The service was friendly, which made for a welcoming experience. The food was decent--nothing particularly memorable, but satisfying. I didn't have a chance to try any of the drinks, which seem to be the main buy for most people. Unfortunately, the air conditioning wasn't really working during my visit, and condensation from the vent was dripping onto the floor.
Dude hands down the BEST restaurant in that shopping center,it has a cozy and nice ambiance. The staff was super friendly and welcoming especially for newcomers and regulars. The sandwiches were super fresh and well prepared, it was the most savory and amazing chicken sandwiches ive had in awhile,same with the salchipapas.Definitely would recommend the lemonade as well OMG its the freshest and godsent lemonade out there even coming from a tea lover i didn't expect to be that good and yes even my drink was super good and not overly sweet id totally recommend this place to anyone its perfect for dates
The food here never fails! This is the first time I'm able to post a review since I end up eating the food as I'm holding it on the way out. I ordered a Hot Mess and some Hot Popcorn Chicken. The Hot Mess is amazing! There's diced onions, the sauces and the cheese on the fries gives it a perfect chewy texture and the chicken is cooked amazingly. I didn't do it this time, but I usually add an egg on top and the portion is so large, I usually take it home and reheat it as a snack for the following day. The popcorn chicken was also super crispy! It was a bit salty this time but nonetheless, it tasted great. It also comes with a side of dipping sauce :)
Located in the popular Dun Huang Plaza in Chinatown, AtCha is one of many cafes in the area. I've had them on my list for some time and finally got the chance to try it out with some friends on a weekend. The hours are odd and they only open at 11:30. If you know that plaza, you know there's alot of parking, but it is pretty chaotic up in there. It almost took me 10 minutes just to leave the parking lot. Walking in, we were the first customers and had the place to ourselves for just a quick minute. Inside is nice and cozy with exposed brick walls and neutral colors. The menu is a little different than most when it comes to the drinks, so I was happy with the customer service and how helpful they were in explaining everything to us. Most of these cafes have food and drink, but AtCha has more unique items and lots of food choices. What they are known for is their Taiwanese style chicken and specialty drinks. I came in knowing I was going to get the popcorn chicken. If that's not your thing, they also have a popular chicken sandwich, egg sandwiches, noodle soup and fries. Like mentioned before, their drinks are unique. They have iced teas, lemonades, ginger beer drinks, specialty sodas, milk teas, yogurt based drinks, matcha drinks, cake foam drinks, frozen drinks and potions. Each category has unique flavor combos you don't see often at other places. It was one of the first hot days of summer and I was seeking something refreshing, not carbonated and no dairy. Nothing popped out to me to fit all my wants, but they suggested I get the Strawberry Green Tea Yogurt. To me, I figured it would be a dairy forward drink because of the yogurt, but they said it was yogurt flavoring. The drink came out first and it was everything I was looking for. Very refreshing and I could taste the strawberry and green tea. I added lychee gel just because. I would definitely adjust the sweetness level as it was almost too sweet for me. For food I got the Szechuan Hot Popcorn Chicken and asked for it to be extra spicy. It came out piping hot with one of their house sauces. It had what looked like thinly sliced green onions on top which was a pleasant addition to the hot chicken. The flavors were on point and it wasn't an unbearable spice level. It was a generous portion and shareable. Overall, this place did not disappoint. Right now they reign supreme in that particular shopping center when it comes to delicious drinks and light bites. I'll be back!
Heard of their sammies and wanted to give them a try since we were in the Dun Huang plaza. Their inner decor is really nice and innovative incorporating brick textures into murals and designs. Very homey space but not too busy of a design. Had good flow of customers but never felt too busy or loud. Had a few tables to sit down to eat their sandwiches but no large tables to post up for a study session. Personally I think it had an awkward "wet-rag" kinda smell which was a little off putting as I came here for a meal. I generally got over it after about 10-15 min before my food came out. Staff was otherwise super nice and helpful with deciding which sammies and fries to get. We ended up getting both sammies to split and the hot fries. Chicken had a good crunch and was made fresh. The hot chicken wasn't very spicy, but there were options of mild vs spicy and we got the mild. Their buns were buttery and nicely toasted. Slaw wasn't overly wet or saucy. Pepper chicken was light on the peppery taste. Fries had like a dry rub and also pretty mild for it being "hot". Overall the food was above average. Hopefully whenever we come back to try their boba, the smell will be a bit more welcoming.
