Went in with friends to exchange a damaged iPhone case, under warranty, and was appalled at the poor customer service. What should have taken 10-15 min at the very most, took 1 1/2 hrs! Employees were totally unconcerned with those waiting for help. Focus was definitely NOT on customer service. Each customer contact seemed to drag on forever, with lots of social chit-chat. Endless reference to their iPads. Lots of exiting to the back room and outside (breaks?). There were plenty of clerks to help, but not actually trained to make it a priority or even show concern. Whomever manages this location should be ashamed. In this competitive retail atmosphere you'd think service would be a high priority - have they simply given up? I contacted my bank and was told, oops, sorry, but it's already been paid and that I just need to contact AT & T Mobility (Wireless) myself. (Well, swing and a miss, but...they were helpful, and, in the end it will work out). Oh, I'm sorry; did I say AT & T Wireless (Mobility) out loud? Okay, here goes - But just to keep your interest we'll splash in a quote from an AT & T Wireless (Mobility) manager: "Do you have any idea how big our company is?" Yup. Now, the details... A prelude - AT & T you are welcome for all the free links. So, anyway... let us remember that I am a died in the wool, super-advocate of providing exceptional customer service kinda guy, so I may be biased. We'll see. Summary - the first AT & T representative I spoke with said - "we're sorry and your funds will be credited to your bank account within three to five business days." Great! Now THAT is prompt, efficient, and laudable customer service. Alas, the story doesn't end there. I get a call about 20 minutes later. It's AT & T calling about my case number (available - email me if you want to chime in). Apparently they cannot refund the accidental overpay electronically. So, let's make it brief... Me: I was told this was taken care of. AT & T: Well, we realized that we actually need to either give you a credit or (physically) mail you the funds. Me: I was told that this was already taken care of. AT & T: It is our policy that we have to do it this way. Me: Um, okay, that is not what I was told, but I do understand. I appreciate your help and I know you are just doing as you are scripted or prompted to do. Can you please transfer me to either a manager or someone with the authority that makes these decisions or policies? AT & T: Yes, please hold (followed by a zillion minutes of really bad elevator music and AT & T product / service pitches). Side note -when I first called (611) as an existing customer, I was connected quickly - and I do appreciate that. But once it became obvious that I did not fit into a scripted call... all bets were off. AT & T: How can I help you? Me: I repeated the situation. AT & T: Again reiterating their policy (after I'd reminded them that that was not what I was told regarding my case number). Sigh, anyway, I was told that the only way to get my electronic refund was to...ready?...Wait for it.... Have my financial institution send them a letter on letterhead with the request. Otherwise, it would be sent to me via snail mail. Really? I asked if they requested the letterhead when they accepted the original or duplicate payment or any of my previous payments. No response (insert crickets chirping here). They then asked to verify my address. I asked if they needed my property manager's permission on letterhead (sarcastic, sure, but.... well, you get it). Okay so, "let me speak to whoever set this policy up." AT & T: I don't know who that is. Me: Okay, let me speak to whomever I need to in your billing department. AT & T: I don't know who that is. Me: You do know who signs your check, right? AT & T: Yes, but sir, do you have any idea how big our company is? Me: "I sign your check. I am a customer. Do you know how large that is? I just want to speak with someone who can assist me with this. We're only talking 50 bucks, and I thought it was resolved with my first call an hour ago." AT & T: Is there anything else I can help you with? And that was my experience this morning. Lastly - Guess what. I've been an AT & T Wireless / Mobility customer for over ten years. And my AT & T Wireless / Mobility agreement expires on March 15, 2012... any guesses to the sequel of this tale? p.s. - I do have the case number available should anyone be interested in attempting a better result... I am 75years old, in September, 2019 I purchased a iPhone and was to receive the second one free. The manager told me it would take 3 months of making payments on both phones and then I would see a refund of payments made on my fourth bill. ALL LIES! I am now told the manager should have added "unlimited" to my plan to qualify and now it is to late to get the promotion. I am stuck with paying $600 for each phone and Cannot get out of my contract until 2023. I tried to speak to person above store manager but was refused access to him. I spent 2 1/2 hours with customer service and finally given the above information. AT&T doesn't care about one old customer. The "store managers LIE just to get a sale. please go anywhere else for phone service. I left a real buttery comment before about this place till i received a cold shoulder, brushed away treatment from one of the associates. Dunno his name but he is long-hair pony tailed guy. Came to just pay my bill and all i had was cash. I went to the counter and ask if he can help me. He immediately pointed the kiosk (computerized) payment machine, and i was told he'll charge me $5 if they'll collect my payment instead. That was odd and unacceptable to me. PERIOD.. This place shares the same building as Fruttos Yogurt. It's a fairly large store with a lot of open spaces. All their phones are on display against all four walls and there are some on center islands. They also have an AT&T U-verse station set up... Today was the third or fourth time that I've been here. The store is neat and uncluttered and I always get really good vibes from the staff... they were helpful and there was someone there who was able to answer all my questions ranging from different prices, speed of their mobile internet service, phone comparisons and AT&T U-verse... I do not recommend this store, or any store for AT&T in general, for getting a phone service provider. Upon entering the store, I was greeted by someone right away who put me into the queue. This made me feel welcome, however there was no one in the store that was being helped. This made me feel that they made me wait so that I would browse the products in the store. I did not feel that this is an appropriate technique to show products by 'forcing' people to look around when they don't need to wait. We were approached by a very friendly sales representative who started to take my information. My main purpose for the visit was to (1) find out how much time was left on my contract and (2) see if I could get a lower rate for my bill. Instead, the representative took steps to try and up-sell me and add more to my contract before she even pulled up my information. Once she did pull up my information, no effort was made to find alternatives to find a lower rate or contract. The customer service up front is excellent, but the feeling is that product is being forced into the consumers lap. Due to this experience, I plan on leaving AT&T once my contract is up and leaving for a more reasonable monthly charge. read more

