Dear Atlas Restaurant: I hosted five other friends for an important (and quite expensive) dinner chez vous. The dinner was very nice. After dinner, we ordered a number of bourbons that ran into three figures per ounce. Again, very nice. I admired one of the glasses into which said bourbon was poured and asked the sommelier for information which would allow me to purchase or find the same glass. He told me he was busy but that I should call the restaurant another time to get the information. I did that, and spoke to the same sommelier. Although he once again promised to retrieve the requested information, and despite my following up by phone, text, and email yet again, I've never heard back. So here's the thing, Atlas: if you're going to get people to think of you as a fine dining establishment, don't hire a sommelier who will treat your patrons this way. Especially not ones who spend what I did, and who leave a generous gratuity, as I did. And then, once I tell you multiple times to stop sending me repetitive marketing emails, don't ignore that request also and continue to bombarde me with your various offers. Because with each email you fall lower and lower in my esteem. Even though I will never again cross your threshold, you are effecting increasingly considerable damage by continuing to ignore my simple request: take me off your list. read more

We had the tasting menu which was $220 pp, which you can upgrade with different levels of wine pairings, including one with consultation with the in-house sommelier. Food: - Amuse-bouche - it was a trio with my favorite being the foie gras mouse in the red casing. - Caviar - this was served with cauliflower, apple granita, and horseradish. It was a refreshing dish. The caviar was plated table-side, which is a nice touch. - Gazpacho - this is one of my favorite dishes of the night. It was a light soup with goat cheese, olives, and pimento and additional herbs. - Scallops - with pea sauce; not bad, but not my favorite - Lobster fettucinni - served with a foam on top of the lobster claw. Lobster isn't really my thing, but the pasta was good. - Halibut - this is one of my other favorite dishes of the night. I feel like good fish is hard to do at some restaurants, but I truly enjoyed this one. - Westholme wagyu with beef tartare on the side - I might not be the biggest fan of the mushroom ketchup, but the wagyu is cooked and seasoned well. The details is in presentation, and we were presented several types of knives and were able to pick one to eat this dish with. - Blood orange - this was another table-side experience, basil leaves and blood orange were frozen with liquid N2 by our table, which were then crushed and topped the some type of frozen dessert with honey balls. Definitely a sour experience but nice after all the heavier food. (Note, as a former scientist who has worked with a lot of liquid N2, the fact that the container was all frosted up does raises some questions about the safety of the staff. Liquid N2 burns are not something I would recommend.) - Hazelnut chocolate square - served with vanilla ice cream. I love hazelnut and this was a great dessert as it was not too sweet. - Complementary birthday chocolate cake - chocolate cake covered in meringue. While appreciated, the chocolate cake was a bit too heavy, defitinitely after all the amount the food we had. It was still good though! Overall, this was a great experience. The staff was super friendly, and the attention to detail was very much appreciated. I would recommend this place when you want to celebrate something or if you just want to treat yourselves. read more

First time dining experience at Atlas. I'd expected very tiny portions since quite a few upscale establishments serve particularly small plates but that was not the case here. My friend and I ordered the sprout salad, scallops, bass and quite a few of the desserts. Each dish was delicious and presentation was beautiful. Our server was wonderful and attentive. The restaurant itself is situated in the famous St. Regis and kept up with the very high end hotel with plush interior decorations along with beautiful works of art on the walls. Next I'd like to go to their Garden Room as it's absolutely gorgeous in there. I would recommend this place to anyone for special occasions or just to treat yourself. read more

Amazing ambience with outstanding service. Holi Smokes cocktail was amazing to start off with, followed by selection of 4 different breads with butter. Oyster Rockefeller, Black truffle pillows and Broccoli risotto for the starters. Fish of the day, Atlantic Halibut was delicious. The presentation of all the dishes was impeccable. Atlas is one of those restaurants where the food is all expensive but tiny. Even the "shareable" sides come in this tiny cast iron pots. I tried the dover sole which was delicious. My husband tried the lobster which he hated, so I would pass on that one. Then we shared this dessert that came with this liquid nitrogen dipped rose that you got to smash. So that was fun. Service was impeccable. So all in all 4 stars. read more

