I ordered delivery. I was less than satisfied with my food. It was still hot, but the taste was less than appealing. I ordered chicken fried rice, kids General Tso and Viet egg rolls. The rice had a taste like old grease and the General Tso chicken was overcooked or old, it was very chewy. The egg rolls were the only good item. They have a nice selection of Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean and Japanese dishes. Every dish we ordered tasted exactly like it should have. That was disappointing. My husbands dish was zesty and full of flavor, all the rolls were awesome. We had to sent back my son's roll cause it wasn't made to our specifications the first time, but they were quick to make it right. The darling, soft spoken lady that served us was an absolute delight and we loved her right away. She was so helpful and cheerful and she made sure we were happy with everything. RAKUU is my go to food for delivery. I have never dined in but have had delivery numerous times. I have had the Vietnamese rolls, spring rolls and egg drop soup. My favorites are the Lomein with shrimp beef and chicken and the lettuce wrapped chicken. Today I had their California roll sushi. I wanted everything on the menu but decided on spicy garlic edamame, shaggy dog roll and chicken pad thai. The edamame lacked seasoning. Lots of garlic but it was missing something. That wasn't my only surprise... my shaggy dog was spicy only to find that it actually came with fresh jalapeños inside? I've visited this restaurant many times and often brought friends because I love their sushi rolls, and the sushi chef has always been fun and friendly. Dead sure my previous visit will be my last. I overheard a conversation between an employee and the old waitress who usually serves us, the chinese woman around 65-70 yo while I went to the restroom. She was saying things like how 'Black people are nasty,' how a 'Black woman complained there's a hair in her food to get free food when it's her own hair,' and how 'Black people like to steal.' I was shocked and could not believe what I was hearing. No matter how much I like the food, I cannot support a place where such offensive and racist comments are made. I was pleasantly surprised with my initial visit. While it is amidst Covid, masks were work by all staff and sanitizer was readily available. They also made sure they socially distanced each guest. I was joined by my hubby. Service was prompt and friendly. We tried the Vietnamese egg rolls- they were perfectly cooked and just the right crunch. We also had the combo fried rice and beef lo-me in, both were seasoned perfectly and had a burst of flavor. We tried the following rolls- Tiger Eye, Green Dragon and Rocket Roll.
