If you want a place to feel womanly, this is the place for you. The bras, underwear, and pjs, are all comfortable and elegant looking. When you walk into the store, you feel embraced in sisterhood, camaraderie, and protection, like you've been let in on a little secret. Margarita was amazing at helping me find the bras I like, and consequently I bought a bunch from her during the Black Friday deal sale. I was in between sizes so I decided to buy different sizes, thinking that I would give myself a variety. So why the 4 stars instead of 5? Well, after trying on the different sizes for a couple of days, I decided to exchange one of the bras for a different size. A couple of days later, I decided to exchange another couple of bras for that same size, because I liked the new size. When I went in for my second exchange, the sales lady, an older white woman, asked the sales lady who was helping me how many times I have exchanged the bras. I was standing right there, she could have just asked me. The bras were brand new and with tags attached, even though they were on the same receipt as the others. The manner in which she asked them was rude and condescending and not the way that you should make a customer feel. You should never question how many times someone exchanges a bra - as long as the receipt is still valid they should be able to exchange as many times as they need to get the size right. read more

Had ordered some intimates online and had them sent to the store in Pleasanton. After I got home I realized I had ordered the wrong size. I phoned the store asked if they had the size I needed and could they put them aside for me as I wasn't able to come to the store for a few days. No problem they said. I've been buying bras,panties and intimate apparel at Soma for more than 5 years. I've spent hundreds of dollars over the years. They feature quality merchandise. My visit last night to the Stoneridge Mall store in Pleasanton CA was unlike any previous experience. We had received a special email notifying of a sale on bras at the Stoneridge Mall store. Bras in stock were on sale for $15 for 2 days, from 11a Sunday 8/11/19 through 9p on Monday 8/12/19. Quite a deal, considering bras regularly priced cost $60-80 each. Arrived on Monday 8/12/19 around 5:30p. Found store was pretty deserted with just 2 sales people present. When we asked about the sale, one of the clerks said the sale was only for Sunday. When we showed her the ad, she glanced at it and repeated the sale was only on Sunday. We pointed out the ad specified the Stoneridge location, dates and hours. We asked her to read the ad. She looked at it. I couldn't tell if she read it, then she asked the other clerk who said the sale was only on Sunday. We showed the ad to the second clerk. She glanced at the ad and said again, sale was only on Sunday. Clerks didn't offer any help, apology, explanation as to why sale had changed to just 1 day instead of 2. They actually just lounged against the counters the entire time we talked to them while we were in the store. Unmotivated, uncaring. Not sure what their problem was except we might have interrupted their boredom for a minute or 2. I've worked in retail and was appalled at their behavior. Definitely reported this encounter and our treatment to Soma corporate office today. They need to know how their staff interpreted the ad presented and did not provide any type of service. I received a special ad on Facebook with a special 15th anniversary sale - 8/11/19 at 11:00 am through 8/12/19 at 9:00 pm. - all bras $15.00. I went into the Soma store on 8/12/19 at 5:30pm to purchase a bra. When I asked the salesperson about the special, she said the sale was only on 8/11/19 and I should have come the day before. I showed her the ad and the other salesperson said the same. I asked if there was a manager on-site - there was not. I contacted Soma customer service with my concern about not being given the $15.00 price and included the ad I had been sent. They responded within 24 hours and said the sale was only for one day, 8/11. They did offer to give me $20 off my next purchase, but with each bra costing $58-62, that discount is nothing compared to the written discount they sent out on Facebook. I wouldn't have been as disappointed, but was disappointed in the fact that they did not honor their own ad. Definitely not good customer service or honesty. read more

The sales ladies here are very nice which is why I'm giving stars, but the problem is that Soma does not make cup sizes above G, so they cram everyone into their bras by going up in band size. They tell you they fit to make the sale (they are working on commission). The band should do the heavy lifting in a bra (and must be snug) not the straps. The center of the bra, should lay on your chest (no gap between middle ibra and center breast bone), if it doesn't the cup size is too small. Also the side structure, position of straps etc. create cleavage, not buying a size too small. Do yourself a huge favor and go to an expensive bra shop or to Nordstroms and get properly fitted so that you know your size! You can also do the measurements yourself using a european chart which will give you your real cup size. When you measure your circumference pull tight on the tape, bras stretch. There is no shame in wearing an H, K, KK etc cup size. If you are large chested with a smaller frame and have been buying Wacoal, Soma or even Lane Bryant, you are 99% likely to be wearing the wrong size bra. When you get properly fitted, you will be ecstatic. The difference is HUGE. European bra makers like Panache, Chantelle, Prima Donna and Freya know how to make bras that fit. read more

I have been trying to return something for over 1 month, Everytime i go they are closed. I called yesterday at 5 pm to see what time they closed. The girl who answered the phone said 6 pm. I got in my car 5 minutes later and drove to the store which is a 16 mile round trip for me. I was at the store at 5:30 pm, and they were closed!!! I was so upset , with the cost of gas that was not Cool at all!! I understand all stores are struggling, but not only was i returning i needed to make a purchase. Stores cannot do better if they are not available to the consumer. And it would have been nice when i called if the girl said she was closing the store early so i didn't waste my gas at $5.69 a gallon and my time. :( read more

