The Apple CarPlay hasn't worked since day one and now the "inverter coolant" light stays on. I brought it in to service the inverter problem, got it back and the light came back on as I literally pulled out of the parking lot!! I could go on, but there isn't enough room. I asked him if they had a market adjustment on the car I wanted and he told me no. I had tried Plaza first but they had a 4000 markup. I drove out there and met with him and we met with the finance manager named aabie. (I guess). Anyway, when he was rambling off amounts for the car he said there was a 4999.00 market adjustment. Very shady and unprofessional sales department. Not upfront about pricing and terms and conditions. Do not work with Franswa. Unfortunately, he is a liar and manipulator. Management is completely unconcerned, too. They presented me with a number, and preliminary agreement. Franswa would only say "not much," when I asked how much money I'd put down (at least twice). When I got into the finance depot, they wanted 8k down-but I already signed the prelim agreement :( I should've been more careful. Sitting in the service department right now, clerks Anthony and johnathan are looking at a cell phone talking about "dumb f**ks," and Carela is addressing a customer without even looking up at the poor lady who is looking for someone to help her (5 minutes later, he finally looked up and communicated with the lady... whewww). That being said, when directed towards their own customers, they are very polite and thorough. The only real saving grace has been Virginia Russo in the service department; she is kind and pleasant. Very personable and caring or your concerns. I truly wish that she was at a better dealership, but she says she's treated well here. So that's good to hear. But still, confirm what you're being charged for PRIOR to signing the work order/contract. I really do not recommend this dealership, as there are many others on Long Island who may treat you as a "valued customer," rather then dollar signs. Less than 10 yrs ago, my then-84 yr old mother bought a new Sonata from this dealer and paid $2200 for a 10-yr Platinum Wrap Warranty, which has proved worthless. We recently brought the car to a Hyundai dealer in VA close to mom's new home. This dealer needed more details about the warranty beyond the insurer "CCC." I spent the next 90 minutes on the phone with Atlantic Hyundai, which confirmed that the warranty remains active and provided a phone number for CCC, which has no record of the warranty. For $2,200, I expected Atlantic Hyundai to intervene and contact CCC on my behalf, but they have refused to do so. I don't leave negative reviews lightly and left 2 messages for the General Manager of Atlantic saying I was prepared to do so but wanted to give him a chance to help. So, we decided to go to a car dealer. we Chose Atlantic Hyundai in west Islip we 1st asked for a ((Spanish Salesperson)) for the fact being my wife speaks and understand more Spanish than English, and my wife felt more comfortable. yet they advertise they have Spanish Speaking Sales person; they send us Sandra Redway which she knows no Spanish what so ever. she asked why Spanish and we advised why, but they still had us deal with her. We came to the Dealership already with a Car that we saw (which was a 2016 traverse) which was the car we ended up purchasing. well, the thing is ask me if our salesperson ended up telling you the Features or benefits or anything about the car. basically, just gave us the keys and a dealer plate and let us drive it. we basically sold ourselves the car....i forgot to mention That there was a manager named "Martin" we were dealing with to try to get a good deal because we were buying 2 cars. but at the time I only purchased her car because I couldn't find anything that I liked with my price range. Finally, 2 months later i went into the shop and ended up going over cars and found a 2021 Kona, which was giving the keys to test drive it. That was until I had ended up Speaking to John Grasso the service manager stepping in and speaking to him about the situation and He was able to inspect it and see if he was able to do something about it his technician ended up Changing the alarm sensor at no charge and that was able to fix the automatic start issue. Another issue i Had was when i went for my 1st FREE oil change, they did the oil change. a few days later i had my mechanic do a brake flush and change the brakes because the dealership recommended a brake flush. When my mechanic Lifted up the car, it seems that when the dealership Did the oil change, where the filter was, they were supposed to remove a Large plastic pc. which they DIDNT they did a quick job, and all the OIL was on the large plastic pc which was supposed to be removed..... so, they did a BAD JOB.... I went on December 16th 2024 to do my last oil change on my Wifes car which i asked 2xs when I went there and asked how many More oil changes my wife had left on her traverse, They advised 1 left i said great... so i went 12/16/2024 to do her last oil change what does the person say, the time