I Jeff T purchased a brand new 2014 Toyota Prius at Atlantic Toyota which is located on 200 Sunrise Hwy, Amityville, NY 11701 on May 2nd 2014. I received a call from my Sales Rep "Jose Castillo" on May 11th "Mothers's Day" to come back to the dealership in order to sign a DMV form. Mr. Castillo told me I must come down A.S.A.P or the Plates and Inspection on the 2014 prius will not be valid. I then asked Mr. Castillo "why wasn't all this handled at the time of purchase when I pulled of the lot with car?" He didn't give me an upfront answer and just told me to come down again A.S.A.P. Even offering to drive to me to sign the form. I decided to come down the next day on May 12th 2014 , under false pretense believing that I would simply sign the DMV form and be done. When I arrived Jose Castillo greeted and escorted me and my witness Daniel Ramos to the finance Department . There I spoke to a man by the name of "John Morgan" the "Finance Manager". Mr. Morgan at that point told me that the "main reason" I was there was to sign a 2,500 dollar extended warranty coverage for the vehicle. I simply told him no that I was not interested, due to the fact I already have extended coverage through my insurance company "Geico". As Mr. Morgan was explaining me the benefits of the warranty, and as I realized something wasn't right. I told him no again, then I asked him to just let me sign my DMV form so I can continue to plan my evening. I even tried to negotiate the price of this extended warranty nonsense so I can just sign the "DMV" form and be on my way. He said no, again I have to sign for the whole 2,500 dollars. Mr. Morgan at that point told me If I don't sign the warranty then he would not to let me sign the DMV form, and threatened the deal will not go through. Even though I had the bill of sale for the purchase on May 2nd. Then I told him if thats the case you can have the keys and the car back. Then asked to have my trade in back which was a 2011 Prius. Which I did not sign the release for. John Morgan had me and my witness Daniel Ramos talk to the Sales Rep Manager "Lekwa Nnate" so they can convince me to sign for this warranty. I also told "Lekwa Nnate" I'm not interested . "Lekwa Nnate" also informed in an arrogant way that "we are in the business of making money, it doesn't matter by how much we over charge you on a car ." John Morgan then got frustrated , the verbally said "I don't know why I even had you come down here, I don't need your signatures on anything. I'm ripping up the paperwork !" At that point I called Toyota Corporate to file a complaint. I also had advise John Morgan not to "Forge my signatures on anything." Then my witness "Daniel Ramos" asked John Morgan if the 2011 Prius was still mine. He replied "lawfully the car is still yours." Then I asked John Morgan "finance manager" to give me my title and keys back to the old 2011 prius. He replied with an attitude and said no. Then my witness "Daniel Ramos" decided to call Suffolk County Police to hopefully come down and resolve this matter. When they respond they said "when there's a cop available they would send one down." I decided to call my insurance company Geico, and have them tow my 2011 prius out of the Service Department side of the building , where my old car was being kept. I was gonna have the car repaired or do a trade in at another toyota dealership. Being that this dealership(Sunrise Amytiville Toyota) I felt were completely out of line, for having me come down there under "false pretense" and also aggravating the situation by threating not to let me sign my DMV form then threating to rip it up. When the tow truck finally arrived to tow my car out of the premises, a mechanic came running out then told the driver that he could not pull the car off the lot. I told the mechanic that "John Morgan" the finance manager said the car was lawfully still mine. The tow driver didn't know what to do, so he dropped the car and pulled off out of the lot. At that point "Lekwa Nnate" and 5 other sales reps came out and yelled "get off the property, your trespassing". I immediately started walking off the lot. "Fred" one of the sales reps told me that the 2011 prius was no longer mine. I replied to him by saying that again "John Morgan" the finance manager said the car is lawfully mine. "Lekwa Nnate" then told me to just get off the property ,and also cursed at me by saying "GET THE FUCK OFF THE PROPERTY." As I was coming close to the main street "Lekwa Nate felt the need to keep using the "F" curse and repeating get the fuck off the property. I recently helped my niece purchase a RAV4 - we went into Atlantic Toyota because they showed the largest selection in the trim level and color she wanted. I did my research prior to going to a dealership to get a feel for pricing and negotiability (it varies by model and trim level - depending on how "hot" a particular model is). There are plenty of on line tools available for free - take advantage of them! I knew the RAV4 was very popular so it might be tough to negotiate