went there with an old back up phone but could not remember the password so it could not be activated so i had another phone but not with me by the way my original phone in repair at apple store and i have an account with ATT. he gave me an att sim card and said go to any att store and they can activate the phone for you he was customer service oriented helplful and concerned, only thing was he talked me into getting a wifi air, i really do not need that and will return it, i do not see where my bill would be cheaper and can not see my bill in details, i have issues getting some one on the phone i am thinking about changing if things do not change. read more

Walked into the store looking to upgrade telephone and went over to phone to see their latest options and possibly inquire about home internet. Less than 1 min walking into the store a male security walks over and in a rude and aggressive manner "are you seeking services, if not you have to leave the store" i was confused because I couldn't understand why a security guard would be coming up to me about seeking services when they aren't a sales rep. I didn't even do anything but look at phones... I just walked in ??? I asked the security why is he speaking to me in this manner. The female associate interjects and raises her voice across the room at me instead of walking over and aloud says "well we spoke when you came in and but you didn't speak!!." I was confused ?? So what is the reason for the security guard asking me instead of you engaging with me directly to help me... ??why didn't you just walk over as you can clearly see I have head phones in... I didn't hear you. She continue to sit there as shown in picture. She never walked over to help me...The other two male AT&T associate just were standing around and the other continues to sit there watching the interaction instead of trying to deescalate by just simply HELPING me. The security guard rudely interjects the conversation and states I'm causing a disturbance due to me speaking up about the unfriendly conduct that they showed me. "So now I'm causing a disturbance by simply walking into your store to look at phones ??! Make it make sense. " She goes on to say something under breath " I don't have time for this " which made no sense because what do you not have time for, to service people ??? you are sitting down asking a security guard to do your job ! And you will see on camera how long I was in the store when this happened.. not long !!! The security guard escalated the issue threatens to call the police on me for just walking into the store to look at phones !! I told him call the police and will report every single one of you to corporate for the aggressive, unwarranted unprofessional conduct and sue for mistreatment. I even waited for the police and no one arrived. the security guard falsely reported i was causing a disturbance they provoked/created. I have never been into any retailer and have someone treat me like that...I understand there is weird activity going on around in china town but as someone who works in employee relations these people should be placed on warning with reprimanded or fired. No reason to provoke aggressive action upon a client who did nothing. I asked if a manager was on site. They said no. The second male associate clearly see my phone was damaged and relayed to him "see... this is why I came in here!!! I just want the District Manager info... I'm not buying anything out of this store and would like to report the incident. he said let me check to see if I can give you that ?!?! And says sorry I can't give you that. So I asked do you have business cards... he says no... and said the store manager responded back via text and gave him the green light to pass her email on to me... ?!?! Are you kidding me. So the company refusing to give point of contact for service members and client now ??? I took some pictures of the interaction for record due to the uncalled hostile behavior ... but this is not all of them and the black male associate in pictures even continue to taunt me by threatening me due to Saying " you don't know me, I don't give a fuck" As you can see he's walking around with ear buds while working. This team and security guard should be trained on sales, client engagement, respect and having emotional intelligence in the workplace... Or simply be fired because they are clearly incapable of possessing skills to know how to be face fronting with clients. not even the security guard who also lacked professionalism and tone. I left and went to another provider to inquire about the same services that they were too ignorant and unprofessional to help me with. If you need to look on record you have cameras in your store. I have been having the worst luck with dropping my phone recently. Each time I have dropped it I have had to get the screen protector replaced. This was my second time coming to a location to have that done. I was in luck that this location just happens to be steps away from the Metro Station I usually take on any given day. After I finished with work for the day, I made my way here. When I walked in I was quickly greeted by an employee. After letting him know I was here to get a replacement screen protector he was on his way to do what he needed to do. He took payment first and we chitchatted while he expertly swapped out the screen protectors. We discussed how it is ridiculous for people not to get them or the insurance on the phone. Before I knew it, I had my phone back in my hand, thank the man, and was on my way to board the Metro. read more