frame was exhausted you were supposed to do it within a certain time frame. I was like Really, I came to do my oil change on my konak recently and I asked about the traverse if it had an oil change left which the associate advised 1 left BUT never told me when or how long it had to be used by nor did my salesperson advise me when it had to be used by, they just advised me that I had x amount of complimentary oil changes on both cars. which I assume the time frame were in the terms in conditions. It pays to be an informed customer AND take the advice of people who have come before you and STAY AWAY. I came in to buy a used Hyundai Ioniq Plug-in Hybrid I saw online. I was there for 4.5 hours and ended up with no car. By 3:30pm, I had my insurance bound and they had taken $6000 of mine. After about 45 minutes, the manager came back with an nonsensical story that I had to ask multiple times "what is the issue?" to get him to clearly state they didn't even have the title to the car I was purchasing. THEY ILLEGALLY SOLD A CAR THAT WASN'T THEIRS TO SELL! THEY TOOK MONEY TO SELL A CAR THAT WASN'T THEIRS TO SELL! The manager made ZERO effort to make things right; he couldn't even communicate clearly. He was too old to still be in business and should be replaced. Offensive customers service toward women. 6 weeks ago the engine died on my 2015 Tuscan. There were 2 open recalls that I was unaware of.... The engine was replaced free of charge. When I went to pick the vehicle up 4 weeks later... not receiving any phone calls back, leaving for messages for John Grasso. Out of nowhere I receive a message from Tim telling me that I can come and pick up my vehicle. I get to the service department I pick up my truck about three weeks ago and there is a rattle in the engine we're coming from under the hood that sounds like a chain. So I call Hyundai I bring the car back a few days later.... The car was in the service department for about 2 1/2 weeks, I got no response back from the service department to what was wrong with my car John claims he called me multiple times but left no voicemail for me and was unable to reach me. I went to the service department on Wednesday morning 5/27. John and Tim both addressed me with an invoice written on a Suffolk auto glass piece of paper with a quote for the new compressor that I need to pay for in order to stop the rattling in the engine. They told me if I didn't pay this price that I could take the car right now and go get a second opinion. I said I am absolutely not taking the car and I'm bringing my mechanic back here. I felt bullied into paying a number that was written on a piece of paper that did not even say Hyundai auto mall on it. These two men treated me as though I was a stupid woman that would just pay any price without any question. Once I brought my mechanic back 30 minutes later my car was pulled up sitting in front of the building running waiting for me to take it. The invoice was sitting on the front seat. Buying a car post pandemic was already a hassle due to the lack of inventory out there. Fast forward to Atlantic Hyundai who have made the financing of a vehicle an absolute nightmare. Went in to look at a 2020 Elantra. Sat with Sandra who went over my good credit score, my down payment and some other options. Overall the experience started out smooth. I was given a price of 340 a month which albeit steep was manageable for me financially. Sandra then told me to wait to do anything until the title came in. I told her I needed the car within a week as my job (as a nanny) starts up with the new school term. Sandra promised everything would be handled in a few days. This was on a Tuesday. I never received a call from Sandra or heard from the dealership until I called myself Saturday morning. They were busy and said they'd call me back. At 5:55 pm (mind you they close at 6) I was called by someone else who told me the car was ready for me to pick up. I let them know I could be there Sunday morning. They kept pushing me to wait until Monday but that wasn't going to work. I asked if I could reach out to my insurance company now to add the vehicle and they said they only work with Geico in Commack. Umm what? First of all I don't even have Geico insurance and why do I need to call a specific branch even if I did? Sounded weird so I disregarded. My daughter worked for Geico so I knew so long as I had any vehicle insurance it didn't matter where it came from. Was ready to pick up vehicle but it was postponed to Monday. On Monday I sat down to sign my papers and suddenly the monthly payment went from 340 to 400 a month. That was not what we signed for on Tuesday. They stated they reran my credit score which increased the price. Talk about really ripping someone off because they ran my score on Tuesday which was also why I included a down payment to lower the monthly payments. Sandra worked with me to assure me that the 340 was what I would be paying. I tried discussing it with the finance guy but he was too busy trying yo convince me that this what just how car dealerships worked. This dealership is an absolute