So Atlas , is frost and foremost a space devoted to displaying art , and secondarily the main fine dining restaurant for the St. Regis Atlanta , which Lewi also owns ( along with Atlas). The Atlas wine list and unique flights are world class . They also feature very hard to find flights of Bourbon and Whisky which my husband like. The food is excellent with fabulous ingredients, courteous staff, dimly lit, romantic/relaxing darker ambiance open to gardens with pockets of brighter areas centralized in dining area. Back lit wall bar features a variety display of wines and executive brand liquor choices , sparking or still water, craft specialty beers . Valet service available . Service - 4.5 Stars - Extremely knowledgeable staff. Would have been 5 stars except it was pretty dead and I had to flag the waiter down a couple times since we were seated near a waiter-walking path so he often just flew by instead of checking with us often. Food - 5 Stars - Everything was great. Sourdough bread was my favorite from the sampler, and the chef's appetizer was the perfect little pastry with cloud-like potatoes inside. We also had the Perogies, agnoletti, and sprout salad. All were delightful. I opted for the burger after I saw it was made with wagyu beef, then the waiter told me the brioche bun was made in house along with the dipping ketchup and maybe other aspects. The double stack was giant and the meat melted in your mouth The fries were plentiful but not memorable; probably my least favorite part was I was too full to care for them anyway. The Peruvian Cacao Pod was our dessert choice. My colleagues thought it was alright but I loved it... the ice cream and mousse filling made it nice and light plus the cocoa crumble was tasty. The after-dinner complimentary chocolates they serve in a cute box are the final icing on the cake. Parking - 4 Stars - No public parking there and valet is $5 + tip Ambiance - 5 Stars. The hotel! Food, starting with the amuse, was delicious and interesting: for dessert, we told the waiter that he should just tell people to have the frozen rose thing. Have been going to Atlas for a very long time and it has been phenomenal. Our last experience was not, it was very disappointing for a lot of reasons. We were sat at a booth near a door that kept opening and closing and bringing a lot of noise and cold air, we asked to move but were told the rest of the tables were reserved. Our dinner ended up being over $1000 for 3 people because we asked for a recommendation on a red wine by the glass and was recommended a $40 a glass wine. The service was not up to the Atlas standards and our waiter disappeared for long periods of time. Overall it was disappointing and we felt a little taken advantage of by the waiter. read more

I've been blessed to have eaten across the country and world at some amazing spots but never while looking at a few million dollars of fine art. This was so far beyond the generic TCG, Mortons, Ruth what-the-f is her name, blah blah blah crap that we drop top dollar on. Start with the decor. The space has a warm feeling without the dark wood paneled pretentious crap mentioned above. The bar has limited seating but arm chairs are laid out in a manner that allows you to have a conversation and contemplate the day prior to your meal. If I could be so bold as to recommend a fine small batch bourbon while appreciating the Chagall displayed in perfect light. Moving on to the dinning room, I'm sure it's everyday that the unwashed dine beneath works of Picasso, Matisse and Francis Bacon. We had a team of exceptional servers that fully explained the small but well varied menu. I chose the Vidalia Onion Soup to start and Lamb Loin for the main course. The food was simple, complex, well crafted and perfectly executed if I could be so verbose as to include all of those adjectives. This was truly a dining experience. For those who get upset at having to wait, I'm sorry but people will flock to and pay for value. I was shocked at how busy the dining room was on a Monday night. Three of us had an awesome dinner here. We started with the oysters, rabbit confit and Waygu beef pierogi. All of these were great. The Waygu beef pierogi was the best fish of the night. The rabbit confit was served over handcut pappardelle, it was a great starter, light but rich. Dinner was Venison with barley porridge and parsnip. Delicious. Steelhead Trout with flageolet beans and squid ink pasta. Blue Ridge Trout with mustard greens, cranberries and sweet potatoes. Superb dinner, each plate was beautiful. This place has serious problems. My guess is many of the reviews are paid for. Everyone knows I write honest reviews. I'll start by saying everything starts with the first interaction. Ours was on Monday, June 20 around 7pm. We were met by a clearly agitated and hostile hostess. She treated us with such an arrogant and condescending attitude, that to say she was rude would be a compliment. She went on to tell us they were overwhelmed and couldn't handle any more people. Remember, it's a Monday night- what happens here on a Friday? LOL. By now I was just in awe that this person represented restaurant attached to a high-end brand like the St. Regis- I went on to say we were guests at the hotel and that's when she said, "well we're not part of the St Regis, we're a vendor" so we don't have to treat hotel guest with any kindness. Wow, how about just treating people in general with kindness? That would be a great start for her. Anyway, stay away from this place. They're attached to St. Regis Hotel so they can overcharge you and humiliate you to boot. So, you're not really at a St. Regis property, just a "wannabe" "Vendor". Plenty of great restaurants and bars nearby. In fact, we went to The Capital Grille, and they were kind, it was amazing, and the food was delicious. read more

