The food here is very good. Every time I come it never fails. The waitresses here are always on top of things never leaving you waiting for service. This time around I got the homemade corn beef hash delicious!!! No waiting long and food comes out fresh and hot mmmmmmm! This establishment is small but it feels like home. Such a cute little spot. The decor inside is very homey and classically American. Actually the whole establishment screams American breakfast nook and I love that. They were fairly busy when we went. We were seated promptly and served soon after. The portions are very good, and filling. The food was very good too! The pancakes were fluffy and delicious, the powdered sugar on top was great. The star of the show was definitely the home fries though. They were legit cooked perfectly and seasoned perfectly. My boyfriend had the corn beef hash and he quite enjoyed it! Could only split the bill 2 ways which I can see being a problem for bigger parties...but great spot, little pricy. Great great will come again. read more

To start, my rating is purely on the eggs benedict hash special my husband got me via take out this morning. I didn't have any other dishes and was not there in person to comment on the service. I AM willing to try it again in hopes that I will be happier with other items. In regards to my actual food, I was not impressed. While the price is reasonable, I wasn't a fan of the hash (a bit bland for my personal taste) and found the hollandaise sauce to be very watery. The eggs were cooked well, though, and the potatoes were pretty average (I've had better, I've had worse). Again, I hope to have a better experience next time read more

The French toast was delicious and our server was great. I hated that they charge $1 per topping on a meal which is over priced in the first place. Whipped cream shouldn't be an additional dollar. This is a great spot! Great little hole in the wall breakfast spot right in the center of town! Good food & coffee!! The menu was not extremely overwhelming but had just enough options for everyone! My husband had the hearty breakfast (2 thick slices of French toast, 2 slices of bacon , 2 eggs, and potatoes)with an extra side of bacon. He had his potatoes cooked a little well done due to his preferences, he got his eggs over medium and they were cooked to perfection. The French toast was thick and was very tasty only downside was that they did not provide fresh syrup they provided packets of syrup. I had the vanilla yogurt with fruit and granola. The fruit was very fresh and the yogurt was cold! I also had a side of scrambled eggs which were fluffy and cooked perfectly. The service was fast and professional. Our waitress was sweet and on top of everything. The restaurant is clean and appealing. There is just enough seating and even a bar style seating area. You can see your food being cooked right in front of you! Such a great place to go on a weekend with your significant other, family or on your own! read more

We were planning to do some Sunday morning shopping in Wallingford, so we took to Yelp to find a breakfast spot. Yelp brought us to Center Street Luncheonette, and we weren't disappointed! We have been twice now, and it's already in our top 3 for breakfast spots. When you walk in, it's warm and cozy. Cute decorations, friendly staff. A wide selection of standard breakfast items and some specials. It was clinched for me when the homemade corned beef hash was actually good! Fresh corned beef, good ratio of meat to potatoes. And they can handle cooking that, and bacon, extra crispy as we ordered it! It's sort of amazing how so many places have a hard time with that. We've tried blueberry pancakes (well, pancake, singular...one very large, very filling blueberry pancake!!), breakfast sandwiches, french toast special, pumpkin muffin, corned beef hash, and bacon. Everything was tasty and fresh. I can't wait to try more of the items on the menu!! Friendly service, good coffee and excellent food. Very clean establishment and plenty of parking in the area. I had the Hearty breakfast combo. I was able to substitute ham for bacon or sausage. Eggs were perfectly cooked, pancakes were delicious and the hash brown potatoes were seasoned very nicely. Even though it was extremely busy, everything arrived very quickly. My entire breakfast plus tip was $20. In this day and age, that is a bargain. I really enjoyed my experience here and look forward to coming back again. read more