joke. From the moment we walked through the door to the moment we walked out. To start with, we were greeted by a lady named Sandra who advised she would see if they had the car we wanted. She comes back with a paper showing how much the car goes for and says they have it coming August 14, 2022. She lets us know if we want it, we can put a deposit. Here's where it gets fun: the MSRP was approximately $34k... well, she comes back with a price about $10k over MSRP. Now I know with today's times we aren't going to be exactly at MSRP, but come on... $10k? That's outrageous. We then advise her we saw it on the website for a different price, which she tells us no she cannot do that because they are selling $5k over MSRP. Yet... she came back with a price 10k over. We advised her well purchase the car right now for the price they have on the Atlantic Hyundai website. She states she has to get her sales manager and ask. This is where it gets ridiculous: the sales manager, Lekwa walks over to us in a Yankee shirt, with a blazer and long gold chain on. Immediately gets aggressive with us telling us we are reading an "add" and we're reading it incorrectly. I asked him to pull it up on his end to see it's not an add, but he said he did not need to because we are already looking at it. He starts yelling at us and pointing his finger towards my brother's face telling him we do not know what we are talking about. My brother kindly asked to look over the "add" that is on Atlantic Hyundai's website together, but again the poorly experienced sales manager yelled that he did not need to because he wrote the "add". Now, I may not work in the car industry, but I know damn well, he did not write the "add". Then, when my brother tried to explain to him that we wanted to buy the car right now for the price listed online, they then stated the car was not for sale and could not be purchased now (although she [sandra] told us we could put a deposit down, and that these cars do not even hit the lot before sold). Upon trying to explain that to the poorly managed man (Lekwa), he stood up and said "I'm done, I'm done with this convo, I'm out". I mean how pathetic is that? I have never been treated so poorly going to a dealership before. I was recommended to come to this dealership by a friend who previously worked there, but after that, I would not even purchase the car if they gave it to me under MSRP. Here's a tip: train your staff some customer service. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I do not like writing terrible reviews, but I've never experienced anything like this. I really hope the general manager sees this and tries to fix this issue. Hands down, bar none, the worst car dealership I have ever encountered. I should have looked at all their 1-star ratings before I set foot in the place. Now I add my own. There is no communication among staff. They seem to feel making you wait is their God given right. I bought a car from them, paid outright by bank check and was told the car would be ready in an hour. Fast forward 3 hours (with my 2 kids in the waiting room with me) and 2 check-ins with my sales guy Sean, who assured me it will just be a bit longer, to find out there was a miscommunication and the paperwork had not been started. The manger came out to tell me it would be 20 minutes. An hour later they told me it would be ready first thing the next day. The next day comes, and they realized the DMV is closed and it will be ready in a few days. Why a few days I don't know. Following a few testy IMs (testy on my end) to Sean my salesman, he assures me to please be patient he is going to see that everything is made right. I will come in, sign the papers and be out in 5 minutes as soon as the car is ready. I bought the car Saturday and Monday night I get a call. Hallelujah my car is ready to be picked up. They ask me when I can come in. I'm pretty busy so I need it to be flexible, but they insist on an appointment. Okay, 10AM it is. When I come in at 10AM sharp guess what? The car hasn't been prepped. It will just be 20 more minutes. That turned into an hour with no end in sight. I left. Still don't have the car I paid for. I give this company a 0. BUYER BEWARE. My mother was soley looking at ONE vehicle for about 5-6 days with SANDRA( Hyundai Santa Fe )that was a limited edition AWD and told "For $10,000 cash you can drive it away no questions". On the initial test drive, this vehicle was making an odd noise and we asked Sandra if the service department would take a look into the noise in which she was told " sure no problem". After 2 days, my mother called a few times to check in on the vehicles status, received no response. After calling again, she was told the vehicle was never looked at. To move this process along, my mother asked to take the vehicle to our personal mechanic, which she paid out of pocket for AND DROVE IT OFF OF THEIR LOT to drive it there herself. After all was said and done my mother was ready to buy the vehicle. Sandra had my mother sign a deposit, however my mother realized the VIN number was wrong. The VIN number they had on