    Blackened Alligator

I have been several times both the Kemah & Baybrook location previous times it had been average but this time the food was good, felt bad we came in closER to closing time, however Lacy was incredible, wasn't sour and happy to serve us. Great recommendations, I had etoufee and alligator def did not disappoint.

    Amazing gumbo!

It's been a while since I've been able to come by crazy Alan's. I've always loved their dark reaux gumbo that they have here. But today I was in town since we moved away. I haven't been able to get my gumbo fixed now that we're back in town. I decided to stop by And I don't know what they've done but it's been kicked up a notch and the service was amazing. I sat at the bar today, which is very unusual for me, but it was just me by myself so I thought I'd stop by. The bar keep; Harmony was pleasant, beautiful, and just amazing and made sure that my lunch was extra special when she noticed that I was by myself. I don't know who hired her, but when I had my restaurant back in the day, I wish I had a restaurant full of people like her to not only make people feel special and welcome, but also to take care of the customer and take care of the restaurant. Best interest. It was clean and hospitable, and the ambience was classic, Crazy Allen's!

Sautéed spinach.. best thing on the menu and cup of gumbo

Came here after church with family Memorial Day weekend. I didn't have much of an appetite so I ate a cup of soup with sautéed spinach and ate some of the crawfish pistolette app that my family ordered. The food was very flavorful and at a good price. Our server was very friendly and helpful and the restaurant's ambiance was that of a casual Cajun restaurant, deck with bayou decor.

    Animal cruelty

Alligator housed in absolutely ridiculous and cruel conditions. Lets all gather around the glass box with a live animal trapped inside and enjoy our dinner... the gator doesnt even have proper lienear UVB needed to grow, the cube it has lived in for over 6 years is so small. So sad. The food was good but not worth supporting this. I wish i could just speak with the owner about proper husbandry for an animal like this! It needs a zoo exhibit not a box.

    Extra spicy crawfish

We LOVE this place! We love the one in Kemah as well. The place is always clean and the food is great! We haven't had bad service ever and we go there a lot. We usually go for crawfish and they never let us down! Extra spicy, sausage, and potatoes! Always a favorite

Tater tots (delicious) and frog legs (delicious).

Not sure why so many negative reviews but we had a great experience. I usually try to not judge but when the hostess said she would be taking care of us, I was immediately discouraged...BUT, she was absolutely outstanding. Every single recommendation she made was spot on...anyways....got a link of boudin for appetizer and it was de-lish and had a ton of heat. I ordered the tater tots (yes, potatoes that she called tater tots) and frog legs. I asked if they were cooked to order and YES. They were so good that I got another order. I do realize it was an early meal and we chose a lighter fare, but this experience will encourage me to come back in the future.

    Fried shrimp and oysters.

You know a place screams laidback when it has something positively out of the ordinary. The first thing to greet me when I walked in here was a Christmas tree festooned with Mardi Gras decorations. And since the restaurant is devoted to Louisiana fare, it presents a dive bar-like atmosphere, which I think is pretty cool. So, for the last meatless Friday of the 2022 Lenten season, I went for the 3X3 fried shrimp and fried oyster meal with fries and cole slaw. The shrimp was succulent, the fries were plentiful, and the cole slaw was creamy good. However, the oysters were hit or miss. While nicely cooked, I wasn't feeling the flavor. I thought to myself that I prefer raw oysters. But I really liked the food overall. During a trip to the restroom, I caught a glimpse of the aquarium near the front entrance and saw a real live alligator. The somewhat little guy didn't move all that much, but was still a draw.

