Well, it's the only restaurant on Davis Park, so it has to be good! My fiancé and I ate her last night while on Fire Island. We were promptly seated outside. The view is gorgeous. It's right on the beach and we were able to catch a beautiful sunset. As an appetizer, we had fried calamari which was delicious. My strip steak with Demi glaze and my fiancé's dish were both great. I hate the crispy fries they serve with it, but that's just my personal preference. This place only accepts gratuities via cash. If you don't have cash, there is an ATM inside.

Ask the Community - Casino Cafe Fire Island

    Are young children allowed?

Yes the Casino Cafe has many food options for children everyday. On the Casino Bar side children are allowed Monday to Friday until 8pm. Sorry Saturday and Sunday are just for adults at the bar.

Are pets allowed on the deck by the bar?

Unfortunately on the weekends it’s too crowded for dogs. Especially when the band is playing. Monday to Friday is never a problem.

Listen, I'm just as surprised as you…read more I tend to be wary of very expensive restaurants on Long Island. Many of them charge city prices with mediocre fare, and truly, Chops was never on my list because of it. With that being said, a friend and I were looking for the most bang for our buck during restaurant week and since Chops was on the list, we figured, why not? Inside is dimly lit with red and black hues throughout. The staff was super kind (and honestly had jokes) throughout the night. For starters we ordered the baby lamb chops, I ordered the salmon and for dessert, the banana pudding. It did take a while for our food to arrive but I guess that's as expected with restaurant week! The lamb, buttery and salted well. A welcome surprise considering how meager it looked on the plate. The salmon itself, well cooked with a lovely pistachio crust. But my favorite dish of the night was that banana pudding. It was overwhelmingly packed with caramelized banana flavor and I loved it. My friend raved about her porkchop and cheesecake. For the amount that we paid, it was such a satisfying meal. With all that being said, if I had paid market price, I'm not sure I'd be quite as happy. But, overall, its a good, solid steakhouse to try out!

We had a minor hiccup when the wrong steak was brought out, but the staff immediately apologized and the manager came over on their own to check in. Even though we were completely fine waiting, they went above and beyond by offering everyone in our party a free drink of their choice, which was a very nice touch. The only downside for me were the drinks. I tried two different ones and they just weren't my favorite -- next time I'll probably stick to my usual margarita. Overall, everything else was absolutely wonderful and I would definitely return.

First you are served garlic bread with dipping sauces which the bread bey itself is delicious but add in the dipping sauces and it's insane!! i wish there were more than 4 pieces but given the portion sizes of the rest of our meal, I'm glad there wasn't more. For appetizers we had the fried calamari. I am not a huge calamari eater, but I will say it was fresh and not rubbery. The marinara sauce was very complimentary to the calamari without being overwhelming. For entrees we both had the rib eye steaks. My husband had the garlic mashed potatoes and I had the roasted both were excellent potato choices. The steak was seasoned perfectly. It was tender and cooked perfectly. The steaks were so large that neither of us finished ours. I also really enjoyed adding the dipping sauces from the breads to my steak. It was awesome with our without it but loved the dipping sauces! My only suggestion was I would appreciate my water glass being checked on and not having to ask for it to be refilled. Other than that service was attentive without being intrusive. We cannot wait to go back!!

We started out by sharing the fried calamari appetizer which was light and crispy on the outside and tender and tasty on the inside. The house made marinara sauce was a welcome addition. Our Caesar salads were fresh and flavorful. I particularly liked the shaved parmigiana cheese on top. For our entrees, I had the rack of lamb, cooked just the way I asked for it, medium. I loved the au jus which added an another dimension to the flavor. The lamb was tender and tasty. My husband had the 12 once filet mignon rare. He was so pleased that it was served exactly as he asked for it. He raved that the filet was absolutely PERFECT! It was so tender that it practically melted in his mouth. He truly enjoyed every bite. Our waitress was attentive without being overbearing. The ambiance was dark and quiet. We both agree that we can't wait to return to The Holstein Grill Steak House for another meal. This time we'll have to save room for dessert.

