More like a 3.5, but I'm rounding up. Immediately was drawn in by the cute art on the window outside. Restaurant is cute and quaint. Love the mix matched wood panels and the tea fountain drinks. There was a constant stream of people coming and out, ordering and dining in. For where you're at, I can't say there's that much competition, but it's definitely a Taiwanese owned establishment and not a traditional ramen place like most people would expect, if it wasn't obvious from some of the menu offerings like popcorn chicken too. We got the Taiwanese Beef Noodle and shared it since we were snacking and traveling all day. It comes with tender beef topped with crisp veggies, served in their bone broth soup. Comes with a hard boiled egg (not the gooey seasoned ramen egg, but just a regular hard boiled egg), lots of corn and green onion. It is a rich, slightly sweet, slight spicy broth and the beef is tender. Noodles are the egg noodles, thinner and with a slight chew. Not bad. I can easily get this easily in the 626, but I'm glad there's variety in Big Bear too.

Deliciousness in a bowl. Generous bowl of freshly cooked noodles in a pork broth with the most tender melt-in- your-mouth beef. Soup comes with scallions, crispy fried onions, and corn. Brian handled all areas of this restaurant-- food prep, taking orders, and cashier but you can place your order on the kiosk. The restaurant is clean and there are plenty of tables to accommodate about 30 people. BNB is a hit in the Village. Thanks Brian!!!

This restaurant is great spot to get hot noodle soup during winter in Big Bear. Service type is quite simple through self service kiosk and payment is settled there too... Now, since the restaurant is more Taiwanese cuisine, the Ramen's noodle I got wasn't like thin Ramen noodles I have been eating. it was more like round thick one, nevertheless the taste was soooo good added it had generous protein portion while rice bowl had a 'great' tender of Braised Pork, this menu has also a generous portion. There is no outdoor space at this place and the inside has more 'long table' than 4 persons table, so the options for lesser persons will be at high/bar chair.

A decent ramen find in the mountains of Big Bear. Granted I've been spoiled by some pretty great ramen spots in the greater LA area and Gardena/Torrance areas - but the whisky shoyu was quite good as was the teriyaki rice bowl. Fun atmosphere inside with music and cute painted murals. Ordering was simple using the giant iPad like interface. Service was fine a bit fast food like.

I want to give credit to Big Bear for introducing its locals to some traditional Asian meals that are highly popular down the mountain. I was definitely excited to have tried this noodle bar. If you are a ramen lover and have enjoyed HiroNori, Ramen Mura, etc. this is what you should know: The ramen served here is not going to be authentic. The chashu is not the tender, carmelized pork that you get. My egg was hard boiled and cold. The broth was not rich and was a little thin in consistency. I imagined it as if it were my first attempt of making ramen at home. This is what I would get. I believe this is why it's called a "noodle bar" and not a ramen shop. There is room for improvement. I do not think you should be discouraged from trying their food at least once. I hear their sides are more popular and satisfactory.

The pictures of their food on their restaurant window is what made my family and I want to eat here! Soup was perfect for the super cold weather! This restaurant is a mix of Japanese and Taiwanese food. I was happy that they have a vegetarian menu available since I don't eat pork or red meat. Mostly ramen broth base is usually made with pork. My order ~ * Vegetarian Tofu Miso Ramen * Popcorn Chicken (to share) The broth was flavorful and portions were huge! I wasn't able to finish my food. The tofu was crisp and slight crunch when you bite into it. The hot chili oil added a nice kick to the broth. It doesn't look like they use ramen noodles, instead they use yakisoba noodles. The popcorn chicken pieces were big also. You can get dipping sauces on the side such as sweet chili sauce. How to order is at an order kiosk, and it's card only. I enjoyed the music they were playing, it was all 2010's era.

This is my second time coming to this place. I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a ramen place for lunch. Today I just got the chicken as an appetizer and it was so good and satisfied my cravings. The ambiance is nice and there is a decent amount of seating. Overall service is good and the place is cleanly. I 100% would recommend I will be coming back.

The number of Asian restaurants is few and far between in Big Bear when compared to LA/OC, but this is a nice gem of a surprise we stumbled upon. You can either order with the staff or at the kiosk. Apparently you can ask to sample the broth, but we weren't aware of this when we placed the order as the staff of two were busy completing orders. We tried the Spicy Taiwanese and Non-Spicy Taiwanese Beef (the only difference being the chili oil they put in), Miso and Popcorn chicken. The Taiwanese beef had good flavor, not super strong but not light either. The beef was tender and not overly fatty. There were delicious, melt in your mouth pieces of tendon. AND it seemed like it was neverending! The Miso flavor was decent. Chasu was a bit on the leaner side. My son seemed to like it, so that was good enough for me. I'm more accustomed to the flavors of Shin Shen Gumi and Hiro Nori down the hill. Lastly, the popcorn chicken. It had a good amount of season, was fried perfectly and the pieces of chicken thighs were huge. Overall, this was a great find. We will definitely come back up when we're in Big Bear.

