I visited the dealership after I had gotten an email from Sandra that this weekend March 30th and 31st - Atlantic Toyota was offering employee pricing and if you are one of the first 20 callers you will get a remote start too. So I called Sandra made an apt and was there on Sunday at 11AM when it opened. She put me in contact with Jason (one of the sales staff) and left me at his mercy. After discussing what kind of highlander I was looking for he walked me into to the lot and kept looking in about 20 highlanders trying to find a 7 seater for me to look at (me and my wife followed him back and forth) Once he couldn't find a 7 seater - he said let's go in and I'll check my inventory (wish he did that first). He was able to find one, and then he started asking me what I was looking for. I said simple Highlander XLE lease - 36 months 10K miles a month. He then asked me if I had any offers to which I said I have a quote from a lease broker but since you are offering employee pricing I don't think he could beat that. He then started throwing numbers at me trying to get me to give him the number I had in my head. At that point I TOLD HIM CLEARLY - I AM HERE BECAUSE OF EMPLOYEE PRICING. There should be nothing you have to calculate. It is what it is - just tell me the price and we can proceed. Then he said I am here to make money for me. So I can't give you a deal in which I don't make money. I was really taken a back. He then said the four letter F word too in front of my wife. At that point I told him that he is disrespecting me and my wife and I should just leave. He then said ok - sorry - I'll get you the numbers. He walked away and then came back with Mike (a guy who sat behind the desk in the middle). Mike then started asking me what is the Number from the lease broker. I told him the same thing. I am here because of employee pricing - just give me the employee price and if it's good I'll take the car or I'll call the lease broker. He then offered me 450 with 10K miles. I said ok thanks and I got up to leave. It's amazing that a lease broker can offer me a price significantly less than Toyota (less than the price at which Toyota sells its car to its employees). So I didn't feel like wasting any more time. As I left another sales person looked at me and said you are leaving so soon - and I said yes - bad experience and then I heard mike say - yes leave - yes leave. I have never felt so humiliated and disrespected. I then called Sandra several times and even left her a message but didn't hear back as I wanted to share my experience with her and also to point out that this employee pricing thing was a nice gimmick. I hope that you look into this and I hope car buying process gets better. read more

We came in to look at a used 2010 manual forester listed on the website for $9500. After the test drive our salesperson brought up the fine print of $695 and $1995. We thought, a little shady but the car was what we were looking for and they were willing to wave the $1995 fee. We come back again a few days later and brought the car to our family mechanic. The head gaskets in the engine were leaking, the flangels needed to be replaced, and the exhaust was corroded. We went back to discuss what they could do. They were surprised that the car had said defects... even though their service department had looked at it. It's a $1500-$2000 fix. Seemingly big oversight considering our mechanic said it had clearly been cleaned out to clear the leak. To us it seemed that got the car on a trade-in, cleaned the leak, and hoped it wouldn't be detected. We offered 8500 to start if they were willing to fix JUST the gaskets. The manager comes over and says he had no idea anything was wrong with the car so either he truly didn't know and the service department is incompetent, OR he did know and hoped to sell it to someone who didn't get the car re-inspected by a mechanic. Either way, it didn't look great for them. They said they would call us when they figured out what to do. A few days later, after receiving no call back from them, a new salesperson calls and asks if we'd like to come in for a test drive. We re-explain the entire situation. A day later he tells us they will not fix the car but that we should come in and work out a deal. We offered $7500 and he said he couldn't agree to that over the phone but that we should instead come in person (for the third time) and we could reach a deal. $11,460 is their final offer knowing full well it's more than the car is worth, with or without the serious defects. Overall, a frustrating waste of time. Beware of their shady business practices and clear lack of professionalism. Beware the service department as well... they were "unable" to detect the major issue that took our mechanic about ten minutes to find, and one minute to show my husband. I don't include the salespeople's names because I don't fully believe it's reflective of the individuals but is definitely reflective of the business as a whole. Trust the yelp rating... read more

