I think in Houston we have to specify what kind of crawfish we're talking about, because everyone has their preferences. This is real Louisiana style crawfish; not the Viet Cajun style which is heavily sauced on the outside. There is NO sauce on the outside and no flavor options; but the taste is delicious! Now I won't lie, I do prefer Viet Cajun style, but this was a great alternative. I found the prices to be pretty reasonable compared to other popular crawfish places in Pearland. They were out of shrimp so I couldn't try that, but the crawfish was well seasoned and juicy inside. I would have preferred more boil juice in my bag so I had some to dip in, but next time I know to tell them. Same thing with the mixed bag; I think there should have been some boil juice in the bag because it was kind of dry. But the corn was so sweet and that sausage!!!! Omg. I don't know what kind of sausage they use (tasted like deer maybe?) but it was soooooooooo good and HUGE for the price you pay. Now, be careful. The hours shown on Yelp aren't correct. I went on a Wednesday afternoon when Yelp said they opened at noon. Got there at 1pm to be turned away and told that they don't open until 2pm. No problem, I didn't mind waiting. Pulled over to the side of the road so I wasn't blocking their driveway, and at about 1:15, a truck pulled in. Shortly thereafter, another car pulled in. Around 1:20, I saw someone coming out to take their orders, so I pulled in behind them. After the first couple orders were put in, a manager came to my car to tell me that they could take my order, but it would be a little bit of a wait since they don't open until 2pm. I had no problem with this, but why didn't they say that when I first pulled in?! i was waiting first and they let two cars get ahead of me. Hmmmm... Anyway. Ended up getting my food around 1:35p, so it wasn't a terrible wait. I would come back and get the crawfish, the shrimp, and another mixed bag! read more

Came here and got in line right when they opened, I was second in line and by 11:07 there was a line down the street! I got 2 lbs of crawfish and a lb of shrimp, it seemed a bit over priced for me BUT the bugs and shrimp were cooked to perfection! The flavor was there! I pulled up on a Sunday afternoon and there were 9 cars ahead of me. I did a rough estimate of the timing and they seemed to spend about 2-3 minutes per car so in all my visit took about 20-25 min. Not too bad. When I pulled up a woman wearing a banana clip in her hair and a red Atchafalaya T-shirt greeted me and took my order. She was the sole person taking everyone's orders. You tell her what you want, she hollers it back to the folks inside and rings you up on a wireless credit card reader using the clover app. 3 lbs of Crawfish, a mixed bag with 1 corn cob, 3 red potatoes + a tip came to $28.49. $6.99/lb crawfish, $3.50 mixed bag + tip. The crawfish came in a double plastic grocery bag inside of a brown paper bag. The mixed bag was fixed atop the double bagged 3 lbs of crawfish. It was all well packaged and made for a super easy clean up when I was finished eating. The crawfish were a decent enough size. I noticed the big boys were more on top of my pile and the smaller ones were at the bottom. Nonetheless, I was able to get a decent sized bite out of all the crawfish. I liked the seasoning and greatly appreciated that it wasn't too spicy. I don't like my crawfish so spicy that it burns my lips. This crawfish had a very tiny bearable burn that left once I was well-through my crawfish and was quite flavorful. I'm glad I finally tried out Atchafalaya after driving by it all the time and before the end of crawfish season's peak. The line moves quickly so don't let it intimidate you from enjoying this yummy drive thru crawfish spot and getting your season fix. read more

Whenever I want some crawfish and I know it's going to hit the spot, I come to Atchafalaya! They literally never miss! They're located in Pearland and it's a drive and go spot so you have to order to go. Because of the popularity, the line on the street can get a little backed up but it's worth it! They have crawfish, boiled shrimp, corn and potatoes and are usually priced well. They also have extremely good customer service. I will say some days I feel like they crawfish could've sat in the juice a little longer but regardless it's always a hit for me! read more

Quick Service, Friendly Staff and Delicious Crawfish! I wish this location was a little bit closer to my home however, I am so happy that I took that drive to check them out for the first time . When I arrived, there was only two cars in front of me. The service was pretty quick, that I waited only less than five minutes to place my order. When I got my order, the crawfish was hot and even after my 30 minute drive back home, my crawfish remained hot. The crawfish were large in size extremely juicy and seasoned well.. I most definitely would recommend everyone to try out this crawfish spot. The only cons about this place is that they don't have any like sit down areas which would be nice and they also don't have any butter . PERFECTION! I grew up in Lafayette La, later moved to Avoyelles Parish. if you don't know, that's pure Cajun country. This place boils crawfish the way I had it in small town cafes and backyard crawfish boils - the seasoning is in the water, not dumped on top after cooking so seasoning goes all the way through. Prices are reasonable. And the boiled shrimp is outstanding too. I bought extra to put in pasta or maybe some shrimp salad. To-go only. Well i gave them 4 stars a few days ago based on the crawfish i had last year. Sorry to say that we were very disappointed with the crawfish we got yesterday. First let me say that I have been eating crawfish for 40+ years. I have cooked hundreds of pounds and have eaten many others as well. I know good crawfish. They should be tender,come out of the shell easily and the meat should not be mushy and brownish ,but firm and light colored. They should not be overly salted or overly spiced. Too many times the cook adds so much salt based seasoning that you can't taste the flavor of the meat and then you have to take a blood pressure pill. Lol. Unfortunately a lot of people have never had top notch Crawfish so there will be many objections to my review. Hopefully Atachfalaya will bring back the cooking standards of prior years. Perfectly seasoned, just the right amount of spice, and the bugs are sizeable this season. There isn't a ton of parking here, but you'll figure it out for this. It's worth it. We got here on a Saturday afternoon and there was a 10 minute line. We got 6 lbs cooked, but next time, I'd be very tempted to go for a sack. They did run out of potatoes and corn, and only had the mixed bags which are a little expensive. We managed to get the food home still hot and couldn't wait to dig in. Prices for the cooked crawfish are really reasonable, comparable with HEB. This is a must if you're looking to do a small boil without all the effort. read more

I went based on the great reviews. I got there and there were four cars ahead of me. It took about 20 minutes for me to get to the front of the line. When I got there, they ran out of food and told me it'll be about 25-30 minutes for my 10lbs of crawfish, corn, and potatoes. I waited 40 minutes before they brought it out. This was by far the worst crawfish I had ever had. They smelled horrible, like fish & sewage combined, but heavy on the sewage. They were dirty, flavorless, & dry. I do not recommend at all. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but it was so disappointing that I am not willing to give them a second chance. Horrible crawfish. read more
