Alfred did an amazing cut on my hair!! It was my first time going to him and definitely i will be going back. I highly recommend!!

I had the worst experience of my life here. I had gorgeous, long, brown hair that I had never bleached before in my life. The Virginia woman apparently does color corrections, and after seeing a few nice before and after pictures on instagram, I decided to book an appointment. I wanted to go light brown, and apparently I had a tint of orange in my hair, so she decided that it was completely necessary, to get rid of the orange I had, to bleach my entire head. She did. Three times in one day. I was there from 9 am to 6 pm. After bleaching my beautiful, previously healthy hair, she put a blonde toner and called it a day. Furious, I had her darken it, so she dyed it again but said she wouldn't go darker than dark blonde. "I didn't bleach it all day to dye it darker," she told me. Now it's about a month later, I had to cut my entire hair into a pixie cut. She charged me $170 for what she called a color correction, but I like to call hair frying... To the roots!!! When I confronted her and asked for my money back, she pointed the finger at me and told my hair was damaged beforehand because I probably ironed it too much, when in reality I preferred to leave my hair natural and only flatironed it once every few months on occasions. That also doesn't make sense because my hair turned to rubber after I left the salon... AND she claimed that she stands by her products because she uses "NO DAMAGE bleach"! You've gotta be kidding me, lady. She also tried to convince me to do a Brazilian blowout in order to remedy the damage. Yeah, right. I'd prefer to go by the professionals. She also used my picture as a before and after, putting a FILTER on my old hair color to make it red! The nerve of her. Don't fall for her before and after pictures. I couldn't believe the deviousness. I'm sure the other stylists there are okay. I know Anna does AMAZING make up for special occasions. But when it comes to hair, stay away from Virginia! She'll make your life a living hell. read more

This review is solely for Lala... I really hate ranting for bad reviews but if I could help save someone a couple hundred bucks..then rant I will. First off let me start by saying getting in touch with Lala is a trip in itself. Anyways I make my appointment and I get there and wait 45 minutes past my appointment till its my turn. Her assistant Nora is a sweetheart she basically helped me pass some more time and all together an hour and half later I saw Lala. She told me lets go with the flow. Let me say that Lala barely touched my hair her assistant did. I went home with no color change. I told her and she tells me come in for toner. She was supposed to give me on base color its not that difficult. Anyways I paid 80 and walked out with wet hair. (blowdry not included) 3rd Visit!! She told me lets put in highlights in your hair to slowly get to your color....I left the salon once again wet hair 180 or more outta my pocket and crappy highlights. There was basically rnadom chunks of highlights thrown here and there. I told her afterwards and she said ok lets make an appointment...I texted her and guess who never responded till this day...yup. Whats worse than spending a few hundred for nothingggg is that you go and shes working on like 5 girls at once. If you know her shell do a good job if not keep dreaming. Save your money go else where. Everytime I've gone to her she has made me wait 30+ minutes past my appointment and has done nothing to my hair. read more

Sucks to rate the place overall because my experience is primarily with Shushan - and to think this woman is part owner!! She is rude, annoying and has no clue about coloring hair... For Gods sake can't even blow dry. Went in for a color correction to get my hair from dark brown to blonde... I understand this isn't an easy process and wasn't expecting a miracle... But I also don't want to hear her complaining about my hair and everything else in the world! She got my hair to a decent shade of medium brown which after a wash turned ORANGE!! I went back a few weeks later... She decided to do partial highlights instead of the full i had asked for (because she wanted to go get her son and go home to get out later that night), did a crappy job on the color and so called high lights and a HORRIBLE job on the blow-dry!! If that wasn't enough all she did the entire time is B*tch about how hard my hair is to blowdry! Hellllo ur not doing me a favor here lady... I'm paying you an arm and a leg for this crap! Ugh! I had such high hopes for this place. The other girls seem so much more talented and nicer.... Sucks I got stuck with her. I hope this review helps her understand what compassion is and perhaps encourage her to enhance her knowledge of coloring. After my own hairdresser moved to the east coast, I searched high and low for a salon to upkeep my locks. I came to Atelier Sav after my model friend recommended this place to me. She always had gorgeous hair so I thought, why not? I am naturally a dark brunette and prefer my hair just a tad lighter. The girl who worked on me said I should go much lighter. I told her no and was honestly hesitant to let her continue, but I was in her chair already, hair wet, cape draped over me, so I went along with it. The salon was busy and has a lot of followers on instagram, surely their stylists must be good to warrant so much business right? Not really. First issue, my stylist's assistant worked on my hair longer than the stylist did. I have a sensitive scalp, which I mentioned to both of them. When the assistant applied hair color, she pulled and tugged at my hair to section and stabbed me with the hard bristled brush until I winced loudly. Second issue, my hair came out too light. I'm no stranger to stylists doing what THEY think is the best, but I didn't come here for that. I had a very specific idea in mind and even showed them pictures, but they were too busy to listen or care. The salon looks nice in pictures so a lot of people want to come here. But the fixtures are falling apart and the sanitation is lacking. The chair I sat on had hair stuck in various crevices of the tufts. And the faux leather was torn in some areas, I was wearing shorts so the torn edges kept cutting into my legs. Come to think of it everything was just kind of dirty and unkempt looking. read more

