I came here simply to try the fried fish sandwich , because someone locally told me it was the best. I didn't know it was also a market with a nice selection of fresh seafood. The sandwich was quite good and two decent pieces of fish . What stood out was how fresh it tasted. The tartar sauce was also very good and homemade. The fries were also great and perfectly salted. I will definitely come back to try other options although who knows , maybe I will get that delicious sandwich again since it was so good !

Steamers and mussels and cod, oh my! I've written about this place before, so I must be a fan. It's where I go when I'm jonesing a bucket of steamers (in season, of course), though their fish and chips and shrimp tacos have often kept me satiated over the years. This is the kind of place where simple, and delicious seafood reigns. A comfortable dining room, space to dine alfresco (also in season) and huge sharks mouth to walk through as you enter the place! Did I mention that they're also a fresh seafood market? Lots of goodness from the briny deep to choose from and many a time I've come home with something fresh to cook for dinner. Tons of parking out back in the gravel lot (what, you'd frequent a seafood shack that didn't have one?). Always friendly and warm service (they politely ask for tips in cash) and great, simple, well-prepared food. Heck, they even have some BBQ for you lubbers out there. All cards accepted, a great selection of wines & beers and outstanding local shellfish. One of favorites on the island.

It's got a local vibe, with outdoor seating. Service is decent & food is good. A little pricey, but if you want to sit near the huge jaws ya gotta pay! Clean & helpful staff if you want to pick up some fresh fish from the market there to prepare at home.

After all of the reviews, I had to try this place out. Recently went for dinner. Appetizers we ordered were fried calamari, Mussels in white wine & garlic & a bowl of chilli. Calamari was good, a but overcooked. Chilli was delish! Mussels were good as well! For dinner I ordered the broiled shrimp with french fries. Shrimp was way over-cooked. Husband got a broiled seafood dish. He said it had no flavor except the paprika water it was sitting in on the dish. Waitress was super friendly & attentive. Quick service & everyone was nice! Cute little old style seafood joint with nautical decor & a fireplace to keep you warm!

Atlantic Seafood serves a generous portion of cod and toppings in their cod fish tacos. The quality of their fried flounder sandwich has been consistent over the years. You can order a baked potato instead of fries. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Ordered broiled flounder as takeout, and the fish appeared to be thrown into the container. The atmosphere is very casual and food is served on disposable dinnerware.

We were in the mood for seafood and decided to try this place, as we've never been here. If you're not looking for it, you can easily drive right by. Indoor/Outdoor seating options, we chose to Dine indoor. Extremely no-frills, carefree, relaxed restaurant, down to plastic cups and paper plates, which was perfect for us. Small, but sufficient bar area. For appetizers, we ordered the baked clams and crab cake. Both had the perfect coating and crunch, while the inside of each was tender. Both were delicious. Nice sized clam bits in the clams and a good amount of crab in the cakes. For dinner, my husband ordered the fried seafood platter, which included shrimp, scallops, clam strips, and flounder. He chose french fries for his side. Everything had a nice coating and was perfectly fried. He enjoyed it very much. I ordered the clam bake, which had mussels, clams, steamers, and a whole lobster, along with a full corn on the cob. Everything seemed to be steamed in a butter broth, which made it all very flavorful. It was excellent. Service was decent, and the shell buckets were quickly emptied and replaced. We look forward to returning to try other menu options. If you enjoy seafood and a laid-back atmosphere, we highly recommend it. ONE CAVEAT: They charge 3.99% for charge cards. When the receipt arrives, there are no lines to add a tip. When we asked the server, she said the system is outdated, and does not allow for lines to be printed, she has to charge the card a 2nd time for a tip - so an additional 3.99%???