In need of something new and well-fitted I was on a true mission when I visited Soma at Stoneridge just as they opened on a Saturday morning. I was greeted warmly by Sarah and Tiffany and spent the next hour with Sarah experiencing the best fitting and customer service ever!! Sarah was knowledgeable, friendly and genuinely interested in what I was looking for. After I found what I needed, both Sarah and Tiffany helped me find a few more things I wanted with absolute great humor and guidance. I would recommend this store, and these girls, hands down! My first time here was this past weekend, this mall has changed quite a bit since I my last experience about 4 years ago. I was with my mother and she wanted to stop into Soma Intimates, I had the impression that this store was just for people 50+ years old so I waited outside for a few minutes. Then I decided I would just window shop a little bit, browse and see what they have. My mom was trying on a few night gowns and said I should really touch them and see how they feel. Because of my auto immune disease (which is not contagious), I have very sensitive skin so I love a soft jersey fabric or a soft, high-end blend of fabrics both cotton jersey with a little stretch for comfort while asleep. Virginia was the saleswoman who asked if I had questions. She went to the back twice to see if they had an item of clothing in my size, but sadly they do not carry that size. (For bustier women such as myself they only go up to a DD in some sizes, most sizes only a D cup) I then looked at the aforementioned night gowns which were on sale 2 for $60.00, the fabric felt incredibly soft and even cool to the touch which is a plus in California! I was very smitten with these and bought quite a few. Virginia helped myself and my mother to place orders for more of these night gowns in the specific patterns that we wanted. She was extremely friendly, helpful and all around fun to have as our salesperson. I like knowledgeable people and she was that in spades. Now I have 8 more night gowns, this time in a size Small, heading to me soon! I will definitely be shopping here again soon and I hope Virginia is working! I highly suggest their super soft night t shirt style jersey night gowns called "cool nights sleep", they do sell out quickly and then poof your pattern or style is gone, so when you find them buy quite a few. You'll regret it if you don't so says my mother which is why I bought a total of 10. PS this is definitely not a store for 50+, it's great for any age that wants comfy and also beautiful (their bralettes and silky night gowns are gorgeous and soft and a better quality than VS in my opinion). read more

The only person "trained" to fit bras was on break. I was told to come back in 15-30 minutes. It felt like Pretty Woman. Typically I'm not a fan of shopping for bras. I have a small band size and medium-large cup size (usually around a 32D) and so it's often difficult for me to find good quality comfortable bras that are cute. Because of Covid, it had been a while since I was measured for a proper fitting bra, and I was in desperate need of a new one. I went into Soma, and was immediately helped by a very kind employee. I unfortunately don't remember her name, but she was extremely helpful in measuring me, providing me with a multitude of options in the size, and then figuring out what other sizes/coverages to try to best fit my anatomy. When we found a size that worked, she brought me half a dozen different styles, all of which fit me perfectly. After I decided which to buy, she also showed me all the available color options in the size and styles I wanted. I left with two extremely comfortable bras and will definitely be shopping here again in the future. read more

The merchandise itself is all right. I'm happy with the bra I purchased. The product is geared toward older women - over 40, I'd say, but it does the job. Customer service, however, is another story. When I walked in, sales associate was busy with a customer, so I didn't expect her to come & help me right away, but acknowledgment would've been nice. Nothing. After the previous customer left it took her a while to ask if I needed help. When I found what I wanted & started to pay, a male customer walked in & she greeted him, asked if he needed help. When he said he might, because he's got a picture of what his wife wants, she wanted to see that right away. He had to tell her it's ok, finish with the lady (me) first. I really wasn't impressed with her. So if you're expecting great or even good customer service, this isn't the place. read more

This was my first and last purchase from this store. I happened to pass by a palm print set of pj's as I walked out of Nordi's. I purchased the set and went home and washed them. After washing I noticed the pants were no longer the pretty vibrant green color. They were actually like a faded green with white pilt balls. So I called the store the next day and was told I couldn't return or exchange any items after washing them. I asked who doesn't wash their clothes before purchasing them? There's clearly a quality issue. The girl was no help over the phone so I went in. I spoke to the manager Isabel. She saw the difference between the top that didn't fade and the pants that did. She said I must've gotten a defective pair. She offered to exchange them for me. I did exchange them and washed the new ones and the same thing has happened. I am now told I can't return or exchange them. 2 weeks within purchase. Their website return policy says they will make exceptions for quality issues. This is clearly a quality issue and no one is of any help. I am now being directed to customer service. I will never purchase from this store again. I am used to Nordstrom's EXCELLENT service. This store is horrible. $85 for faded bad quality pjs! read more