I debated whether or not to write the name of the person with whom I had such an awful experience with, but decided to go ahead and do it so the rest of you would watch out. I had an event planned specifically for me and I had picked out specific hairstyles and knew exactly what I wanted. The hair turned out to be a complete mess! It was absolutely nothing like what I had expected and was the worst hair I have ever had. I picked this person (Lara C Kay) hoping I could get a tasteful hairdo but by the time I got to my makeup, the hair had completely fallen apart. Everyone I saw in the meantime eventually opened up and commented that the hair must have been done by a 2 yr old child (no exaggeration!!). I almost cried myself to tears because the event was hours away and my hair looked disgusting! Thankfully there was a hairstylist nearby who was able to squeeze me in and redid my hair. I ended up paying double for hair but at least the second time was gorgeous!! At the party, I discovered I wasn't the only one. Apparently she had been messing up quite a bit and the girls were left with no choice but to go to a second stylist to fix up the damage. I was very very disappointed. If you want to look your best and get what you pay for, avoid going to her! She may be very talented but she simply did not care and finished it all up in about 10 minutes! Don't go to Ines, she fried my hair even though I specifically stated I don't want any damage to my hair what so ever. If she couldn't do it, she should've said, I can't do it. All of her Instagram pictures show how she takes black hair and turns it blonde without any damage, but in reality it's not even close to it. First of all, the ombré was horrible because it turned into a brown color and didn't even look any different from my black hair and secondly pieces of my hair are just falling off!! My hair looks super damaged and on top of that, she charged me $200!! For wat? I didn't mind paying $200 as long as there was a change in my hair and there was no damage, but she did exactly the opposite. I will never go back to her again! read more

This place is great. A new salon in the heart of Glendale with great style and fabulous ambiance. The salon is beautiful, clean and well stocked with top of the line products for your hair. My appointment was with Shoushan. Upon entering I was greeted by the receptionist who quickly offered to bring me a coffee and some magazines. She was so nice and personable. Not like other places where they often don't even look up as you are checking in for your appointment. I was so impressed with their customer service. They seem to really care about their clients and want to make it as comfortable as possible. Shoushan did a fantastic job on my hair (Color, highlights, and a cut) and all for a very reasonable price. I felt like a million bucks after leaving the salon. I went here to do my prom hair and went by LUCY SAV. i HATED IT. She was like triple booked and she didn't even do my hair, her assistant did. I looked horrible and it was my prom. I didn't know what to do, i can't believe i didn't make her redo everything and i gave her 75 dollars to make me look horrible, if i knew i would've done my own hair 100 times better. i will NEVER go by her again. SO awful, i regret it. I went to studiokay to do my makeup and Lara was kind enough to fix what she had did. Needed to look really good for an upcoming meeting, and well... at my age, the bargain basement family hair cut shops aren't doing it for me. Desperate, I yelped a nearby salon, liked what I saw here and made an appointment. SO.GLAD.I.DID. Shoshana (SP??) was awesome! ::::INSERT JAZZ HANDS HERE::: I mean first of all I have never ... I mean NEVER gone to a professional salon. This place looks like something where models and stars would go to, so I was a little intimidated BUT BASED on MY PRECONCEIVED NOTIONS. The staff is very friendly, and I was seated right away. Shoshana took her time and assessed my hair and away we went! Highlights added and my hair styled, she even showed me how to achieve the same results. She took her time and was so great! DUDE when I went back to work, EVERYONE commented on how good I looked. I look YOUNGER, hair lays the way it SHOULD and is even. My husband said "WOW, it's like I have a new wife." WELL WORTH THE PRICE, like I said I am used to the bargain basement, family shops. DANG IT PEOPLE, I even had my hair styled by a cosmetology student (don't go there)!!! BUT I NOW UNDERSTAND THAT IN MOST CASES YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. TERRIBLE HAIRCUT AND RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE BY ARMOND. I cut my hair about a week ago with Armond. I had showed him picture of a straight short hair and several times mentioned that I DID NOT want any layers whatsoever in my hair, I wanted a straight cut. He has cut my hair WAY shorter than I had showed him and put TOO MANY short layers starting from above my ear. And my right side and left side don't even match, he has chopped a whole bunch of hair from one side that is not even balanced. When I txted him that I didn't like hair he said "thats what you wanted , have a good day". His work is NOT professional and he was so rude when I criticized his work. Not only I'm not going back, I will let all of my friends know who and how he cut my hair. read more

