First time back since Covid and glad to see that Atlantic Manor has the same great service and food. The small bar area rivals those in NYC, with linen napkins and table clothes on the high top tables. The service was friendly and the owner always stops to say hello. We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to this outstanding Portuguese gem. Started off with delicious warm rolls and complimentary soup. My husband had the shrimp fra Diablo with peppers and onions and didn't stop raving about it thru each bite. I had the stuffed lobster which came with the best homemade chips we've experienced that came out crispy and stayed crispy throughout the dinner. The lobster was fresh and cooked to perfection. Great place. We had the red sangria, great stuff. Entrees came with white-bean soup, excellent. We were full after the hot appetizer sampler...and then the dinner came. Just too much food. I had the Paella Valencia, very good. My food coma date had the chicken, shrimp and sausage. Portions were very large and tasty. I NEVER leave a restaurant with food for the next day, well I had to. We've eaten here a couple times now. Every time the service has been wonderful and the food even better. Last night we went for a post Valentine's Day family dinner and we had a wonderful time. There were three large parties and all the other tables were full and still the service was great. I had the Rodizio and it was amazing. All the meat was perfectly cooked and there was a nice variety. My wife had a skirt steak with yellow rice and fresh cut fried potato chips (I hate to say chip because they are so much better than your average bagged chips) My kids shared the ribs and loved every bite and they know their ribs. This visit I didn't have the paella but I've had it in the past and it's outstanding and the serving is huge. If I where you I'd disregard the negative reviews here in yelp. These people can't possibly be sane lol. The place is great and we've never had anything but an amazing meal and outstanding service!!! Well done Atlantic Manor. I'm local to the area but had never been here until tonight. I had bought my husband a gift card for Christmas because he loves steak and it's not something I ever make. Despite arriving on a Saturday night with no reservations, we were seated in just under 15 minutes. I think the host's name was Joe and he was friendly enough.The place was busy. Our waiter approached us very promptly.He gave us water and came back to take our order. At no time, did he ever give us a friendly greeting, say his name, ask us if we wanted a drink (my husband had brought his beer over from the bar but I ended up drinking water all night), or ask us if we wanted appetizers. Just "You ready?" We didn't bother with appetizers although we had planned to order them.He came back about 10 min. later and filled our bowls with soup. It's complimentary with the entree but a skimpy amount. He said bread would be coming but it never came. After another 10 min., I asked a busboy for it and he brought 2 rolls. Shortly after that, I completely finished my water and started on my husband's water. Several times our waiter passed by but never said a word to us or stopped at our table.Twenty-five minutes after being seated, a girl came and filled our glasses but for the whole night, no one asked us if we wanted anything to drink. We were finally brought our food about 50 min after being seated by Joe, who again was friendly and asked if we needed anything. Sometime later, our waiter graced us with his presence and made a dumb joke that it took awhile and something about getting the cow for the cowboy steak. Not "I'm sorry it took so long - is there anything I can get you?" - no, nothing polite like that. Let me just say that at no time did we ever complain or even ask when the food was coming. Let me also say that I worked in the industry years go (I have a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management) so I am very aware what it's like to be busy on a weekend night. But that's no excuse for lack of courtesy. After we finished our meal, and we got our check, the waiter brought us back the receipt and out of nowhere started saying things like, "Not a good night for the kitchen tonight" and "I don't know what was wrong with the kitchen tonight" and "I don't know, was this your first time?" Maybe he could tell by our demeanor we were less than thrilled with him but it was like some kind of plea for a good tip. I found this appalling. It was like he was blaming the kitchen for his lack of service. Again, we had never said a word. I'm not going to tell readers not to go here - the food is good but I know that unless I can get this experience out of my mind, I would never return here or recommend to local friends. I hate to be negative because of one person, but this was uncalled for. Over an hour in there and we don't see our waiter all night and then this? In case anyone from this restaurant reads this, the waiter was older with longish hair, glasses, thin, and had an accent. If he was my employee, I'd fire him. read more

My first and only trip (so far) to this place was on a Sunday. Everything on the menu was expensive, but for good and unique food, it usually is. The price didn't scare me off, however I felt that it might have been a bit much for a small town in the middle of nowhere. Lots of things, most things, on the menu are $25+ with a fair amount of $30+ items. The menu - everything sounded good but I decided to go with the Rodizio, since its not something that you can just get anywhere else, like steak or seafood. We also ordered two pitchers of sangria, a red and white. (We were a large party of 10) The sangria, BTW, was great. We finished both pitchers. Well, the Rodizio was awesome. Perfectly cooked everything with the exception of the short ribs, which I think were WAY to fatty. Everything else was superb and cut to your desired "done-ness", rare - well, etc... So many different kinds of meat and options. It was like Noah's Ark on my plate. I can't really complain. My wife, being a vegetation, was told she could pretty much ask for anything, so she got a vegetarian paella. It was HUGE and she could only finish 1/4 of it, the rest came home. I had some and it was delicious. Never at any time did we feel rushed and the service and wait staff were excellent. We will definitely be coming back again, but for the price, make it a special occasion only trip. read more