First, every dish I had was pretty much the best version of the dish I've ever had. So I was at work kind of late (my office is a everyone leaves by 5-6, it was 7:30ish), and my co-worker tells me, "hey we're going to dinner". I'm never one to pass up free dinner, so I'm like "ok". And that's pretty much how 5 coworkers and me ended up at Atlas to eat up a canceled reservation. For my courses, I had the squash soup, soft shelled crab, filet mignon and the passion banana. Everything was delicious - the only thing that wasn't the best I'd ever had was the crab - I am from New Orleans, so I have high standards for seafood. That said, it was pretty damn good and kudos to the kitchen for doing a version without peanuts for me. A little warning: the passion banana is not very banana-y and is quite complex - it has like 8 or 9 different flavors, which can be a little mind-blowing (I am a simple man). The breads were great, and I ate way too many of them. I highly recommend the pretzel. Atlas also has a great wine list and a very knowledgeable sommelier. Service was great overall. read more

Soooo for full disclosure, I made reservations for Atlantis and showed up for our party of 4 reservation to find out I mistakingly made it for the wrong place. Have no fear, the hostess was able to make a few adjustments and 20 mins later we were sat and our party was none the wiser lol. Due to timing, we agreed to just order a few alacarte items in leu of the full tasting course menu. We will definitely plan to come back for that as I'm sure that's an amazing experience. The dining room is so elegant with the birds, feathers and arches everywhere. To begin, one of the waiters poured hot water on what looks like a marshmallow on our plate with flowers where it opened up to a hand towel to wash our hands before beginning our dining experience. The waiter then brought out a few mini dishes that reminded us of Alice in wonderland with a few appetizers. Each one was amazing and so unique and we were told they change weekly. We then elected to start with the king crab and mushroom soup. The king crab is exactly the same as the Garden Room. It's presented on a bed of ice, sea shells and dry ice underneath, so when they pour water on the dish, the mist appears. It's definitely our favorite item on the menu. The soup was honestly nothing too special, so I would skip that. We then decided to share the filet and the fish. The chef nicely split and presented the dishes on 4 plates for us which was a nice touch. The waiter presented a box where we could choose which steak knife we wanted to use to cut our filet. Everything was delicious and worth ordering again. We sipped on our champagne and enjoyed the mini dessert ending they delivered to the table. It had a few chocolates, cotton candy and gummies. RIBEYE. I'm coming back just. For. That. What a *fabulous* 40th birthday for my husband. The ambiance, the bar, the service, and the food were TOPS. We enjoyed every moment, and were treated so well by everyone. It was really an incredible restaurant. The wine selection was fantastic, and our entrees were delicious. He got the dry-aged ribeye which he said was the best piece of steak he has ever eaten in his life, and I agree, and I got the lamb chops. Don't miss this gem! My experience at Atlas was horrid. I was extremely underwhelmed, utterly disappointed and felt disrespected. The service myself and my guest received was deplorable. I booked a private room for my birthday. I had guest fly in from: Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, St. Paul to attend. To start, the delay between courses was too long. After expressing my concerns to the server as well as Julien Gobin, no change was made and service continued to be at a snails pace. Two of my guest had to send their entree (Steak) back due to incorrect temps. Our server should have had the guest cut into their steaks before exiting the room, just in case it was not cooked to their liking. After we informed the serve of the issue, those guest waited even longer to receive their meals. When they did have their steaks placed in front of them, they didn't have silverware. My four year old daughter, who was in attendance, waited almost 45 minutes for chicken nuggets and fries. It took another 30 minutes for her to receive the Orange juice I had order with her meal. When my bill arrived, there was a $250 bottle of wine on it. My table did not order a bottle of wine. Julien Gobin, the manager on staff, was condescending and rude when I informed him of the numerous issues we had encountered during our meal. He actually slammed the door several times after exiting the room. I had a room full of guest, spending hundreds of dollars each, I expected more! The final straw is when one of the servers came back with my bill and payment saying "his manager said the bill was short by $17". I counted my all cash payment twice and I had my best friend, who is a CPA, recount the money before handing it to the young man. Honestly, the server or the manager should have counted the money in front of us. With that being stated, myself and my guest did exactly that. We count all of the cash in front of him only to find the bill was not short, it was the correct amount I intended to give. I can not believe myself and my guest received such lack luster service It put a dark cloud over my birthday celebration and for that I am infuriated. I had to share my experience. read more

