Sando Satori is a Japanese inspired sandwich shop and it is my go to in Katy, Tx. This spot has such a cozy fun vibe resembling a bookstore, as it has a shelf wall that curves up to the ceiling. Books hanging down for the ceiling. Such a vibe for anytime of the year, especially for fall as it reminds me of Harry Potter. This spot is perfect for any weather to sip some coffee and eat a sandwich. You can study or work here, they have WiFi. Spacious spot with several tables and clean. I think this place is super cute and cozy. I love its simple design and charming décor. The food was delicious--from the Vietnamese coffee to the chicken sandwich. Although I didn't get to try the sweet sandwiches, I'm sure they're just as well made. Everything is prepared fresh, and you can definitely taste the quality. The only downside is that the restaurant smells like old grease, and unfortunately, you leave smelling like it too. I think better ventilation would make a big difference. My husband and I came for a day date and the staff were absolute jerks. We spent a good about of time there and order quite a few items. Great spot for Japanese sandos (sandwiches)! Both hot and cold sandos are available here. Spicy Chicken Katsu Sando - Appreciated that they cut the sandwich in half for convenience. Plus triangle-cut sandwiches taste better lol. The sliced Chicken Katsu pieces were thick, juicy, and super crispy. Amazing bread too, light and spongy, with the crusts cut off. Nice additions inside - the savory sauce had just a hint of spice and the shredded cabbage was crunchy and fresh. Mango Cream Sando - the cream inside was light and airy, with subtle sweetness. Paired well with the sweet and fresh mango. Great dessert sandwich to finish off the meal. For drinks, they have a large assortment of coffee, tea, matcha, soda refresher, slush, and more. We got the Ube Cream Coffee, which was one of their popular drinks (had a star next to it on the menu). The coffee itself was super rich, like classic Vietnamese coffee. Interesting twist with the Ube Cream on top. Fluffy and cloud-like with nice Ube flavor. I'm glad they gave a lot (1/3 of cup), since it was yummy and made the drink more creamy. Love the book wall, it goes up to the ceiling with floating books too. The interior gives such cozy vibes, especially with the dark wood tables and shelves. This place is located in katy nearby the 99 ranch. It used to be a kung fu tea and the interior looks the same as it was before. Their menu is pretty diverse and offer a bunch of different options. Sando Satori absolutely lived up to the hype. Considering everything was made fresh to order and we ordered 4 hot sandwiches plus 2 drinks, the wait time was honestly very reasonable. The drinks were fantastic. The strawberry matcha and cloud lavender matcha were perfectly balanced, not overly sweet, and you could still truly taste the matcha instead of just sugar. For the food, the ebi and chicken katsu sandos were incredible. Both came out hot, crispy, and packed with flavor, while the bread was unbelievably soft and fluffy. The egg sandos were also excellent, and I loved the addition of the soft-boiled eggs because it added both great texture and presentation. The biggest surprise for me was the strawberry cream sando. That thing was AMAZING. The bread was slightly sweet and different from the hot sandos, which made it pair perfectly with the cream and strawberries. Honestly, everything was so good that we completely inhaled the food before even thinking about taking photos. After you order, you wait to pick up your order at the cashier area. When you are done, you bus the table yourself. It's a very casual cafe. Love it when places don't charge an arm and a leg for literal sandwiches. We tried their collab at the poke shop in the heights and safe to say we will be coming to the brick and mortar to try the rest of the menu since they were out of so many things when we got there. Chicken Katsu (5/5)- chicken was crispy, juicy, tender. Sauce was delicious, bread was soft and airy, and the slaw complemented the sandwich very well. Shout out to Elite Yelper Sara I. for telling me about this place at her UYE. I decided to check this place out right after, as it was only 5 minutes away. Located at the end of a strip center, so the parking is shared with other businesses. There was a dumpster just next to the entrance. So there was an unpleasant smell when walking up. But I didnt let that deter me. There was only a few folks inside, so not busy at all. It's cutely decorated, with a cool 3d bookcase that looks like an art piece. It's got some cozy lounge seating for hanging out, and long tables for studying or getting work down. Service - was easy, order at the counter and wait at a table. My food came out hot, fresh out the fryer. Only waited 5 minutes. They had a good play list going. Food- I was torn between the shrimp & chicken sando. I asked for a recommendation from the server that rang me up. He said he doesn't eat much seafood, and he enjoys the chicken sando as its brinded over night with salt & sugar. The sando is made katsu style with chicken cutlet panko breadcrumbs, shredded cabbage, and a mayo style sauce, milk bread. It was decent. It's large caloric sandwhich of 700+ calories. It's my first time ever trying a Japanese Sando , so I didn't know what to expect. I ordered the fruit Sando and it was pretty good. The filling inside reminded me of whipped cream. The bread reminded me of white bread. I was expecting it to be a little bit more sweeter and on the milker your side. Also, I ordered a Brazilian lemonade. Sandi satori is a cute place to hang out