as good a price as I wanted. Also - my niece was pre-approved by her bank for the amount she needed given the trim/options she had spec'd out on the website. I met Joy on my first visit to the dealership last week (my niece had an emergency and had to cancel our meeting at the last minute) - so I took Joy's card and told her I would be in touch in a few days to schedule an appointment (I live in Manhattan). I followed up with her via email and set up an appointment for Monday 6/23 at 5pm to discuss the purchase. Joy had her manager Addy at her desk as well when we arrived. There was none of the usual back and forth "running to ask my manager" business that often occurs at dealerships. All negotiations occurred right at Joy's desk with Addy right there. I made it clear I had done my research - I knew the model/color/trim and what options my niece specifically wanted and had a "rough" ball park number I wanted to be in as far as purchase price (which was the "great price" as noted on a car buying web site). In addition - my niece had previously purchased her current car from Atlantic Nissan (in 2010) - so Addy was very agreeable to offering a "friends and family" discount to start with. Addy came up with a number - which was actually a very fair price given the RAV is very popular - but I had a lower number in mind from my research. After a bit of haggling - we ended up very close to my target purchase price. Once we factored in the financing incentive offered by Toyota we ended up below my target (by a couple of hundred dollars). Deal struck - we shook hands! Unfortunately the exact model my niece wanted wasn't in stock (they had sold out the 6 Magnetic Gray models over the weekend prior to our appointment) but Joy and Addy assured us they would get it by the end of the week. In fact - it came in the following day and was ready for pick up today (June 26th). My niece will be picking it up on Friday. I see lots of negative reviews on here - but I have to say - nothing could be further from my experience thus far. Car buying is stressful - it's a high dollar purchase in a bit of a "wild west" market place (car dealerships in general). But if you do your research and go in with a very good idea as to what you want and what a fair price is - it takes away most of the stress. "Will Blackwood" another sales rep then pushed me from behind and said "your not a gangster" "your not a gangster", you can't talk to the boss like that." I at that point I told Mr. Blackwood where is this word "Gangster" coming from" what are you talking about" "You cannot touch me, and I can respond back to "Lekwa Nnate" if he disrespects and curses at me." When I finally arrived into the main street and I was off the property. "Lekwa Nnate" then told me "go the fuck home and get the fuck outta here". Then I cursed back, then and argument ensued. "Lekwa was in my face cursing and yelling at me with full profanity. As the other 5 other sales reps were circling me. I was nervous, but i still stood my ground and cursed back. One of he sales reps grabbed "Lekwa" and told him to calm down. Lekwa then called me a "fucking loser" then "SPIT AT ME" I immediately backed up out the way, so the saliva wouldn't hit me. Couple of sales reps grabbed Mr. Nnate , as I threatened to call the cops again. "Fred" the other sales reps says to "please do not call the cops," "and to come back to the dealership tomorrow"and that they would rectify the situation. Not to mind "Lekwa Nnate" for his actions. At that point I told them I would never come back to this dealership again. When they went back inside the building, the police showed up. Officer Keith Charley, asked me what happened I told him and the other officer that sales manager "Lekwa Nnate" SPIT AT ME", after the dealership had me come down here to sign a 2,500 warranty when they simply told me I was here to sign a DMV form .The officers went inside the dealership to look for "Lekwa Nnate" but of course he already left along with Will Blackwood. I have the police report, for proof. I will never go to this car dealership for the rest of my life. I want this deal cancelled or renegotiated. This is a travesty and a horrible experience. I as a second toyota purchaser, should not have to go through this barbaric situation. I would love for Lekwa Nnate and Will Blackwood to be reprimanded. I'm recently wrote a letter to DMV, and currently writing to Consumer Reports, Better Business Bureau and Yelp. Theres no way where any human race,creed, or color deserves to get "SPAT ON" or "PUSHED", cause there aggravated that I do not want to sign a 2,500 extended warranty! ..... ...... I am never going back to this dealership till the day I die!!!!! I've already contacted "DMV" Toyota Corporate , and most importantly my lawyer. I'm in the process of pressing full charges against 'Lewke Nnate and Will Blackwood, if they don't not apologize to me immediately. Stay away form this place, the worst place ever. Our experience began with the vehicle we were intending to look at being