I came in ready to buy a new laptop and left empty handed. Why? Because when I entered the store, no one greeted me or offered to help. In addition, when one clerk became available, he immediately greeted a man standing next to me and engaged in an extended conversation with him even though he said he wasn't there to buy but just to browse. I left the store and am actually going to complain to Apple b/c our company buys a lot of computers from them every year. read more

Don't waste your time. Seems their expertise is extremely limited, and they are flat out not willing to help anyone unless your product is Apple, Apple related etc. I have an MacBook, the issue was downloading some info from Google, they were not even prepared to try to help. Very disappointing. My friend told me not to bother, she said they are very limited in what they are prepared to help with, she was right, I should have listened. Its all glossy facade, fancy showroom, but no substance or REAL help when people need it. There is a REAL opening for a business opportunity for someone to ACTUALLY HELP PEOPLE WITH INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY instead of just pretending, like Apple does. read more

I went in today for scheduled Genius Bar appointment to replace iPhone battery. Check in was smooth and Apple staff were great. In fact while waiting in the store for my phone battery to be replaced, one of the Apple staff members asked me if I was interested in demoing the Apple Vision Pro. The AVP specialist did a great job navigating me around the interface. Overall, I had an excellent experience here. read more

I will say, multiple men I spoke to from this Apple store were absolutely awful.. My first lady I spoke to I forgot her name but my second was named Alexis, and she was so kind and helpful. Both men hung up on me but both ladies tried and did help me with a broken screen that I couldn't use. I'm so beyond thankful for their help. read more

I wish I would give this minus stars. Rich from the 'genius' bar was extremely rude and told me to leave. He has no respect about how to speak to a woman and to not intrude in their personal space. My barely one month old iphone has been crashing and their solution was to extend my apple care plan. Upon asking for further help from someone he came and said no one can help you. Genius manager Rich was awesome. Thankfully it wasn't too busy when I walked in on a Sunday afternoon, so he was able to help me right away. I needed to return a computer and he made it super easy and quick, even though he was helping other customers in the process. Terrible experience. Went in to upgrade to a new phone. They could not get my existing service from verizon established on the new phone & I had to leave after nearly 2 hours. I left without the new phone & my old phone no longer had service. I then had to spend more time on-line with verizon to re-establish service on the initial phone. The managers offered no assistance or help while this going on. Additionally, the person assisting me left me multiple times to help other customers while I was waiting & expecting help. Genius Bar was poorly run. Waiting after my appointment time began while two employees chat with a customer, not helping anyone else. I was recommended by the Genius Bar to pay for a $300 parts replacement after a very short and not in depth analysis of my device. I turned it down and couldn't be happier that I did, as I went home and updated the software, with the problem immediately being solved. I've always received great service at the Apple store esp the one at Clarendon and Tyson's Mall and I was totally disappointed with the service at the Georgetown location. No one greeted us when we walked in. When I found someone up front and told them I had a 6:30pm appointment they directed me to the back without checking their tablet or asking what it was for. My friend asked if there was a restroom she could use and he directed her to Wawa across the street. The overall energy of the staff in the store was just bad. read more

Terrible appointment system that is inconsiderate of the customer's time. I made an appointment for a battery replacement at 6pm. When I arrived I was told that the repair team was done for the day and I would need to leave my phone there overnight. I didn't feel comfortable doing this and they should've communicated this to me when I made the appointment. I then booked another appointment a couple of weeks later at an earlier time slot. When I arrived I was told that the battery wasn't in stock and they could order it and it would arrive 2-3 days later. If I have to provide my phone model to make the appointment, why can't they notify me that the battery I need is out of stock before I make the effort to go to the store?? I asked if I could've called ahead of time and they said they don't give out details of inventory over the phone. A complete waste of time once again. read more

You would think an Apple Store is an Apple Store! Right!?....I mean same products, same inventory, same selection.....And, never no damn sales!! What's up with that!? Well set aside....the cool location, building with great architecture, over-sized mall location, or historical landmark that the Apple store may occupy....they are generally all the same. BUTTTTTT, what sets this store apart from all the others is the customer experience, service, and knowledgeable technical staff. On top of that, this location is the only one in DC that still has Genius Bar.....All Apple geeks out there....do you remember the Genius Bar!? I have busted my Apple virginity and brought my very first iPhone (3G) here over eight years ago. And, ever since, from this exact same store....I have added an additional iPhone upgrade purchases, MacBook Pro, iPad, Apple Watch, service repairs, headphones and every accessory you can name to the list. Yes...I can admit....I have dranked the Apple "Kool-aid" and am in the entire Apple ecosystem at this point. No turning back now....LOL! BUTTTTTT, each time and with each purchase, the service and experience at this location has been consistently great. This visit was no different, I came in for a iPhone 7 cracked-screen repair. I was able to get serviced, without making an appointment as most location make you do. I walked in, was greeted, explained my problem.....and in less than an hour I was in & out with a brand new functional iPhone --that was no longer cutting my fingers with each swipe or giving me glass splinters! During the wait, I browsed around and tried to resist....but in the process I even upgraded my old iPad to the iPad Pro. As part of the purchase, I even received a free pair of wireless Dre Beats! Doesn't get any better than that!! Again, all of this occurred within the hour...and I walked out, happy of course! While staying in Georgetown for 2.5 weeks, we needed some items from the Apple store. We showed up without an appointment, and had to wait in the line outside of the store. Because I was wearing a neck gaiter, they gave me a disposable mask to wear inside. After only a five minute wait, we were escorted into the store where an Apple associate helped us with our shopping list (EarPods, iPad Smart cover, new iPhone leather case, etc. We were out of there in ten minutes. The store had excellent protocols which were enforced with a smile. Our retail experience was actually quite a pleasure, as Apple stores can be quite chaotic. Apple Georgetown is A-OK! read more

