We have been coming to Sunset s at Senix for at least two years and always enjoy the food, the service, the atmosphere and the attention that we receive. We especially try to arrange our visits when Barbara is working- she's a terrific bartender, and a great asset to the resturant- she remembers everyone's name, what they enjoy drinking or eating- and makes everyone feel welcomed. First let me set the stage... no it wasn't a special holiday ( tho Juneteenth is for many people). We did not have reservations on a beautiful Friday late afternoon. The US open was in full swing at Shinnecock. Yet were greeted warmly by the owner, Joe and promptly were offered any area in the restaurant ( the bar, the covered porch, or the outside.) I walk with a walker so chose the covered porch. Our server, Amber, couldn't have been more bubbly, friendly and accommodating. Being in our 70's it was refreshing to relate to her. Our food took forever We sat at the bar. the bartender was the best thing there I don't recall her name. the chef was visibly annoyed about not being familiar with a recent change in the daily menu. I ordered the chicken sandwich and it was a thigh poorly battered if at all thrown on a hamburger bun. My husband ordered the fish sandwich. It came out without a sandwich. Went today for some drinks an appetizers for my birthday. got the fried calamari, buffalo wings, and fries. the food was amazing. got a french martini YUM!!! My server Amber was so attentive with an amazing personality, she made great recommendations on drinks and food. had such a great time 10/10 recommend going and asking for Amber you won't regret it. read more

Bon G and I finally made it to Sunsets at Senix after friends mentioned they liked it. Well, This venue is kinda off the beaten path...about a mile south on Senix off of Montauk Hwy...you see large boats on mounts for the winter cause during the summer this marina is Busy and so is the restaurant. It was a rainy Tuesday circa 6pm when we meandered in. Place was relatively empty so we snagged a table on the South side where if it was sunny you could catch a fantastic sunset. Anywho...we were welcomed by a vivacious young server named Jacy, who it turns out was a pleasure to deal with. We started with cocktails, mine Bourbon Old Fashioned and Bon a Coconut Margarita....both happy hour prices and delish! Their menu has so many things its hard to choose. But, we chose their Chicken Wings 2 2way and they were Delish...Meaty and Perfecto! We also had a dozen local oysters...sweet and delish also...a good start! We met Barbara, the bartender who helped us decide on our drinks. Very helpful and a delight to work with. By now, we were getting full but we went for two mains; Bon had fish & chips and I found something special on the menu...Pork Belly, Scallops on top of cheese grits was incredible def worth getting again! Well...how bout dessert!! We went with the special; Poached Pears in red wine with marscapone cheese..was the perfect finish to a great meal. This is my new favorite venue in Center Morices. If I could give this place a minus I would!' I attempted to go there for my birthday. Had a 7pm reservation. We were told we can sit outside, they brought us out to sit but was not able to get the table because they gave it away to another party and they had to bring us back into the bar area, it took forever to get our first rounds of drinks. We waited over an hour for our food, they didn't offer any compensation until we asked. Still didn't get our food. So we left and went to another place. Fantastic!!! We went for Mother's Day and had the prefix menu, what a great choice. For apps we had the Calamari, Tiger Shrimp and Octopus Salad, we all enjoyed everything! The octopus was perfectly cooked, Calamari was shareable and the shrimp was insane! For dinner we had the Pork Chop, Stuffed Flounder and Lobster Thermador, everything was impressive. The lobster was perfectly cooked with a fantastic flavor, the flounder was so filling we couldn't finish it but it was definitely fresh seafood. The Pork Chop was surprising to me. I didn't expect to enjoy the mofungo and beans as much as I did. We finished with both the Lava cake and Apple Pie wonton. I will be thinking about that wonton for days! Abominable service. Two hours waiting for food that never came. Staff was super rude. Ruined our night

We waited over two hours and NEVER were served. The staff apologized but then became aggressive when we approached the servers by the kitchen for the 3rd time asking what was going on with our food. The treatment was beyond unacceptable. A waitress pushed me and then became extremely aggressive with my husband who literally was just trying to figure out what was going on. This establishment ruined a celebratory dinner for eight 17 year olds finishing high school. PLEASE NEVER go to this restaurant. They are cruel and beyond uncivilized. read more

This place is truly an embarrassment of a restaurant. If I could give zero stars I would. Aside from the trashy, obnoxiously loud music I was greeted with upon arrival, I was treated with the utmost disrespect throughout my time. It took TWO HOURS to receive three appetizers for a table of 8 highlighting the zero sense of urgency this staff shares as a whole. Each item was subpar at best and is incredibly overpriced for their terrible service. My friends and family were also racially profiled further impacting the horrible experience we were left with. All of the staff is immature and oblivious which is a product of their poor management system. Please reconsider this restaurant if you have TASTE or a HEART. Do better. read more