sold as we were driving from Brooklyn to the dealership, leaving us extremely disappointed. However, that evening Orddey turned a bad experience into what turned out to be one of the most enjoyable car buying experiences my wife and I have had. He called us at home and apologized, and promised to keep looking for a similar vehicle. He kept in touch and several weeks later he called me and told me that the FJ Cruiser we were looking for had just been traded in and asked if we were still interested. He recommended we arrive at the dealership before it opened the next day due to the demand for that vehicle. We drove over at 7:00am on Saturday, arriving fifteen minutes before it opened at 8:30am. He immediately hooked us up with Frank Pugliese, who was a pleasure to work with in going through the vehicle, the paperwork, and finalizing the sale. The financing stage, which is usually less than enjoyable, was quite the opposite in working with Frank, who really was patient with us as we decided on the various services to go with. Because the vehicle had just been traded in, it would not be ready for delivery for at least 24 hours, but that didn't keep Frank from sitting with us and answering all of our questions about the vehicle and showing my wife all of the features. While we weren't able to drive our new car home that day, they offered to deliver it to us in Brooklyn when it was ready! While they say that you only have one chance to make a first impression, I do believe in second chances. And they certainly came through during their second chance with us! Orddey is a rock star for sticking with us! And Frank made our time there extremely enjoyable! We couldn't be more pleased with our experience at Atlantic Toyota and will definitely return for our next car! read more

I took my mom's 3rd gen Pruis to these scam artists after I drove it while she was away without telling her, the "service now" message came on. The staff seemed professional and kind. After the service they showed me the brakes and how the pad were low and the rotors are rusted from lack of use. The money craving jerk who was helping me that day was furiously pushing me to spend over $1.2k. I told him my mom is out of town, he replied I should call. I told him she lived in nowhere Vermont with no service. He asked if I could just pay for it. Obviously I couldn't afford it. After 5 minutes of trying he finally just gave up and told me to come back and get it fixed within the week at most. He made it sound like the brakes were completely shot which they still had a few hundred miles to go. Leaving the place, I felt like I got something done today. When my mom returned I realized I created a massive problem for her. I find out she never goes to Atlantic Toyota because they made her change her brakes well over 10k miles too soon with her last car. She also discovered the bill in the mail where it revealed that they counted it as getting the car serviced at 45k mile mark. On the phone, before the appointment I was well assured it was for 35k mile mark since the car only had 33k miles on it. These guys are con-artists, never should have ever gone here. I would go somewhere a little more out east to Sunrise or Riverhead Toyota. They are a lot more personal and set you up with great deals if you show your loyalty ask my mom explained after. These guys are just looking for the quickest, biggest buck. I just feel so taken advantage of, its sickening. The engine on my 2002 Dodge Durango had been giving me trouble for about a 1 1/2 years. I kept it going by having to add a great deal of oil every month. This past Saturday the engine finally gave out on me while I was driving on the Belt Parkway. I needed a new car asap but I have poor credit and I am self employed. When I walked into Atlantic Toyota I was assigned Efrain Pagan as my salesperson. From the moment we were introduced Efrain proved that he was a nice guy, knowledgeable about his inventory and determined to get me in an excellent vehicle despite my challenges in getting credit. I was upfront with Efrain and Efrain was honest with me. He showed me several cars that were in excellent condition and I finally decided on a a used 2009 Rav4 that was in mint condition with only 53,000 miles. Efrain and the entire team at Atlantic had me driving out their lot with the car in 2 days. I just Leased a 2018 Tundra TRD Limited Truck in Inferno. Nelson Pacheco & Tafawa Lee were AWESOME. I told Nelson exactly what I was looking for, not only was he very accommodating but he turned it around in 40 hrs. We started talking on Wednesday of this past week and by the time all the paperwork was done and financials, I am proud to say I picked up my truck today. Tafawa Lee who is my finance specialist worked magic on the turn around time for all the approvals we needed to get everything done ASAP. This review is for their service center on 145 Albany Ave right off of Sunrise Hwy. I bought my new Toyota Corolla in western NY, but I live on Long Island so I have been taking my car