this paperwork was for a different Santa Fe (one that Sandra had tried showing my mother at one point, however, this one was disgusting and my mother immediately said no to it.) Therefore, again, there was ONE specific car in mind this entire process. Once my mother brought this to Sandra's attention, Sandra said "okay don't worry about that I'll fix it". The next day my mother again noticed the VIN numbers remained incorrect. She AGAIN brought this to Sandra's attn and was told it would "be taken care of before she picked up the car later that night". Low and behold, my mother is there at 7pm, cash in hand ready to buy the one car she has been interested in the entire time. After being told to wait for about 20 minutes, she is told "oh we gave you the price for the wrong Santa Fe, this will cost us $3k if we sold it to you for $10,000, so we will give you a deal and have you pay $11,400 and it's yours at our loss". This did not even include the DMV fees etc. CLASSIC CASE OF A BAIT AND SWITCH AND MY MOTHER CAUGHT THEM RED HANDED WITH THE VIN NUMBER SWITCH TWICE. I became involved because I went into the dealership to see my mother crying. I approached Sandra to ask her how this mix up could happen even after she told my mother she would fix it and it was "just a simple VIN number mix up", Sandra immediately walked away from me and waved her manager to come over as the entire staff watched the exchange now at 8pm, an hour after my mother was supposed to drive off with the car). The manager gavemme the run around stating it wasn't a bait and switch. I asked him flat out "if your staff member was told FAR in advance of this VIN number mix up, and she had X amount of time to call my mother to at LEAST admit this so called "mistake". Then why are we here right now JUST finding out about this when my mother there with the intent of driving away with this vehicle at that moment, The manager then said " I cannot not explain how this happened, what do you want me to do shoot my salesman for making a mistake?". This back and forth went on for about 10 minutes and honestly, was like fighting with a 5 year old who was caught red handed stealing a cookie from the cookie jar. Not to mention, the lack of professionalism was mind-blowing across the board. This was a waste of time, money, and to not even get an apology after all was said and done, all I can say is AVOID THIS ATLANTIC GROUP AT ALL COSTS. We saw a used car online, and called the dealership. It sounded great! We dropped everything to drive 45 minutes to check out and possibly purchase the vehicle. When we got there, we took it for a test drive and it turned out the car was even better than expected. We have excellent credit and were all set to close the deal. From there things quickly deteriorated. The price, it turned out was nearly $3000 more than the posted price. Okay... We then waited for the finance person to give us an offer on our trade-in. After 20 minutes we were still waiting, so we walked to McDonalds. When we got back...still no trade- in offer. We told the salesman we really needed to get going, and he said: "It'll just be another minute." After three more minutes we left, and asked the salesman to text the trade-in value to us. Sandra Redway and her Sales Manager agreed to a price of $33,315 but when they wrote up the paperwork, they jacked up the price by $1,500. Their digital lease agreement doesn't allow you to see the agreed upon price when you are signing the paperwork. Once I got home, I saw that they overcharged me. I gave them the opportunity to make it right but they decided to cheat me out of $1,500 instead. BEWARE of this dealership! Afterwards, they told me they lost money on this car but meanwhile they sold it to me for over the dealer invoice price. I recently attempted to purchase a Genesis G 70 from South Shore Genesis which is part of the Atlantic Hyundai auto group. The salesman Eric was a consummate professional. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the sales manager Lekwa. After discovering there were several other incentives that he failed to offer I decided to cancel the deal. Eric was understanding and apologetic. He proceeded to start to issue the refund for my deposit. Lekwa decided to call and demanded to know why I was canceling the deal. Not only was he arrogant and belligerent, but he said he was justified in charging $2700 over msrp because he's entitled to make a profit. Ironically, the deal was set for msrp and he tried changing it. The incentives were from the manufacturer and would not cost the dealership a thing. First of all, Michael M had no idea about the deal, red flag. He asked me to send him the ad I saw, I forwarded to him my email. I asked him, what does $0 down available mean? NO response! Atlantic y is the worst dealership I ever dealt with. There was a manager there at one time Chris Pompeo, I had walked out of there, disgusted in 2018. My experience with this dealership started on April 19th, 2022 when I saw a pre-owned vehicle on their website. Sent an email requesting information on the car, and expressing my