Usually this diner has been a great experience, and they would normally take large parties with no problem. That was not the case. I came in with 11 girls including me. Immediately there was a problem. Then they finally sat us down and 2 waitresses were talking infront of our faces about how neither of them was to wait on us. After we were done eating almost every single one of our checks were wrong. After that we were paying our checks and of course there was a huge mixup, they gave us an extra check with food no one ate and forced us to pay. Then a waitress looked us in our faces and said why are you being so rude as all the other waitresses and waiters were talking about us and causing a scene. This was not a good choice for me. The wait staff are not well trained. Food came no silverware until we flagged down a bus boy. I could not get a water without several requests and coffee was refilled only when we called someone over to fill it. I had a Gyro which I had high hopes for and it was mediocre at best. Large slabs of meat instead of something manageable. I was with two others that had California eggs Benedict and both men left a lot of it in their plate. We didn't have to ask for the check it was the only time after we ordered the wait staff came up without our asking. Actually saw the soured person who brought our food push a young man around 10 years old out of her way as he stood waiting for someone to take his dads money at the registered. Took 15 minutes before someone even came over to the table, 25 minutes for the food to finally come out and when it came out mine was burnt! and it was visibly burnt like why would you even serve that to somebody you see it's burnt coming out of the kitchen! Perfect! So good! I had stuffed peppers with sweet potato and pickled beets, it was delicious! My husband had marinated grilled chicken with mashed potatoes, which was also good! The mashed potatoes were real!!! The portions were big and the service although not super happy was , efficient and polite! The place is pretty and clean! The bathroom was clean too! Open 24/7 they aren't cheap but worth the little extra for really really good food! Coffee was good, but the cups are horrible, too wide at the top, don't hold much. Food is always good, I truly love the seafood bisque on Friday night and the spinach pie is the perfect mix of feta, spinach and phyllo dough. The fried shrimp are cooked to perfection and you get a very generous portion. The waitstaff always prompt and friendly. This place has the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. The manger who refused to give her name kicked us out because my wife, who is a disabled veteran, was told she could not have her cup of medicine. This was she said because the law prohibits outside cups. I asked for the sign and state law to verify it, she said she could not provide it at this time. I said then there is no law at this time. At this point she rudely said then you will not eat here, took out menus and kicked us out. For no reason. When we asked for a manger we were told there was no manger, but she was calling the police. For what we asked and again was Rudly told to leave. As we were exiting a waitress said leave you are making the My customers uncomfortable, why did she attack us like this I have no idea, but followed us out and recorded us. Went to have a nice breakfast while we waited for our cars to be serviced ....... $3000 charge later to my bank card !!! Seriously ? In this day of fraud to be that careless ringing through a $ 30 breakfast is ridiculous !! Called and the same lady answered the phone - was apologetic and says she does it all the time !?!? Disappointed to have to deal with this over a simple breakfast ! Steer clear ! So manager Called and left me a voicemail stating it should be all set - simple error - played it off like it was no big deal - well this was on a Friday ( before holiday weekend ) so of course I am with out the $3100 until I guess Tuesday !! Growing up in North Haven, I came here many times in high school and college, but last week was my first trip in more than 10 years and I know why. A group of us wound up here after the NH fair but were pretty disappointed. They serve typical diner food, but everything tasted pre-packaged and not fresh. The mozz sticks were o.k., but the sauce was awful. I got a quesadilla, that was served with one simple side of salsa with no sour cream, gauc or anything. I had two pieces and it was so greasy, I didn't have anything more. I'm ashamed to say this, but I was in the mood for a drink and since it was 10:45 pm, I ordered a cosmo before they stopped serving liquor at 11. But, it was the absolute worst cocktail I've had and I'm pretty positive there wasn't any liquor included. I love this place. Food is good, restaurant is clean, & the staff are all friendly & accommodating. The chicken souvlaki and fries are my favorite. However their soups and rolls make for great comfort food. Their homemade ranch dressing is amazing & not to be missed. Dipping fries into it is addicting. Local 24 hr diner. The service is fast if you need to eat in a hurry. The dining room is super clean seeing that it is open for 24 hours. Be careful not to break any of the diner's "rule's" or you will be kicked out. Yes, this dinner actually has a set of about 10 rules posted on the wall. The "special" omelet with feta, tomato, and bacon is pretty good. I'll usually order the omelet or a gyro and a cup of chicken soup. Soda comes in a teeny tiny glass and they charge you for refills which isn't cool. I am not a big fan of the sandwiches as they are a bit mediocre. Always great food and friendly service. We frequent the Diner often and you can not go wrong with anything you choose. Our favorites are the chicken soup, marinated chicken sandwich, and omelets. GREAT Greek food. The first time I went I got chicken souvlaki and it was fantastic! The second time I got normal diner food and it was disgusting. The nachos are barely edible and similar to what you would make at home in your microwave with Tostitos chips.. and I literally think the chips they use are Tostitos. The eggs I got tasted old and the cheese they use I'm almost positive is the plastic wrap kraft cheese. My dad and I were traveling through CT and trying to find places to eat off of the highway and for multiple exits, couldn't find anything until we happened across this diner. I got a breakfast burrito which was very basic; eggs, cheese and salsa. My dad got pancakes which we think they gave him the silver dollar pancakes because they were tiny. Also I understand that diner servers are busy on Sunday mornings but our server never came back after taking our order. Someone else brought the food and only one time did someone else come through to refill coffee. We waited for the requisite environmental asshole thing to happen around us it generally does and ruins our visits in places like this but it was episode free. And the second, and final time, was tonight. The food was good, service was friendly, but then came time to pay the bill. When we tried to split the bill onto 4 credit cards the owner or manager refused to do it. He had a terrible attitude and was incredibly rude. I'm still in shock at the way we were treated. When we asked if there was a way we could split the bill, he responded that the only way to fix my issue with paying the bill was to go back in time. and proceeded to tell us that we had to follow the rules, and we just wanted to make our own rules and we can't just make our own rules, we have to follow his (although in writing this could be perceived as a joke taken the wrong way, I assure you he was angry and being rude--also he was very hung up on this "rule") well I CERTAINLY would've gone back in time if I could have and NEVER SHOWED UP AT THIS GOD FORSAKEN DINER Luckily the nice waitress came to the counter and took the check to another register to split it up for us. We proceeded to pay our bills, which, took longer and was more work for this angry man than if he had just split the bills when we asked nicely. I signed my bill and told the man (still not sure who he was, but he was definitely a manager or the owner) that he was very rude and that we would never be back. Instead of saying nothing and just letting us leave. My husband and I usually eat breakfast here a couple times a week. The food is always fresh and delicious. The staff is extremely friendly and the diner is very clean. We have eaten lunch and dinner here and now I can say I'm hooked on their seafood stuffing ! The stuffed shrimp were the best I've ever had ! The stuffing is a family recipe made in house !