I would hear recently for a private event and I could see that the food was really good and the ambience was nice in the restaurant. Everything seem modern and it up to to date. I tried a bunch of different selections and everything was very tasty. The drinks were also very good as well. I give it three stars because the service wasn't the past waitress would come back in at the beginning of the event often, but after that the service wasn't good as the event I down. We kept asking for specific things and the waitress said she would get it but then got distracted. The service of a bar was slow as well. There was only one bartender and the bar had several people. It didn't seem like he was trained to be a speed server so it took a while for us to get drinks. He was making one by one. Again, the food was really good, but I also think the flow of the restaurant is a little awkward as the only private party room has a sliding door that the people who are sitting outside, kept trying to access and come up into the private room. I wish that there was a sign or some sort of way that the people dining outside would know that they cannot go through our private room to go to the bathroom. I would try their food again if I'm in the area but it wasn't an experience that I would go out of my way to go back to this restaurant again. read more

Sorry, very disappointed. The food is very salty, and pricey for the portions. Had to wait over 20 minutes for order to be taken. Subpar service. $32.00 for a piece of bland, roasted chicken with 3 tiny slivers of zucchini underneath. There were about 4-5 small pieces of lobster in the lobster roll with maybe a handful of fries. The mixed drinks, well, no comment. Can smell the cigarette smoke from people smoking right outside of the fenced in patio. The bathroom decor is beautiful! Will not be going back. read more

Went for lunch. This is the first time we have been here since it's reopened. It's beautiful inside. The perfect temp on a hot day. We sat on the patio. Our waitress was very attentive. We ordered an app (chicken wings) and 2 items off the lunch menu (fish sandwich and chicken tacos) all was perfect and delicious and the perfect portion size for lunch. We were invited to drive out to this venue for a GTG with friends. Ordered a chicken breast, which was very thick, juicy and perfectly cooked. Also ordered a smash burger and fries. The burger was very good and the fries were ok. Prior to eating, we had a couple of cocktails. The outside bar only had 2 bartenders, one of which was working like crazy and the other seemed to disappear and when she was there, was very slow. It took 14 minutes to get 3 drinks (margarita, bottle beer & seltzer with lime). Ambience was ok, although you would never know that there was water there. We will return next time there is a good band there. read more

Hidden gem!! It was our first time here. We arrived and thought the place was very nice and clean inside and out! Everything we ordered was amazing! Our server Neeva was always checking in on us to see if we needed anything and to make sure we were enjoying everything. She was amazing!! I'm going to be fair and balanced. This was our third time eating here and fifth overall visit. We came in last night with a table of 4 for dinner and to see the band. The interior is beautiful, spotless and was dressed for St Pat's. The staff was attentive and friendly and the bad was excellent. Dinner choices were the Roasted Chicken, Smash Burger, Sunset Burger and Fish and Chips. Food was delicious and well prepared. If I stopped here we would be at 4 stars but it's time for the other side of the story..... The drinks are very light pours for the prices which make it difficult. Burger prices are also a little high considering the portion but you can understand the economics which are pushing food prices up everywhere but not the alcohol. Profit on wholesale spirts is still significant enough to provide a proper mixed cocktail or a decent whisky pour. Same drink at Buckley's is twice the volume for a lower price. We will try again during summer happy hour considering the beautiful outside bar and desire to help a local business succeed but highly recommend ownership reconsider drink price points and ratios. Food: went for lunch... the best fish n' chips I've ever had, fresh fish beautifully prepared, clam chowder to die for... my beautiful wife thoroughly enjoyed her skirt steak cooked to perfection and beautifully presented... Service: excellent, friendly and professional... very nice Here's the biggee in my opinion: VALUE! Yup, an excellent value... now, we all know that fish isn't cheap and with Steve's talented preparation... fabulous... forget the other "also rans in the neighborhood"... why go someplace else and pay more but get less? My sunset has set on Sunsets At Senix. We waited 20 minutes before our Waitress came to the table. Waited another 10 minutes after having asked for water. Flat Coke and worse Flat Beer. The Manager had to approve rejected the beer and a Bloody Mary that looked like water. Don't do the Caesar Salad. It was chopped salad fitting in the cup of a soup bowl. Dressing was store bought. Left a not very good review about Senix about a year ago because our experience was just not good...well, what a change...we have come a few times and each time it's a little better - better food and service and today was such a nice time at the outside bar with Barbara! Loved this place! The new owners of this space considered every detail of the ambience. Get the duck! It was amazing- best I have ever had. It's served with this sweet potato casserole that was incredible. Real comfort food. We also had the Brussel Sprouts which were to die for. The hubby got the smash burger which he loved. This review is based on nothing but lack of service. We went on a Wednesday night and while I understand they just opened, the service was not bad, it wasn't there. I was seated and then no server came to the table after 25 minutes. I asked a server if she was ours and she said she could be. Which leads me to believe no one was assigned to my table. I then waited another 5 minutes and no one came so I lodged my displeasure with a manager who apologized and said she would make it up to us but at that point, I wasn't sold on getting quick service so I went somewhere else. Just had our daughter's baptism luncheon here and everything was perfect! We had about 45 guests and We set everything up with owner Joe in advance and it went off without a hitch. We opted for the handhelds buffet option and there was plenty of food - all of our guests said how delicious it was! We were off in a separate room overlooking the marina and our guests were able to go outside too to enjoy the views.
