Lovely dining experience at Atelie located in the Oak Cliff neighborhood. Making a reservation here was smooth! I dined in solo and had a good experience. I was the only one in the restaurant for a whole at 5:30 until people started to creep in within the next hour. Interior is popularized with Daisha's art! I was disappointed that one of the dishes, shrimp, on the menu was unavailable. I was offered mussels instead but I don't eat that. I started off with the cabbage dish. It sets in a miso broth with puffed quinoa. This was fantastic. Think of a refined comfort meal and this is want I want. I could eat that dish every day if I could! I finished with the cacio e pepe dish due to raving reviews. This didn't blow me away unfortunately. I kind of wish I ordered something else. For desserts, I didn't get to try as I'm allergic to berries. So hopeful to see some other dessert options prepared by this restaurant for clientele. Had a lovely experience! Atelie has been a must in my list for 2026. The space is gorgeous with amazing art and moody lighting. We came on wine Wednesday where they have bottles at a discounted price and very reasonable. The menu is seasonal and can change on the season but we tried some of the mains. My must haves would be, the cabbage, croquettes, half chicken, and cacio a Pepe. Our server was so knowledgeable and a great help to making our choices. You can tell they very much function as a team and work together to deliver a great experience. Came with a friend for dinner, on a Friday night, and we had an enjoyable time although the food wasn't as expected. First, parking is pretty open you'll just have to find a spot (and it was free for the evening). Upon entering, we were greeted immediately and seated. Our waitress was amazing! She was attentive and made recommendations. I ordered a cocktail off the menu - raspberry lemon drop (made with gin) and the bartender did his thing! The drink was delicious and had a nice balance between sweet and sour. As far as the food, we ordered a few different options to start us off - roasted cabbage, shrimp, and pork belly. I thoroughly enjoyed the cabbage and liked the spicy kick. The shrimp took me off guard as I thought it would've been head on and didn't too much care for the sauce. The pork belly had deep flavor but was very fatty. We ordered the 2 pastas - bolognese and cacio e pepe - and while they could've had more flavor, the cacio e pepe was the better one of the 2. Wow! What a wonderful dining experience in Bishop Arts! Stepping into the restaurant takes you into what feels like a trendy, warm and inviting art gallery. The service is attentive and personable. The food presentation is wonderful and tastes as delicious as it looks. We started with the roasted cabbage-loved the sweet taste of pear, pork belly-the burnt apple butter, may have been our fave dish, and fried rice-unbelievably flavorful. Our server had great suggestions for wine pairings with each course. All the dishes are served family style with the courses paced well. We also had the waygu bolognese and half roasted chicken-chicken was so tender and delish, and ended with the matcha cheesecake-a different take on cheesecake and highly recommend. The space and ambience feels intimate yet lively, the art is beautiful and I love that there is private dining room in the back for larger parties. I first came here for a run club event and had the BEST frittata, so I've been wanting to come back for dinner and wow, it did not disappoint. I ordered the cacio e pepe and it was incredible. Super simple, but packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. The cabbage honestly stole the show for me. It was so delicious, with amazing flavor, and paired so well with the pear. Such a unique dish and I completely cleaned my plate. The service was just as impressive. Everyone was so kind, and I even got to meet the chef, who was incredibly friendly. I also love the whole concept of combining an art gallery with the restaurant. It makes the experience feel really special and different. For dessert, I had the strawberry matcha cheesecake, and it was beautifully done with a deconstructed presentation. The perfect "treat yourself" ending to the meal. We had only about 24 hours in Dallas so decided to grab dinner here as an early birthday celebration with friends and family. We were greeted and sat promptly even though they had full house on their hands. The restaurant is low lit, with art on almost every wall leaving you with plenty to talk about. We were also very delighted to have a chat with the curator of the space! We had a pretty good waiter, unfortunately I do not recall their name. But they were attentive and kind! There were 4 of us so we did order quite a bit off the menu to share. The biggest theme that we noticed is that most of the food items flavor profile were great, but the finish/cooking technique was a let down. The wagyu pastrami melt tasted good, but I was not a fan of the thickness of the bread. If just a fraction of thickness was removed I would give it a 9/10. The roasted cabbage was probably one of the top dishes of the night. It has a little bite to it, but it was really good otherwise. The roasted carrots weren't anything like described to us! "Candied" was used and that was far from the case, they were largely chopped and underwhelming. The fried rice has everything going for it, except our batch was undercooked? The rice was pretty hard but if done right, would be a 100/10. The Wagyu skirt steak was buttery but at the same time was bland, even with the salsa. The fellas didn't care to finish. The half roasted chicken was the only other top dish of the night for what it's worth. While I found it a bit dry, they sure do know how to season their food! We enjoyed the atmosphere, the low tuned in the background and just being able to eat and yap comfortably! We could see ourselves returning, but no rush. read more

I went for brunch on a Saturday. They were partnering with Run it Dallas that day. The menu was very limited and they didn't have sides for the entrees which I didn't like. How do you offer French toast with no option for eggs or bacon. Anyway I got the potato frittata which came with dressed lettuce. It was absolutely delicious. I opted for the bottomless mimosas. Which I love that they let you share. They bring a carafe and refill once empty. I don't know what kind of bubbles they use, but all I got to say is take an uber or have DD. My husband got the steak frites and said it was good. I do recommend this place just know the menu is limited. Oh they had a DJ. The music was good, but a little loud. OMG I can't wait to go back. I went for my birthday and I enjoyed every moment of it. For appetizers we had the pork belly and cabbage which I cannot wait to get again. For dinner my friend and I shared the trout and steak and broccoli and it was definitely enough for 2 people. The wait staff here was beyond amazing since they knew it was my birthday they all signed a card and gave it to me at the end of dinner. I've never had that done before so it was so kind of them. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance stopped us in our tracks. You are quite literally dining inside an art gallery, surrounded by stunning pieces that make every corner of the room a conversation starter. The atmosphere is warm, intimate, romantic. Our waiter was exceptional. He took genuine care walking us through the menu, which made the whole experience feel personal and unhurried. We started with the potato croquettes and roasted cabbage, moved into the sweet potato and Cacio e Pepe, and finished with the wagyu skirt steak. They are fairly new so it gets busy and service can be a little slow but this is a tasty spot worth trying with very cool art and good prices. They do have some cocktails on their menu, however, nothing to my liking so we were able to order a Raspberry Lemon Drop and it was delicious. I can tell the bartender knows how to make a good drink. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. Overall the design, service and ambience were good. They also decorated their bathrooms in a cute way. The food, however, was not fully what I expected. I liked the roasted cabbage I think it's a well done combo of pear,cabbage. pistachio and fondue, I did taste same chili oil with flakes in it so it has a little kick to it. I did not like pork belly, it was way too fatty for my liking. I also did not like the pastas as they were overcooked and on a lower side of a flavor. Shrimp was okay. We really enjoyed our dining experience here. The decor was really cool, and the bartender provided great service. The food was fantastic, especially the cabbage, cacio e pepe, and Bolognese. I will provide three pieces of unsolicited advice, however: Have more than one type of beer. I hate Blue Moon, and that's all there was. Strange and disappointing. Add an awning, lights, or something to make it look like you're open. We drove by and literally thought it was closed. It feels family owned (but upscale) and it is super cool to hear about the art they have in the restaurant too - they double as a gallery and showcase some cool artists.