This place surprised me. It wasn't on my radar as a must try restaurant but wow - it should've been! Our server recommended the oysters and beef pirogies to start. The oysters were fried with pickled peppers, avocado mousse on top - incredible flavors! The beef was tender and the potato dumplings flavorful. Great start! For entrees we had the fresh fish - cod over mushrooms, broccoli tips and wild rice. I love that they didn't try to over season this dish. Simple fresh and light. Second entree was bone marrow crusted tenderloin with mushrooms, wax beans and puréed potato. Wax beans aside this, too, was a perfect flavor combination. Overall so impressed with the food. I couldn't give it the 5 stars only because service was a tiny bit slow and dessert was not even close to the quality of apps/entrees. The vibe is modern yet classic - dark colors and dim lighting, full of collectors art. If you ask, your server will bring you an iPad showcasing the art. Came here on a lazy Friday afternoon for some food and a cigar. Sat out on the patio. Everything was really outstanding! The food, the service, the weather, not that you can really control the last one. Started with the Crispy Wianno Oysters. They were really great. The Pickled Peppers are a nice accompanying touch. I had the Pan Seared Virginia Wreckfish as an entree. It's one of the best pieces of fish I've ever had. The dish is served with Fennel, Baby Carrots, Pearl Onion, Broccoli, Globe Artichokes, and Basil Green Garlic Purée. I will start this review by saying that I went in with a bad attitude and almost hoping for a bad experience. Why? Because I am critical and hate when I hear about the coolest trendiest places to go and find them lacking, serving tiny portions and over charging with bad service. Let's begin! We came for a birthday celebration! We heard a lot about the truffle fries so our fantastic server, Molly, suggested we get some for the table. They lived up to expectations! They truffle taste was light, fries crispy and perfectly salted. We got two cocktails for a total of $30, yikes. They were good but hot diggity $30 good? No. The Louisiana was a great suggestion by molly and nice and strong but $15 on a coctakl The bread service was good but the butter was the star, light and fluffy. For my main I got the agnolotti and my husband got the wagu beef burger. Here's where a star was lost. Both entrees were within a dollar of each other in cost but the agnolotti came with four total tiny agnolotti. The portion was comically small with everyone at the table exclaiming that this must be the appetizer. Nope, it was just that tiny! But the burger was humongous which was great but if I'd known the HUGE difference in portions I certainly would have spent my $29 differently. They also messed up my appetizer order but that was okay because once corrected I was pleased. The brussels side made an amazing appetizer and the portion was huge! The meal was nicely complimented by an amuse buche and complimentary fancy chocolates at the end! I will definitely come back but knowing where to cut corners (cocktails, agnolotti). read more