NEVER GET FROM ATLANTIC TOYOTA OR HYUNDAY. If I could ever give a place is zero I would want to give this place a NEGATIVE 6 f*cking million. Every single time and I mean EVERY single time I go into this place I have an issue. First time, a long time ago, was Atlantic Hyundai when I bought a car (from Ryan dumb ass kopping) (car was given to me with fishing gear and chocolate all over the place from previous owner) they never told me got into an accident is supposed to shake like crazy and continued to charge me $200 to fix said shaking EVEN THOUGH I HAD A WARRANTY just to tell me "that's how the car is". I'm sorry, but no car is "supposed" to jerk my entire body around while sitting there ? Even corporate were assholes and manager Tim turnbull shook my hand unprofessionally and oddly and grossly with his left hand. Should've walked out when that happened. ON SEPTEMBER 30th of 2021 I had an appointment to get my oil change, which I was told would be complementary till the end of my lease for the TOYOTA I was forced to get due to how bad my Other car was, even though they told me it's normal. I was told this two years ago when I got the car that my last oil complimentary oil change will be the time I give the car up. Another dumba* Tim Keehner, says "no your free oil changes expired" I walked the f*ck out cause I've had enough. This place has put me through too much distress. To top it all off, when giving my car back, THEY GAVE ME THE WRONG CAR !! First time at Hyundai when my car was there they told me it wasn't!!!!!!!!!! My recent purchase here was the first painless interaction with a car dealer ever. I traded up to a new model and from the online interaction to the appointment to have my old car appraised and the new one priced every aspect was much better than dealings with other dealers. Pricing was fair. Yes, I did have to endure the 'let me go speak to my manager' dance but it was quick and painless. They did initially low ball the trade in but quickly met in the middle. The best part was how accommodating they were despite my ineptitude. I forgot to bring the title and assumed I could put the entire balance on my credit card. Either could have derailed the deal or at least sent me home without a car to come back with title and check book, but they did not. I am beyond done with this place and any Toyota service department for that matter. These dealerships are the biggest rip off when it comes to repairs. The final straw for me was my latest repair, a new tire pressure sensor. I was charged a whopping 356.00 to replace 1 tire sensor! The part costs 100 dollars, that's fine. But over 200.00 labor!!??? Almost 2 hours of alleged labor to install a sensor in a tire??? Would it be an entire day's worth of work if I needed all 4 replaced? It's no wonder their waiting area is no where near where they fix your car. This way you have no idea of actual labor time on your vehicle. They can tell you anything and clearly they do. They also always get you by telling you that it's 140 dollars or something similar to just diagnose your vehicle. So by doing that they put you in the position that you almost always have to go ahead with the repair. If you decline the repair because of the cost or any other reason, you just threw away 140 bucks. I called a mechanic recommended in my neighborhood and asked him what I would be charged to diagnose and replace a tire sensor. He told me it would be 135.00 including the part and it was 1/2 hr of labor. It just further proves how Toyota rips off their "valued customers." From buying a new car, to get getting it serviced and the constant up-selling they do, the greed never ends in these dealerships. All they care about is money! Then they wonder why they have the reputation that they have. Do yourselves a favor and just find a good local mechanic. Their math doesn't add up and they try to get you to pay more than the sticker price of the car by asking YOU what you want to pay per month. If you give an amount that adds up to be too much they will pounce on you Do yourselves a favor and tell then that isn't how its done. Atrocious service -- do not expect this dealer to service your car in anything resembling the time frame committed and your car will leave with more problems than you arrived with due to their incompetent, arrogant staff. Took the car in for servicing at 8 AM to replace a defective part covered under warranty (second trip: the first time they said they had the part, only to discover after 5 hours of "inspection" that they did not have the part). Was promised that the car would be done in a couple of hours (latest by 1 PM). I called at 4, then 4:30 for an update and no one was willing/able to explain what was going on. At 5 PM, after calling multiple times to just get a status, I was told that the car would not be completed tonight (they were completely fine with just not bothering to call the customer and inform them of the delay), they have no idea why it wasn't completed, that they would not provide a loaner and that I would just have to figure out how to get to work. Icing on top was the fact that when asked when this would be completed (or if) tomorrow, the supervisor said she could not guarantee anything and it may take more than a day (she also had no idea). Glad to see Toyota takes care of its customers. Cross this place off the list of dealers I'll be buying my next car from. *** Update *** I would give this place negative stars if possible. A day after I received my car (finally -- a day later than promised with an explanation of "it was complicated"), I noticed that the heating/cooling panel was not connected (would not power on). I returned the car to the dealership and they admitted that they did not connect the wire completely (a problem in and of itself, as it speaks to their incompetence and lack of assiduousness). Fast forward another day and I realized my GPS navigation unit was not receiving signals. I assumed, just like the heating/cooling panel, that the incompetence of the workers at this Toyota center was the cause (i.e, that they failed to connect ANOTHER wire). I returned the car 5 minutes later I was told that the issue was not electrical in nature and if I purchased a new navigation DVD (170 dollars), the problem would magically go away. This made no sense to me, as translocation data for GPS signals does not magically change once a dashboard is replaced (even with a hard reboot as satellites, you know, follow a defined trajectory unless blown out of space). Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I ordered the part on my own (30 dollars from another dealership) and a weekly later installed the DVD (uploaded perfectly). I returned to the dealership to say that I installed the new software (as directed to be the cause of the issue) and they said they would not touch the car, it was clearly a faulty DVD, and that they had no way of verifying that the GPS navigation system was not broken before it was brought in to replace the dashboard under warranty. They (Tim and the "head mechanic") said I would have to pay a diagnostic fee, in addition to replacing the navigation system, as this was an easy job and there was absolutely, definitively, no way that it could simply be a loose wire (the GPS would, allegedly, spit out errors if it was not receiving signals). They said they are running a business and they need to make money and they can't simply look at every car that is coming in for service. They did not understand why I wanted my mechanic to look at it instead of them and that I should just pay them to take a look (hint hint because the car had nothing but electrical issues once I brought it to them). I was made out to be a liar and to be an incompetent and unreasonably client. I clearly declined as I thought this was a scam, and though not a mechanic, understood the rudiments of automotive electronics. Surprisingly, everything they said was a lie. Every single thing they said turned out to be untrue. I brought the car to my local mechanic and explained the situation. They were shocked to hear that the dealership thought that electrical issues tied to the dashboard were not their problem if they replaced the dashboard. After an my mechanic found the issue: a disconnected wire. Not only disconnected, but hidden far away on the opposite side of the dash. They fixed it for no fee (I paid them anyway for their consistent and honest record of service) I will be contacting Toyota directly with these details, in addition to the service records. Not only did they match the deal they did a little better. The salesman, Jermaine, help to get the deal done and hurried the process so that I did not have to miss my sons Karate belt tryout. Committed outright fraud from pricing of vehicle to all the extras. How about a 2005 Camry LE with 81,000 miles for $14,000 even though advertised on their website for $11,988 less $2000 discount. John Crovello, the salesman confirmed the price. Now add in $1400 in oil changes, $2500 in warranties, etc, etc to total of sum of $21K and change at $320 per month for 60 months. The total sale price came to $21,252.20. How is that for a deal? Remember now, you'd be getting a 2005! If I could give them negative stars...I would. The transaction was a mess. They tried to get us to put more money down when we made the purchase due to their error in checking trade payout. The finance team is rude and fairly incapable of handling a customer. The sales person "Herbert" was friendly and responsive UNTIL the purchase was complete...after which we struggled to get a call back when after a few days we were having problems with the vehicle. Had to call repeatedly and only when the lovely woman at the front desk got me through to Chris one of the many sales managers did this get resolved. Fast forward a few months later we realized they did not give us all the paperwork. I needed one document that gave a breakdown of taxes paid. My wife called four times, the first time the finance manager became belligerent saying we had the paperwork...we did not. He then stated he didn't have time and was not at his desk and would call us back...he did not. So we called again and again and again...no response. I finally gave in and called from work and spoke to Mo one of the many Sales managers who was able to find the document and email it to me within minutes...5 days and a manager to get a document that we should have received originally. Do yourself a favor DON'T SHOP HERE! Repeating go somewhere else. They don't know what their doing. Yes they can sell you a car but they have no idea what to do with a lease buy out. My 22 year old son leased his first car and when the lease was over went to them to buy the lease out. He had to finance the balance. The sales person we spoke to didn't know how to do it and gave us over to someone The second person had to ask what to do as well. After three hours there the paperwork was ready only thing missing was a form from Toyota leasing. Was told they would take care of it and send it to the DMV to get a title and that we should expect the title in a mor two. This was in October as of mid February still no title but a letters from Toyota financial as well as the DMV asking why it's not titled. I have called Atlantic now many times to inquire about it only to be told to speaks to Lauren in their DMV department. I still haven't heard back from her after many messages. I tried to speak to the General Manager only to be told he is not available for two weeks which I don't believe. I have a complaint into Toyota corporate but they can't get an answer for me either. Bottom line not going to Atlantic again nor am I buying a Toyota again. It's Honda from now on They replied to this review and I spoke to them on the phone. They were all apologetic and said they would make it right. Told them to had already