On a Friday night it wasn't too busy to walk in and grab a spot. You do have the option to grab apps, meals and drink. The food wasn't bad but it tasted average. I had a mushroom burger which was good but I really thought the peppers took away from the flavor. My hubs had the chicken sandwich and thought the chicken was just so-so. Staff was super friendly and down to earth. Very helpful. Overall, we liked our visit and really made for a casual date night. I would recommend a visit! read more

Went in for dinner the other night. I was hoping to grab a drink at the bar quick but they told us to go to our table and the server would be right there to take a drink order. Server didn't show up for 15 minutes. I got up to go to the bar to get drinks and magically the server. Told me to wait and should be right over. Another 10 minutes go back. So I went to the bar, got drinks, bartenders were happy because of the tip wedding situation. I totally understand but if your server is nowhere to be found and you'd like to place an order I wonder what they expect to do. This isn't the first time it's been a total cluster fuck with servers and the bar worrying about who gets what and who's getting tipped. I asked the bartender what I should do? She said please order from out server. I said she hasn't been by. She said oh yeah she's in back rolling silver. So you can't order from the bar because they want to keep it on your table check but your servers is nowhere to be found. It happened a few weeks ago and he said we give it one more shot. That was it. Foods is a little pricey which we don't mind but if the service sucks then it's totally not worth it. read more

We spent a few days in the Trumansburg/Ithaca area. Atlas Bowl was hands down THE BEST DINNER SPOT we tried! The menu had a huge variety. As a vegetarian, I had several delicious options. The portobello mushroom sandwich was amazing! The retro vibe of the decor is swell. Our server fit the vibe. She was very attentive and very personable! I have one complaint and it was a kid's birthday party. The children bowled and shrieked LOUDLY! As a mom, the sounds coming from them made me think something was very wrong. My heart dropped several times! Apparently that is how they bowl. It would have been nice if management had told them to tone it down. It was obnoxious and went on far too long. read more

This is an old school bowling alley, with vintage vibes. Behind the building, there's a gorgeous little patio with its own bar, with servers waiting to attend to your cocktail needs. I was jazzed about the fancy sounding tots, to find that they were pretty one note. Do get the chicken bites though! Great date night spot! Easy, fun, different, great people watching and then theres the food. Do it...don't second guess going! The special Rosepetal Martini and the Basil Smash were both so refreshing and delicious! We had super tasty Brussels which were fried then topped with bacon and sharp Parmesan which made them so sinful. We each followed up with tacos. We chose the fish and carnitas variety's. They are super tasty and huge portions. This isn't a bowling alley with a restaurant feel. It's more of a restaurant that happens to have a bowling alley in it. Fantastic vibe with a retro flair. This place is just meh. Few important things to note: 1. service is slow. expect to be here for minimum one hour. 2. Refills for soda beverages are NOT included. The food: Mac and cheese was the best item we had that night, very good. The entrees were decent, I had a burger and my husband had the chicken sandwich. The apple dessert was served cold when stated it would be served warm. Definitely have had better apple pies but the ice cream that came with it was tasty. The service: Server got our order wrong twice. Forgot to put in the appetizer then missed when I said double burger instead of single. Maybe we came in on an off night for servers. Newly reopened Atlas is a wonderful location and has the vibe ripped out of downtown LA. Old school island bar as you walk in, an awesome beautiful bowling alley that has gorgeous lightening. Comfy booths throughout the building. You half expect characters from Tarantino movies to stroll in and order milkshakes from servers on roller skates. This location is, if anything, a loving and brilliant institution for the next 100 years of Trumansburg. After being closed for almost two years to COvid we were thrilled to see it reopen. I am giving it only 4 stars (really should be 3.5) however because the food is subpar. There's too much reliance on hyped up grease on the menu. Tots which is fun. Really fun to have tater tots on the menu but they're going for 9 dollars and 8 respectively. Really, if you are going to deep fry everything where are the sweet potato fries? There's a pretzel on the menu for $11 that comes with chili. As far as dinner they have tacos; of fish, chicken, vegan or pork variety. If you are gluten or dairy free you are an unlikely to get much food, so that leaves you with salads and maybe a soup. Fried chicken seems a tasty option more fried stuff though. Burgers are an option--which are great, and they have gluten free buns. Maybe an addition of a couple non-deep fried chicken/fish dishes would be useful or a couple vegetarian dishes like the curry bowls they used to make would add some pizzaz to the menu. Anyway, if you are looking to have an awesome first date the bar is amazing. If you are looking to have a fun night out with the family and friends then the bowling alley rocks (make a reservation early!) this place rocks. The food is pretty great too, definitely a few notches above normal bowling alley fare. We split some totchos and other apps with friends, and everything was tasty. There are only 7 bowling lanes and several booths and a full bar, which makes me think this is more restaurant with some bowling, than it is bowling with some food. So. Went and tried out Atlas Bowl. It's a terrific idea. Retro bowling with a bar and restaurant. The inside is very hip and cool. Love that they use old-style bowling lanes. Really fun. I commend the owners for opening and bringing it to life. I would. absolutely go back and sit at that cool bar for a drink (or 3). If I had 8 other people with me I might even bowl again (seriously? Who charges by the hour-that is the weirdest thing) $25/hour is pretty steep. And if you order food while you bowl you are spending even more time. They do have a 'happy hour' but given I went with my two kids the end price was pretty high. The food - all I can say is meh. Not sure what these other posters are used to but $15 for two small tacos and $11 for 7-8 chicken bites is outrageous. Really outrageous. The food wasn't near good enough to justify that price. The kids meal was the best value at $6 - although it came with a half as opposed to a whole hotdog. Owners should also be more cognizant of first-timers. Ask if they have ever been and if not explain the concept. Service was good - very friendly and accommodating. read more

