Solid neighborhood bakery, but probably not of destination caliber. When you open a patisserie outside the Smith-9th Station you implicitly promise some degree of quirkiness, but Ariana mostly just channels Cobble Hill energy. The financier had a pleasant texture, but was a bit on the sweeter side. The quiche was well-executed with a caramelized layer on top that reminded me of the ones I used to get at Patisserie Claude before they changed ownership.

Holy bakery Batman! Across from Smith & 9staiom. Baker went to Le Cprdon Bleu & these pastries are beyond! There's a slew of new bakeries in Brooklyn & this one takes the cake to coin a phrase. Lots of goodies. Gorgeous bright Brooklyn corner. Ate: Plum cake $5 Plum cake of my dreams with a whole plum inside. Wowza!

A beautiful and quaint little cafe with Parisian flair on Smith Street in Brooklyn located just a few steps away from the train station. Stopped in for an iced cold brew- refreshing on a sunny morning like today! Will definitely make this one of my go to spots. They have a menu with a variety pastries, quiches, brioches and croissants.

If you would have told me that I would be doing a cooking class this summer on Instagram, I would not have believed you. Now, I would recommend bookmarking the summer series, Baking With Our Buds. If you miss an "episode", you could still follow the recipes that are posted on their Instagram. Crepes have always seemed exacting to me. Danielle and Lily were the perfect team to learn how to cook a family recipe that we all successfully muddled through together. Loved how the chefs on the "call" gave helpful baking tips along the way. Helpful Hints- Whisk the eggs, milk and water, then add the melted butter Whisk the flour, sugar and a pinch of sea salt Slowly add the dry ingredients by 1/3 increments to the wet ingredients and continue to whisk Add the beer, watch it bubble and the wait an hour for the magic to happen The batter will be thin Butter your pan Use a ladle to pour the batter onto a hot skillet Have fun with sweet or savory fillings. We did a combination of both. Mushrooms, broccoli, arugula and havarti or arugula, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and a fried egg were the favorite savory options. Nutella and banana or grilled peaches, blueberries and ricotta with powdered sugar were the dessert top choices in our home kitchen. Would be great with Brie and apples or a smoked salmon combination as well. The combinations are endless. Merci to Danielle and Lily at Michel et Augustin for a delicious, healthy summer meal. Can't wait to bake with you again and good luck with the nationwide launch of your cookies into the Whole Foods Markets. Bon Appetit!

The katsu bowls are delicious, the soups are always good, and the service is fantastic. The price is fair and it's just overall an amazing experience.