Honestly a seamless experience for me: I've been for the day-of releases of the new iPhone, and for Genius Bar reservations for AppleCare + non-Applecare repair requests. In terms of the hyped release, I've been dumb enough to wake up in the morning for my reservation window. Last one I got I selected a 9 AM window. Got there maybe 8:45 in line behind 20 people, and got in maybe 9:20. But once I was in, it was very quick to pick up and walk out. I will note there was a standby line that did have some movement, at maybe a quarter of the reservation line. In terms of Genius Bar it's always been straightforward for me. Every time I show up 15-20 minutes early, I've always been seen before my scheduled time. Honestly maybe I've just been lucky, because even out-of-warranty items like AirPods without AppleCare have gotten me some comp'd repairs or replacements. I don't think it's a customer loyalty thing, since I'm team PC. But the Apple Store team here hasn't done more wrong so I'll keep coming back. read more

The front sale rep had no idea Apple offers military discount and told us we must saw it on a third party site. I showed him Apple's official website with the discounted price of the new iPhone, then gave me a lame excuse why they don't offer it and I should order online instead. Walked into their flagship store at the Carnegie Library location and walked out with my military discount with no lame excuses. This store has no idea what they are doing. Went on a Monday at 1:30pm. Honestly I thought parking would be easier because it's Monday but let's be honest ... probably not because it's Georgetown. Soooo i drove around about 15 mins and then I saw a parking right in front of the Wawa which is in front of apple . Was kinda scared to park because no signs to pay or say how long you can but thankfully I was fine and there was another car parked there also. Went in : Went in and took about 5 mins to be greeted and asked what I need. Short white lady. Had a braid in. Bad teeth. Rude and short. Told her I was there to purchase a watch. She directed me to the watch table but couldn't sign me in for the line or tell me how long it be. Walked to the table and TRE I believe was his name. Very friendly and helpful. Quickly helped me. I was in and out about 20 mins I believe. I would go again but the lady that greeted it's a No. thank you TRE for your quick and helpful help. read more

Came in to get a battery replaced on my iPhone. Cost me $50+ and took ~1 hour. So far, so good. But when I get home I notice that the phone is now broken, in that it completely glitches out when I try to unlock the phone using my thumbprint. I effectively paid Apple $50+ to break my phone. Now when I try to call them about what to do next, their phone number redirects to a central support system. But they say they can't do anything and that I need to contact the store directly, which seems impossible. No clue what I'm supposed to do now. Came in to trade in some old headphones as Apple apparently has this thing where if you have headphones under warranty (1 year) they can trade you a new pair of headphones for free. I came in with two pairs. My first pair came from when I first bought my phone, so it didn't count, and the second pair, I've had for about 4 months and the volume was like shot& not even working in one ear. The guy Sunny (Sonny?) at the Genius Bar told me I couldn't trade in my first pair because they came with my phone, which was bought in 2016 (no big deal) and I couldn't do the second pair because I didn't have the receipt.... womp. I just ended up buying new headphones because I need them, but really Apple. Yal headphones are trash and you should do better. No need to hold the store employees to that though bc it's not really their fault. We chatted for a bit& he apologized, then his colleague checked me out& that was that. I'll make sure to hold on to this receipt though if these new ones give out on me early. I must say, the staff here is very knowledgeable about the products and stuff, which is great. I was on a quest for the Holy Grail (an adaptor). My trusty steed (VW GTI), Tyrion and I had traversed the known kingdom (NOVA) in pursuit of the elusive object, alas to no avail. Word reached us, through a magical rectangle, that the grail had been spotted in the town of George, in a store with an illuminated apple, across the mighty Potomac. We set in a course. Tyrion and I cantered down the street, and spotted a store with an apple on it. "This must be the one!" Our first test of worthiness was to drive around for a half and hour to look for parking. It was difficult, but we passed! The second challenge came in the form of endurance. To get back to the shoppe with the apple, I would need to go on foot, and wade through a sea of hipsters and important Washingtonians to reach my destination. There was a barrage of loud shoes, and fabulous hair, but I survived the harrowing journey, and arrived unscathed. Here's the really excellent part of the story. The gentleman who foretold the prophesy of the Grail (adaptor) through the magic rectangle (iPhone), had one put aside for me. I guess they have lots of Grails... I was greeted by a young lady with an effervescent smile, and shown right to my reasonably priced Grail. $29.99, 16.4 miles, and an hour later we were all set. The shoppe with the illuminated apple on it was friendly, efficient, accurate in their dissemination of information. I would recommend it for your next quest. read more