interest. Was contacted immediately telling me the car is available, and living in a different state, I was asked to place a deposit to hold the car. I placed $500 deposit, and proceeded with the purchase...! After having been approved for the loan, and all information was given to me verbally. I agreed to all terms, and was told the paper work would be sent by the 26th of April, I need to sign, and return, then arrange for shipment! As I'm leaving this review today May 24th, 2022, I have yet to receive anything.....no paperwork nor anything else! Their excuse all along has been NO TITLE!! I informed them that I no longer have any interest in that car, and please refund my $500. This request for a refund was May 19th (entire month since the initial conversation), and no refund as of yet!!!! Buyer beware!!!! This dealership is nothing short of SCAM!!!!! DO NOT BE FOOLED! I have no idea how they manage to stay in business!!! read more

Terrible service. Sketchy outfit. I never leave ratings that are bad but if this can deter anyone from going here, I am. Parts/service department take a long time to get back to you. My assigned advisor I was trying to reach for two weeks, to find out he was on vacation. I was not notified he wouldn't be there and kept being transferred to his voicemail until I physically went down there and was told he is out on vacation. The sales department is just as bad. The cost of lease/buying a car does not add up. They inflate numbers as if I was leasing a Ferrari. This is despite being aware of the current car climate, the numbers do not add up. I can go on as this experience has been a nightmare. This was my third car with them and will be my last. I wish I could give this establishment no stars. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON A SERVICE HERE!! I took my 2019 Hyundai here to be serviced since I needed an oil change, a tire looked at, and a bulb fixed. NOTHING but the oil change was performed, and not even a week later, my tire was flat. My whole car was cleaned and presented back to me beautifully, but none of my concerns were even fixed when I specifically asked 3x. Very frustrating considering the paperwork I received back said they had looked at it and it was fine. My tire happened to have a HUGE nail in it.... A month later I see "service in 600 miles" across my screen... I wonder if they even replaced the oil or just charged me for it anyways. SO disappointing. read more

Great dealership. Last night trying to make it to the gas station I ran out of gas and the battery died. I walked over to the dealership and spoke with the manager Chris and a associate by the name of Omar. They not only made sure I got a jump and gas, they totally went out of their way to assist a stranger. I was really impressed and will definitely return to purchase my next vehicle. Arrived on a Saturday to check out a Santa Cruz. Met a sharp dressed Patsy Bellomo saleman. I have been looking for awhile and was about to pull the trigger on one of these, wanted to test drive and have a close look at the trim levels. Patsy said no test rides on Saturday and did not take anytime to show me the car. He was not very friendly and almost seemed like he didn't want to sell anything, no help at Atlantic..Went to another Hyundai dealer in Huntington and they were great! My service advisor was Jonathan Roque located at Hyundai service center in West Islip, NY. I brought my Palisade in on Saturday morning, 9/23/23, for a 30k mile maintenance, a windshield wiper recall, a possible electrical issue with child safety locks signal appearing on and off and the door locks randomly locking and unlocking on top of the vehicle smelling like mold and hearing a swooshing sound when I drove. Jonathan wrote "10%" on my printed out invoice to discount the 30k mile service charge of over $600 after I asked about any discounts available. I was greatly appreciative. I asked Jonathan to keep me updated as to the status and when I can pick up the vehicle. By 6pm I still didn't hear from Jonathan. I called the number and was told that the service center closed at 4pm. There would be no way to access my vehicle because the service center was closed. They are also closed on Sunday. I asked if I could speak to someone in sales to access the area to retrieve my vehicle and was told that they did not have access to the service departments keys. I did not have access to my vehicle nor any communication regarding the status of it for Saturday 9/23 and Sunday 9/24. By Monday, 9/25, after Ubering to my responsibilities, I still did not hear from anyone. I walked into the service center and spoke directly to the manager Tim Turnbell. Tim was extremely professional and understanding. I was informed that Jonathan was off on Monday's hence why I never heard from him. Tim contacted Jonathan and Jonathan informed him that he called me on Saturday which he in fact did not. I even offered to show Tim my call log for the entire weekend. Tim allowed me to borrow a loaner vehicle because my truck wasn't repaired yet with what they found. Tim also was kind enough to credit the