or study. Inside it's designed with college algebra textbooks which is interesting. The chicken Sando was one of my top favorites. YIKES. Cool aesthetic, fun games but the restroom was disturbingly unsanitary and the Vietnamese coffee tasted like straight up chocolate milk. Amazing quality all around from the service to the drinks and the food!!! This spot replaced kungfu tea 3 months ago, so they're still gaining visibility. Please check them out!! They have an extensive menu that offers special items you can't find just anywhere! I was going to opt for the banana cream matcha latte alone, along with the katsu sando, but after seeing the Dubai chocolate matcha latte, I knew I needed to try both drinks lol. Right off the bat, the color of the matcha was very appealing & promising. I saw they hand whisk their matcha too. If you have a sweet tooth, the Dubai chocolate latte is a good choice. The "chocolate" tastes similar to Hershey's chocolate syrup, and the pistachio filling is actually really good. I got chunks of it throughout, and it reminded me of the real thing with its distinct flavor and texture. The banana cream latte was good, but I genuinely think it tastes even better when you let the banana foam seep into the drink. At first, the drink tasted like unsweetened banana milk, but as I let it sit, the flavors were marinating well lol. It had a nice balance between the banana and matcha flavors, and it's creamy! I ended up really liking this one. Now onto the food... once I received both of my drinks, I reminded the employee I was still waiting on my sando, and she politely informed me it was still being prepared as the Katsu Sandos are never premade and are always made fresh to order. I was like wow. I totally expected it to be served chilled for some reason. Then as it came out, she recommended I eat it right away, and I'm glad I did. It was extra hot. The bread is soft and the katsu is crispy and plump. Overall, the sando was super flavorful, and it wasn't dry at all. I'm excited to try their other sandos. She highly recommended the fruit ones. The interior is the same as I remember it to be. They kept the originality of it, which is neat since the bookshelf prominently contributes to their aesthetic. Very cozy and comfy. Great place to meet with friends and study or get work done. They sell handcrafted items up at the front too, making it quite personable. I was excited to learn that a Sando spot was opening in Katy and stopped by on a Saturday afternoon. It was busy but I didn't wait long and there was plenty of seating. They kept some of the decor of the old Kung Fu Tea while adding new touches. I got the strawberry sando and the chicken katsu. The cream of the strawberry sando wasn't too sweet but the strawberries were perfectly ripe. I appreciated that there were more cut strawberries in the back so it was very filling. The bread was fresh. The chicken was seasoned well and juicy! They really don't skimp on their sando filling! I had a small issue when picking up my order and I had to go back. Love that we're getting more sando places to try in the Houston area! They also have tea and lattes, making this a really neat cafe with delicious food. Tried the chicken katsu sando and it was perfectly battered and crispy. The matcha tiramisu was the exact lightness I love, the cream was very airy and had the matcha taste. The ladies at the counter are very sweet and kind. I love the atmosphere and the cool "bookshelf" placed high on the wall/ceiling. I would definitely enjoy coming here to study or do work. So delicious! We got the chicken Katsu sando as well as the strawberry cream sando and they were both amazing. The Katsu one is huge, my boyfriend and I shared it and it was more than enough. Although very aesthetic nothing was really worthwhile that would compel me to make the drive back to Katy just to come here. Overall a good experience. They have both hot sando, cold sando, and drinks. I got sando sandwiches to go. Chicken sando sandwich was delicious but because I drove 20 minutes before enjoying it, the bread got soggy and sticked to my teeth. However, it was the best out of the 3 sando I got. Mixed fruit sando is best served cold. It's delicious. Think of it as a mixed fruit Asian cake but even less sweet. I quite enjoyed it but wish they had added more fruits. Strawberry matcha is not bad but I would skip it next time. Matcha wasn't properly mixed so you can see and taste the matcha powder in almost every bite. Also, there's only a total of 3 strawberries - where you can mainly see the strawberries cut in the middle. The other side of the cut sandwich doesn't have any other fruits. The cold sando bread has a ham smell to it. I wouldn't go out of my way for it but not bad. They just opened and took over the former Kung Fu Tea. Plenty of parking and they do take Apple Pay. Sando are about $8-$10 so it's competitive to other locations. I would come here with a friend if we're nearby but I wouldn't say it's a good place to study since it's dark inside - it's more of a hanging out vibe. Friendly service by a young girl in the front. Hands down one of the best foodie experiences I've had recently!! The drive out to Katy was very well worth it. I had been dying to try some fruity sandos and I was definitely satisfied with it all! I tried the Egg Sando and Mango cream Sando... I enjoyed every single morsel of both sandwiches. Washed it down with a Brazilian lemonade that was so refreshing. My friend had the strawberry and the chicken Sando and said it was super hot, crispy, and delicious. She had a matcha latte with that and she said she found a good matcha for once.