We visited Atlas this evening after having it on our must visit list for quite some time. While there were some highlights, for a highly rated fine dining venue we felt it missed the mark overall. Service: 3 stars Unfortunately, I can't remember our server's name. The positives: we were greeted in a timely fashion; he explained the menu & answered our questions; when one of the entrees was not to our liking he offered to switch it out for another entree; the lady on water service was fantastic--as soon as our glasses were empty they were refilled. The negatives: service was not up to par with what one would expect at a 5 star dining establishment; there were long gaps in between being checked on; when I finished my cocktail it took some time before being asked if I would like another, & then it took quite some time for it to be delivered (they did however apologize for the delay); one of the appetizers we ordered (hamachi crudo) wasn't brought & unfortunately we forgot until after we had dessert...they did offer to bring it at that point, but we didn't want to switch back to savory after having completed our meal. Overall, when compared to other fine dining establishments we have visited (both in Atlanta & other cities) we felt the service wasn't as attentive, warm, & personalized as we have experienced elsewhere. Bar Service: 5 stars. We ordered the Rosemary & Autumn and South of Sweden. I loved the Rosemary & Autumn. It was beautifully presented under a glass dome w/ rosemary smoke, a giant cube of clear ice embossed w/ a letter A, & it tasted amazing. Highly recommend. Food: 3.5 stars. Amuse Bouche: There were 4 different types that were brought to us. All beautiful to look at & delicious. We really enjoyed these. Starters: We had the caviar flight & Black Truffle pillows. We also ordered the hamachi crudo, but as mentioned above did not receive it. The caviar flight was beautifully presented with traditional accompaniments & the caviar itself was excellent. The black truffle pillows while delicious & perfectly cooked, did not have a very pronounced truffle flavor. Bread Service: I have seen it mentioned on other reviews & we did see a bread basket pass by our table, however if this exists it was not offered to us. Mains: We were a party of 3 and tried the following dishes: Atlantic Halibut (5 stars), Westholme Filet (5 stars), and Peooered Venison (3.5 stars) which was switched out for the Poached Lobster (also 3.5 stars). The halibut was perfectly cooked & the accompanying beurre blanc was well salted, balanced in flavors, & complimented the fish. The filet was cooked exactly as ordered (medium rare), well seasoned, & meltingly tender. The venison, while cooked to the correct temperature (medium rare) was on the dry side & the pepper crust was a bit too heavy & overwhelming (& I love spicy food). I was a bit disappointed with my entree after tasting the other two entrees & our server offered to switch it out. My second entree was similarly disappointing. The accompanying sauce was overly salted & too heavy for such a delicate protein which unfortunately didn't let the lobster shine. The lobster itself was well cooked, however there were a few hard splinters of something that seemed like maybe pieces of a wooden skewer (possibly used while poaching the lobster to keep the tail from curling...just a guess). As I had already switched out my entree, I simply set them to the side & didn't say anything. The pear & parsnip side was decent, but nothing spectacular. Dessert: We shared the raspberry rose vacherin & loved it. Beautifully plated & equally delicious. They also brought out some complimentary mignardise which were also very good (our favorite was the raspberry fruit pâte). Ambiance: 5 stars. The restaurant was decorated for the holidays & was stunningly elegant. I loved the dark woods & shades of aqua & teal. We were seated by the open kitchen & enjoyed watching the hustle & bustle. Overall, we enjoyed our experience. There were some definite highlights, but with so many other amazing fine dining options in the Atlanta area we felt it fell short of what one would expect of a restaurant of this caliber. read more