I've lived in Los Angeles for almost a decade. I have been going to a korean salon in k-town since i moved out here-getting everything from a straight perm, set in perm, color, highlight, etc.... I've been in glendale for the last 5 years but still never ventured into the local salons. Atelier Sav is on brand and a few minutes away from me. trust me....i was very very hesitant to let a non korean touch my hair only because i've gone to non korean places before and they gave me a "rachael" haircut circa Friends 1990's. However, I've had my haircut by Virginia, who i believe is the owner. I've also gone for a blow out. I've also had my make up done here as well by Ana. Although I was hesitant to come to a place where it is predominantly Armenian, I had a wonderful experience. Virginia gave the bangs i like and cut my hair without thinning it out too much and gave me some good tips on how to prevent my bangs with splitting down the middle throughout the day. Ana did my makeup for my maternity pictures and the pictures turned out great. At first, i thought my make up was too flawless...almost kind of a kardashian look...defined eyes, nude lipstick and all...but Ana knew exactly what she was doing. I had the best experience at this salon! Very professional and kind! My stylist was Lala, she was seriously one of the nicest stylists I have ever met. She listened to what I wanted, suggested her ideas, and I liked what she had in mind! She actually takes time during the consultation to look at your hair carefully and the shape and features of your face, to determine which style/color would suit you. I would recommend her to everyone, she knows what she's doing, and if you don't like something, she changes it. Or, if something isn't perfect, she won't be lazy to fix it! You will hardly come across genuine, hardworking, caring hairdressers like that these days. No attitude, or stuck-up bougie personality, very modest and professional! I did my hair here twice first with Anna she was great my highlights were beautiful and very blended. However... I then did my roots touch up highlights with Ines who was way too over confident and said that she uses the best products which results in my ROOTS being super damaged and burned not I have super frizzy roots and the rest of my hair looks nice how strange is that?! Even when I contacted her about it all she said was do home treatments it will be better, she didn't offer anything else and my hair is still damaged from her. Went in for a trim and a blow dry. I was placed with Nina. She did an excellent job at listening to exactly what I needed. I hate it when I ask a hair stylist to take off an inch and they keep trimming and before you know it 2 inches if not more has been trimmed. Nina didn't do that. She was very professional and took off exactly the amount asked. I would highly recommend her. She does color too. read more

If I could rate at no stars I would. Horrible service, worst customer service she only cares about making money versus making her client happy. Went to INESSA for hair consultation she mentioned she could lighten my hair!! Making huge mistake by trusting her all my hair turned to be ORANGE/AWFUL job. The salons decor is beautiful and unlike most, there is lots of space to move around in. Being on the claustrophobic side, this is a major plus. Front office staff is friendly and like others have stated, they don't push you to buy hair products. The only downside is they don't validate, but it's not worth knocking it one star. I'm normally there for 2 hrs and pay $2 not a big deal. If your looking for a Stylist that is great with color? Diana is the best. She's so good I didn't hesitate to follow her when she relocated to Atlier Sav. I've gone from dark brown to bright red without a problem. Diana is great at listening to my ideas as well as giving me her opinion with what will work for my hair. I would highly recommend Diana to anyone. read more