I ALMOST went somewhere else for lunch the day I ate here. I am so glad that I decided to find my way here. AtCha is a place that I've had on my list to try for awhile. I didn't realize until I went in and saw the menu that I actually had some of their potion drinks previously at a festival. Remembering how good they were really helped me feel better about choosing here. 1 The staff was very helpful. I'm the type of person who's going to ask questions my first time eating somewhere and I appreciate it when someone can actually help me decide what to order. They have a number of different drink options and he was able to go over them with me before as well as after I ordered. Sometimes we eat with our eyes and I'm happy to say that before I tasted anything it all looked great! But great looks are for Instagram lol great tastes are for my stomach and great tastes is what they have. I got the Szechuan Hot Chicken Sammy, Regular Fries, an Iced Tea Lemonade and a Mana Potion. I got the Szechuan Hot Chicken Sammy on a regular spice level, added cheddar cheese and it was delicious. Since they use chicken thigh instead of breast it is a much juicier piece of meat than you usually get on a chicken sandwich. The coleslaw and pickles played very well with the sandwich and the pickles themselves were a bit of a standout on the sandwich. The Fries are Waffle Fries and had good texture on them. They were salted a tad bit too much but not so much that I couldn't tap them to knock the excess off. It came with a dipping sauce that reminds me of Canes sauce, which was good. It comes with long toothpicks, which I assume are to dip the fries with but I'm unsure. The Iced Tea Lemonade was cool for me. I got it with green tea and with Green Apple and Strawberry flavor add ons. I believe the green tea flavor wasn't my preference but I'm also not a regular green tea drinker. I likely should've ordered another of their drinks instead and likely will try something different on a next visit. This was by no means bad, I just don't think my taste palette is the target. The Mana Potion I ordered was one of the things I got knowing that I'd enjoy because I had it before. They offer 3 potions which all come with edible glitter. The glitter makes it cute but I can do without it, and as they are made to order I was able to have mine without it. The potions are served in nice portion-like bottles. The Mana Potion has a very sweet taste without being overly sweet to me. I actually ordered this to go because I knew I'd want it. I believe everything I had was made to order which is always nice and allows me to make changes. The sandwich and fries both came out hot of fresh. I literally watched the lady make my drinks so that was cool as well. The place also has a real nice audio and visual vibe. The decor gives a fun chill energy to it and given the area I was surprised when I heard chill hip hop/r&b playing. The bathrooms have a wrench on all the doors and idk if it's due to a handle issue or not but it looks dope AF. Actually, as I think about it, I'm pretty sure it's for aesthetics because all three doors have the exact same wrench. So it's a plus for me there.
Iced tea lemonade with green tea was quite delicious and right amount of sweetness at 25% sugar for this Asian gal. Taiwanese popcorn chicken had a strong fishy smell but not too bad at their price. It did leave a fishy taste. Interior is cute and charming with the little art pop up on their brick mural wall. Spacious and a great place to do your assignments or hang out with family/friends.
Stopped by on the recommendation of Yelp, and it did not disappoint! (This restaurant had the highest rating in the area) I ordered the spicy Szechwan popcorn chicken and they sell cookies from a local baker there as well. The chicken was good! A great value, definitely spicy. I ordered honey mustard on the side, but it came with spicy Mayo to dip as well. I rate it 4.5/5 because not all of the chicken was chicken breast. I felt like I was eating skin and fat at times too. But the flavor, portion, and crispiness were great!
The chicken sammy was so good!! This is coming from a person that doesn't like sandwiches because they're usually dry and lacking in flavor unless there are multiple condiment packets involved. If you like the traditional breading, fry and taste of the Taiwanese chicken steak that comes on a rice plate, then this is the Sammy for you. We tried both the hot chicken Sammy (reg) and the Salt n Pepa chicken Sammy (subbed with dry hot seasoning). Both were 5/5. Preference wise I preferred the Salt n Pepa, but I stared jealously at the slaw on the hot chicken. Neither were too hot for me, just a nice spice. The bread was soft and fluffy - just enough for each bite. The meat to bread ratio was good, with meat being more than bread. I will be back for more of these sammies. Shadow gold 4/5: I enjoy salted plum so this was a nice change from typical fruit teas. I ordered 50% sweetness but it still felt a bit sweet. I could taste the salty plum for sure but wish it was a tad bit stronger. Brown sugar oat milk wintermelon milk tea 3/5: this is a good and well made drink but just too sweet for my liking. May try 25-50% sweet next time as 75% was still overwhelmingly sweet. Sugar lovers, this one is for you! Wintermelon is already naturally sweet... add brown sugar and it's no joke! Popcorn chicken with dry hot seasoning 3/5: Interesting that I did not enjoy this as much as the Sammy. Can't place my finger on it. Everything came out piping hot and to order! Will come again for the Sammy for sure!