I had an appointment tonight at 5:30pm. I was not called until 5:57pm. My husband called AT&T earlier to make sure everything was fine to upgrade my phone. It was, so should be smooth sailing right? Not even!!! They tell me I have to pay 180.00 on the phone I have but it's only worth this much and they would buy it back and so on and so forth. I was totally misled by the person at AT&T It has now taken me 15 phone calls and 5 hours of my time to try and get them to not bill me for a service I never started using as it was not going to work. This morning, my Android phone, purchased at an AT&T store, malfunctioned. I took it in to this location and was promptly greeted by a nice, young man in a headset. I notice a lot of people on these headsets running around, but there's still a wait. Maybe if there were more actual customer service people rather than greeters, the wait would be less. But, I digress. I was met by an efficient appearing employee named Christina. I showed her my phone, explained to her what happened, and she proceeded to try and access the phone. I then expressed my disappointment in the phone and told her the problems I was encountering. NOT ONE TIME did she acknowledge the problems, my frustration, or offer a standard apology that is usually warranted in these situations, or really the fact that I was in front of her speaking. She then peeled off the back of the phone, looked at the battery, and said, "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO YOUR PHONE? THE BATTERY IS WARPED." Feeling as though I was being charged with a heinous crime, I pleaded the fifth and could not offer an explanation as to the battery (which was not the issue with the phone). After her review of my supposed treatment of the phone, she informed me I would need to get in touch with the service center and that I could call them. I said, "I have no phone that works." She said, "well, we have PLENTY of phones in this store that you could use." Instead of offering the quickest solution, would have been her saying I could drive to Mira Mesa, I had to converse with her further to finally learn this was an option. After several agonizing moments in Christina's presence (I obviously had taken her away from something more important that day), I was on my way to the Mira Mesa service center. There, my phone was restored and received EXCELLENT customer service from their staff. read more