I managed to get a new phone AND go to the AT&T store all in the same day, and Martine and her team went above and beyond, even as I struggled to get my family plan figured out. This review is only for Briana and Charles ONLY! At the Chinatown AT&T location. Briana the one with the longer wavy hair was VERY willing and helpful last week. I regretfully went downtown to get my phone repaired at the Apple Store. Due to security features I needed to get an AT&T rep to assist me bypass the security. Briana confidently helped me do this for my loaner phone. A week later (yesterday) I had to pick up my real phone and do the process again. There was a gentleman with glasses possibly African (no offense just description) who wanted absolutely nothing to do with me. He did everything but try to help me. I know that location might be a little congested and have randoms come in. However I am a serious buyer, customer and mature adult. I thank Briana and Charles for helping me through a very stressful time. Without a phone is scary especially when you live alone. I purchased an I phone at the store down the block. Because of ATT's draconian security rules, I had to go to a store. This location was nearby, but on the way out, the Apple agent said "I'll be praying for you." As an ATT customer for over 20 years, this was hands down the worst experience I have ever had. Once the manager realized I wasn't getting a phone, she wanted nothing to do with me. She handed me a SIM card, and pretty much told me to put it in myself. And rather than talk with an agent, which happened with me in every other situation, to activate the store, she put me on a phone with ATT support and went about her business. I was on the phone for an hour. Then the agent said I would need to go to an ATT store to resolve my issue. The agent was dumbfounded and confused that I was in the store and hadn't really been helped. The manager eventually got on the phone, and demanded to speak with the agent's supervisor after she was told she was the one who needed to help activate the SIM card. She hung up on the agent, asked me for some info, and activated my phone in two minutes. I was too tired to fight with her about the experience. I should also add that I found the store utterly disorganized in terms of operations. All the customers were in their too long even if they were purchasing equipment. I had lost my phone, so I really had no choice, but there is no way I would ever return to this location, and was g as if tempted to take my new phone elsewhere and drop ATT. I was in DC so I popped into the AT&T store. Am I dope or what? AT&T doesn't sell replacement batteries for the phones they sell. WTF? The shop -- this one right at Gallery Place Metro stop -- kind of has the look of an Apple Store. But that's where the similarity ended. The folks at Apple are smart, helpful and tech savvy. She was very, very kind and patient with me as I am not at all tech savvy. I signed up for a new plan with 3 new phones. Representative Aaliyah added 15$ per line insurance without telling me. They also double charged my credit card for tax on one of the phones. I called the store twice, the second time they put me on hold then hung up. I went back to the store and they claimed they could fix either error. Recommend I call a 1-800 number. They couldn't help either. No different than other carriers. Will update review if corrective action is taken. Otherwise, I will be returning devices and cancelling my plan. read more