Compared to the franchised bubble tea spots in the same lot, Atcha feels like a completely different world. And frankly, that's part of the appeal for me. Their drinks, creative interior, awesome service, and the fact they're constantly trying new things makes me come back often. The cozy space is a nice casual setup with some solid photo worthy elements. I like the faux-brick backdrop with the Asian themed furniture, but I really love the "Ni Howdy Y'all" wall scribe, which is as hilarious as it is punny. The bathrooms are creative with the pipe wrench handles and I appreciate the free WiFi. The people traffic is not high, but the flow is good overall. I could see myself coming here often just to work or study. Drinks wise, it's a very interesting and different variety that goes beyond the usual milk tea, slush, etc. Instead they offer specialty sodas, ginger beer combinations, yogurt, matcha, and "potions." The shadow gold (kumquat, salty plum, jasmine, soda) has become a recent favorite, along with the blueberry ginger beer is excellent. I haven't had much of the food, apart from the loaded fries, chicken sandwiches, and popcorn chicken. They have had beef noodle soup and other random specials that either temporary, seasonal, or even experimental. Lastly, the service is always great. Edwin, the owner is truly a man of the people. The folks working here are always good about getting orders out quickly and do it with a smile. Whenever I'm in Dun Huang plaza, I always make it a point to come here and never come away disappointed.
Another addition to the Dun Huang Plaza next to Tiger Den and Aqua S. I initially came here just for the popcorn chicken but ordered 3 more drinks because of my gluttonous curiosity. All of their drinks are well thought out and formulated by a former bartender (now teatender?) Hot popcorn chicken - basically mini Nashville hot chicken bites! IMO spice level is 3.5 out of 5. A little oily but they don't skimp out on the seasoning. Dare I say their hot popcorn chicken might even be better than shops that specialize in hot chicken? Now I have to come back and try their sandwich to confirm. Pomegranate lime ginger beer - the perfect alcohol-free, carbonated drink after a carb heavy meal in Bellaire. If you ever tried Rachel's ginger beer in Seattle, this is reminiscent of just that except without the choice of added liquor :D Cold brew coffee - STRONG even the next morning after the ice melted. I got it without sugar so can't say if it's typically too sweet or not. I didn't get a chance to try Study Break but my friend thought it was very tart from the yogurt. Regardless, AtCha has other frozen drinks, tea, and ginger beer flavors for everyone's preference. read more
I was craving a chicken sandwich & since this place is new I figured I'll give it a try. I'll start by saying that the place is well kept & the service is spot on. I decided to order their hot chicken sandwich & a jasmine milk tea as my drink. The wait time is about 10-15 minutes which is a good thing because it's made to order. Alright so I thought my sandwich tasted amazing, it was full of flavor, juicy, nicely coated, great crunch, good amount of spice & everything went well together. It had that mixture of Nashville hot along with a Taiwanese flavor to it, which made the sandwich stand out. I also enjoyed the bun (brioche) & the sauces that they put in there. On the other hand my tea was alright, it wasn't strong & kind of watered down. They are still new with making tea/milk teas so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. During my meal, the owner came by to check on everyone, she asked if I've tried their ginger drinks which I haven't so she made one on the house; that was so nice of her. I got to taste their pomegranate lime ginger, it was a unique drink & it went well with the sandwich. The ginger wasn't too overpowering & had the right amount to enjoy. Overall this place exceeded my expectations & I just want to say thank you to Ed (owner son) & the owner for their hospitality. I'll definitely come back. Definitely could not resist trying a new snack spot in Chinatown! When I heard about a new hot chicken sandwich, I knew I had to give it a try! As a Tennessee veteran, I definitely consider myself a connoisseur of hot chicken. Chicken sandwich is a must at AtCha!! The Hot Chicken Sandwich tastes like an Asian twist of the traditional Nashville hot chicken. I tried both the Hot Chicken Sandwich and the Salt N Peppa Chicken sandwich at this spot. Hot Chicken Sandwich is an easy winner. Flavor is leaps and bounds better than the other one. The fried chicken does have a large amount of batter, but it gives you a nice crunch. As for the drinks, I tried the AtCha Ginger Beer, but I really don't get the hype. It just tastes like extra fizzy Sprite to me. Overall, AtCha is a great spot for trying delicious snacks! Decided to swing by here after reading a lot of hype on Yelp and Facebook. Same owner as Aqua S, so come here first if you want to satisfy your hunger before some ice cream! If you're getting to-go, packing is super robust and sturdy, so you don't need to worry about any of the food making a mess during the trip home. The hot chicken sandwich was definitely a WINNER! It came out extremely crispy and was seasoned perfectly. This wasn't the standard Nashville hot chicken flavor if you're used to that; it's more of a mix between hot and salt & pepper, basically a Taiwanese twist. Of course it was still topped with coleslaw and pickles (cheese is an extra $1) and the bun was perfectly toasted. This was a hefty size for $9 and can definitely be enough for a meal in itself. There was literally nothing wrong with this hot chicken sandwich, it was just so perfect I'm drooling thinking about my next one. I also got the regular popcorn chicken (not hot), which was a decent snack size for $5, which includes dipping sauce and skewers for snacking. In my opinion, these were a little too salty and had me thirsting for a couple hours afterwards. However, the hot flavor might be a little better in terms of flavor; mainly just wanted to compare the flavors between hot and regular between the sando and popcorn chicken. Overall I'd say this place makes one of the BEST hot chicken sandwiches in the city! Definitely come here if you're not feeling the lines of the multitude of other hot chicken joints around the city, or if you just want a slight change from the standard Nashville hot flavor. Didn't get to try the ginger beer this time, but hope to get that next time with my sando! read more