Having visited this place a few times since its opening, my review is based on my general experience. The owner (who also owns a strip club in central Jersey) is a nice man, friendly however can some times come across as blank and dis-interested. His number 2 who is the head waiter is a very knowledgable man who is very charming and knows how to make mixed drinks very well. Rodizio. Very, very good. Salty but the restaurants pride and joy. Sangria. Awful. Atmosphere is relaxing. very dark though. owner has told me this is done in purpose however. Cost - pretty pricy for a little place in ogdensburg, NJ Service - ok. Local High school kids mixed in with experienced Portuguese staff make your service on the night a toss up. Bar - a very nice bar that seats around 15. Beer choice is limited to standard beers. cocktails are good, bar menu is simple and service us often quick if seating there. Not a place you bring your buddies as space is limited especially during busy times,where the overflow of customers waiting to be seated will be standing in the bar area. Parking - about 30 spots, very tight and at a busy time you are parking across the street and having to cross 517. Upon leaving you will likely be greeted by a local ogdensburg police car who will be spit checking cars through the highway in the local school across the road. Don't be alarmed..the local town is very safe. More parking, a bigger bar area and a more inviting experienced staff and this place could be a little gem. read more

I've dined here before and enjoyed it, unfortunately tonight was the WORST dinner I have had in my life (and I've eaten all over the world). I ordered the filet mignon on the medium rare side and it came beyond well done - borderline burnt. After about a 15 min wait, someone finally took my steak and went to correct my order. I was then served a cold piece of meat. It was so undercooked that it was cold to the touch. How could a restaurant serve a filet mignon that is cold to the touch? First off, my boyfriend wanted to order the gazpacho, the waiter comes out with the soup of the day and asks if we would like some, to which my boyfriend responded by saying he would like the gazpacho, the waiter just said "but I brought it out already". Chicken Marsala was overly salted, served with frozen vegetables cooked in a microwave. Pork chops which smelled horribly of fish - really? I only reason why this place got 2 stars is because the Serradura was pretty good, enjoyed with an espresso and cappuccino. This place is really a gem in North Jersey. Very authentic Portuguese food. We had the hot mixed sampler for an appertiser. I had the shrimp and green sauce, a friend mariscada, which is mixed seafood in green sauce, and another friend had the shell steak, which was flavored and cooked to perfection! We had the serradura for dessert, which is kind of like custard and whipped cream mixed together with cookies to eat it with. Just delicious! read more

Despite the look of the buildings nearby this restaurant is a diamond in the rough! We have just returned from 10 days in Spain, and the Paella here was 10x better than all the varieties we tried overseas. Bountiful seafood, mussels and clams, perfectly cooked and seasoned rice and such a huge portion that 75% of it is in my fridge for tomorrow. Very good service. And while we aren't sangria drinkers it looked great from all the other tables. Wine by the glass list is for beginners (box wine would be better). But bottle list and beers were good. I never post reviews but I feel compelled to write a review for Atlantic Manor. The food is truly incredible. The roasted chicken is far superior than any I have ever had in my life. It isn't just regular roasted chicken. It's cooked perfectly and the seasoning is amazing. I went with my family last night (5 people) and we all were craving it so much we came back again tonight for dinner. I have lived in Manhattan my whole life and never had ribs and chicken cooked this well. The staff is incredibly friendly which is a bonus on top of it all. My friends, husband, and I went on a Saturday night. We had been there a few months ago on a Saturday night and left after waiting an hour after our reservation, but decided to give it another shot. Everyone can have a bad night, right? Wrong. We waited a full hour and fifteen minutes this is time. The owner did come out at the twenty minute mark, apologized, and bought us a round. While that does go some way towards showing professionalism, there are limits. Once we did get inside, the wait staff was quick to get menus out and service started. The rodezio was good- they have a consistent quality and good variety. We also give their paella and shrimp with garlic good marks. All in all, their prices are fair, their food consistent, and their seatings overbooked. Avoid Saturday nights unless you have a strong battery on your smartphone to pass the time. read more

We came to dinner last night, a party of 6. It has been a New Years Eve tradition of ours....... no more. We ordered by 8:15 and did not get our meals till 9:45- all except one. The waiter NEVER came over to check and see WHY one person never got their meal- ( or to offer us any drink order past the initial- only the two people on the end of the table were serviced for drinks) which, you need to understand, ruined the meals for all of us. SInce we felt awkward eating while he had nothing, and tried to wait for his to arrive, our food got cold waiting, and we then felt guilty when we finally ate and he still did not get his meal. FINALLY the waiter came by at 10 (!!!! ) and said oh, "they forgot to put in his steak, it will be right out. " meanwhile, the rest of us were done with our meals, and had to sit and wait while he finally wolfed his down. It was ridiculous. And all that was done for him was a free pitcher of sangria, and what about the rest of us whose meals were ruined? You should have taken his meal off the check. My fiancée was craving seafood and so we decided to give this place a try! I was excited to see the extensive seafood options, but I was disappointed when my $8.50 lobster bisque turned out to be pieces of cut up shrimp in a variation of tomato soup. I got a piece of fish stuffed with carb meat. The fish was well cooked and seasoned, but the crabmeat was strange and mushy. Nonetheless, the complimentary soup and bread before our meal was delicious and the service was great. I would go again, but maybe try the chicken or steak. read more