This store has the worst customer service. I originally placed an online order to pick up in store but when I got there they charged me more in-store than online after I had to change bra sizes. They couldn't explain to me the price discrepancy and blamed it on "taxes where I live vs at the store" which made no sense. However I called customer service and they refunded me the discrepancy. A week later I wanted to exchange one of the bras because the strap was bothering me. They told me they couldn't exchange it and would only refund me the price I paid for the bra, NOT the sales tax. So if I wanted to "exchange" the bra I would end up having to pay more to purchase a new one instead of making it an even exchange. Again they said maybe the price discrepancy is due to where I live which still makes zero sense. I made these purchases in store and still have no idea how my home address is involved in any of this. This store tries to rip you off so beware. After an hour arguing with the manager I finally left and dealt with it through the customer service contact line and they were able to exchange the bra for me with no additional charges and was very confused as to why the store gave me such a hard time. I advise you not to deal with this specific store in person these people have no idea what they're doing. read more

Walked into the store yesterday at 6:35. The lady working appeared to be bothered to help me as she was swiffering the floor. After she took 5 minutes to pull up my profile on her ipad to get my bra size she fumbled around to find my sizes in the 3 bras I wanted to try. Soon after getting the first bra on, she knocked on the fitting room door to tell me the store closed at 7. I asked her what time it was and she said 6:50. I changed and walked out of the fitting room and said she was free to go. Her reply was 'thank you'. I guess closing the store early was more important than making a sale. Went home and ordered bras for store pickup. Called the store this afternoon and was told that store pickup orders might be ready in 2 days since they don't have anyone to work on filling store pickup orders. I asked if the order would be filled by Saturday or Sunday and she said 'maybe'. I will be cancelling my order. I came in to the store for the first time looking for a specific type of bra. I've recently lost a lot of weight, and asked the sale associate to measure me. She did so right away. She then grabbed a few bras for me in the style I was looking for, and also brought a t shirt in for me to put on over the bras so I can get an idea of how they look under different garments. Most of the time I'm a "leave me alone" shopper but my first visit salesperson was very friendly so I couldn't say no. The second time was a little more pushy but I eventually needed her help. LOVE it here!!! I couldn't disagree more with the previous review..things must have changed big time since 2009! I went here because I actually saw a commercial while watching my favorite Real Housewives episode. Upon entering, I was warmly greeted and immediately asked what they could help me with (a lot more than I can say for other retailers) and I wasn't entirely sure what it was I was looking for, just know I needed a new bra! The associate suggested a bra fitting and so I went ahead with it. I found out that I was in the wrong size and the associate brought me a few different bras, I liked ALL OF THEM for different reasons, they fit AMAZING and are so comfortable! They also brought me a few really cute dresses and tops (which I didn't realize they had) and the fabrics were sooooo soft!!! Needless to say, I left with several bras and 2 new dresses that I cant wait to wear when the weather warms up!!!! I went to SOMA today because I purchased a black high waisted shape wear brief in size XL, but when I got ready to wear it, it fit like a Large as opposed to an XL. It had the tag on it and I thought it would be a simple exchange to return the XL shape wear brief I had for another XL brief. Not so! I was in the store for 15 - 20 minutes trying to do the exchange. To make a long story short, Amanda, the sales associate, couldn't find the purchase in my account, so she returned my brief, but said I'd have to pay for the tax because I didn't have a receipt. I said no, and requested to speak to a manager. The manager came and found the purchase at the Walnut Creek Soma, and told me I purchased it in early July and the return policy was returns within 60 days from the purchase date. I told her the reason I was returning the brief was because the item was sized incorrectly and I wanted to do an even exchange. The manager did the return, gave me the XL brief, and paid the tax since I didn't have a receipt, but she told me she'd do it one time since the purchase was over 60 days. Making an even exchange item return was such a hassle, next time I'll go to Nordstrom or Victoria Secret where I never have a hassle returning an item. Maybe this is why the Soma store had no customers while I was there. read more

Went there on November 12th,2016 and Sarah was amazing. I needed a bigger, stronger bag to hold what I had from other stores and she willingly gave me one without buying or scoffing. Very professional and made me want to buy something for my wife just to show gratitude. She then happily sized my pregnant wife for a bra and even jumped to grab one from the back to let us see if it fit well. She's a sales lead, so if you go in, look for her. Best service we've received at Stoneridge in a long while and impressive to the max. Any store would be lucky to have workers this kind and helpful. She really made this location shine in my eyes and I cannot appreciate that more. This woman deserves a raise and a promotion. front closure vanishing back is great for bigger breasts, very comfortable Unfortunatly, the front clasp is weak and 2 out of three purchased have broken. I contacted soma through their website chat and spoke with michelle, she said 30 days or no refund. Both bras are about 4 months old and at $50 per bra they should last longer. I have been told they are making better hardware for their new bras but this helps me how? A 50 bra needs to last longer than 4 months and shame on you soma, you know the hardware is shabby because you are fixing it but offer loyal, repeat customers no help. Shame shame... read more

I went in on a Sunday and it was not very busy. I tried on a bra and needed a different size, nothing fit so I asked if they do bra fittings and was told to come back on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Then I asked the price of the panties and was told it depends if it was print or solid. Was never told the price. The only reason I asked is I didn't want to mess up the display to find the price tag. Won't be spending my money there! Customer service SUCKS! My first Soma Experience was a week ago. I was greeted right away, asked if I'd like to be Bra sized. The Customer Service was Amazing! I think the Lady that helped me was named Ramona... If so she is very personable and you can tell she takes pride in her work.