New place next to AquaS in bellaire that I went and explored two weeks ago. The interior is very cutely decorated, and kept clean. They offer different flavoured ginger beer (non-alcoholic) drinks and you can add toppings in them too. We tried popping boba, but personally would get jelly toppings because the popping texture doesn't mesh well with fizzy ginger beer. Also, ordered their Taiwanese "popcorn" chicken style fried chicken sandwiches. The salt and pepper, and spicy. The sandwiches were generous portions, but I could do without pickles. The crispness was there and flavours came through. Will order again! The only reason I'm giving four stars is because there is no way to reduce the sugar level in the ginger beers and one of the drinks was really sweet! read more

Been wanting to try and support this Taiwanese influenced fast casual restaurant! Owner Martina was super nice and she also has many other business ventures in the industry. We got the spicy chicken sandwich Which was like Taiwanese fried chicken flavors mixed With Nashville hot chicken sauce. Chicken was crispy but the bread may get a little soggy if you were to eat it for togo. But great seasoning on the chicken and nice kick to it! I really liked the strawberry yogurt green tea! Really refreshing and tart. Need to come back to try the ginger beers. The inside had a good amount of seating and parking with within the plaza. read more
I'm a huge ginger beer fan and love those made in UK and Australia. Went to Aqua S for pandan soft serve but they don't have that flavor. So walked next dooe to Atcha, used to be a sushi place. Surprised to see they have ginger beer and ordered pomegranate lime with crystal boba for $6. Crystal bobas are different from the tapioca ones as they are made with jelly. Refreshing and light. I'd ask for less sweet next time. Cute interior and friendly staffs. read more