Lots of trees were killed in this photo (papertowls)

Jacob and Matt took exceptional care of us and made our experience so much fun. Their energy, attentiveness, and hospitality were unmatched. We started with a dozen raw oysters and a half dozen Oysters Bienville, and baby... when I tell you they were to DIE for! Fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I ordered the Chef's Special: Linguine Alfredo with shrimp and crawfish, topped with fried red snapper, served with green beans and garlic bread. Whew! Every bite was seasoned to perfection. My wife ordered the Salmon Latiffe with Brussels sprouts and rice, and it was BOMBBBB. Cooked perfectly and full of flavor. And of course, 4 reposado tequila lemon drops later, we were having the time of our lives! The drinks were amazing, the food was phenomenal, and the service was exceptional. Overall, this was an incredible lunch date with my wife. Amazing food, amazing drinks, and even better service. We will absolutely be back! 10/10 highly recommend.

Disappointed by the lamb lollipops, it's criminal to drown them in what tasted like teriyaki sauce straight from the bottle. Nonetheless, Abby our server was great and is one of those people that just seems happy to be alive! Mike: Hands down coming back here for the gumbo and drinks! Oysters were good, but they went too fancy on mignonette sauce, stick with simple red wine and shallots. Favorite was the crab and asparagus! Abby was amazing as well!

I've been wanting to try Main St. Bistro, so when my sister suggested it for Easter, I was down. We had a party of 7 (5 adults, 2 kids). We got there around 1:00 on Easter Sunday & didn't have to wait long even though it was busy. A man took our drink order. My brother-in-law asked to go ahead & order two appetizers. Our waitress, Natalie, came shortly after, introduced herself & confirmed the appetizers. We were brought 4 small cubes of banana bread, which felt weird since there were 7 of us. My toddler & my niece both had a whole one. The other two were split between 4 adults. My brother-in-law didn't have any. The appetizers came out fairly quickly & were gone just as fast. We finally ordered right at 2:00 after a little wait & indecisiveness. Then my son was done sitting in a highchair. My husband and brother-in-law took the kids outside. They played for a bit & walked two laps around the whole strip center. They came back, still no food. My son had a complete meltdown since he was both hungry & now tired, my brother-in-law asked if there was any way they could just rush my son's food. They did and he started eating, everyone was so hungry that they had some bites of his food as well. My mom went to ask the manager if our food was close to being ready. The answer was no, there was a whole list of orders ahead of ours. The manager was kind enough to bring us some spinach dip & apologized for the wait, explaining she was dreading today because the kitchen wasn't equipped for the Easter crowd. She assured us that they were working as fast as possible & we appreciated her honesty & effort. My mom went to her car & asked us to let her know when her food came. Our food finally started arriving at 3:17, and not all at once. My sister's meal came last. By this time my son was done & was getting restless while we had JUST started eating. The food itself was disappointing. My sister and I both ordered Benedicts. Mine (Boudin Benny) wasn't hot and was mushy instead of seared. Both of our poached eggs were undercooked. My sister's also had a large amount of cream cheese that wasn't listed and didn't taste good. Other issues: my mom's fries were cold, my brother-in-law said his chicken fried steak was no good. He ate it because he was hungry, and while my husband liked his sandwich & was happy with it, his fries were cold. My niece enjoyed her burger. My son's shrimp, fries, & macaroni were all hot and good... likely because they were rushed for him. It was 3:45 by the time we left. They close at 3. We received a 40% discount, but there was also a 20% automatic gratuity added, which some in our party didn't expect. Here's where they earn stars back... Natalie was great! She took great care of us & kept apologizing for the delay. We could tell that she felt bad, but it was not her fault. The manager also came by checking on us multiple times & got us settled as best she could. She brought us spinach dip while we waited & she made sure that my toddler got food very quickly after being asked about it. She did thank us multiple times for our kindness & patience. As did Natalie. I too, was appreciative of the kindness they showed us. Most of us have all worked in food service before & we understand that the wait staff can only do so much. We also understand being slammed in the kitchen & how fast paced they have to work in order to handle rushes. I appreciate the 40% discount... 20% after the tip. This review was based on one trip & I will update my review if/when I return. But this visit was definitely not a great experience & if it weren't for the kindness, I'd be leaving one star.
