Hawaiian Luau OC - Buffet of the Hawaiian food and two servers

    Hawaiian Luau OC

There are not enough complimentary words available to express how I feel about Steve, his staff,…read moreand the wonderful service he provides. If you need someone to flawlessly handle the catering for your event, then Hawaiian Luau OC is for you. I recently lost my wife of 40 years to cancer, and she was a Hawaiian dancer for many years. I thought do hold a luau style celebration of life to honor her endless Aloha Spirit and love of the Hawaiian culture. I did not know where to turn to begin to create a perfect evening to honor my wife, but I was blessed to discover Hawaiian Luau OC. From my first conversation with Steve, I instantly knew that I made the right choice. It was like talking to a friend from the first word, and I could tell he was fully invested in doing everything possible to make this evening memorable in every way. He even offered to prepare samples of his food and bring them to my home for my approval. Who does that anymore?!? On the day of my wife's celebration, Steve and his staff arrived right on time and set up a wonderful Hawaiian style buffet that was beautifully decorated. Every item of food they provided was absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared. I have been receiving compliments for two weeks from my guests saying the smoked pork was, "the best I've ever had" and the teriyaki chicken was so tender that it was like, "the filet mignon of chicken." Absolutely incredible food from the appetizers to the desserts. Now that the event has passed, I am actually kind of sad that I no longer get to work with Steve, because the experience was that enjoyable in every way. If you have an upcoming event, I hope you will consider Hawaiian Luau OC, because you will walk away with total satisfaction and a big smile on your face.

Everyone at the reception was raving about it! There was plenty of it and left overs to boot. They served the cake as a bonus. I cannot say enough good things about them. I would definitely use them again and recommend them without hesitation!

Prepped With Love - Tomato soup and grilled cheese!

Recently got to try out Prepped With Love at a friend's birthday…read more There was a wide variety of different entrees and appetizers. Everything was so tasty and delicious. We really enjoyed the garlic noodles, musubi, toasts, short ribs, and veggies. I personally enjoyed the food so much that I stopped by lunch service. Picked up a Philly Melt, Salmon Soba Noodle Salad, and Vietnamese Coffee cookie. The food was made to order. It was prepared hot and fresh. The salmon had such good flavor. Unfortunately, they forgot to pack the dressing for the soba noodles so I didn't get to enjoy it fully. Nonetheless, the Philly Melt was very savory and so good with the grilled onions. Cookie was also tasty and has a nice chew. Overall enjoyed Chef Carol's food and excited to come back for lunch service.

The chicken fingers were crispy perfection, and the summer rolls were a hit with adults and little ones alike (individually wrapped to not dry out), and the charcuterie and fruit platters looked absolutely stunning. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and people took leftovers home. Parents were coming up to us asking who catered the event. If you're looking for someone who can feed a crowd of kids AND impress the grown-ups at the same time, look no further. We'll 100% be booking her again!

BEST Banh Khot Ever!! I was aware of the business but I haven't had the chance to come by until…read morerecently. I was reminded of them during the evacuation of garden grove and surround areas due to toxic chemical leaks. Banh Khot Lady kindly donated food to the shelters, and I heard they also donated food during the LA Fires. What a kind business. I believe in supporting businesses that support the community. Banh Khot Lady is located in the same small strip mall as Binh Dan. They have limited parking so I actually parked on the streets nearby and walked over. There was 2 small tables outside and a small seating area along the small edge of the front of the store. Their business model seems to be more for to-go orders. They had a lot of party tray options on their menu. In addition to the banh khot, the also have eggrolls here. Yum. And even better is that they have this 5/2 Combo ($13.99) where you can get 5 banh khots and 2 egg rolls with accompanying fresh veggies. What a deal! The cashier was really nice. She warned me it would take about 25 minutes. I didn't have pressing plans that day so I was able to wait. Next time I would preorder for pick up. Lesson learned. The food was ready a little earlier than the estimated time. I really appreciate their thoughtful packaging here. The had high quality lettuce to wrap with the banh khot and egg rolls. There was also the pickled carrots and daikons. It was THE PERFECT BITE! Wow the banh khot is crispy on the edge but still soft in the center. SO GOOD!! I will definitely be back! I'll have to order some party trays for the family to try!! That's the biggest compliment I can give a restaurant... the feeling when I love it so much I want my loved ones to try it too. Until next time!

3.5 but the owner 10 stars!…read more I've had Banh khot lady on my hit list for a very long time. Somehow I stumbled upon Banh khot Vung tau first and it's hard not to compare the differences, hence the 3 rating. I'm not in HB/Westminster/FV/GG area that often. I'm usually there once a month for a pedicure. So after my pedicure my cravings always hit for Banh khot or Banh cuon or Spring rolls .If I can have all 3 at once that would be my death row meal LOL. Anywho I wanted my Vung tau, I came in an hr before closing and the owner had a sign out the door about closing an hr earlier for his daughter's birthday, which I respect wholeheartedly. I was going to go home defeated but I was like oh yea let me try Banh khot Lady ! It was only a mile and a half away. I pull up and my Lord the parking lot is a clusterf*ck. School was out so trying to pull in with the herd of teens crossing was overwhelming, somehow I got the last space right up front. It was Banh khot Wednesday so they were busy as hell!!!! The owner asked if I had a pick up order, I didn't, then he asked if I ever been there, also no. He broke it down, very straightforward menu. He had personality plus was so awesome to everyone coming in. I ordered 9 banh khots , a five piece egg roll and a bag of Chicarron. Wait wasn't too long for me but after it was for others placing their order right there. Fantastic timing on my part. I was starving so I opened the bag of chicarron and OMG CRAAAAACK!!!! I couldn't stop eating them. I had to force myself to stop so I didn't get sick. These were small crackling type pieces, not big puffed chicarron like a liquor store pork rind. I'd totally get it again! 10 stars! Got home, cracked open the Banh khot, I tried one naked without the lettuce mint cilantro fish sauce. Their Banh khot is drastically different than Vung. BKL banh khot were shrimp and pork together. The batter was thick like a mini pancake and spongy, a tad bland. I was too spoiled with Vungs banh khot, their BK are thin and crispy, like a delicious crispy shrimp crepe and lots of green onions and crack pepper sauce along with fish sauce. BKL could definitely use a pepper sauce and go heavy handed with the green onion to top. The texture just wasn't for me. Now the egg rolls! Those were damn delicious!!! Packed with protein. So good with wrapping them with the lettuce mix you're given. Dipped in fish sauce and added Sambal oelek , perfect bite! I'd easily come back for these! I'll definitely come back to BKL, for those addicting chicarrons and egg rolls and fantastic service. I'll get my BK at Vung and head over to BKL for the egg rolls LOL. Kill two birds with one stone. Don't be discouraged on trying their BKs , we all have different tastes. Texture and comparisons really weigh my judgment :)
