Waiter was adequate but not friendly. He did not smile at all. Lemon soup was very good. Lamb kabobs were decent. Moussaka was very bad. Part was burned, part was not thawed completely. Little flavor. Prices were on the high side for that type of place. Worst of all, immediately outside the main window was a medium size evergreen tree that is mostly dead and very unsightly. On the way out, I spoke to the owner-wife about it. She claimed that she hadn't noticed. Her husband overheard our discussion and angrily exclaimed, "We don't have time for that kind of baloney." When we first got there the service was awful. But moments later I realized this was a case of a tiny staff overwhelmed by a Friday night slammed service. The menu has right on it that there may be a twenty or so minute wait for the food. With those understandings it was easier to be patient. The food was well worth the wait and the money. Fresh and delicious were the order of the day. I had the bass, my husband a beef dish and my daughter a shrimp gyro. The only real complaint I have is the noise level from the patrons was incredible. We had take out dinners thanks to the Covid19. Food was ok, but staff was very rude and obviously don't subscribe to the customer is always right premise. They screwed up our order and the additional delay made our meals cold by the time we got to eat them. The food was very disappointing. Not a lot of flavor. Tasted very bland. I got three platters, a gyro platter, shrimp platter, and a chicken khabob platter and there was just no spice or any kind of flavor in any of them. The rice was also bland and didn't go well with the food. I expected more because I have tried various Greek food and enjoyed all of them. First time diner here and am impressed. Went for lunch and the hummus platter with pitas were amazing. For lunch I ordered the chicken kebob combo with fries and green salad. All very good. I like the fact that they grown their own vegetables, you can really taste the difference. When you pull in the parking lot you can see the huge garden and bee hive container for fresh honey. While driving to it, we almost missed this place - GPS told us to turn a block too early. In the darkness, I almost ran down a bicyclist! Fortunately he just got out of the intersection, as we turned down a dark residential road. But we quickly realized it was probably just a block over. I am in this area for a conference every February, and discovered this gem on my last visit. Went back for dinner this year, and was pleased to find the same friendly family running he restaurant with the same delicious food. I had a cup of the avgolemono soup, which was both flavorful and comforting, followed by a piece of moussaka, which was also quite good. My companions had a pork kebab dinner, and a mezze platter. They were also pleased with their meals. We are looking forward to next year's conference, and returning for one or more meals here! read more

We are all foodies from NY, Boston, and Santa Barbara and this is our favorite place in the area - we look forward to coming for lunch and dinner every year on our vacation. The food is very fresh, making simple salads and mezze really tasty - when we chatted up the manager, she said they grow a lot of things themselves. The staff are warm, welcoming, and proud of what they do. We usually try a few appetizers and have various kebabs with salad or oven baked potatoes, nothing fancy but always delicious; excellent fries too. read more

They obviously do not value customers. I checked their website and yelp reviews and thought I was headed for a great meal but maybe not the best service. I checked their hours, and for a Thursday evening they would be open from 4-9pm. I drove 40 minutes to get to this place and arrived at 8:05pm. As soon as we opened the door, a woman turned us away and rudely said they were closed. When I questioned it, noting that the sign on the door and their website said that they close at 9pm, she said "if I don't have a reservation past 8, we will close". She said it like we were a huge bother and inconvenience, so we had no choice but to turn around and leave. Don't waste your time going here. Is there an option for 'No star' ?! So I have 3 scenarios to give a horrible review on this place. My coworkers and I travel to this area often and have been to this place several times as the food there is genuinely good. The family who owns this restaurant knows some coworkers (who travel very often) on first name basis and are very nice to them. The rest of us, unfortunately, got the 'true' service when we were not with the 'platinum' group. So here are my 3 scenarios that will stop me from going there ever again: 1. Few months ago we ate there in a big group (15+). As various across table conversations are expected in a large group, the grouchy lady owner who was taking the orders told one of the coworkers to stop talking as he was disturbing her and she couldn't understand a particular person's order. She said he was too loud and needed to be quiet. Other patrons literally looked at our table in disbelief on the words that came out of her mouth. Few minutes later, she came back and 'screamed' that we all need to stop being so loud as we were giving the chef (her hubby I guess) a headache! Well, we should have learnt our lesson that night to not come back, but it is all about giving a 2nd chance, right? 2. Last night we called at 630pm to find out what time they close (website said 830pm). She (grouchy lady!) said they close at 8pm. We politely mentioned the site said otherwise. She told us that they close early if there is no reservation so the last walk-in will be 7pm. We asked if we can make a reservation for 730pm in that case. She obviously refused to take the reservation and told us that we need to show by 7pm if we need to eat there. Well (I repeat), we should have learnt our lesson yesterday to not ever go there again , but it is all about giving a 3rd chance, right? 3. So, since we couldn't eat there yesterday due to early close and we craved for the Gyro's, we decided to squeeze in lunch over there in between meetings. We called in on our drive in and told her we were ordering ahead as we were on a time crunch. We got there in 15 min and settled down with our drink (It is a BYOB place so we brought few cans of coke with us). She made a HUGE fit about bringing in soda while eating at her restaurant. We apologized for the misunderstanding as we have always walked in with our wine at nights so we assumed any 'BYOB' is valid. My manager, infact, walked up to her to apologize and even offered to not open our cans and buy from them instead. She blasted at him and also said that we should have just done a take-out order instead and there was no reason to dine in. Well, we quietly finished up our (last) meal there, paid, and left without making too much noise. We all were equally pissed at her behavior and did not appreciate her horrible attitude towards her customers. Mom and Pop restaurants usually run well because love is served along with the food cooked. Obviously this family lacks that! I hope they read this and realize that they made her patrons feel unwelcomed and unwanted over a can of coke that was 'supposedly' allowed! read more