Atlas was certainly one of the best restaurants I've eaten at in Atlanta in a while. It is located inside the St Regis and while some hotel restaurants can be underwhelming, this did not disappoint. The restaurant is intimate and great for date nights. We visited for our anniversary dinner on Tuesday and I'm still reminiscing about the experience. We had the chef's tasting menu and given the price, it was worth the money. The portions were very well sized and the taste of the different dishes were flavorful. I don't think there was any thing I tried that night and didn't enjoy. The Waldorf salad of sorts was very different and nothing like I had expected - in a good way. The squash dish with the lobster was delicious! I really enjoyed the Westholme wagyu and oh my goodness the lime, vanilla, and pineapple was so good! The menu was well curated and I have had the luxury of dining at several established restaurants. I loved our time at Atlas and the service and I'm sure we'll be back in the future. read more

Fantastic food and cocktails! My girlfriend and I came by for drinks and small bites one Thursday night after our appointment next door. Atlas is located on the second floor of the beautiful St. Regis Hotel. We sat in one of the table tops by the bar area. The place was busy, but not packed. The space is nicely decorated, very high end, dimmed lighting, great atmosphere. They also had live music that night. Our server was pleasant, helpful, and very attentive. She checked on us for the majority of our time there. Towards the end of our meal, we had another server take over. He, too was pleasant, helpful, and attentive. Service was excellent all around! We ordered the following: Kiki De Montparnasse $16 Untitled $16 Citrus Cured Kampachi $14 Lemon Tart - new item $14 I like my cocktails on the sweet side, so I asked our first server for the sweetest drink on their menu and she recommended the Kiki. It had Hennessy VSOP, Movia Ribolla Gialla, St. Germain Hibiscus Syrup. I am not usually a fan of Hennessy, but I couldn't even taste it. It was great and plenty sweet for me! My friend ordered the Untitled, which had Amaras Mezcal, Avion Silver, Cocchi Barolo Chinato, Citrus, Earl Grey Bitters, and Ginger Beer. It had a smokey taste, but it was quite refreshing. The Citrus-Cured Kampachi came with Rice Chicharrones, Cilantro, Benne Lime Vinaigrette, Lemon Dashi, Jalapeño, Crispy Ginger. It was a great, little app. Fresh and flavorful. For dessert, our server highly recommended their newest item, Lemon (Meringue) Tart. It has a base of vanilla sable topped with lemon curd, lemon whipped cream, and meringue that is then caramelized and garnished with crispy lemon meringue pieces and candied lemon! It was the ZEST! Get it? Seriously, though probably the best lemon tart I have ever had! Perfect balance of sweet and tart. By then, we had another staff member, (I don't think he was a server) deliver the dessert to our table and explain the components of the lemon tart. They wanted to make sure we got the full experience. That was a nice treat. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Atlas. It's high end, but you also get high end service and food! I dined at Atlas with my sister on February 19th, just a few days after moving to Atlanta to celebrate a new job. Our server, Angel, was fantastic. The food was good, and they were very accommodating with my gluten intolerance. The reason for the one-star review is the aftermath of our dining experience in regards to our credit cards. My sister tried to pay with her card, but we were told the chip couldn't be read. So, I gave them my card. The bill was around $300. The next day, my sister's card had been charged the full amount four times. My card had been charged four times. We were charged $2400 together. I called and spoke with Autumn, and we were able to sort everything out. I was told it would be fixed the next day. It is March 8th now, I have called three times a week. I have spoken to the manager(s), Julian and Sabrina, twice. I keep being told I will see the refund "tomorrow." I know the name of just about everyone working there. Here we are, still both being charged. At this point, we should not be charged a penny. I have called 3-4 times every week just to continually give the card numbers and be assured it will be fixed. I give five stars to our server, and I give five stars to the hostess Caitlin(?) who was the only one to show concern over our situation. 