Stopped by because I had an hour of down time to get some work done. This place was surprisingly empty on a Saturday afternoon, but I guess not that surprising considering the 1000 other tea places to choose from in the same plaza and down Bellaire Blvd. The owners are super kind, and recommended the matcha vanilla latte. It didn't blow me out of the water, but it was pretty solid in my opinion! You could taste the matcha and the sweetness was at a good level even though I didn't adjust it. The interior is super cute and I think it makes for a good study environment - the music wasn't too loud or disruptive. I didn't get to try any of the food options but it seems like they have a good selection. read more

Generally a good place to try. Not sure what their theme is...maybe modern steam punk? Their selection is definitely unique. I did not like their celery ginger beer, but people who like ginger will probably enjoy it. Their cherry yuzu soda was all yuzu and no taste of cherry. But once again, I get the impression that if you enjoy yuzu sourness, this is a decent option. The rose matcha tasted lovely. I think some might find it too sweet, but I liked the sweetness level. read more

I found this place on Yelp: I'm always on the hunt for a good Nashville Hot Sandwich. I bookmarked this to try later with my beau. Last night, It was very unexpected how packed the plaza was upon arrival but there's a parking garage not far away that you're able to park in. Inside is very cute. Bright Colors. The menu is very simple. Chicken sandwich or popcorn chicken. Spice level to vary. We got the Hot sammie. Popcorn chicken. And salt and pepper fries. Salt and pepper fries are really good. The hot sandwich can get really messy to go but it was good. The spice level is between medium and high. I used a lot of napkins. The crisp is so good. There is a sweetness to the chicken on the sammie and the popcorn chicken that isn't for me but it's something different. Also the owner, Edwin super nice and hospitable! Chatted with us a bit while picking up our food. This is their third shop. They own the Aqua, the ice cream shop, next door and the ramen shop next to that. I definitely plan to make my way to ramen shop. Stop by for some heat and cook off with some ice cream next door! read more
They do not skimp on portions. It was so big, I had to share. Got the Szechuan hot chicken sandwich regular spice. I didn't feel the hit of spice, but outside of that a great sandwich. The chicken was very moist. The slaw complimented the chicken perfectly along with the buttery bun. The star of the show though, hot mess fries. Highly highly recommend getting these fries, they're loaded. read more

Atcha is a food and drink spot in Chinatown's Dun Huang Plaza. They offer a variety of snacks (chicken sandwiches, popcorn chicken, fries) and refreshing ginger beers with different flavors (original AtCha, tropical, blueberry, strawberry, pomegranate, sweet cherry, celery). I got the AtCha Ginger Beer ($5.75) and it is definitely up there in price point, but it was pretty good and refreshing. Can't wait to go back and try the food items on the menu! read more

First off. I have to say the owners are amazing human beings. Kind and always asking for our suggestions and what we like or don't like. All business's could learn from Martina and Edwin, they always put their customers first. Next the drinks. They are always coming up with new drinks and they have something for everyone. Tea. Check. Fruity drinks yes. Soda style drinks yup. My personal favorites is the rose matcha tea and vanilla matcha tea. They use real ingredients , no bs here. My wife loves the shadow gold soda drink. She loves the salty plum. The originality and ingenuity of the drinks really set the bar high. Edwin is always cooking up something new in the lab. Next is the food. Do you like seasoned popcorn chicken? How about hot chicken? Both? Do you like dipping your chicken in chili oil or creamy sauce? Then you came to the right place. No business in Texas can beat atcha's popcorn chicken. I shit you not. It's my favorite of all the boba shops in houston. Deff try the Taiwanese chicken or hot chicken. Their chicken sammie is on fleek too. My wife lovessssss their Biria beef noodle soup. She usually orders that or this little treasure called "the hot mess" which is a combination of popcorn chicken, waffle fries, gooey cheese, and all the fixings combined into something glorious. Ni Howdy indeed y'all. Last is the ambiance. It's a cool little place located in the dun huang plaza. The decor is on point and has bright lights and has a nice homey vibe to it. If you were todays years old when finding out about this spot then you need to do yourself a favor and go here. Go here now! read more