I took the short ribs while my wife snd sister went for the lobster. After the main course we also tried their dessert menu. The chef sent out a complimentary cake for my sister in law. We had reservations and we were seated comfortably and promptly. Great cocktails and tasting menu. My son ordered the top Caviar for the table. It was originally served! All the tasting menu was excellent. I cannot eat scallops so the Chef served me Farro Risotto instead. Delicious!. The White Asparragus was outstanding. The Halibut was perfect, as was the Wagyu. Our main server and all the other servers were the best. (I must admit I did obsess with the bread selection. The choux was addictive, I wanted more more more!) Overall, Atlas was very good...but at this price point, very good = meets expectations. Service was perfect for the majority of our meal, but disappeared when we were ready for dessert and then ready to pay (still very good overall). Fantastic atmosphere. As for the meal: Starters -Fettucini Alfredo - would never ordered this if the Sommelier hadn't recommended it with the champagne we started with (celebrating our anniversary). It was not your typical fettucinini alfredo (which I wouldn't order anywhere, really). Outstanding, and both of our favorites. -Truffle Potato Pierogi Dumplings - The braised wagyu itself was amazing, and the mushrooms were delicious. The rest of the dish was good, but not notable. -Foie Gras - the Foie Gras itself was outstanding, but like the Pierogis, the rest of the dish didn't contribute much. Mains -Black Angus Filet - I almost tried to talk my wife out of ordering this. I just hate ordering a steak in a high end restaurant that isn't a steakhouse. And I should have - it was good, but I would not recommend it on this menu. -Rack of Lamb - All around, a beautifully composed, very good dish...but not a wow dish. Desserts -Brazilian Cacoa Pod - I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but I really enjoyed this (I do love dark chocolate. -I'm drawing a blank on what dessert my wife ordered (I don't see it on the online menu) but I know she loved it. All in all, Atlas is quite good, but it didn't live up to its reputation as one of the best in Atlanta - based on 1 experience, there are a number of restaurants in Atlanta at this price point I'd choose before Atlas. read more

Beautiful restaurant that makes a girl feel glam even though she's 18 weeks pregnant and feel a lot less than glam in her last pair of pants that will fit her. i went here with some good friends to celebrate the little smudge in my belly, and while the wine (yes, I had a small glass so sue me it was delicious) and food were amazing, what really wowed me was the service. With every plate ordered, our servers offered modifications for my pregnancy without any prompting. Which was great because in every single instance, in my excitement for the food, I had forgotten all the "no no's" - ex: runny egg, smoked salmon. While this dinner wasn't on the cheap side at $100/person all in, considering we had starters, entrees, wine, and dessert to our fill our bellies to the brim - not to mention we enjoyed ourselves at our table for over two and a half hours - it really felt like we got our money's worth. My husband's company had a holiday dinner here last night. After reading yelp reviews, I came with high expectation and was not disappointed. Everything was absolutely delicious. I enjoyed my scallops for starter and steak for the main course. Three people at the table had short rib and that dish looked absolutely amazing - it was huge and tastefully presented. The only slightly upsetting thing was that their main art collection was temporally replaced by new artists, but that is just another reason for us to go back. Also the menu on their website did not match exactly the menu at the restaurant. I had my eye set on one main course, but had to pick something else since this dish was not on the menu that night. To get to the restaurant you will go through the main lobby of St. Regis and the holiday decorations are outstanding. What a great way to put you in the holiday spirit! read more