taken care of it. Very poor customer experience from this dealership. Did all requested paperwork before going to see a specific vehicle to finalize lease price. That was the easy part. The worst part was being told to pick up new lease at a specific time and NOT being told it would take at least 2 hours to finalize all paperwork!!!! Unless you speak up you are ignored, and when I pointed out to manager they owe customers a realistic expectation of how long process takes I was told " you have to wait for everything today." I pointed out that if they took the time to inform their customers about the average wait time that would be fine, but NOT telling them is inexcusable. Hard to have a bad thing to say about this place so far. I leased a new Toyota from a different dealer and it came with Toyota Care. So far I have had my 5,000 mile and 10,000 mile services at Atlantic. For the second appointment they told me to drive right over that same day. The service area is huge, you drive straight into the garage to drop off, and very clean. Both services were quick, about an hour, and the service lounge is nice and big and comfortable as well. Will was knowledgeable in all aspects of the models we were looking at and once we decided he worked relentlessly with his manager Adnan Contractor to help me stay in my budget and get the car I wanted. Adnan was understanding to my bottom line and found creative ways to save me the last few dollars to make the deal. I ended up buying a 2016 Toyota Corolla S Plus in a beautiful black color with a matching interior. The dealership didn't have that particular model in black, so Troy went out to the Bayshore dealership to pick it up for me. I also received the car with a full tank of gas and the manager gave me a great deal as well. I would also like to thank the financing manager Tafawa Lee for his kindness and professionalism. Atlantic Toyota - My new 2016 Toyota Corolla S Plus - Auto Parts & Supplies Near Me - West Islip, New York

Sent my 20yo son who is not auto savvy, to get a New York State vehicle inspection. NYS sets the inspection fee at $37, no matter where in NY you go. He is told that everything is ok with the car except the windshield washer motor connection to the wiper is faulty. He is told that the car cannot pass inspection the way it is, as it is dangerous. The estimated cost to repair is $70, for a total of $110 (inspection and windshield washer motor repair). He authorizes the work for $110 and when he goes to pay the bill, there is an additional $44 for windshield wiper blades. He is told that it was necessary to replace the wiper blades for the inspection to pass. He sends me a photo of the bill, which states: "Found wiper blade arm loosening up on vehicle. Inspected and found wiper arm separating from window motor. Re-secured wiper arm to vehicle. Re-checked and all ok. Passes inspection". I believe we were ripped off. First, despite the fact that my son authorized the $110, it was for an alleged windshield washer motor issue vs merely securing the wiper arm. Are they for real $75???? I will attempt to upload a photo of the $70 nut that allegedly had to be tightened. Secondly, the additional $44 for wiper blades was not authorized, excessive and inappropriate. For a total of $166.24, Atlantic Toyota Scion taught my son a lesson, which our family will impart to our friends and relatives on social media. If you are wondering if we attempted to resolve our displeasure with Atlantic, we did try. No response after responding to their phone text message, asking how did we do............nor did we receive a response to their emailed survey. PS: On a different subject, we recently purchased a 2016 Camry and a 2017 Rav4 at Sunrise Toyota, after a deal could not be reached with Atlantic Toyota's salesman and sales manager. Stay far away from here! They have no problem making a deal but had to argue to honor it. The mechanic working on my 40k truck broke an stripped lugs, scratched the otherwise perfect paint on the truck and even gave me an illegal inspection due to the headlights being installed incorrectly and cutting my 3rd brake light wiring! I had to have the wheel studs and lug nuts replaced, luckily the tire did not fall off! I also had to buy extra parts just to get the truck to drive straight as the truck they sold and warrantied was not properly lifted. Now no one responds as i am still waiting on the warranty to be dropped as I would not trust them to touch the truck ever again and also to be reimbursed from the damages that their mechanic inflicted. I have contacted the gm as the used car manager is very hostile and has zero interest after you take the keys. Unfortunately my complaints have fallen on deaf ears. Learn from my mistake and stay far away! Update to response below: The request to change parts was discussed before purchasing, I actually wouldn't have gotten the truck as the offered price for the trade in was less then what I wanted. Manager didn't have to accept the deal but he did. The original tires on the truck had only 10psi in them when test driven. Even after airing up they actually shook/vibrated the truck from being so worn out and cut up. I would have had to get new tires once I left if I didn't use my original tires but regardless, this didn't alter the suspension to pull to one side of the road. The lift that came with the truck altered it improperly. The headlight came with the truck and was installed improperly. All the mechanic had to do was remove 4 screws and rotate it 45 degrees. The 'alignment' that was also done, i took to another shop where it was so far off it didn't even register on the computer. The only other parts swapped were the bumpers(8 bolts each) and the tire carrier which I brought the stock one to switch off and told the mechanic an manager to throw the aftermarket one in the back for me to install. That is not 5 hours of work, maybe 2 hours if that included destroying my wheel studs/lug nuts, messing up the wheel alignment, the mechanic leaving his socket hanging on my bumper from stripping the bolt, and scratching the paint. 