We went here on a Wednesday to check out the "ladies night," which turned out to be a prime example of an ironic misnomer, but I still caught a nice buzz and a dug the vibe. We walked into the bar area, which was filled with happy, convivial people, and smelt strongly of beer. Oops. I saw "The Look" on my mother's face. But I found the hostess, and we were seated in a lovely, quiet dining area, which did not smell of beer at all. Our server, a cheerful and friendly young woman (I forgot her name, alas), bustled over and took our orders. I ordered a gluten-free bun (yay!), and she asked whether I could have fries that were cooked in a fryer where wheat was fried. I can, but that was surprisingly thoughtful! She has a friend with celiac disease. The food was WONDERFUL!! The Mommy had a Caesar salad with salmon. The piece of salmon was huge and perfectly cooked, exactly the way she likes it! My turkey burger was delicious. Not dry. So yummy. The fries were crispy! We were delighted to have tried this place, and I cannot wait to return! Also, I left the lights on in the Audi, and they made an announcement. This was awesome, as I did not want to call my brother for a jump AGAIN. He lectures me. Ugh.

The young man that assisted her was polite and excellent at his job. Staff which we knew from Daphanes were nice to see again and seem happy to be there which is great. We went in for dinner on a Saturday with my son who was in from NYC. We wanted to try the new place on the strip. The beer was good. My wife liked her wine. The good pretty much ended with the drinks. The flat bread was a level below bowling alley pizza. Undercooked, soggy, tasteless and doughy. We all agreed - it was terrible. I had the chicken Ceasar wrap - in fact we all did. We all thought it was just ok - nothing I'd care to repeat and also small for me and my son. WHBB management / ownership check out Vinnie's all day cafe in Boca Raton Florida on IG for a master class on chicken Ceasar wraps construction :). You're welcome ! Those wraps are the keys to the castle. I did like the fact that they toasted the wraps before serving. For sides we all tried something different and shared. I got the side of French fries -well done. They were just barely cooked forget well done. My wife got the sweet potato fries. They were the best thing on the table all night. And my son the onion rings. He thought they were on but next time he would opt of the sweet potato fries. If you're not wanting red meat and not wanting fried chicken that's kinda where you land on the grilled chicken Ceasar wrap. A fresh tuna wrap or fresh Tuna in a salad would have been a welcome addition or a 1/2 grilled chicken or a fresh turkey dinner, or even some sushi for some suggestions. I really hope my next trip is better. I'll be back and I want them to succeed. They got the staff part right and the alcohol but for me they need to get the food right for me to keep this place on my regular stop in list. Perhaps I'm not the target market and that's OK too. I'm hoping this place has aspirations to be a "something" for everyone place. And a place I can have a proper Saturday night dinner with my wife. Not solely a little kids fried food place on one side of the spectrum and a big kids beer guzzling establishment where they drink so much they don't need to focus on the food on the other. Our waitress asked how everything was and I pretty much told her the above. She suggested I try the burger next time. She said It's great and from Justin's. So I definitely will next time around. To make it on main street ( for me and my wife ) as more than a bar they are really going to have to improve the food in both quality and variety. I hope they make some changes.

Wow--was I wrong about Applebee's!…read more It's been years (and a few states) since I last visited an Applebee's, and I didn't expect much coming in--especially since my last experience was at a location in California. But this Applebee's in Shirley totally changed my mind. Very nice and clean. First off, the vibe is great, and the bartender Amanda is absolutely on top of her game. I usually don't eat at the bar, but this one is set up so well--it's actually comfortable to dine there. There's even a footrest built into the bar so your feet aren't awkwardly dangling and purse hooks. Small touches are so appreciated! The food came out fast, which is always a win. As someone who's vegetarian and often eats vegan, the menu didn't have a ton of options for me, but I made it work. I ordered the salmon with mashed potatoes, and got the broccoli and coleslaw. Everything came out in under 20 minutes and it was honestly delicious. No joke. Not overpriced either, and the whole meal was only 600 calories--way better than some of the other heavy options on the menu. Of course, I wish there were more veggie or plant-based choices, but hey, it's Applebee's--I'm just grateful I found something tasty and satisfying. On top of that, they had great big TVs going and this fun, interactive trivia game that we all played together. My coworkers are obsessed with Applebee's--they all have the trivia game app, rave about the buckets of Bacardi, and are die-hard fans of the steak, French fries, and some chocolate brownie-and-ice-cream dessert (still not sure what it is, but they LOVE it). All in all, this Applebee's has totally earned a thumbs up on my list. I won't say no when invited again. Thank you, Amanda!