In a fine dining cityscape once inhabited by the now-defunct Seeger's and the now-disappointing Bacchanalia, Atlas has staked its claim as the city's preeminent upscale destination, alongside Restaurant Eugene and Aria. The service was impeccable. The waitstaff was punctual but not pushy, and one of the more noticeable moments was when my brother-in-law went to the restroom and they brought out his post-dinner cappuccino; after a few minutes, our waiter swung by to take it and give him a new one "so it didn't get cold." Small gestures like this really made the experience worthwhile. The food was nearly perfect. While everything was a little heavy on salt, it was all prepared well. Bread service was prompt and never-ending. The butter was salted and room temperature. The truffle fries were amazing -- perfectly crispy with just the right amount of truffle oil. The salt-roasted Brussels sprouts would make even the grumpiest Brussels-hating child happy. And though I felt self-conscious about ordering a burger at a place like Atlas, I'm very glad I did. It was -- without hesitation -- the best burger in Atlanta. The dessert was picturesque. The chef left a small component off my mousse, but it wasn't worth waiting for them to bring it back out. Atlas is greater than the sum of its parts. Adjoining a hopping St. Regis Bar, it serves as a fine dining outpost that doesn't feel stuffy or forced. Hubz and I enjoyed dropping in casually after a long road trip back to the A. We were in super comfortable attire. It was nice that as ritzy as the Regis is, we didn't feel like we stuck out too badly. Though, the atmosphere is superb. You're literally eating in a high end art gallery of private collections including original works of Picasso, Matisse, Foujita, etc... don't forget to ask for the IPad tour of the gallery. The food was superb. We had the scallops entree and the i famous pierogi appetizer. The bartender is amazing at creating custom drinks. I personally asked for a fresh, ginger based mocktail. Top notch spot in Buckhead. Very upscale but not stuffy. Welcoming staff and attentive service. Had a business dinner and enjoyed several delicious courses of food. The pretzel bread was a nice start. The small plates are great and can be enjoyed with drinks on the patio. Fun band in the bar. Wine list is extensive. Only a few bottles below $100 so could use more options there. Wonderful dessert. Birthday cake for one of my guests was a nice treat. read more

Stellar service and the food was superlative. At every level of staff (seriously) Atlas seems to have hired the best of the best. Fancy for sure, but worth it for how welcoming it is. We visited to celebrate an anniversary, and everything was perfect. Omg this place is amazing. Everything was delicious. We ordered the caviar and lamp chops. The caviar was so goood!! I also enjoyed the Creme brûlée dessert. It's a pricey spot but well worth it. We came her for New Year's Eve. We plan to return soon. read more

Amazing fine dining/special occasion destination restaurant in Atlanta. Located in swanky Buckhead, Atlas makes every diner feel like a special guest. The old school clubby atmosphere may feel a little intimidating, but don't let that stop you from dining here. I was especially blown away by the exquisite art work from the personal collection of the restaurant group's owners displayed throughout the restaurant. Where else can you dine in the presence of Picasso and Matisse masterpieces? Food is traditional American classics. I tend to make my own "tasting menu" from the appetizers just because I love to try as many dishes as I can and get easily bored with entrees. TRUFFLE POTATO PIEROGI DUMPLINGS - not your typical pierogis, these are smaller like small little spheres. Found it could pass for an entree (if you have several apps). Shisito Peppers - seems like shisito peppers are the new kale. I've seen them popping all over menus lately. My biggest gripe is undercooked peppers. Here, the peppers were undercooked and didn't have enough char or sear on them. When cooked properly, these should almost shrink in size. Dessert: maple bourbon glaze donuts with candied bacon, butter pecan ice cream & Georgia peaches - Not the most visually appealing plated deserted, but fried dough is always good Sorbets - received a trio of seasonal sorbets - good cleanser, nothing special BEST PART - the surprise chocolate selection at the end. read more

Best restaurant in the ATL! Hand made tomato juice for perfect Bloody Mary. Exquisite culinary executed with the utmost precision. Truly the food is the best I've ever had (out of 20 countries). Full art gallery with iPads with guided tours. Both indoor & outdoor seating. Just be sure you are ready for formal style timing as this is a place to savor and take in (and your meal is going to take a little longer than we are used to in this rushed modern age). I recently dined at Atlas for the first time and was very impressed. I went for it's famous art collection, but will return for it's fabulous food. I ordered the tomato soup and the scallops. Both were beautifully presented and delicious. I also really enjoyed the amuse bouches presented before the meal and the tiny deserts brought afterwards. If you are looking for a special night out, I would suggest you give Atlas a try. read more