I came in the door was treated but then wasn't approached to have my name on the wait list so then after me another man walked in and was approached to get his name on the list. Kinda upset because now I waited longer. They have no remorse or even a good attitude in the store. They all seem miserable and hate their lives and I can see why there service is terrible. So I had an issue with my home internet bill. My fiancé went in and set up a promotion deal with someone here when I was out of town. The deal was sign up for direct tv now and revive home internet at the rate of $30 a month. Good deal I thought. Then I received my bill and it was $50 so I figured maybe a start up fee etc. then the next month rolls around and boom $50. So I finally get the time to go in and try and figure it out. I go in and I am helped by Edwin, he starts by looking up the bill and finds that I am receiving a discount $20 off the original price, but not what my fiancé signed up for. I explained it to him and he and a few coworkers looked at the computer for a good 20 min and he comes back asking if I could sign in to direct tv now so they could figure out who helped my fiancé. Then he goes back and talks to his manager for a few mins and then back to me and tells me his manager would like to make things right with $100 visa gift card, but that only if I sign up for regular direct tv. I said no I don't want direct tv. Are you gonna make it right. He said no it's only if you sign up. So pretty much a waste of 45 mins going in there and have them do nothing. I asked to have him cancel my internet and he gave me a number to call cause the don't do that In the store anymore. The customer service here is now HORRID here. We use to get such excellent service here, and now they all act as if they are doing me a service, and if I don't want to do business here then I should go somewhere else. Well, so be it! First off, learn all of your products. When a customer comes in known more then you maybe we should take our business elsewhere. How do you expect to sell anyone on a phone that would best suit the customer? My husband was calling for an hour and no one answered. It just kept going over and over in the queue. So, we came in, and of course there was a couple of reps just "standing" around. The gal that greeted us got our name, but of course don't tell us how long the wait it. She didn't even know if they had the phone we were looking for on stock. Then, when it was our turn they just kept telling us they don't have any on stock. We asked if they have another phone line, and they just kept in giving us excuses as to why no one was answering. The music in here is way to loud to listen to a customer. I feel like I'm in the club and not trying to check out a new phone. I train employees on customer service, and if my associates treated our customers this way I would get them some major assistance in their attitude. read more

AT&T U-verse is AWFUL. The actual connection is ok, but the customer service, billing links, service is beyond sub-standard. They make you "link" accounts to log in online and pay bills. You do the set up and the next time, the "link" disappears. So, you have to call...hello Automated service. Do you understand English, apparently NOT- programmers AND customer service located in India. Awesome. Dialing 0 does not work. Fine, lets try the chat window. I would like to pay my bill. Here' s my credit card information etc... "Thank You it has been processed" What was the total amount you processed on my card? The charge? Yes, how much was the bill? I do not have that information. If you live in zip code 92083, DO NOT GET ATT HOME INTERNET. I repeat: DONT DO IT!!!!!! It's more cost effective to lit the fire place with your dollar bills. ATT internet is absolutely worthless. It's more off line than on. Randomly disconnects. Watching Netflix; impossible unless you like to see only 5 minutes before it shuts down. Try to call them? Won't solve anything. Complaining doesn't help, refunds..... forget about it. They'll even charge you $120 for early termination for a service you never received. Don't say nobody warned you! The best investment is the $120 early termination fee. You won't regret to pay that. At least you won't have to pay anymore for NOT having internet and can swap back to a decent provider. Never ever again. Vista was never a strong ATT internet region and will never be. Don't be fooled by discounts. Even 1 star is highly overrated for 92083 internet. Please listen to me: Do NOT, Absolutely NOT get ATT home Internet. If I can safe one poor soul from being ripped off by ATT than this post was worth it. Just don't do it. read more

The guy at the door was rude lied about my wait time just overall a horrible experience

I recently went into this AT&T location on Wednesday, May 11th, to buy a new phone case since the one I ordered off Amazon was pretty cheap. I was a little hesitant to go in to this location because of the reviews I read on here, but I figured, "Screw it, I'm just getting a phone case, that's all." So I went in and both employees out were both busy with people at the moment but I didn't pay much mind to it, I was just here to get a case and leave. Mind you, it was pretty busy when I went in. But when one of them was free they asked if I needed any help today and I just said I was looking for a phone case and she directed me to both places that had the cases I was looking for, and when she left I checked some other cases and not too much later the other employee asked if I needed anything and I told him the same thing. When I finally picked a case, the guy offered to put the case on the phone for me, but I guess he needed to go do something else so he asked the girl who was free to take care of my transaction and I asked her if it was okay if I could compare cases since I started to feel really skeptical of the one I picked. The other one was already on my phone but she said it was totally fine and went and grabbed the other one I was looking for and even asked me if I saw this other color she pulled out and asked if I wanted to see that one too. I said no thanks and she seemed happy to help and didn't complain or anything even though I felt like I was being picky or trivial things like a phone case. I just wanted to leave this review here as 5 stars to really point out that the sales associates were performing the opposite of what the majority of reviews are on here. Ugh.... I'd rather go to the dentist AND the proctologist in the same day than be forced to deal with the people at the Vista CA AT&T store. Unbelievably long and slow lines.... Very limited selections of phones... Virtually everything you need to do at this store will take you at least an hour (seriously / literally). Stoof around for 30 minutes and let four "sales clerks" were still "helping" the same customers they were when I walked in.... I'm convinced that the two elderly customers in line behind me may die of old age before being helped. WHO is managing this circus? read more