0 stars to Julian, 0 stars to Sabrina, and 0 stars to the "billing department" that I don't believe exists. ***Editing to add*** This morning, March 16th, I finally received a refund on my card. What an extraordinary place run by an exceptionally caring management and wait staff team. I live in NYC and wanted to do something special for my parent's 32 wedding anniversary. Upon inquiring about a special dinner, I was transferred to Lexi, one of the sales managers. From the beginning she was informative and helpful. She was not pushy and provided me with different options, letting me decide as opposed to trying to up-sell. She followed up with me a few days later and arranged for me to pay remotely so my parents didn't receive a bill. Ask for Lexi and she will make anything happen. After the dinner, my parents said it was one of the most memorable meals they have ever had. They sat next to a Picasso, were treated like royalty and listened to live music all night long. But the best part of the night was the food. They were greeted with a bottle of sparkling water and an expertly picked Sauvignon Blanc. They started with a super fresh strawberry-beet salad, then moved on to the crab, then the blue ridge trout and then the lamb (which is a special recipe that the executive chef is going to use for a special cooking competition... it was apparently to DIE for). They ended the night with a special red velvet cake that said "happy anniversary " on it and a chocolate cake. Michael, the server, was an expert and a seasoned professional. Located in the patrician St. Regis Hotel, perhaps Atlanta's most upscale hostelry, I expected Atlas to be upscale, expensive, and a bit stuffy. The restaurant was certainly expensive and upscale, but while the entrance to the St. Regis and the lobby displayed Southern opulence, Atlas was more clubby than stuffy. Dark, with almost a British men's smoking club ambiance, Atlas was quite soothing. The menu was very interesting, with an eclectic array of dishes to try. Vichyssoise, usually a cold potato soup, was served hot at Atlas, and that just sounded too weird. I opted for the truffle potato pierogi dumplings (An oxymoron?) which were quite filling and tasty, but not memorable. The morel mushroom fettuccine was excellent! I splurged on this night of utter indulgence and ordered the Calotte steak at $70.00 a hit (I did use a $50.00 off certificate as a rationale) It was fabulously delicious and memorable. I dare say worth the price. Desserts were fittingly indulgent. Atlas had a wine list that was fittingly over priced. The one discord was service. Our female server was quite competent, but she just came across as weird. Some of the food descriptions were vague, and we both couldn't get a handle on what we were ordering. Atlas is an excellent restaurant and deserves to be at, or near the top, of the Atlanta's best dining experiences. read more

Atlas was such a great experience! The whole vibe of the restaurant was nice and had a modern feel. After dinner at Chops & Lobster Bar, my fiancé and I wanted to go somewhere else for drinks. We decided to go to Atlas and it was such a great decision. Nick was our server/bartender and he was phenomenal!!! He really knows his drinks and made great recommendations for us. For starters, I wanted something different and edgy. He suggested this new drink that wasn't on the menu yet. It favored a spicy strawberry margarita. I was hesitant at first because some restaurants do not get this drink right and sometimes it can be too spicy, but at Atlas, this drink was perfect. It had the right amount of spice level mixed with sweetness. It was a perfect balance of both. At first, Nick didn't have a name for this drink, but I told him I was doing a Yelp review. He said, "give me one second and I'll have a name for you." When he returned, he said the name was Risky Business. I think this is the perfect name for this drink. My fiancé ordered letters to Monica and it was very refreshing and light, but with a kick to it. For round two, we ordered the rosemary and autumn and naked and famous drink. Nick recommended Rosemary and Autumn to me. Again, a little hesitant, but he did not steer me wrong. He even explained the backstory on how the name of the drink was created. In addition, the presentation for this drink was impeccable. It comes out in a cylinder covered glass with smoke. Super cool presentation. I really enjoyed the Rosemary and Autumn. I don't know what I expected it to taste like, but it surpassed my expectations. My fiancé ordered the naked and famous. It was delicious and smoky. A different taste, if you're into Mezcal, but very enjoyable. Overall, our drink experience was exceptional and Nick was such a great server/bartender. Went there for the first time with my girl. It was good. The ambiance isn't as nice, for example the decor and the layout of the restaurant detracted on the atmosphere. But, the food was very good! The service was also exceptional! We both ordered the tasting menu. I have been to multiple Michelin starred restaurants in NYC and LA. This restaurant definitely gave off those same vibes. I even asked the server about it. And the server explained that was what they were striving to attain. I definitely give them props and asked them to keep trying. Atmosphere is nice, yet this place misses some major points: - POOR drinks preparations. All the drinks were just bad. Moscow Mules were loaded with lime juice to the point where I thought I was just eating a lime straight up. Horse's Neck was also in bad proportions and did not even taste like a horse's neck. Not to get picky, but you should also not be using a potato peeler, but a lemon zester to make