Really fun, modern atmosphere. We each had tacos, the chicken fajita and the calabacitas. Both pretty good. We had the special of roasted veggies from the local farmers market just up the road open on Wednesdays from 4-7. They had great flavor, although I wish they were roasted longer. We sat right next to the 7 bowling lanes. Seemed like a tight space, but we went to bowl a few days later and it was cool. They charge $25 by the hour and $1 shoe rental. Seems alright for just two people, not ideal for a group. It is not not timed, and it was suggested we put a timer ourselves to keep track. Man that hour went fast, finished two games in exactly the right amount of time! Also, you have to manually keep score, which was kinda fun. As we walked to our lane, we already had water waiting for us at the table and we placed our things in the cubbies below the seat. We ordered dessert of the apple pie (warm and tasty) and a small coffee milkshake, which was just alright. Not much coffee flavor and wasn't at all thick.. Service was great all around. I would recommend checking Atlas Bowl for some good food and a fun night out. read more

We LOVED Atlas. Checked it out for the first time last night and were very happy. The beer cheese tots were to die for. I had the chicken and dumplings (where dumplings = gnocchi) and my husband had the special, a honey mustard crispy chicken Sammy, and we finished it off with the Atlas Sundae, a monstrous sundae with two special ingredients: caramel corn and toasted mini shmallows. Amazing. We had to wait a LONG time for bowling, but I won't take off a full star for that on a Saturday night. Bowling was fun and old school. We can't wait to go back with a group! read more

I believe Wednesday nights are their "local" nights where Chef Brit comes up with dishes from locally sourced ingredients. First time visit from northern FLX with high expectations. We made a rez and when we arrived to a completely packed parking lot I was happy I had called. No host at the front. We sat at the bar and the surfaces were sticky and the bartender was overwhelmed. The place was very busy but no one else at the bar. When we finally received our drinks they were good and fairly priced. The space is very cool. Old grocery store. Huge investment. Love the layout. Booths near the lanes were really neat looking. The retro DJ booth was adorable. The windows and entrance were dirty however. This place needs help and some attention to detail. We asked the bartender if our table was ready and it was. We were told to take our seats when we were ready. After 2 rounds at the bar and we sat down. I was skeptical. The menu reads well and is priced fairly. We were finally acknowledged and we ordered. Every single plate was delicious. The tater tot app with nacho toppings was the bomb. As was the tofu appetizer. My tacos were really tasty and I loved the avocado mousse. Really good. So we will be back...we really had a good time. The owner stopped and spoke with us and is a nice guy. This huge space just needs some more qualified help, which cannot be easy given the current labor pool in the area. read more

The modern minimalism of the facade caught my attention. It reminded me of restaurants you'd see in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I didn't even know this place was a bowling alley until I stepped inside. My boyfriend and I were warmly welcomed and seated, we took a booth alley-side and while it can be loud at times (especially if the lane beside you is being used) it was cool nonetheless. Prime rib taco was so satisfying and the pulled bbq chicken sandwich was delicious! Not typically a fan of tater-tots but I enjoyed the texture and detail to seasoning that went into those that came with the sandwich. My mojito was so good and fresh I shamelessly sipped the cup dry. The indoor decor was cozy but spacious, retro and modern. Really enjoyed this place. Great for a group, family get-together, party or date. read more