Nashville hot popcorn chicken ! Yes you heard that right. I came here and was blown away from their menu. So much variety. The customer service was on point because the cashier was able to explain the whole menu. Very friendly also. I ended up getting two items. The hot chicken fries which were amazing and also the popcorn chicken that I mentioned. Their X factor was the homemade honey mustard looking sauce. The hot mess fries.... I did not expect to enjoy this entree as much as I did. It was absolutely DELICIOUS...BUSSIN....&,Unf*ckwithable! The chicken pieces, very flavorful, spicy & fried to perfection. Edwin, before you decide to attack a customer based on their findings, maybe you should learn how to take criticism and build a better business then talking mess to a customer so that MORE customers can see your actions and embarrassing childish rants . You advertise yourself as a tea shop and then say you are not a traditional boba tea shop.. do you know what "Cha" means? It means TEA or TEA EXPERT. Then to say you don't care what the community thinks is another laugh because without the community - your business would not grow or survive. Who do you think are your customers? Casper the ghost? Maybe it is because that's why your store was empty on a Saturday night and why I left to Gong Cha shortly after to get some better boba. Grow up. "You picked the three most basic items.." then went on to say it's your top seller LOL so which is it? I picked the three most basic items yet it still fails to meet expectations. You can google yourself good vs bad quality tea and base metrics on that. Metrics are on the freshness and taste of tea. Your tea was not fragrant, nor flavorful and tasted dull. Your store is useless and taking up space in Dun Huang Plaza. The only cringe one is you and your rant. Imagine a "grown" business man crying like a little girl because of what someone wrote lol. My friend and I got the Hot Mess chicken fries and they were soooooooo good. We were craving some fried chicken and French fries and the waffle fries at AtCha hit the spot! I also got the Jade Tiger drink and the subtle matcha with the yuzu flavor paired perfectly with the Hot Mess. Highly highly recommend AtCha. The workers are super friendly and they really care about each customer. The interior is also really nice and cozy, perfect for studying or reading a book. 10/10 for me read more
Came here on a whim while searching through yelp for something good to eat in the area I was in. I immediately was attracted to this place because of the pictures of chicken sandwiches and popcorn chicken. Upon entering though, we were overwhelmed by a really bad smell. It smelled like their bathrooms were backed up or something. I almost walked out, but decided to just get some food to go because I really wanted to try it and we were already there. We ordered the Hot Mess, Popcorn Chicken (spicy and regular), and a side of fries. Thankfully the wait wasn't that long, but I ended up leaving my husband to wait for the food because the smell was awful. Eating the food in the car- Hot Mess was amazing and a must try. It's on the spicier side and I think it makes a great sharing dish. Both popcorn chickens were crispy and flavorful! I wasn't a fan of their sauce, tasted like it had ketchup. I really liked that their to go containers vent so that your food doesn't get soggy. The two ladies up front were helpful and patient. I really wish I could have enjoyed our meal sitting down, but couldn't get past the awful smell. I don't know if it's always like that, or if they were having some sort of issues with the building but the smell is the only reason I wouldn't go back. read more

My friend had recommend the sandwiches from this place because she works nearby and I had come to visit her. I had faith in her recommendation and it was worth it. Stepping in the place looked very calm and they had cute wall art. Not much seating space but typical of the stores nearby. The employees were really nice and the vibe overall was very chill. I had ordered the hot chicken Sammy in extra spicy of the shezwan. It took around like 12-15mins to get ready but boy was it worth it. The chicken was so juicy and the flavor on it was very nice. There was also like a slaw type thing on top of the chicken and it was the component that led to the perfect balance to the spicy flavors. The food just felt so fresh which added to the experience. I love this place! All of their food options are so good and their drinks are as well! I LOVE the beef soup, it's such a good dish! The fries are amazing as well! They make the food come out really fast, and the decor is so cute! There are so many places to sit inside and I love the cute painted animals all over the restaurant. All of the staff are great as well! I definitely recommend this place for food and bubble tea while exploring the area. read more
Our first time here: We got the jade tiger and the peach solstice and green tea yogurt. Everyone like the drinks, nicely balance and very refreshing. Service and decorations are 10/10! We love the art and detail that went into the design of the place. Second time: we came back to try the chicken sandwich. We got the salt and peppa chicken sandwich with cheese, the seasoning is great. Gives a homey Chinese herbal fried chicken dish, very crispy and has a good balance. We will definitely try the hot sandwich next time, I think that one should have a kick to it. While the salt n pepper one is more regular chicken sandwich. We also got the celery ginger beer, love how gingery it was plus I can get the hint of celery at the end! Very different compares to all the other boba places on the area. Came by to check out their drinks, we got the iced matcha latte and the shadow gold. Matcha latte- 9/10 it is on the sweet side so if you don't like that I would recommend getting it less sweet but it was perfect for me. I do wish there was a bit more match flavor. Shadow Gold- 8/10 Hubble said it could be a little more salty but overall good. Fruit tea- 10/10 apparently they make their fruit syrups in house and you can definitely taste it. Would come back just for this. Delicious Overall it's a cute little boba place, we will be back to try the hot chicken sammy. read more