RUDE !! Ordered a to go order (over $100 worth) and we got yelled at as to why we were there a bit early. The lady was so rude to us and told us they hadn't even touched our order and it was going to be another hour min. So I've had this bookmarked to try for awhile, and I was a bit disappointed. The place is spotless which would be a star in my book, the waiter was personable and got our order correct hence another star. But our food was ok, not terrible, not good, my hubs got a bacon egg cheese on a hard roll with home fries, and I got a cheddar tomato omelet with home fries and an English muffin. The home fries are not crispy and are accompanied by lots of stringy onions (not my fav) the omelet's tomatoes were super soft and mushy inside which made the omelet super sloppy once I cut in and similar to having tomato paste in an omelet just not tasty to me. This is my go-to breakfast place. I usually get 3 eggs, rye toast, home fries. It's very simple, affordable, and convenient since I work very close to the establishment. They have a really good avocado toast special when they have avocados. The owners, Brianna and Diego are very welcoming and personable. Also you have to try the muffins that are grilled. They're so good especially if you ask for extra butter. My only wish is that they open on Thursdays and close Wednesdays since Wednesday is my day off and Thursdays I work having to improvise and have to really come up with a plan of what I want to eat that day and I'm not a good planner. Damn, son. I was in a car full of people who had left for Cape Cod before the sun came up in order to beat traffic, but we needed to stop for some breakfast. This place came highly recommended and it sure delivered. Most places that serve large portions slack on the quality, and some places that have high quality food are short on the quantity, but not this place! They have some of the best breakfast food I've had, yet the portions are ENORMOUS! Check the size of the one pancake they give you with a breakfast combo in the picture I posted. I guess that should've been my first clue, hahaha. The lady who was running it couldn't have been nicer either. We were there about 30mins after they had opened, and she had let her cook sleep in an hour later. Myself, my wife and my mother stopped in here, after recently moving to Wallingford within the last year and had a great experience and an exceptional server. My wife had called to request the server for our next visit and was told her name was Karen and she worked weekends-dark hair a bit older. We love supporting local businesses and have tried many in town and reviewed them, but found a gem with this place-as well as our service. Very attentive, definitely on her game as well as super friendly- the kind of server many places lack. Food was good, as well as good portions and decent prices. I love this little place. My boyfriend and I went for breakfast one morning and there isn't a ton of seating, but we were seated at the counter really quickly. We had eggs, french toast, home fries, coffee, etc.; the usual breakfast fare. It was loud in there as it was busy and the kitchen is pretty open to the dining area, but everything was delicious; the serving sizes were just right; and the service was good. I was the only person that day aside from the staff in the location and she is falsely claiming there was another customer. Sadly, I had to tell her to stop messaging me or it would be considered harassment. My heart goes out to staff that is able to work with a person like this.** After much consideration and more relentless resilience from my wife, I am deciding to write a review of this place that I had visited a few months back. With what is going on in the world and for fear of possible retaliation it's taken me much thought in posting this. I stopped in this place after getting out of work in my night shift- I work for the state, not that that even matters, am a stand up citizen, but was undecided if I wanted to stay and eat or take food to go after finishing up my 12 hours night shift and when I was asked how I would be dining by the server I told her clearly "I'm not sure". I stood in the restaurant when shortly after my reply to the server a young red haired girl started screaming at me, "Answer my server, are you eating in or taking out?" and I told this girl also I wasn't sure. She, sitting in the back of the place all of a sudden threatening me and started using very vulgar language with me something to effect of "Answer her or get the F*CK" out of my restaurant or Im calling the police." Call the police?? For what? For me being undecided on dining in or taking out? Or was she going to call the police because I am a black man in there at 6am? I was utterly shocked as she sat in the back repeating this over and over. I ended up leaving obviously, and remained very disturbed still by this girls mannerism, vulgarism and just complete disgusting disrespect for a person- which is why I decided to post this review. The girl was very clearly the owner or manager calling it "her restaurant" and had long red hair. From the looks of it has commented on many other reviews on this page here as the owner as well. If the owners reads this you are exactly what this world does not need for small business owners, and should be absolutely ashamed of the way you talk to people, and customers. This place is great! Excellent food, large portions, and friendly service. I ate my entire 8 oz burger patty melt because I couldn't stop. It's all the usual breakfast fare and the place smelled like sausage and pancakes, and fresh coffee - as it should! There was the background clinking of forks on plates and chatter that indicated friendly surroundings. The owner's mother was our waitress and she was sweet and attentive. She added extra chocolate syrup to my nephew's chocolate milk when she asked for it and brought the coffee I ordered late when she was passing by, that I didn't think she heard. I love that it's a family owned and operated establishment and you can see the love that goes into the place. Wanted to still love this place under new ownership but.. It is not as calm as it was. People cooking seem frantic rather than previous cooks. New owner never takes the time to say hi or thanks for coming in. We only go to private owned places to support them .It is nice to get that personal feeling when there but lacking with new owners. Today owner took time to count how many ppl in to not be over covid limit but didnt take time to even smile at customers. It's the little things that keep ppl coming back Kate is an amazing server.Works very hard,great personality and always a thank you when leaving.