a proper horse's neck twist. They can take lessons from St Regis bar next to them. - SAVORY dumplings/pierogies were the highlight of the meal for me. Prepared very very well and maybe have been some of the best I've ever had. This is the sole reason this restaurant got saved from a 1 star review. - LACKING food. Yes, I mean literally. They were out of lamb and another dish that I wanted to order. - OVERSALTED biscuits. Did the chef decide to unload the last bucket of salt into these things? I don't know. Sure, you might think I am getting picky here, the atmosphere is very nice. Atlas. What a dream. Truly a culinary experience to behold. Nestled in the St. Regis sits this absolutely dazzling restaurant. When you walk in the host kindly greet you ask you can't help but look around at all the art. There are works from Monet and Picasso hanging on the walls making the atmosphere of the restaurant one of the most unique and impact full that I have had the pleasure of experiencing. On Fridays they have a live band play all night and they are just delightful. The music makes the room warm and played at just the right volume so you can still talk. Youll find that a lot at Atlas, that everything is done just right. We started with the tomato soup (it comes with a miniature grilled cheese). The server delved into an extremely entertaining story about how the soup ended up on the menu, so we got 4. It was delicious to say the least. I would do the dish injustice if I were to try and describe it like our wonderful server. Next we wanted to try the Perogi with wagyu beef but some of my family are vegetarian, so they brought out one normal perogi with wagyu and one perogi with mushroom as a replacement. They were both smashing dishes. For the main course I Wolfed down the burger. A double patty burger made from 28 day dry aged wagyu beef. Who wouldn't order that? It was unlike any burger I have had before, and should be on every burger aficionados list. My cousin got the rack of lamb. It ended up being two very thick ribs, but they were to die for and he had to stop me from eating his whole plate. The two fish dishes that were ordered I'm ashamed to say I forgot what they were, but they melted in your mouth. One was woody, nutty with a lemon finish and the other was sweeter and oaky. I ate a good portion of all the dishes and I have to say you can't go wrong with anything on that menu. After dinner we had to tried the cacao pod dessert after hearing the story of why it is on the menu. I implore you to ask the story but either way you should 100% order the cacao pod. From story to presentation to flavor that dish is a 11/10. The staff later comes around with a tray of an assortment of 5 after dinner chocolates. We were informed that One family once asked them to leave the tray of chocolates at the table, and the family ate all 30 of them. Try one and you'll probably do the same. Id like to also quickly touch on service. This is the best service I have received in any establishment. Everything is precise and done in unison. They bring 5 people to the table everytime they set or clear the table, and they're so delicate that you dont even notice. But if you take the time to watch, they operate like a symphony. The restaurant had two sommeliers working that they happily paired each of our individual dishes with the perfect wine. They truly care about every single detail and will do whatever it takes to make you happy. Their service, commitment, and consistency should be a model for the entire industry. The inside of this restaurant is beautiful. Didn't get a chance to see the patio area but there are priceless works of art surrounding you as you eat. Their kitchen is open so you can see most of what's going on. I didn't like that they don't have their own restroom so you have to leave every time you want to use the restroom. The presentation of the food is gorgeous and service was great. Our guys repertoire seemed very rehearsed and some of the suggestions were off but whatever. I had the Cobia for dinner and everything seemed okay except a bite or two in, I discovered that there were bones in it because I bit into some. No Bueno. I informed the server who then got managers involved and two of them came over to apologize for the mishap. That was great. They brought out a fresh plate and the second one actually tasted very different-- Markedly better than the one with the bones I had before.. Anyway, the coursing got messed up and I ended up taking more than half of it to go so I didn't really get to enjoy the dish because it's best served fresh. Pretty surprised that they didn't comp the dish that was messed up off the check.. Negative points for that missing level of service. Come on, St Regis. I thought you were better than that. Also had the hamachi starter and the short rib pierogis. Both were great. Friend had the veal with sweetbreads. That was also good. For dessert, we finished with the olive oil cake. Very light and tasty. Makes me wish I had ordered a couple different desserts. Oink. Would've given this place a better rating but considering the venue, the check thing annoyed me. I wasn't trying to get a free meal-- I'd much rather have had my meal come out perfect the first time so that I could enjoy it with my eating partner instead of taking most of it to go. But if you know you messed up, you shouldn't make a customer pay for it. read more