Update! Lara has since moved from Atlier Sav - she is now at Chateau Deluce down the street on Brand & Maryland. Update: Still loving Lara! I went for a haircut, and I always hate the haircuts I get which is why I've had trouble finding a stylist, so I'm so happy I found Lara. Not only is she great at color, but she's great at cuts too. She nicely shaped my bangs and made them fuller and chopped off my thin ends and actually stuck with the 2 inches I requested and didn't go a millimeter shorter. Finally a stylist that listens and doesn't over cut! I had also brought in some extensions and Lara trimmed them to fit my hair length and showed me how to put them in. She really transformed my thin hair into something beautiful. It's no longer limp and has style - not to mention how much healthier it looks. I trust Lara as a stylist and value her professional opinion. She's great, you have to try her! read more

I absolutely love love love my brazilian blowout by Virginia. Been coming here for years now every 3-4 months or so. Scheduling has never been an issue with me-the front desk tries to accommodate as best as possible. Although the brazilian itself takes long-I enjoy the breaks in between. Staff is always courteous and offers refreshments etc. I feel like a part of the atelier fam every time I go. Technically, the blowout can last for up to 6 months but I'm ADDICTED and as soon as my curly roots come in-I make the appt. with Virginia asap and that averages every 3-4 months. My hair the first week is flat but after that -maintaining my straight hair is a sinch. No it doesn't damage my hair-in fact-the brazilian is the ONLY thing that actually made my hair grow!! read more

First off let make these 3 statements. * This review is for Andy A. * I have never had short hair in my life * The last 10 years I have been cutting my own hair As I stated, I haven't had a professional haircut in 10 years nor have I ever had short hair. So you can imagine how freaked out I was once I was on the cutting chair watching Andy snip snip trim trim 90% of my hair away. He was very patient and told me to relax and trust him. I did mentioned before hand what I wanted to do with my hair after the fact. I wanted a 3 different hair design in one. I honestly didn't think it was possible. However, after two hours I finally saw my new hair cut, I was amazed. I couldn't believe how a simple {not on Andy's part I'm sure} hair cut transformed me into a new person. This was about four weeks ago. Since then my self esteem has had a huge boost and I get a compliment here and there from the ladies. I'm really glad Atelier has someone like Andy on hand. He's patient, kind and above all a very good listener. He knows exactly what your hair cut will look like ahead of time and can give you the look you want without sacrificing his artistic talent. I'm a photographer and know first hand all about making people look good without having to change your specific look. All in all, I'm very pleased with the service I got. Finally I found a salon. I would pass by this place all the time and think it would be really expensive just from the looks of it but it's very fairly priced. The inside is nice and clean, everything is white.. almost everything. My stylist is Suzi! She's an absolute doll. I found her off of instagram (suzicouture if you wanna see some of her work) because I really needed to cut my hair after not cutting it for 5 years. She gave me nice layers and I love that when I told her I wanted to keep my length, she kept my length, unlike any other place I have been. I also came to have my hair styled for a wedding, I was in a hurry and she did everything possible to get me out on time. I also had an ombre done by her which turned out perfect :) Also, I have had my makeup done by Ani and I LOVED it. Both these girls make their own appts. so call the salon and they will give you the contact info. I definitely recommend these 2 :) The only issue is parking can be difficult for most, especially after work hours. read more

This review is for Nune! She is absolutely AMAZING! I usually do not leave reviews, but this is a must. I have been going by Nune for a really long time now and I will never trust anyone else besides her with my hair again. I have had many different shades of blonde and brown and they have all looked amazing thanks to her. I get complements all the time on my hair. Before coming by Nune I tried 6 different hairstylists and none of them ever did a good job on my hair. I am really picky when it comes to what I want, and Nune always gives me the PERFECT result. She is very honest and truly cares about taking care of my hair and keeping it maintained properly. She never does anything without explaining everything and always wants the best to keep my hair healthy. I have done many different looks with her from balayage, highlights, full blonde, and even light to dark brown and my hair is super long and healthy! I'm currently blonde and my hair has grown out so much while having Nune as my stylist. From the first time Nune did my hair, I absolutely fell in love with it. Love this place I've been coming here for over a year and always get my hair done by Virginia she is the best everyone is so nice and welcoming! Virginia's Assistants are fabulous they offer you coffee tea or water. Just recently went there yesterday to touch up my roots, And the new assistant of Virginia's her name is Josie she did some kind of a massage while shampooing my hair I felt like falling asleep in the chair it was so relaxing love it! The other assistant is very nice also and very hard-working but she loves her job you could tell. Also, The salon is very nicely decorated!