labor hours that was not covered under my new vehicle bumper to bumper warrantee from the labor put into the issue. I received a phone call from Jonathan that my truck was ready to be picked up on Tuesday, 9/26/23. I came to the service center in West Islip. Another man handed me my invoice while Jonathan was behind his desk and brought me to the check out area. He explained the charges and the invoice. The 10% off discount that Jonathan Roque initially hand wrote was gone. The man who explained my invoice knew "nothing about the 10% discount." He went back to Jonathan's desk and magically it reappeared. Jonathan Roque was extremely unprofessional and failed to communicate to his customer. He also was deceitful. Hyundai of West Islip really needs to evaluate the character of individuals that they hire. I will not be returning. read more

What follows will be a muted response as all of us (i.e., employees) are trying to pay bills and as the saying goes, "if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all." However, they did ask me for a review. Where does one begin? I guess at the top as in my professional experience this is about training and guidelines. If management knows they have an issue with customer service why have they not fixed it. If they do not, maybe that is more egregious. First, employees have to be consistently reminded that they "work" for me, the customer. I pay their bills, I turn on the lights at the dealership, I keep the air conditioning going in the summer and heat in the winter. Sounds egotistical, maybe, but it is an inescapable fact. However, once this is accepted the whole mindset tends to change and customer service becomes infused throughout the organization. Currently, there seems to be maladaptive corporate at this organization. I heard several employees venting their grievances right out in the open as they were walking through the waiting room where I was. Also here's another piece of advice, free of charge: get a quite alcove (a closed door would be better) to discuss sensitive issues with clients waiting for repair. As I waited for my car, one of the repair staff was given to talking to clients right out in the open so that personal details about financial and family stressors were free for all to hear. Now for the grievance. I dropped my car off for a recall and asked to wait as my drop off ride could not accompany me due to illness. The intake specialist was rude and pointed out that it was scheduled for a drop-off and not to wait for it. He berated me and stated it would be three to four hours as many repair staff (the number I heard later in my wait was 10) took off. Ten is the number scheduled off not called out sick. Fine, I was expecting it as software updates can take a couple of hours to download. Four hours come and go, nothing. I try to be patient due to short staffing which is another issue. If you know you will have less staff shouldn't one limit appointments? If the doctors are on vacation wouldn't you reduce the number of surgeries? Another two hours come and go and I finally see my intake specialist walk through the waiting room. I ask him for an update. He did not know my name, I give it to him and he disappears. In less than five minutes he returns with my paperwork and says the car is all done. I will leave speculation to the side and ask the reader to draw their own conclusions. Pre-emptive solutions? Yes, in hindsight I probably should have been more assertive, but I did not do that because staff was already super stressed (e.g., staff venting out in the open) and in my experience that usually compounds the problem. Needless to say, I will never return and if someone wants to pick my brain on a car and dealer I will advise them to look elsewhere. Let me be clear. I will NOT go out of my way to provide negative feedback but if someone asks me for my opinion I will give it. Finally, dear reader here is a lesson a former manager gave me long ago. When you marry the person you want to spend the rest of your life with be aware you are also marrying their family and friends. When you buy a car you are also "buying" their maintenance and customer service staff. Too bad there is no such thing as a negative star as this experience has been a big negative. read more

Never buy a guy from these guys. They are scumbags when it comes to service. Troy is nasty and Jay does not live up to his expectations. And the owner is "unreachable". Also the general manager is always in a meeting and will not call anyone back. It is worth just going to a different dealership and maybe paying a little more. read more

One of the worst dealerships on the Island, every time I come here it's a problem. I haven't had one good experience here in my 3 years here. Every time I get my car back I find myself calling back for something they missed/ didn't do right. I'm speaking about the Hyundai side, but i'm sure the rest are the same. Do not buy your car from here unless you have another mechanic/ technician. And if you do get service from them be ready to get your time wasted, getting mooched around. read more