We went here on a Thursday night during our vacation to the area. We were looking for a casual place to eat and have a few drinks. The concept is cool, and we were impressed by the decor, the vintage lanes, and the live dj playing RECORDS! All good so far! We should have gotten concerned when it took so long for our drink order to arrive. A second sever did stop to see if we had been greeted. While waiting for our food, we flagged down our sever, Adriana, to order a couple more drinks. She seemed inconvenienced by the ask. One of those drinks eventually was delivered by another server, as was our food. The other drink never did arrive. Since Adriana never circled back to ask about food, drinks, or service, we didn't even get a chance to ask about it. When we finally saw her again, it was when she brought the check. When we mentioned the missing beer, there was no apology or acknowledgement of any kind. All we got was an eye roll when we asked her to split the check (there were two couples -- this was not an unreasonable or complicated request). She seemed very interested in rushing us out -- more attention than we had during dinner. The food was good and we were in the mood for having a few drinks and spending more tourist money, but the server spoiled the experience, and we went elsewhere. read more

We're becoming Friday regulars for the simple fact that I grew up in the Buffalo area, where Friday fish fry was (is) a weekly treat, and Atlas has one that (I'm sorry) blows those out of the Lake Erie water. Flavorful, crispy-but-feather-light batter, tender, moist, flaky haddock, fresh-cut-skin-on fries and tangy and light napa cabbage slaw. (Only thing missing is the roll and the butter pat. Get to work on that, guys!) Usually one of us gets this and the other will get a special consisting of products locally-sourced from the farmer's market. If Kid is with us, she will usually order one of the taco specials. Everything, seriously, is house-made -- except maybe for the tater tots. What could top that? Why, the bar, baby! The bar itself is gleaming, spacious, centrally located and beautiful -yet underrated- and they have wonderful signature cocktails (MY favs: Cucumberous or Gin Ricky), local wines and beers and cider on tap. Oh, and did I mention the retro-modern decor? The ambiance is fun and casual, the service is professional and friendly -- all to the sound of (childhood memory #2) bowling in the background. Really impressive design and layout at Atlas. Beer, wine and drink menus are great. Try the beer from Catskill Brewery, Freak Tractor, if it's in rotation. I love the $25/per lane flat rate for bowling, no matter your party size. Food menu is snappy, original and pretty affordable. Great family place but also ideal for grown-up action. Swanky. Very pleased to find good food in a bowling alley! The service is hit or miss here, as it seems to be with most businesses upstate. They have surprising vegan/vegetarian, and even keto-friendly dishes here, which is amazing to find in a small town. But, Trumansburg is full of surprises like this vintage-themed alley with a small but quality menu. I've loved the clams with zoodles (zucchini noodles!) and the asian pork tacos (minus the tortilla). I haven't eaten anything else (restricted diet due to diabetes), but all the dishes look yummy and seem to be prepared with care. Child-friendly and it's a relief to eat a meal with my daughter and granddaughter where we can be relaxed and the toddler can roam about. The servers often stop to play with her and are never bothered--we do try to eat early when dining with the baby. Pop in and give this place a try! read more

My wife and I asked the lodge owner for a restaurant suggestion when we stayed in Ithaca,NY. They suggested the Atlas bowling Alley in Trumansburg. We like good food and how expensive could a bowling alley be? Bad decision. We went there on a Wednesday night and were surprised it was fairly busy. But we waited about 15 minutes and we were seated. While we waited my wife ordered a "class" of wine. It turned out to be a plastic cup with about 2 ounces of wine for $7.50. Bad sign. The food took forever to be served and the waiter never came back to ask us if we were interested in anything else. Finally, I asked the manager if we were actually going to get some food (at least 50 minutes had gone by). He checked it out and the food came out about 10 minutes later. Food was not good and pricey. Lesson learned, do your due diligence before you travel. read more

I want to love this place! It is literally right around the corner from my house and it is so beautiful and brand-spanking new that it just screams "love me!" But unfortunately my experiences have been a bit...underwhelming. Let's start with the bowling-- $25 per hour? Why?! Sure if you come with a big group, you're fine, but if it's just two people that's definitely a bit steep. Why not also have a pay by the game option? This way us smaller groups can benefit from all the bowling fun as well! But I digress. On to the food--we are vegan so it is always great when places have vegan options and Atlas totally does. We have tried every single vegan and mostly-vegan thing on the menu. My favorite is definitely the root veggie plate, unlike pretty much everything else it packs in the flavor with minimum grease. Everything else, unfortunately, has been either kind of bland or way too greasy. The crispy tofu, for example, tastes like almost nothing--can we up the spices on this one? Maybe a marinade? The tater tots are pretty good, but they are so greasy that even a champion eater like me can only stomach a few at a time. I keep trying, but keep being underwhelmed. This is a great addition to the neighborhood, it is pretty, large and has a great bar and maybe great meat options, but for the slightly broke vegans, the bowling and the bland food is not hitting it. read more