Went there tonight with another couple who have been here many times. During our meal we asked the server for some water and he told us that they didn't offer tap water and that he could only bring us bottled water. I never went to a restaurant anywhere in this country that didn't offer tap water when it was requested. We got four small bottles of water and when we got the bill, we were charged $2 each for a bottle that would cost $0.10 in a market. When the other couple mentioned this to the owners wife, she gave us a whole song and a dance about rising costs. Her husband told us if we didn't like it, don't come back. Believe me, we won't. If you have kids-don't come to this place. It was a busy Sunday night with lots of people so it was noisy to begin with. The wait for food was long so the kids were getting antsy. My kids are your typical 2 year olds. The owner asked us to take my kids outside. We eat out all the time and never had similar issues. Its not what she asked but how she did it! I would never come back here. We ate here the night before as well and didn't get kicked out. The food is good. The service is lousy and they add 20% tip to parties of 6. I always tip 20% but I think when you force it on people it should be 15% Certainly not 20% worthy service. read more

The food is great, takes me back to my travels in Greece, and is very vegetarian-friendly. HOWEVER. Since the one son who used to wait tables there (and was delightful) moved on to his own culinary business ventures, the other son seems to be the main waiter. On the phone taking orders, and in person waiting tables, he is miserable, unfriendly, unprofessional, even down-right crude. The family argues loudly. I've even seen a verbal altercation between the family and unhappy customers that led to police coming to the scene. I really do love the food, but the demeanor and unprofessionalism of the waiter, along with the family drama on display, make me not want to go back. I'd rather drive a half hour away to another Greek restaurant where I feel comfortable and respected. read more

Was kinda un-impressed with this place. We gave it a try because it has been in business so long. The gyro was very good but thats where it ended. The spanakopita was cold on the inside and dough was kinda dry and burnt, you could see it sitting in the display case prior to purchase, and it tasted as if it had been there a bit. Pretty good Greek food, place is run by an actual Greek family and seems authentic with the major qualifier that I have never been to Greece or anywhere in the Balkan peninsula, but kinda pricey and the food did not seem earthshattering to me.. Got the Kleftiko which is grilled chunks of lamb meat with tomatoes and spinach and a cheese called Kasseri that I was not previously familiar with, at least by that name.. it was good, but lamb could have used more seasoning or marination. the side Greek salad served with it had iceberg instead of field greens.. I came by myself and they kinda ignored me for awhile before giving me a table and then seemed to be slow in checking on me at the table too. I felt awkward enough since it was Saturday evening and the place was full of couples.. the Greek coffee was made perfectly, the custard and phyllo desert was quite good. Vegetables certainly tasted fresh. this is a BYOB place, most of the other customers had brought wine.. oh bread and olive oil were served before the meal, but I was singularly unimpressed with the bread served, so that was a negative, along with the fact that the salad had lettuce instead of something greener and more substantive. read more