Many thanks to Allana, who has great customer service and was able to get my spouse into a proper Smart phone (sorry, Moto X, but you're just not nearly as good as an HTC One). There was little to no pressure, she answered all of the questions we had, and we walked away happy campers. I know cell phone stores are daunting to enter, because the expectation is they are going to make every attempt to have you walk out with something. However, after getting past the requisite special offers and deals, we were able to come in on a Saturday, talk it over, see where the rates would fall, went home to think about it, then came back the following day to work with the same person. The other employees seem to be respectful and observant of the situation (i.e., not everyone asked me "do you need help?", which personally is a bit of an annoyance). When you're signed in with the floor "receptionist," they'll let you browse and come and find you... otherwise, just enjoy looking at the merchandise & come in with all your questions. I'll be going back to this location & asking for Allana specifically when it's time to upgrade my iPhone. read more

I cant believe the customer service at this place. Terrible! The manager couldn't help me with a sale because his sales rep was outside smoking a cigarette for 25 minutes while he worked on store closing procedures an hour prior to closing. We were the only customer in the store to top it off. When it came down to being there for over an hour, the sales rep wouldn't help to finish our purchasing of new phones because the store was going to close in 10 minutes. Worst part is we explained we had to get a babysitter so we could come and take care of our business. Business wasn't completed. Do not visit this Location! I went for a go phone a couple of days ago and was lied to by the store Manager Bolivar. He forced me to sign up for their crappy Direct Tv Now service, he said i would get 2 months of free service on my Go phone plan, which I thought was great but he said i needed to get direct tv now to take advantage of the promo. He also said i would get additional 5 dollars off with Auto pay which was indeed correct. I told him i didnt need the service since i already have Netflix but he said that was the only way to get my discounts and promos. Well I just found out I was tricked by this punk ! I didn't need to sign up for jack crap! I could have gotten all the promos without their crappy Direct Tv Now bullshit! Shame on you At&t and your staff. Wanted to pay my bill today Sunday (7:01pm) 1/18/15. But they close at 7pm on Sunday's but i still noticed quite a few people inside the store (like 8people) so i decided to try and go in, but was told that it was closed already by a female employee. I then said can I make a quick payment. The employee replied "nope sorry" It seemed like the other people that were being helped already by other employees were still going to be there for a pretty long time. And I always take no more than 2 minutes at the machine paying my bill. I mean at least Cox and Verizon have allowed me to make a quick payment after store hours in the past. And with customers still inside the store. At this moment (7:28pm) I am editing my review because there is still people inside the store. They do have a bit of a wait time depending on the day and time but it is definetly worth it! They answered every question we had and helped change our account information as well as sending in a broken phone for service and signing up for directv now and attaching it to our at&t account! When I cancelled my service. I ended up paying well over 800 dollars in fees. When I was told to cancel my service it would be about 400 dollars. Now I am getting another bill for 78 dollar cancellation fee. I was told on the phone the last bill for 101.00 dollars was the last bill I would receive. I have been billed 4 times since I cancelled the service. So I have been paying bills on phones and tablets that I don't have or use for 4 months. This is ridiculous. Its highway robbery and stealing if you ask me. I will never do business ever again with AT&T and I will tell all my friends and family members too. No one I know has AT&T for this very reason. Plus I am saving 60 dollars a month now on my bill. AT&T claimed to be giving me a 20% discount. Now I have unlimited everything and I am saving 60 dollars a month read more