Update: (11/2018): the white alba truffle appetizer is quite creamy and the truffles were aromatic; however, the truffle should take Center stage and in this appetizer the leek is fighting with the truffle for top billing. Atlas is Buckhead dining at its finest. Located in the St Regis on the second floor, it's setting is just perfect for elegance. When you enter the restaurant, one immediately notices the rich decor. Getting to the food though, the bread service usually has four selections with room temperature butter to spread. The appetizer selection typically gives more options from which to choose than the entree selection. The truffle potato pierogi dumplings are usually a staple on the appetizer menu and are very nice because they are paired with a small portion of short ribs. Their steaks are wonderful and the selection of fish changes frequently. The special of risotto with black truffles shaved on top was splendid and the amount of truffle shavings decadent. Atlas has a wonderful dessert selection. A fun dessert is the cacao pod citrus dessert. The chocolate is molded into the shape of a pod and hiding under this purple painted chocolate shell are tropical puréed fruit and more chocolate. They have a very large selection of after dinner drinks from teas, coffee, and more spirited drinks as well. As a final sweet gesture, the waitress/waiter will present a selection of locally crafted artisan chocolates with such flavors as lime, raspberry, coffee, etc. Atlas is one of the prettiest and finest restaurants in Atlanta. read more

What an amazing restaurant! I went to Atlas with my team for a holiday celebration and was not disappointed in the slightest. The restaurant is in the St. Regis hotel in Buckhead across from the hotel bar. The owner of the restaurant is an art collector and Atlas is where he keeps his signature collection. When we visited, a Picasso and Van Gogh on display, along with other great pieces. For dinner, I tried the Atlas steak and went with the Calotta cut. WOW. This was the best cut of meat I have ever had. As the waiter explained, the Calotte cut is the cap of the ribeye portion of the cow so it has outstanding marbling throughout. The potatoes and mushrooms were tasty without being too overpowering. For dessert, I ordered the Le Petit Croissant Brûlée. It was delicious and not too sweet even with the Carmel overtop of it. We had a blast at Atlas with our phenomenal waiter, Brian. We came in for our anniversary dinner and were very well taken care of by everyone at atlas. We really enjoyed our time. We started with the White Truffle Risotto which was absolutely devine! Our main courses were the filet with a wagyu sauce and chanterelle mushrooms and truffle potatoes, Lobster En Croute with delicious sauce and veggies. We also got a side of local organic mushrooms which were perfect. We didn't expect there to be so much food and we were stuffed, but we heard so many great things about their desserts so we had to indulge. Boy were we happy we did, the Peruvian cacao pod mouse was exceptional and beautiful, (sitting atop the natural Peruvian "soil" made up of cacao and edible flowers and micro greens) absolutely gorgeous! Brian also surprised us with some incredible muscat from South Africa as a treat and brought us a mini red velvet cake for our anniversary. An amazing experience! Truly worth every cent, we only had a la cart but will definitely be back to do the tasting. It was a friends birthday, and the manager working, Nathan made the night amazing for our friend by accommodating us with a complimentary dessert for the birthday girl and checking on the table multiple times throughout the night! There are almost no words for the experience we had at Atlas. From the moment we walked in, it was perfect in every way. The restaurant is beautiful and reminds me of a study with brilliant paintings and artwork displayed throughout. The bar not only carries an extensive selection of each spirit, but the bartenders are extremely knowledgeable in each one. Our meal was exquisite. We enjoyed pimento cheese sliders, fresh oysters, the lightest, most DELICIOUS gnocchi ever, Lobster pot pie, and handmade chocolates. The sommeliers wine pairings were spectacular. Every one was spot on and more delicious than the last. It truly felt as if we had our own personal sommelier. This could very well be the best dining experience in Buckhead. For starters, my lovely bride ordered the potato leek soup and I ordered the peach and strawberry panzanella. My entree was easily the best roast duck dish I've ever had, and my bride ordered the wagyu smashed hamburger. Dessert was the churro for me and the Peruvian cacao pod for her. A surprise red-velvet cupcake arrived for us to celebrate our anniversary. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Valet parking is easy. Make sure you try the warm pretzel roll during the bread service. If you ask, the server will bring an iPad to inform you about the impressive art collection, owned by Joe Lewis. I arrived to an already busy parking situation due to it being a holiday and a Friday it was frantic and not organized but what could you expect on this day . I finally made it to valet and i arrived with the thought from the info online that my parking would be validated it was sadly mistaken still had to pay 14 $ and the 14th of February lol but I was almost upset but I had to make my date that more enjoyable . So I entered the wonderful setting walking into the main lobby with a beautiful statue of art . So we walked upstairs and went to the restaurant inside of the beautiful hotel . The restaurant and bar area was amazing , dimly lit with a bouquet of fresh roses and soft music playing . I was seated and had a view from the bar that gives you vintage feel with the aura of modern day elegance . Not a hug wine list but a great one and signature cocktails . The menu had great choices . I will most definitely go back when less busy but staff was very informative on all things on the menu and happy to make it work if they didn't have what we didn't see . We had one of the best gastronomic experiences in Atlas. Being a vegetarian, I was not sure how good the choices would be but having a dedicated vegetarian menu was a huge plus. Unparalleled dining experience. From asking details during the reservation to having 5-8 people waiting on you throughout the experience, complete with a wonderful sommelier who knocked it out of the park, this has just become one of our favorite places. So much attention to detail from all involved. Come for the amazing, multi-million dollar art and stay for the experience. I've been 3 or 4 times. 5 stars still, for inventiveness of the menu, service, ambience (though the harsh kitchen light is sometimes unpleasant in the dining room), and of course taste. Wow! This is one of the best meals I've probably ever had. I was in town on business and came with two coworkers. We were all blown away by the entire exprienc After a long day of work, the quiet, peaceful atmosphere of the restaurant was the perfect way to end the day. We each started with a glass of wine, expertly recommended by our server. We sipped and poured over the menu; a seasonal selection of dishes that changes daily. As we debated our first course we were offered a selection of breads and a complementary taste from the chef -- salmon tartare with a dill caper tzaiki on a potato chip. Fabulous combination of flavors, artfully plated. The breads were all amazing, although the Gruyere puff stole the show. Next up, our first course - I opted for the beet salad and was blown away by the combination of flavors -- this was not a typical beet salad and I loved every bite. My colleagues chose the butternut lobster bisque and the kingfish; I swapped a bite of kingfish for a bite of beets and was certain I would have been equally pleased with that dish. Our main course arrived (perfectly paced) -- but not before we took a second round of the bread (mmmm...). I chose the trout. Every bite was bursting with complex, well balanced flavors. It was cooked to perfection and plated beautifully. Sadly we were too full for dessert, but not to full to pass up a selection of complementary, house made truffles. Artfully decorated and creatively flavored, I had to take two because it was too hard to decide on one. This is certainly not an inexpensive dining experience, but you absolutely get what you pay for in terms of food quality, flavor combinations, service, and all around dining experience. It's located in the heart of Buckhead at St. Regis Atlanta . It's a beautiful restaurant space featuring Artwork from the famous Lewis Collection ( worth 1 billion) magnificent private collection of British businessman and avid collector Joe Lewis ( worth 5 billion) , a secretive billionaire currency trader. ( Lewis famously and privately bought Klim's Portrait of Gerrrud Loew- Felsovanji ( 1903) for 39 million in 2015. I love arts and I research this stuff . So Atlas , is frost and foremost a space devoted to displaying art , and secondarily the main fine dining restaurant for the St. Regis Atlanta , which Lewi also owns ( along with Atlas). The Atlas wine list and unique flights are world class . They also feature very hard to find flights of Bourbon and Whisky which my husband like. The food is excellent with fabulous ingredients, courteous staff, dimly lit, romantic/relaxing darker ambiance open to gardens with pockets of brighter areas centralized in dining area. Back lit wall bar features a variety display of wines and executive brand liquor choices , sparking or still water, craft specialty beers . Valet service available . Atlas is well worth the visit you will have the opportunity to see exquisite world-class art from a private collection and excellent fine dining experience . We will return ; soon. read more