2nd update as BBB closed my complaint after a single response from them which tried discrediting my claim of the legality of the inspection. In NY state you are required to have a functional 3rd brake light which mine had the wiring cut from the mechanic. This can be found on the DMV website document cr-79. I also apparently have to wait 8-10 weeks for the warranty to be removed but was able to be put on immediately. I'm sure I'll end up paying for those 2+ months even though I requested it removed days after purchase. An apparently after ruining my wheel studs/lug nuts and wheel alignment, I had to bring it back again so that they could try again until they acknowledged they couldn't fix it an sent it elsewhere. Great way to get out of reimbursement for the mechanic mess up. So for future reference if you buy a vehicle their, you have to keep taking off work to go in, let them destroy the vehicle and eventually they'll send it elsewhere. read more

Worst dealership ever. Had car in for an oil change and service, and they emptied my oil but only put one quart into my Prius. I realized it after a day or so and had to add 3 more quarts. When I called the service manager, he said it couldn't be and would not offer any recourse. I stopped back there to see about getting a used car for my son to go to school and got the worst service. The salesman took a phone all on his cell while he was walking the yard with me and my wife and disappeared and never returned. We went inside to advise anyone that would listen but got no one that helped so we just left. I ended up buying a car at the Toyota in Yonkers because I refused to deal with them. I brought my Prius back for oil change and service after about a year. I figured I would give them one more try since they are located a couple of blocks from my office and it would be easy to drop off and pick up. I told them the car had 160,000 miles on it and wanted them to check everything. We'll they came back to me with an estimate so $1200 for brakes, and a lot of other expensive recommendations, but they were not happy that I refused everything but basic service. They didn't bother to check anything else and the very next morning I got stopped by the police for a tail light that was out. When I told the cop I just had it in for service and showed him my bill, he let me go. I got a text message from the store manager about a week later, asking me how their service went. BEWARE! They don't tell you when you buy the car with the Remote Connect package that the Remote Start will expire in 6 months and you will have to pay monthly for that 'service'! What a scam! $8/mo or $80/yr! For something you have BOUGHT! You can't separate it from the rest of the services and you have no button on the fob to start the car remotely. read more

Scam artists and liars. I called about a car I was interested in and was told it was available. I made an appointment for the next day to see it. Before I wasted my time driving 35 minutes away, I called to confirm the car was available the next morning. I also asked if the $1995. Down payment required was in addition to the advertised price. I was told it would be waived. Ok, I said I'll see you in an hour. After arriving on time, I waited 15 minutes until a "sales associate " came out and said the car was sold the night before. Classic bait and switch. "Don't worry we have other cars". Sure, at much higher prices. I wouldn't do business with these people ever again. I bought a car from them a year ago and after an epic battle got a decent price. But that was after they tried to overcharge me on everything under the sun. I wasn't born yesterday. This dealer wrote the book on bait and switch. I emailed 3 local dealers for a 2018 C-HR. I had a legitimate offer of $280/mo. (including taking back my Scion lease and accepting the vehicle as is), but the person who emailed from Atlantic Toyota (Victoria Rivera) said they could do the same deal for $183 per mo, and they would put the deal together and I wouldn't need to wait, "the car would be ready", so I made an appointment. When I arrived the person I "had the appointment with" pushed me off to a salesperson (Shamika Luciano) who had no idea of "the deal" they offered. Her first "offer" was for $299/mo. After sitting for over 2 hours and having them inspect my Scion, I got my deal: $260/mo, 36 month lease, 12k miles per year, take back my Scion as is, and include floor mats. I was scheduled to pick the car up tomorrow and today, after I requested it, they send me the "purchase agreement" that wasn't given to me on Monday. IT WAS CHANGED. They DELETED the language I had added about taking my Scion back "as is" and the floor mats. When I called the sales manager (Mr. Lee) I was told he REFUSED to honor the deal I had signed for, and that since the dealer had never actually signed the purchase agreement they were not bound to it. The fact is that the sale manager DID agree (verbally followed by a handshake) to the terms agreed to in the dealership, in return for me increasing the lease payment from my $250 offer to $260 per month. *** STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP.