My husband and I had our introduction to Chillingham's Westerly on Saturday, August 22, 2026. This…read morewas our first trip to Westerly to dine at this steak house, keeping in mind that we're in CT around the Navy Base so we aren't very familiar with the Westerly downtown footprint. Upon entering Chillingham's we were immediately greeted by a smiling, happy to help face. The entry way was clean and didn't feel as if it was closed in, hard to access, and it didn't feel as if I was an interruption to other customers enjoying their meal. The atmosphere was easy to slip into and felt highly comfortable, especially for an upscale steak house. Accessibility is a hard feat for Chillingham's. In the Westerly downtown area, they are tucked in behind the main strip, and their access area is a hidden drive beside a secured parking lot. Once we had located Chillingham's, which wasn't an easy task, signage is well marked from the RI direction but not from the CT direction. By "well marked" I mean the restaurant is struggling with city ordinances for signs and other businesses not sharing their buildings for directional signage. The parking lot is quite small and hard to maneuver in. We ended up parking on the main street and walking down. This was not unenjoyable at all and would have been even more pleasant had it not been sprinkling. The downward street to their building is not well lit, again, not belonging to them, Chillingham's is hard pressed to fix this. The entrance to the building was clean, easy to enter, and well kept. The online reservations made it very clear that there was an upper seating area where steps would be essential or a downstairs area. This is an excellent way to prepare diners and allow them to customize their experience at Chillingham's. While the stairway was open and spacious, there was a significant amount of grease on the stairs. This not only is a significant fall risk for diners but must impact the Chillingham's staff as well. Understand that the upstairs area is beautiful and spacious and has a wonderful at home feeling. However, with restrooms located downstairs and staff using the stairs for food transportation, greasy stairs are just not safe. During the visit, we opted to sit upstairs. The music level and noise levels were excellent for an enjoyable dining experience. There is plenty of room between and around tables ensuring a private, comfortable meal with plenty of room for staff and patrons to maneuver without causing any interruption to meals. Lighting is on point throughout the restaurant. Intimate and cozy while being bright enough to see clearly. The meal was amazing. I have not had a steak cooked to that perfection since my father passed away many years ago. The sauce on the steak was pure perfection. My husband enjoyed the prime rib and has nothing but excellence to say. Without using the word excellent 17 times in a row, I'm not sure how well to express the quality of the food served. Taste was divine and there was no question as to if the food was locally sourced. You can taste the freshness. Our waiter did a fantastic job ensuring we had a wonderful meal. He was very familiar with the menu; in fact he described the special so well I was ready to skip the appetizer and have the main course immediately. His demeanor was positive and proactive; he knew when to make small talk and when to make the exit. He repeated the order back for confirmation and upsold both the special and dessert, making his job done perfectly. We didn't feel rushed or ignored at any point of the visit. The menu was easy to read, understand, and portion sizes and prices were clearly displayed. Allergen information was clear on the menu as well. Overall, our visit to Chilllingham's was very enjoyable and we can't wait to visit again. I give 9 of 10 stars, only loosing the last star for the difficulty in locating the restaurant.

The biggest issue was the 8-oz filet, which cost $58. It was extremely charred--so much that I had to remove a significant amount of the char just to be able to eat it. For a $58 filet, I expected much better. The drinks were also disappointing. 3 out of the 4 we ordered did not come with a garnish, which made the presentation feel pretty lackluster. The $12 Seedlip mocktail was especially disappointing. It genuinely tasted like water with almost no flavor. For a $12 drink, I expected considerably more. All drinks were served with boba straws. They were also out of many items we wanted, which made ordering frustrating. By 7:30 they were out of the wedge salad, baked potatoes, baked stuffed shrimp and the pork chop described on the menu. The service started okay, but went downhill during the meal. Once our food was served, she never asked if we wanted another round of drinks, it felt like we were basically forgotten. After she dropped off boxes, it took another 20 minutes just to get our bill. We were sitting upstairs surrounded by multiple unbused tables, which definitely didn't help the overall atmosphere. The area was also fairly loud. There were 5 people in our party, with two people splitting one steak, and the bill was ultimately split three ways. We were also charged a $10 split plate fee, which was another thing that didn't feel great given the overall experience. I will say the service wasn't terrible the entire time, and the restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere, but there were just too many little issues throughout the meal. Between the over-charred $58 filet, flavorless $12 mocktail, missing garnishes, unavailable menu items, dirty tables, and the long wait for the check, I expected a lot more for what we paid. Overall: 1/5. I wouldn't be in a rush to return.

The dining room was lively but we had a nice table and soon had water and bread, which came with a delicious sauce of some kind that had vegetables and cheese in it. It was so good they should sell jars of it! We ordered some shrimp cocktail to start (those were some giant shrimp, although it was only three and four would have been a nice even number) and then I had the rib eye for my main. It doesn't come with anything so I ordered fries on the side. That steak was outstanding! The flavor, the texture...everything was amazing. It came out on a sizzling skillet and it tasted as good as it looked. It was also so big that I took half of it home for lunch and if possible, it tasted even better the next day. I was very pleased. The fries were also exceptional and even though the serving was big, I ate them all. I couldn't help myself! The Hits: Extra Thick Cut Bacon: Absolute perfection to start the meal. Thick, savory, and packed with flavor. Surf & Turf Sushi Roll: A standout appetizer! Great combination of flavors and super fresh. Strawberry Sorbet: Served on top of our dessert, this was a surprisingly brilliant touch--bright and refreshing. The Room for Improvement: The Ribeye: The steaks overall were good quality, but the execution on my ribeye could've been better. The fat wasn't rendered down properly, which left quite a bit of chewy gristle that should have been melt-in-your-mouth tender. The Lava Cake: A bit of a letdown. It lacked moisture and tasted more like a mass-produced, pre-made dessert than something baked fresh in-house (though again, that strawberry sorbet topping saved it a bit). Overall, It's a decent steakhouse spot with some killer starters, but given the reputation and price point, I was expecting to be completely blown away. Worth a visit for the appetizers and atmosphere, but there's slight room for refinement on the entrees and desserts.