to this location for service over the past year under the Toyota Care program. I have been their twice now and the experience has been great. You are able to sign up online for an appointment and select the services you want performed. On the website it lists the prices for the services so that the whole process is transparent. You pull right into the garage upon arrival and then head into the waiting room. It has many (~40) comfortable seats and there are multiple large HD TVs to watch. There are even desks for people who want to bring their laptops or study while they wait. A standard appointment takes less than an hour and the personnel explain to you the condition of your car when they are done (tire tread depth, breaks, any other findings etc.) I will definitely be going here for a long time. -Andrew read more

So, I felt the need to write a review about my experience with Mr. Ben Manning of Atlantic Toyota in West Islip. Having had my share of unpleasant experiences with salesman in the auto industry, I was immediately impressed by not only how knowledgeable Mr.Manning was but how genuinely attentive he was to my needs. Although assertive, Mr. Manning never once came across as pushy or desperate to make a sale. He seemed more interested in making sure that I was comfortable and happy with whatever decision I made. I gave Mr. Manning my price point and he assured me that he would do his best to make sure that I got that or very close to it. We recently leased a 2015 Venza from Atlantic Toyota. It was a very pleasant experience from the moment we walked In right up to the time we drove out with our new car. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. I can't say enough for our salesman Joe Handerhan. I went in with my leasing app and true car pricing. He worked with us and I was very happy with the monthly payment. We love our new car. I went back the next day to the service department. I wasn't sure about the unlock lift feature with the power tailgate. They were very helpful and friendly. We are very happy we went to Atlantic Toyota. My sister and brother in law have been leasing from them for years. We will definitely be back. We are only sorry to hear that this is the last year for the Toyota Venza. We really love this car. I've never felt so welcomed to walk into a car dealership. This is something I normally dread, but my sales guy, Will Blackwood, was terrific. He didn't BS me at any point. Just gave me a great deal. It was simple and easy. I walked in and the General Manager, Peter greeted me at the door. Normally you just see these guys behind their desk, but he offered me a drink and brought it over after introducing me to Will whom I had been in contact with. I had shopped using the Edmunds quote request email and it worked great. Atlantic Toyota wasn't the cheapest, at first, of all of the dealerships. Once I told them what I had received elsewhere, they beat the deal for me and honored every word they said and put it in writing. For some reason it always seems impossible to get anything in writing from a car dealership. Its so refreshing dealing with a dealership that you can be proud of. read more

A good friend of ours told us about Atlantic Toyota and what a good experience they had when buying their vehicle. Last month, I had the pleasure of purchasing a Toyota Camry from Atlantic Toyota on Sunrise Highway. I have nothing but positive things to say about this experience. I was in dread of purchasing a new car, as my last experience, at another dealership was fairly awful. I was quite pleasantly surprised at how friendly and knowledgeable Ben Manning, my salesperson was! He answered all of my questions, and walked me through the process in a respectful and patient manner without high pressure sales tactics. When I had a difficulty with getting my insurance cards (the insurance company's computers were down) Ben found a way to help out and I drove the car off the lot that day, despite the difficulties. Oct 12 2015,I gave the dealership the salesman Ricardio,and finance manager Jessica 5 stars because the were just GREAT in handling the sale of a new Toyota Tacoma.Ricardo was a no nonsense salesman he explained everything to me and was able to make me a deal I couldn't refuse.Jessica the business manager was equally as great and after I sat down with her she was able to save me a few dollars more by suggesting a longer lease and I was TRULY grateful for that. She was absolutely a pleasure to work with. She was efficient, nice and explained everything we needed to know. This was by far the best shopping experience I have ever had when buying a new new truck. My salesman, Will was very polite and very informative. He was able to answer all the questions I had on the Highlander and he gave us a test drive on three different trucks without hesitation. The last car I bought was at Penn Toyota and when I went back there, they treated me like I didnt matter. I dont understand why a dealership like that would through business out the widow like that.