The ramen was good and tasted fresh, perfect for the cold weather. Ordering was easy and convenient, you can either use the machine or order directly with a person, which I appreciated. The restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly. Even during a busy lunch rush, we received our food within a reasonable amount of time. Bowls are around $20, which felt fair for the quality and location. We're definitely coming back when we're in Big Bear again

We stopped in at around 7 pm on a Sunday night, and they were completely empty. The staff was kind of hanging out watching the game on the TV hanging above the bar, but they snapped to when we walked in, immediately welcoming us and offering us any table in the space. We told them we were hoping for a to-go order, and they gave us menus and invited us to sit while we pondered our meal. I got the Beef Teriyaki and tempura combo, my husband got the Tonkotsu and sashimi combo. We then added on two sushi rolls, because we are gluttons, and I love me some sushi. My husband stayed inside the restaurant to wait for the food while I returned to the car to wait with the pups. It did take a bit of time for the food to come out, but when my husband returned to the car with a box full of to-go containers smelling delightfully of charred meat and fried foods, I didn't mind at all. The food did not disappoint; it was freshly cooked (or rolled) and hearty. The tempura was crispy and just slightly oily, which was a delight to eat. The teriyaki beef was tender and flavorful, with a slight char that added to the flavor. The rolls were filling and fresh. My husband loved his tonkatsu and the sashimi (which he surprised me by getting, he's not usually a sashimi guy). He said the pork was cooked well and the breading was nicely crunchy. I'm not ashamed to say we ate every scrap of rice and fish we brought home that night. I wish we had been able to dine in, the staff was friendly and the dining room was open and bright. But, we couldn't leave the dogs in the car (or at the cabin) alone that long, so it was nice to have the option to get it to go.

It's honestly funny how the "build your own combo ramen" lets you choose the exact same soup base, meat, noodles, and toppings for cheaper, while the pre-named ramen with literally the same ingredients costs way more. Same bowl, same toppings, same flavor -- just a different name and higher price tag. Maybe after this gets pointed out they'll fix it, or maybe not, but people should definitely watch what they're ordering. As for the ramen itself, it was just very average. The broth looked creamy, but the flavor was pretty flat and lacked depth. It tasted more salty than rich, and didn't have that slow-cooked tonkotsu flavor you expect from a good ramen spot. The chashu pork was decent visually but tasted dry around the edges and not very flavorful. Even the noodles and toppings felt basic and forgettable. The whole bowl looked better than it actually tasted. What confuses me the most is how insanely high the reviews are. Feels more like social media hype and inflated reviews than actual quality food.

Real props to them for still providing excellent customer service with each of their tables. Their food comes out fast, and they all tasted amazing. And their drinks too look visually stunning and tasted great. We ordered the following foods and drink: 1. Gyu set- comes with several meats that you cook on the fire. High quality. Great taste. Pork was soft and tender. Good ratio of meat to bao. 8. Smoked brisket bao- not as good as the spicy pork. But was still really good. 9. Hand roll was also really good. Drinks: 1. Sweet, tart and refreshing. 3. Tokyo tea- the midori made it look so pretty. The taste itself was very good as well. 4. Rising sun- Japanese whiskey. It was fantastic! The broth was delicious, the noodles were soft and tasty, I hadn't tasted noodles like that before. I ordered pork as my protein and honestly, that elevated the already delicious dish. The pork was charred, either by intention or accident but it transformed the ramen. Most other ramen shops have boiled pork, this had a great char that changed the flavor of the pork and ramen. The price is reasonable and I would come back here. The service was excellent as well. Everyone was very attentive, and gave you space as well. They gave suggestions and brought out the spice tray to add as much as you'd like. The Serrano chili salsa in there was delicious. It's not an all‑you‑can‑eat or cook‑your‑own type of spot. This is true Korean home cooking, made fresh by Mama herself in the kitchen. The name couldn't be more accurate. The menu offers a good variety of different dishes, which are big enough to share between 2 people. We ordered the Japchae and the Korean short ribs (Galbi), which came with steamed rice and five small plates of banchan. The dishes were the perfect amount for my mom and me to share. Everything was delicious. The Galbi was melt‑in‑your‑mouth tender, and the Japchae was seasoned just right with bulgogi and shiitake mushrooms. The banchans definitely hit the spot. I couldn't get enough of the fish cake, shredded daikon kimchi, and cucumber kimchi. The only thing I would suggest, is the size of their banchan! Their serving size were very small amounts. This was our first time here and it didn't disappoint. Mama even came out to check on us, welcomed us personally, and even took a picture with my Mama!! Overall I was quite pleased with our food, even my pickiest critic, my mom, gave it her official Mom's Stamp of Approval, so we'll definitely be back.

Service was great, all the employees are very friendly and attentive. We got the tofu soup which came with a side of rice and an egg, kalguksu, bibimbap, and an order of egg rolls. Unlike most korean restaurants, only certain entrees will come with 5 banchans (side dishes) for the whole table, in our case it came with our bibimbap. Everything was really good, classic flavors. The eggrolls I believe were veggie based.
