to pull on me. So I remain seated while he stands over me telling me, a Black Man, to "Calm down." That racism train is never late. Thanks ATT&T. You are better off going somewhere else. Anywhere else. I had a terrible experience with AT&T that I feel others need to be warned about. An additional phone line and multiple add-ons were added to my account without my consent, which resulted in a much higher bill than expected. I was never informed or authorized these changes. When I went back to the store to resolve the issue, I was told they couldn't help me because they are not a corporate store, only an authorized dealer. They sent me to a corporate store, where I was then told to go back to the original store, because they were the ones who made the changes and needed to fix it. I was bounced back and forth with no accountability. While I was in the store, other customers walked in questioning why their phone bills were so high, which clearly shows this is not an isolated issue. That alone speaks volumes about how this location operates. The authorized dealer said they would "handle it," but it has now been several days with no follow-up, and when I tried calling the store, no one answers. This entire situation has been extremely frustrating and unprofessional. It is very clear that this store operate on commission-based sales, where the more lines and add-ons they push onto customers, the more money they make--regardless of whether the customer actually wants or agrees to them. This feels deceptive and unethical. AT&T needs to take responsibility for how their authorized dealers conduct business. I've a lightening charger and they looked everywhere to get my phone up and running. I appreciate their customer care even though I am not currently with AT&T. It's time to upgrade my current phone and Drew was there to assist me. Drew was knowledgeable of my upgrade and my current data plan. I didn't go through with the upgrade as planned because AT&T would not allow me to pay full on the same day as the purchase. I came in here to get my mom a new phone. I knew what I wanted and just needed some assistance in buying and then setting the phone up. I went in and had to wait about 20mins, which is understandable. The woman who came to help me wasn't helpful at all. Out of curiosity I asked about the different cues between a few phones. She didn't know. I needed all the data transferred from one phone to another. She couldn't help. I needed to see if the two phones were even compatible with one another to see if the data transfer was possible. She couldn't help. After googling all of these issues in front of her on my own phone and finding the answers, I asked her if they had a cable to connect the two phones so I can do the data transfer in store... she said they had no cables in the store. All she could tell me was that I needed to pay them money. I went to another store and they had cables to help and were knowledgeable about the phones and potential data transfers. This Ladera store is a JOKE! My hubby in I went in to upgrade our phones and trade in a phone. A week later we revisited our bill online. Another phone was added to our plan, iPad plan was removed, insurance added to both new phones (without us asking for it) our bill usually is around $200. With all the unnecessary issues above. Our bill would've roughly been $400! Management needs to look into their staff when customers come in for new phones/upgrades. Long story short... speaking to a AT&T customer service rep. Deceitful, Disrespectful, and Unhelpful sums up my very unpleasant experience with sales associate Antonio on 2/2/25. Not only did he mispresent himself by claiming he was the store manager, he also continued to lie when asking for what the AT&T corporate store number was so I could not effectively share feedback on my experience. When discussing my interaction with another team member on my encounter with Antonio, he vocally shouted out "You still crying about that?!?!" Very appalled that someone that is employed to help consult others to understand mobile connectivity solutions would be so brazen with their unfriendly customer service. Fellow colleague Eric, was much more knowledgeable and able to assist with my travel coverage question. However, he failed to explain to me any hidden activation fees. And added insurance to my account which I did not ask for. Very surprising, especially since we talked about how I only wanted this coverage for one month and I could call in at anytime after my trip to cancel. In summary to AT&T corporate leadership, Antonio can be interpreted as a liability if its standard behavior that if he encounters a difficult situation to misrepresent himself, lie and shout unprofessional comments in front of other customers. Misrepresentation isn't a crime, but it can rob us of money just the same. AT&T (Ladera Heights) offered my wife and me a joint cell phone account with an additional new iPhone Xs for just $30 a month each. The only proviso disclosed was that we would have to stay in the plan for 30 months. That was it. Today we got our first bill from AT&T, and it was for $282.16. Many of the charges were in error or would be reversed, but the bottom line was that the phone service would actually cost $48 per month per phone, and increase of over 60% over the quoted charge. That is a gross misrepresentation. Furthermore, AT&T wanted a $55 "restocking fee" to cancel the plan. I refused to pay it. Cell phone service is very competitive right now, but if sales people misrepresent their fees in order to secure business, consumers can be fleeced. Insist on a written statement of charges. I had a great experience at this store this evening. When moms and I first walked in we were told there were four people in front of us and each person could take 10mins. I was like, but decided to wait and so glad that I did because in about 15mins we were greeted by Shay. Her energy was so on point and I loved how she greeted every person that walked in the door. She even knew some of their names. It felt like I was at a family reunion bbq. She was attentive to our needs, but at the same time made sure others coming in felt welcomed and seen. I called ahead and was super happy to hear that they had the phone I wanted to upgrade to in stock. Kameron helped me out while I was there and was super efficient and helpful with the whole process. While I was waiting for my data to transfer the store got a little busy, but all of the staff I saw on the floor were quick to greet people when they walked in and get them helped as quickly as possible. Customer service is terrible! I really wouldn't suggest anyone to waste time going here. I walked in for help and was NOT greeted by anyone. ALL employees are helping customers which is understandable so i take a seat. 2 other people walk in after me and the ATT employees greet them and ask if they needed help. Why didn't anyone greet me or ask if i need help? When i bring this to the attention to one of the employees she starts giving me attitude saying she's not the only one working. Obviously not stupid c.... she then asks if i needed help with strong attitude. I tell her i need to pay my bill and she points to the machine and says there you go but i explain to her i don't know my account # why i need a employers help in pulling it up and she starts shaking her head at me In disgust cause this means more work for her. The girl who was working on May 6th at 1:40pm at this location Was rude and lacked customer service skills and really knows nothing about her job! My phone was on(all working functions) but the screen was black randomly. so I went in to get assistance to see what was wrong. I have the 13 pro max plus and I have insurance warranty that I pay for. The girl looked at my phone and said I was going to have to get my screen fixed. I said what that makes no sense its not cracked or anything she then rudely said well I can upgrade ur phone but u would have to pay full price I said why when I can trade in my phone since it's in great condition and paid off. She then was annoyed that I chose to fox my screen instead so she gave me a number to call that AT&T would then send me a location to get it fixed. how would I be able to call if I cant see my screen. She was rude and of no help and actually made the situation alot more stressful. I then went to a further location(centUry) and the rep fixed my phone in 30 seconds. He said there's a reboot program by pressing certain buttons. That there was a minor glitch that happened. My screen came on and then I still upgraded my phone and was able to trade in my phone. which goes to show the girl was incompetent, rude & needs to be fired or needs more training and to work on her customer service skills. They don't care about customer frustration. The corporate strategy is to force people to engage mobile apps and online support, staffed overseas. While I was at the fox hills mall location, a family walked out after waiting 20 minutes and realizing that help was not on the way. This said, the guy that helped me had a great attitude and was hugely competent. Not one took 10 seconds to come to the front and address me and a couple other customers who were waiting outside. Had they came up there just as a normal courteous customer service gesture, they would have known I was only there to buy a charger. Which would have took two seconds.