Was driving in Dun Huang Plaza to get a late lunch today, and remembered reading some raving reviews about the Hot Chicken Sandwich at this new beverage spot, so I decided to give it a try. I appreciate that the sandwich is made with a lot of care, the spiciness grows more intense as it goes but still very manageable. It's a huge sandwich, I'm glad they offer to cut it in half for me. They also recommend including Cheese which adds to the flavor and extra texture. I also got a Blueberry Ginger Beer (non-alcoholic) with a minimum sugar level. I enjoy the carbonated ginger beverage. This is the first Hot Chicken Sandwich that I've tried, I wonder what my dear friend John Nechman would think since he has more experience. The place is very nicely decorated, I enjoy dining in which I think is the best way to eat the Hot Chicken Sandwich that's made freshly from the kitchen. read more

BEST. CHICKEN. SAMMIE. IN. HOUSTON!!! My wish has finally come to fruition. My favorite snack, Taiwanese popcorn chicken, in the form of a hot chicken sandwich. What differentiates AtCha's sammie from Nashville Hot Chicken sammy establishments is the crispy exterior of the chicken. I don't know what they do to create that extra crispness but they have nailed down all my expectations for a perfect fried chicken sandwich: (1) Their chicken was sooo juicy and did not taste dry at all. (2) The coleslaw and their special sauce are a great pairing. (3) The Brioche bun is my ideal bun. Not to mention, (4) AtCha's hot sammie (the size of my hand) costs $9, which is cheapest hot chicken sammie I could find in Houston. They also have a non spicy Taiwanese chicken sammie option for $8. In my opinion, this tops most fried chicken sammie establishments in Houston. As for the drinks they offer, they specialize in ginger beer and other fizzy drink offerings. If ginger beer is your cup of tea try it out. Otherwise, GET THEIR SAMMIE. YOU WONT REGRET IT! read more
I've been eyeing this place for awhile and I was thinking oh, it's another boba shop because of the name. I saw people posting on fb about their experience (perfect way to advertise since this place don't really have a social media presence). Went there for lunch on a Friday and it was pretty empty. We got their salt and pepper chicken sandwich and "hot" fries. The sandwich was huge (only ate half and took the other half home). The fries weren't spicy at all. The sauce had a kick to it but I was expecting spicy fries with some type of red seasoning. After my visit, I saw someone post on fb that they got an order of hot fries and it looked completely different from mine. So I paid for something that I didn't get. Also, I didn't realize that my drink was a carbonated drink until the staff member advised not to shake it. So fair warning if you're not into carbonated drinks - you should definitely ask if they have alternative options. read more

We decided to come here on a whim since we feeling adventurous and couldn't say no to a new boba place. Based on the name, we thought this place would have a focus on matcha, but after looking at the menu, it was obvious that this was not. The cafe is very clean and has a very unique, rustic, and hip Asian flair to it. There is a good amount of seating areas for groups and the music is not too loud, so it would make for a great study or work location! The drink options are somewhat smaller for a "boba" location in Bellaire, but honestly that's a great thing. It allows the business owners to focus on really making good drinks. The menu was full of really interesting drinks (ginger beers, soda drinks, coffee) that it was hard to make a decision. The employee recommended the Tropical Ginger Beer and when he described that it had mango and guava flavors I was sold. My fiancé went to her go-to, the fruit tea. Both drinks were very solid! The Tropical Ginger Beer has a significant guava and mango flavor without being too overpowering or sweet. The ginger came out strong with a kick at the end which I love from any drink with ginger in it. The fruit tea was really refreshing, not too sweet, and even had fresh fruits in it. The boba itself was also cooked perfectly. They apparently also have really good hot chicken and other snacks, so we can't wait to come back and try them. TL;DR: If you're in the mood of something other than traditional milk tea, especially if you're into refreshing drinks or lactose intolerant, I would give this place a try! read more

Is the chicken/meat halal?
No we don’t use Halal chicken however besides bacon in our cowboy egg sammie and the option to add bacon we don’t use pork in anything else at the moment.