Hands down I can vouch and say that they should just close this store down. It's convenient as it is located a few steps away from the metro but that odd layout gets me every time. It's literally on the 2nd floor and I feel like they should have a greeter at the front door instructing you that the actual service is upstairs. The security guards don't interfere unless prompted by staff for security concerns/matters. The team members here are young and lack good customer service. Some try and some don't try at all. They have no respect for customers at this location. I've had two bad experiences here. One via the telephone and one in person which actually caused a complaint in store to the manager on duty who was young and didn't seem to care. When I called yesterday to ask my very specific question I was told no. Now, the least you can do when I'm giving you the brand of the phone, color and gbs is to search your stock room as we know inventory can lie. Did she check? Nope. Just a simple no. Anita the store manager was disrespectful, dismissive and basically failed to do her job today. I visited the store to do an exchange / return of a phone I purchased for my business account 18 days ago. The service rep that was looking up my account asked my number, name, and ID... he proceeded to tap on his screen and after a few minutes left, without saying anything or giving me any update. Anita then walked over and asked me "whats up" .... I had no idea what the status or situation was and why she had replaced my other rep and politely told her so. She then informed me she was sent over because the rep couldn't help me. Very odd and poor communication. I was then informed in a very snarky way by her I was beyond my return period (14 days) and there was nothing they could do. She didn't look at my account, didn't offer other solutions or offer to help me with the manufacture warranty process. nothing. It is clear she didn't want to do the return and was not interested in finding ways to help me as a customer. I was just an annoyance to her. After returning to my office and spending time with business care on the phone I was informed my return period was 30 days as a business customer and that if I replaced the phone with them they would only be able to offer a refurbished phone. If I wanted a new phone I would need to go to an ATT store, again. They annotated my account to ensure I wouldn't have the same problem again. I then called the store to speak with Anita to clarify the issue before returning to complete the exchange, to ask why she and her staff did not properly review my account, and yes, for an apologize for incorrect information and the time it caused me to waste. I was told by Anita that she did not need to tell me why a mistake was made and then went on to say that HER receipt from her store shows that the return period is 14 days, but that she would be "happy" honor the 30 day policy I was now aware of. How she pulled up my receipt so quickly over the phone without asking for my information again, is a mystery. Anita was defensive and only offered a snarky apology for how I "felt" and not an apology for her and her stores actions that resulted in my poor customer service and total the waste of my time. I went into this store three days ago checking to see if the Apple AirPods were in stock. I walked in and Eric greeted me right away. He went into the back to check if the AirPods were in stock. Unfortunately they were out of stock. I asked Eric if he could call me once they get them back in. Three days later today I get a phone call from Eric saying he had the AirPods in stock. I work very close near by so I ran down to the store right away. Eric had the item and checked me out promptly. Very happy with the overall customer service received. I don't upgrade often because I don't have to have the latest and greatest. But also because it seems like every time I decide to, it's such a process-therefore causing me to dread it each time. Last time I upgraded at the Pentagon City location, the young guys there were so unprofessional but more importantly, they screwed up my phone bill so badly that I had to contact the VP's office (was charged double, lost the phone I sent back, etc )! Fortunately, the customer service at Gallery place was the complete opposite. Wendell helped me and had me out of there is less than hour without cutting corners. He made it such an easy and smooth process! He was also sure to be very clear on what I should expect my future bills to be, how to save me more money (enrolling in auto pay-which noone ever informed me of & I've been a customer for about 10yrs), etc. He was so knowledgeable, professional, and kind, it made me to only want to go to that location in future! read more

This is where I go when I wanted to evaluate the latest smartphones. The selection used to be the best here but I am not so sure anymore. There are competing stores nearby. I wish there was something to see on the first floor so I would need to hike up the stairs as that can strain the knees of its most valued clientele. I would wish for some signage directing customers to go upstairs. I have seen a couple of customers mistake the place for fake store front and leave. Don't worry nothing dark and nefarious is hiding upstairs. I think the armed security guards look a bit intimidating in that they seem better armed than the guards at Bank of America. Personally, I would like it better if the guards had stun guns which I believe would be more commensurate with protecting a cache of smartphones or if AT&T mandated a kill switch so we would need as much security. Overall, I mostly visit to browse the latest phones, pay bills or people watch. read more

Due to this strategy, I walked out with my phone bill being $40 more expensive. I had to call to have this corrected. The guy was already unfriendly to me as he explained I needed to be an authorized user. He told me I had to call the account holder and for them to call 611 to sign me up as an authorized user . Well the person did that and the customer service rep said to go online, but she didn't have access to the internet. After trying to explain to them what happened with the customer service rep on the phone, they were completely unhelpful and rude. I was given false information about my bill. I was told certain changes would lower my overall bill & spent over an hour going through the changes to my bill. I was shown the math & how it would not raise my costs. Unfortunately, my bill was nearly $200 more the next month. Sadly, I think the sales representative needed the sale at the expense of the truth. She really pushed me to do it & I thought she was trying to help my family. I had to call AT&T customer service to revert some of the changes and still will have to go into a physical store to correct the rest. However, I will be going to a different AT&T store. I took my 4 (yes I said 4) kids to this AT&T location to get each of them their first phone. Yikes. Their ages are 13, 12, 12, & 10. Upon reluctantly entering, I was greeted by Nicholas Gorham. I explained my dilemma to Nick and he jumped into action explaining all of my options, what would be most practical and most affordable for everyone. After deciding which phones and plans I was going to get, Nick went above and beyond when he sat down with all four kids and helped each of them pick out individual phone numbers and then showed each of them how their new Android works and even set them up with their own individual Google accounts! All I can say is WoW - bravo AT&T for hiring an outstanding employee. Promote him, retain him, grow him because he's invaluable to your company. read more