Misleading. They said they could fix my phone with My AppleCare. When I showed up they told me they actually didn't have the part and instead they wanted to replace my phone for $100. As opposed to my AppleCare deductible of $30. They said there was an error on the inventory about my replacement part. I took a halfday off work to come here and fix my phone. Totally misleading. Plus, (important) very little social distance outside. When I was there we were packed like sardines outside. I'll never come to this store. Terrible service. A waste of my time. I bought cases here pretty quickly the other day and I didn't think we had to go on "queue" or make an appointment to buy anything. I wanted to revise my review solely based on Lito. I went to the Apple Store today to pick up my pre ordered iphone and watch. The line up was pretty efficient but I do believe if someone is passed their timeframe by a significant portion of time, they should wait behind the others... just saying. Anyways, we originally had a different Apple employee help us, but this was when the system went down. Unfortunately, he told us he'd be back in 5 minutes but ended up paying attention to a completely different customer and I even saw him sell phone cases to this other customer. Honestly it made me a little frustrated to know that my s/o and I were not important enough for him to come back or even give us a status update. But Lito came to the rescue! He was friendly, extremely approachable, and was always willing to help. He even provided us with stools to sit on while we waited for the system to boot back up. That was extremely nice of him. Lito also checked his app constantly to see if it'd work, and even deleted the app and re-downloaded it to see if that was an issue. I honestly believe he went above and beyond, and what was once a frustrated customer was actually in a much better mood. Honestly, I've never had GREAT experiences at this Apple store- people were never as friendly, parking sucks, etc., but Lito was extremely accommodating, and made my experience feel so much better. I probably would have grilled this store on Yelp if Lito didn't come to the rescue. He should be promoted! Or at least give him an iphone XS Max for crying out loud!! Thank you Lito!! read more

Came in to buy a laptop, I knew which one I wanted but had a few questions about it. I checked online to see if you need an appointment before buying things. The website said you didn't but apparently you do here. They kept on tossing me around, telling me to wait, and after about a half hour I left. If you know what you want, I wouldn't schlep out to Georgetown to try to purchase something here. I think it's more of a showroom than anything, but they aren't really available to answer questions unless you want to wait for around an hour. Update: drove to Best Buy and was in and out in 10 mins! Have new laptop now. Just go there if you want to actually buy something. read more

I went to the Apple store in Georgetown today to have them replace the battery on my iPhone 6. I had 2 small cracks on the screen as well. The Apple store "genius" and his manager both claimed that Apple policy prevented them from replacing the battery without replacing the cracked screen, and the screen would definitely crack more when they opened the device to replace the battery. I requested to witness the opening of the phone and said that I would pay for the screen replacement if it did, as stated, crack more when opened. The manager refused to allow me to witness the opening of the phone, stating that it was Apple policy to prevent customers from viewing work being completed on their phones. GB wireless had no such restriction. They opened the device without adding additional cracks, but I opted to replace it as the cost was low. - less than half the price quoted by the Apple store. Apple "policy" appears to be to charge each customer as much as possible by requiring unnecessary services. They deserve all of the bad ratings on Yelp. read more

I visited this Apple Store to pick up my Apple Watch (I dropped it off to get a screen replacement). I was instantly greeted and helped upon walking in. The staff was very helpful and signed me in timely. Additionally, the staff walked me to the Genius Bar located in the back of the store. In roughly five minutes an Associate came with my Apple Watch. I was able to obtain it, pay, and leave shortly afterward. This Apple Store has been one of the best I've visited. read more

Don't fall for this tempting Apple. I brought my 2 1/2 year young MacBook Air, 2100 USD worth, in as it did not boot correctly after a software update. The "expert" at the Genius Bar only suggested to have it shipped off for repair, for 450 USD! Not only was my laptop returned to me in bad shape, they also kept my original motherboard and Touch ID, and replaced them with refurbished parts, something I did neither authorize nor was it necessary. Do you buy a new Porsche, just to pay for a repair after a total engine failure after only 2 1/2 years and it is obvious that your Porsche is a lemon? I do not think so. Same with Apple: If it turns out that you sold a worm-eaten Apple to your customer, you better offer a replacement free of charge, because you know that your reputation is on the line. Customers buy Apple, because they are willing to spend more money for a great product that lasts. Yet, Apple does not live up to this promise, a lot of glitz, but nothing but greed for profit behind it. Buy yourself a Dell, HP or Toshiba for less money, it will last longer, I promise you. Very happy with this store. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They do a good job of moving people through while still giving personal attention. The prices are the same everywhere so great service is important. I've purchased items at four different Apple Stores and this one is the best among them by far. They extended the 14 day refund for me when the iPad Air came out three weeks after I bought an older iPad version. Customer service wasn't as good as my first two visits but I'm very happy I was able to exchange for the iPad Air. read more
