I have eaten here many times and I've even done pickup, this is probably my favorite place in all of Texas. The lunch special is an incredible deal and I highly recommend it. We were a party of 6 and the service was wonderful!! The young lady that took care of us was very attentive--we never needed to look for her or ask--she was always there. Our chef was excellent!!! I've been coming to Atami for years with the kids and it's always a great time! The hibachi filet mignon will always be a craving for me. From the delicious seasoning to the soft and buttery texture of filet mignon fresh off the hibachi. (Love it.) The Hibachi Lunch menu is great. Today we ordered the Hibachi Filet, Salmon, and shrimp. Then we got the crab puffs. Everything is 10/10. Hot, fresh, large portion sizes, great service, great! Total bill was about $85. The food was pretty good and the chef did a great job. My beef is they added an 18% tip to my bill before presenting it. I did not notice it and added another tip. My credit card company notified me that I had left a 51% tip. Nowhere did I see that a tip would be added. read more

The service has always been consistently great, and I truly appreciate how well they take care of their guests. I'm especially a fan of their Lycheetini martini--so refreshing and delicious! We have been picking sushi at Atami ever Friday night for years. Recently they changed the black horse roll and started adding season salt to the salmon inside. Did not like it so stopped getting that. Now two weeks in a row the golden roll has this terrible pink and white imitation crab on top which is not nearly as nice as the white stuff they have always used. The food was pretty good. The Philadelphia roll,l and shrimp crunch roll were spectacular and the salad was very fresh. Unfortunately the soup didn't have much flavor and the fried onions (in the soup) were very soggy. The hibachi chicken had good flavor and the rice was typical. The grilled vegetables were overall flavorless. Our waitress was great. She was present, but not overly bombarding, and refilled my drink as soon as it was done. As for pricing, 3 sushi rolls for 15 dollars is a steal. An entire Hibachi meal (soup, salad, chicken, veggies, rice) for just $11 is great. Bummed about this review because it was very fixable. We came for hibachi and had a few vegetarians in our party, so we verified some things with our server. He confirmed that the hibachi vegetable was a vegetarian option. So far, so good. The hibachi chef arrived shortly thereafter and was entertaining as he made the fried rice. Then he cooked the shrimp, steak and chicken for the table. Then he put the vegetables on and used the juices from the meats as part of the seasoning for the vegetables. The vegetarians were disappointed, but did not say anything to the chef. The rest of our party was silently bewildered as to why one would start cooking vegetables after their protein. When the server returned, one person mentioned that they were disappointed with the preparation and asked for a separate side order of vegetables. The server also seemed confused as to why the chef would cook the vegetables after the meat. We asked the server to see if there was anything he could do, and it turns out, there was! He could shrug his shoulders and charge us full price for everything! Well played, Atami. You win this round...there won't be another. Booooooo. read more

Went the other night to Atami and was treated to the best hibachi Chef I have had the pleasure if dining with. Been to probably 20 different hibachi places before but Jessie was amazing. He was incredibly engaging, super friendly, was cracking jokes with us the entire time, and the food was great! We've been to Atami probably 10 times or so, and was always happy, but he took it to another level. Definitely ask for him if you dine here, you will be happy you did! read more

Took my colleagues for lunch. We have never been forced to share a table when I asked to be moved the manager would not allow. He was unfriendly and rude. The food was subpar, the hibachi chef was lack luster and they get coming to the table to see if we left yet. It was not a good experience and I'll never go back or take staff to atomi. Went here for my daughter's 18th birthday, and was very underwhelmed. Food was OK. The person cooking the food was not that entertaining and did a very quick cooking for us. They do not have Yum Yum sauce which is a big no-no for me. Sent back to sushi. I've been to a TON of hibachi restaurants and I must say, this one takes the win over them all. It's reasonably priced. They are extremely nice and they have a convo with you while doing the show. The waitress we had was spectacular! She would literally pop up and refill our drinks soooo fast! At one point I didn't even know I needed more water and BOOM! She was there to refill it for me. She made sure all our needs were met and that we had an amazing experience. Just that alone gives this place 5 stars. But the food was amazing! Perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned throughout. My daughter had the Black Forest Roll and said she loved it! Our hibachi chef was named Jesse, and HE was the highlight of our experience! He was so talented, quick witted, and fun to interact with! I used to love this place but has gone down hill. The font of the house is seriously confused and can't figure out who came first. The waiter assumed that we wanted Hibachi, didn't even ask. Seated four people first when the clearly started we were there first. The sushi was too damn big for Oscar the Grouch and it did taste right. Not sure who they were prepping for. They did get the hot sake right and the Eel bowl. Not sure what happened, but I am a bit sad. I hope it gets better read more

We love Atami but unfortunately for us we hadn't been since last year. However Thursday we went out to celebrate and had a wonder experience with the hibachi chef named Jesse! I would highly suggest you request him if you enjoy a good show with lots of laughs, entertainment, and good conversation! We still talked and laughed the next day about how much fun we had, and how delicious the food was! We all got the Atami special with a filet and it was so tender and delicious, of course the chicken and shrimp were perfect too. We have been coming here for over a decade and are truly disappointed with the ethics of this establishment today and will not be coming back. We always come for lunch- the price is half than dinner. We came at 3 pm and ordered our food, lunch hr ends at 4, which we even confirmed with the manager prior to arrival. We order our usuals, great meal but then we get our check. They had charged us for dinner hibachi (double the price) even though we ordered during lunch?? It's 3 pm... Apparently bc they put 2 shrimp on our plate that changed it the hibachi dinner.. we did not ask for the shrimp or hibachi dinner.. who gets dinner at 3 o clock..? When we asked the waiter about it, he pretty much just said sorry about your bad luck. We were a party of 6 on a Sunday afternoon. The place was not busy at all, there was literally no one there but they refused to seat us unless we had all 6 people there. When half of the party showed up they still refused to let us sit at a table. Anyways, food was okay. It wasn't anything special, we tried their sashimi, nigiris, a few rolls, the seafood Habachi, steak and chicken habachi, and also the vegetarian habachi. I do not normally write reviews but I have been going here for 6 years brought tons of people and constantly rave about this being the best hibachi in Katy tx. Today I had some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I set up a pickup order to be ready for 11:45am, placed the order online around 10:30am. I got to the restaurant at 12:10 and was told they did not have my order. I came back again to show them my phone and they mysteriously found my order which had not been made yet. I explained to the woman up front that claimed she was the manager at the moment that my order was supposed to be ready 45 min ago and she immediately got defensive with me and said she just received it 30 minutes after the order was supposed to be ready to go for pickup and as I was talking trying to explain the situation she ignored me and answered the phone in the middle of our conversation without asking me to hold on or any type apology for how long I had been waiting for my food. I stood and waited for her to finish and tried to speak with her again and she proceeded to ignore me and started talking to another customer behind me blatantly ignoring me to my face. I have never in my life been treated with such disrespect. As stated before I have been coming here for over 6 years and cannot believe how rudely I was treated today. The food here is always amazing and it's very unfortunate that I will no longer be bringing my business here or telling anyone about this restaurant due to my experience. A simple apology would have sufficed but to be blatantly ignored and disrespected in front of other customers is absolutely ridiculous and I will not be returning. read more
